Finley had asked the ABA to look into his claims that ABA president Bill Daniels had a conflict of interest due to asking Finley to pay him a finder's fee for helping Finley find potential buyers for his team. The ABA declined to investigate Finley's charges.

In 1962, an alternate version of Memory Lane was waxed by the group and released on Parkway by the Tams. In 1963 the group name was changed to the Hippies because another group was using the name The Tams. "Memory Lane" was again recorded by Parkway and reached #63 after 5 weeks on the Billboard chart. Pluto, Terry, Loose Balls: The Short, Wild Life of the American Basketball Association (Simon & Schuster, 1990), , p.240-241, 272 In June 1973 Rupp quit as Tams president, calling the ABA "bush league" and saying it "would never survive". Storen lined up several notable local figures as co-owners of the new team including musician Isaac Hayes and Holiday Inn founder Kemmons Wilson. Storen named the new team the Memphis Sounds and developed a new red and white color scheme and logo. In 1974, Tams and Neil Wayne went to County Clare to make field recordings of highly regarded traditional players of the concertina. The recordings were issued on the "Free Reed" label in the '70s. It is currently (2019) undergoing trials (codename MATINS) as an innovative treatment for metastatic or inoperable solid tumours such as cutaneous melanoma and hepatobiliary/hepatocellular, pancreatic, ovarian and colorectal cancers, all of which host a significant number of Clever-1-positive TAMs and represent some 2 million cases annually worldwide. Following encouraging results of early European trials regarding the drugs tolerability and safety the MATINS programme is being extended to the USA.

In October 2008 Slaight released the EP Trace the Stars on Universal Music Canada and by February 2009 the record reached top 10 status on the Canadian radio charts. With collaborations from songwriter Simon Wilcox, the song also served as the soundtrack to CBC Television's Canadian Olympic highlight recap. Ali released a charity single alongside Canadian Idol season 6 winner Theo Tams called "Do You Hear What I Hear" in December 2009.

In 1981, Malaysia signed a contract for 102 vehicles of the TAM family, including the tank, VCTP and VCRT (renaming these Lion, Tiger and Elephant, respectively). None of these vehicles were delivered and Malaysia chose instead to procure Poland's PT-91. In mid-1983, Peru established a contract for 80 TAMs.

Albert White (born December 1, 1942) is an American blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. He has released two albums in his own name, although his musical career started in the late 1950s, when he played in Piano Red's then ensemble, later known as Dr. Feelgood & the Interns. White has variously performed with the Tams, Joe Tex, Ray Charles, Beverly Watkins, Clarence Carter, Ben E. King, Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, and Rufus Thomas.

The song was used as the opening theme to the Danish reality television program Paradise Hotel. Two more singles followed, "Can't Say I'm Sorry" and "Where Do You Go?". "Can't Say I'm Sorry" was later released by Erik Segerstedt, runner-up of the Swedish Idol, and peaked at number one in Sweden. "Can't Say I'm Sorry" was also released by Canadian Idol winner Theo Tams on his debut album Give It All Away.

This was the last album to be produced by this line-up of the Albion Band. John Tams, Michael Gregory and Graeme Taylor remained in the line-up for one more album, Lark Rise to Candleford, and then went on to form Home Service. Philip Pickett became one of Britain's most respected scholars of medieval music. Ric Sanders went on to join Fairport Convention and both Nicol and Mattacks returned to the Fairport fold.

Phazaca kellersi is a species of moth of the family Uraniidae first described by Tams in 1935. It is found in Samoa and was described by two specimen from Tutuila collected by H.C. Kellers. This species has a wingspan of 25 mm. The forewings are tilleul (pale yellowish green) buff, appearing pale brownish drab owing to the fuscous tips of numerous scattered scales, sometimes so arranged as to form obscure transverse strigulae.

The 2001 William Hill Greyhound Derby Final took place during May and June with the final being held on 2 June 2001 at Wimbledon Stadium. The winner received £75,000. Rapid Ranger successfully defended his title and became only the third greyhound in history to win the Derby twice, he was owned by Ray White and bred by Martin Broughan. Two of the finalists Smoking Bullet and Countrywide Tams were owned by Vinnie Jones.

Prior to the start of the season the Eastern Division changed as the Memphis Tams gave way to the Memphis Sounds and the Carolina Cougars relocated and became the Spirits of St. Louis. The Western Division remained unchanged save for the Denver Rockets renaming themselves the Denver Nuggets. The ABA and NBA continued playing preseason exhibition games between their teams. The ABA won 16 of the 23 games, to 7 wins for the NBA.

2012 saw Martin selected to be part of the National Theatre's War Horse School, working with John Tams, Nancy Kerr, John Kirkpatrick and Chris Parkinson. She was also involved in The Nursery Rhyme Project for the Bristol Old Vic, co-writing and performing in a show exploring one of our oldest oral traditions. She worked with Greg Russell, Nancy Kerr, Tim Yates, and Findlay Napier on the protest song project Shake The Chains.

Tams has now received ten nominations, resulting in six BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. The book accompanying the Topic Records 70th anniversary boxed-set Three Score and Ten lists Unity as one of its classic albums, and two of Tams’s tracks appear in the collection: Bitter Withy from The Reckoning is track 16 on the first CD; and Unity (Raise Your Banners High) from Unity is track one on the fifth CD.

With this team Deportes Tolima finished second through years 1981 and 1982. In the year 1983 Tolima participated for the first time in an international tournament, the Copa Libertadores of 1982 reaching the semi-finals. The Tam-tams began in the late 1970s with a workshop on African drumming at a jazz bar on Ontario Street. It is not organized by the municipal authorities. Despite initial resistance by participants, the city now intervenes in the event, restricting commercial activity to registered members in designated areas and assigning police and first aid technicians to ensure the safety of those present.

He was a former part-owner of the Kansas City Royals from 1983 to 1991. He also owned the Memphis Chicks, a minor league baseball team, as well as the Memphis Rogues, a professional soccer team, and the Memphis Tams, an American Basketball Association team. He founded the University of Memphis' Fogelman Scholars Program. The home of Tulane University basketball team was named the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in his honor after he helped fund its renovation.

Abarrientos joined the seniors team two years after leading the Baby Tamaraws to its juniors' basketball title. Victor Pablo along with Abarrientos led the Tams back to the finals after six years, matching with the DLSU Archers, a team who just joined the league couple of years back out of NCAA. The Archers were victorious, with Eddie Viaplana's three pointer with sixteen seconds remaining sealed the Archers' first UAAP title with the score of 74–69.

Wedman was the 2nd overall pick in the 1974 ABA draft by the Memphis Tams of the American Basketball Association and the 6th overall pick of the Kansas City Kings in the 1974 NBA draft. Wedman signed with the Kings. Wedman was a proficient shooter for the Kings playing under coaches Phil Johnson and Cotton Fitzsimmons and alongside Tiny Archibald and Otis Birdsong among others. He represented the Kansas City Kings twice in the NBA All-Star Game.

Within a few decades the tam-tam became an important member of the percussion section of a modern symphony orchestra. It figures prominently in the symphonies of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky,Symphony No.6 Gustav Mahler,Symphony No.6 and Das Lied von der Erde Dmitri ShostakovichSymphony No.4, No.8, No.10. No.11, and No.13 and, to a lesser extent, Sergei Rachmaninov and Sergei Prokofiev. Giacomo Puccini used gongs and tam-tams in his operas.

"Safe" is the fifth episode of the science fiction television series Firefly created by Joss Whedon. Written by Drew Z. Greenberg, and directed by Michael Grossman, the episode originally aired on November 8, 2002. The episode sees Malcolm Reynolds forced to choose which crew members to save when one is gravely wounded and two others are kidnapped. Simon Tam finds an uneasy haven in a remote village, but River's uncanny perceptions jeopardize the Tams' temporary safety.

Charles Oscar Finley (February 22, 1918 – February 19, 1996), nicknamed Charlie O or Charley O, was an American businessman who is best remembered for his tenure as the owner of Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics. Finley purchased the franchise while it was located in Kansas City, moving it to Oakland in 1968. He is also known as a short-lived owner of the National Hockey League's California Golden Seals and the American Basketball Association's Memphis Tams.

Simon's privileged background from the center planets of the Alliance puts him at odds with his rougher shipmates. He often comes across as stuffy or pretentious and is far more formal than the majority of the crew. Simon believes in having manners when no one is watching and his dedication to his sister is his main defining characteristic, often leading him to gladly make personal sacrifices for her benefit. The Tams remain below Alliance radar, despite some close calls.

In 1999, most of the building was turned into Agrabah Café, with the exception of Les Trésors de Schéhérazade and La Girafe Curieuse. All shops and streets were merged to make one whole restaurant, although the details of the place are left unchanged (except for the shop Le Chant des Tam-Tams which was fully modified). As such, this place now offers a table service for guests. The restaurant specializes in a wide range of mediterranean meals.

Most of his early songs were covers of US originals, such as "Sorry" by The Impalas, "Stupidity" by Solomon Burke, and "Somewhere They Can't Find Me" by Paul Simon. None of them reached the charts, although some received radio play, especially on pirate radio stations. On June 10, the Suns signed free agent point guard Dennis "Mo" Layton. Layton began his career with the Suns in 1971, playing two seasons before being waived. He would then play for the Portland Trail Blazers and the Memphis Tams of the ABA in 1973–74, and sit for the 1974–75 season as a free agent. Layton was waived by the Suns during the preseason and would again sit through 1975–76 season as a free agent.

England have also set up a unique collaboration with the Welsh Darts Organisation to present the Anglo-Celtic-County-Cup, which is held in June for Inter-County Teams. England Darts is now solely responsible for all aspects of the England international tams, where many of the stars of the World Championships can be seen each year on BBC TV, none more famous than Martin Adams & Trina Gulliver current champions of the World and respective England national team captains.

Michael A. Davis (born July 26, 1946) is a retired American basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and American Basketball Association (ABA). Davis was selected by the Baltimore Bullets in the first round of the 1967 NBA draft and by the Oakland Oaks in the 1967 ABA Draft. Named to the 1970 NBA All-Rookie Team, he played from 1969 to 1973 as a member of the Baltimore Bullets, Buffalo Braves, and Memphis Tams.

The Tams Brig track, also known as Ayr Greyhound Stadium, was located between Limekiln Road and Elmbank Street, and was overlooked by the houses that ran along Elmbank Street. The first race was on 16 December 1933 and racing took place on Monday and Saturday evenings at 7pm. Amenities included a large licensed club and sixteen on-course bookmakers. The circumference was tight because it was 300 yards with race distances of 250, 400 & 550 yards.

Alberta had the most Canadian Idol winners with three—Kalan Porter, Melissa O'Neil, and Theo Tams; Newfoundland and Labrador had the most runners-up with two—Rex Goudie and Craig Sharpe. Prince Edward Island was the only province to never have had a finalist. There has never been a Canadian Idol finalist from a Canadian territory. Wilbert "Wil" Robinson Jr. (born December 25, 1949) is a former American Basketball Association (ABA) player. In his senior year at West Virginia University, Robinson was selected to the AP All-American Third Team. Robinson was taken with the seventh pick in the fourth round of the 1972 NBA Draft, however he never played in the NBA. Robinson played one season in the ABA for the Memphis Tams, averaging 8.6 points, 2.9 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Haven and the league tried to move the Condors to a bigger market. However, they were unable to do so, and in June 1972 the ABA canceled the Condors franchise. The Condors' roster was put into a dispersal draft; George Thompson went to the Memphis Tams, Mike Lewis to the Carolina Cougars, Skeeter Swift and James Silas to the Dallas Chaparrals, and Walt Szczerbiak to the Kentucky Colonels. John Brisker jumped to the Seattle SuperSonics of the NBA.

Joe L. Reaves (born May 27, 1950) is a retired professional basketball small forward who played parts of the 1973–74 season in both the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the American Basketball Association (ABA). He attended Bethel College where he was drafted in the third round of the 1973 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. He played seven games for the Suns until he was waived on November 27, 1973. He later signed with the Memphis Tams of the ABA.

" On 17 September 2011, Lott revealed the album title, which is inspired by The Tams' 1968 song "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy". She stated, "It's a song I grew up listening to, from a young age. I grew up listening to a lot of soul music and I think this album sounds more this kind of way. It's a message that I've always really liked and I think it's important that need to people remember, it's just motivating and inspirational.

As such the location of the Tam-Tams is well rooted in the history of Montreal public life and festivities. Anecdotal evidence suggests the first people to begin regular drumming at the base of the Cartier monument back in the mid-1960s. A group of students from the West Indies who lived in the area arranged to meet at the monument and practice in a public place to avoid disturbing their neighbours. However, alternate anecdotal evidence suggests more recent beginnings.

In this respect, anecdotal evidence suggests the Tam-Tams' origins date back to Saint Jean Baptiste Day 1976 when the City of Montreal located festivities related to the day entirely within the 'mountain domain'. In this case the mountain became a playground for the city's youth and counter- culture, with music throughout the day and many bonfires throughout the night. Damage to the park was so extreme the city would never again use the mountain for large-scale organized festivities.

In 1971 he became the drummer for the Classics IV and during this period was also hired as staff drummer for the Lowery Group. Huey’s earlier work for The Winstons led to his involvement with the Allen Toussaint produced 1974 album Frankie Miller’s Highlife by Frankie Miller. As the staff drummer for Lowery Studios, Huey played drums on numerous sessions most notably for Johnny Nash, Billy Joe Royal, The Tams, Joe South, Clarence Carter, Mylon LeFevre, Sam Moore (Sam & Dave) and Sami Jo.

His CD Beach House on the Moon was intended as an homage to the genre. Though it featured The Tams, and for a while they toured with him as vocalists, the CD did not yield any tunes that were big hits with beach music fans. However, it may have been influential in popular country music. Since that release, there have been others by artists associated with Buffett that have had that "perfect shag beat" and a beach music feel to them.

A Javanese-Balinese style gong, hanging in a frame Suspended gongs are played with hammers and are of two main types: flat faced discs either with or without a turned edge, and gongs with a raised centre boss. In general, the larger the gong, the larger and softer the hammer. In Western symphonic music, the flat faced gongs are generally referred to as tam-tams to distinguish them from their bossed counterparts. Here, the term "gong" is reserved for the bossed type only.

The approach of a solar eclipse has drawn various people from all directions to Alice Springs, an Australian town in the Northern Territory, nearby which is the best point for observation. Toby Delaney and his partners are expecting a bus-load of German tourists, but a truck driver destroys their hotel. He improvises an 'adventurous bush trip' for them, even though he has no experience with 'bush foods'. He serves them Tim Tams, which he claims to be flavoured with Witchetty grubs.

Just as they come to an agreement on price, local law enforcement arrives to arrest the clients, and Book is seriously wounded in the ensuing gunfight. Meanwhile, Simon and River join Inara and Kaylee in town as the women are shopping. Although Kaylee contemplates buying something nice for Simon, the doctor manages to insult her and her beloved Serenity with his complaints about his predicament, and the Tams are left to their own devices. Simon quickly discovers River has wandered off.

It was the worst record in the ABA and put them in fifth (last) place in the Eastern Division, 33 games behind the Carolina Cougars. The Tams did not make the playoffs, in part due to heavy roster turnover (they made 28 roster moves in the first two months of the season alone). Despite their poor play they averaged 3,476 fans per home game. Finley had the team wear all possible combinations of green, white and gold tops and trunks.

It soon became apparent that the Tams were not high on the list of Finley's priorities. Amenities like programs began to disappear, and morale suffered as players began to wonder if they would receive paychecks and if they would clear the bank when they did. After two seasons of this, the ABA stepped in and took control of the team. ABA Commissioner Mike Storen resigned his position with the league to take over the operation and run the team in Memphis.

Transparent Anatomical Manikin (TAM) The Transparent Anatomical Manikin (TAM) is a three-dimensional, transparent model of a human being, created for medical instructional purposes. TAM was created by designer Richard Rush in 1968. It consisted of a see-through reproduction of a female human body, with various organs being wired so specific body systems would light up on command, on cue with a pre-recorded educational presentation. Rush eventually produced 42 TAMs, many of which are still displayed in US health education museums.

The Conquistadors opened the ABA season on October 10, 1973, with a road game against the San Antonio Spurs. 5,879 attended as the Conquistadors prevailed, 121–106, behind Stew Johnson's game-high 38 points. The following night 5,013 fans saw the Conquistadors lose on the road to the Denver Rockets, 135–111. The following night the Conquistadors played their home opener in front of 2,318 fans but lost to the Memphis Tams 118–113 in spite of Stew Johnson's 34 points.

It is expected that the project will be formally announced towards the end of January 2011 and the production team named. On 28 September, his 3rd EP "Call The Doctor" was released under Hidden Pony records. What many critics are calling the "record of his career", Tams clearly has developed his sound and yells intimate stories of the ups and downs of relationships, coming out to his Christian family, and finally being able to let go of a painful previous relationship.

Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are thought to acquire an M2 phenotype, contributing to tumor growth and progression. Some tumors can also produce factors, including M-CSF/CSF1, MCP-1/CCL2 and Angiotensin II, that trigger the amplification and mobilization of macrophages in tumors. Research in various study models suggests that macrophages can sometimes acquire anti-tumor functions. For example, macrophages may have cytotoxic activity to kill tumor cells directly; also the co-operation of T-cells and macrophages is important to suppress tumors.

Prior to colonisation, written literature was virtually absent in Burkina Faso, like much of Africa. The oral tradition has always been important to the many ethnic groups, sustaining the cultural diversity of the country. Culture has been transmitted orally through music and dance. This has been described by Titinga Frédéric Pacéré in his 1992 book Le langage des tam-tams et des masques Afrique, emphasising the importance in many of Burkina Faso's ethnic groups of griots, and the older members of the communities.

The three CDs cover recordings made between 1948 and 2001. These recordings were made in numerous different locations including Pubs, Stores, various flats and houses, recording studios and Cecil Sharp House the headquarters of the English Folk Dance and Song Society. Many of the tunes were recorded by people who were only involved with the music but also included many people from the British folk music world, such as Ewan MacColl, Peter Kennedy, Bill Leader, Robin Morton, Peter Bellamy and John Tams.

For the first performances, the bells were combined with tam-tam and gongs. However, the bell was used with the tuba, four tam-tams tuned to the pitch of the four chime notes and another tam-tam on which a roll is executed by using a drumstick. In modern-day performances, the Parsifal bell has been replaced with tubular bells or synthesizers to produce the desired notes. The thunder machine is used in the moment of the destruction of Klingsor's castle.

In 1973, the Detroit Pistons selected Kenon in the third round (15th pick overall) of the NBA draft. He was also drafted by the Memphis Tams of the ABA, but the New York Nets secured his draft rights. During his 1973–74 rookie season, Kenon averaged 15.9 points and 11.5 rebounds per game on the Julius Erving-led Nets team that won the 1974 ABA Championship. "Hey Girl Don't Bother Me" is a popular single by The Tams. Written by Ray Whitley, it was originally released in 1964 and reached number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 10 on the R&B; chart. It later became a favourite on the Northern soul scene in the UK, belatedly reaching number one on the UK Singles Chart for three weeks in September 1971. The single was also number one on the Irish Singles Chart, for one week, the same month.

Dick Smith Foods ran into legal difficulties in 2003, when Arnott's Biscuits Holdings took the company to court. The issue was a trademark dispute over DSF's Temptin' brand of chocolate biscuits, which Arnott's alleged had diluted their trademark as a similar biscuit (the Tim Tam), in similarly designed packaging.Went, Sheree: Smith and fans tempt Tim Tams, The Age, 7 May 2003. The case was settled out of court, and Smith responded by casting Greg Arnott, a member of the Arnott family, in a commercial for Temptins.

The Iron Muse (A Panorama of Industrial Folk Song) arranged and produced by A. L. Lloyd is a thematic Industrial folk music album. The featured singers and musicians are Anne Briggs, Bob Davenport, Ray Fisher, Louis Killen, A. L. Lloyd, Matt McGinn and The Celebrated Working Man's Band. John Tams considers it to be in the form of a radio ballad. The album was recorded at Champion's in Hampstead, London by Bill Leader and Paul Carter in an ad hoc studio set up in a large room.

Arthur Alexander was flown to Philadelphia to appear on Dick Clark's American Bandstand. The success stunned the big-city studios; the music industry quickly took notice of this unknown little studio called FAME (Florence Alabama Music Enterprises). Well-known producers began coming to Muscle Shoals to record with this house band to capture the perceived "Muscle Shoals sound". Atlanta producer Bill Lowery brought The Tams who recorded "What Kind of Fool (Do You Think I Am)", and Nashville's Felton Jarvis brought Tommy Roe to record "Everybody".

Memphis has previously hosted a major professional basketball team in the American Basketball Association (ABA). Founded as the New Orleans Buccaneers in 1967, the franchise moved to Memphis in 1970, becoming known as the Pros. The team changed its name to the Tams and then the Sounds, before folding in 1975 prior to the ABA-NBA merger in 1976. The Grizzlies were created as an expansion team for the 1995–96 season which, along with the creation of the Toronto Raptors, saw the NBA expand into Canada.

After Noma's return to Vincent Astor he sold her to the department store magnate Rodman Wanamaker and by early 1920 she was being extensively overhauled and improved at South Brooklyn, again supervised by Tams, Lemoine & Crane. In 1923 Noma was chartered to William Beebe for his first expedition to the Galápagos Islands. In about 1927, Noma was sold to Nelson B. Warden and renamed Vega. In 1933 Vega was sold to Wilhelm Schuchmann of Hamburg, owner of the German towage and salvage company Bugsier Reederei-u.

However, Jayne betrays the Tams, placing a call to an Alliance officer who agrees to pay their bounty. Once awakened, Simon dresses as a doctor and takes River to the diagnostic ward with Jayne. There, Simon discovers that River's brain has been surgically operated on many times, disabling her ability to suppress emotions. Street terms for temazepam include king kong pills (formerly referred to barbiturates, now more commonly refers to temazepam), jellies, jelly, Edinburgh eccies, tams, terms, mazzies, temazies, tammies, temmies, beans, eggs, green eggs, wobbly eggs, knockouts, hardball, norries, oranges (common term in Australia and New Zealand), rugby balls, ruggers, terminators, red and blue, no-gos, num nums, blackout, green devils, drunk pills, brainwash, mind erasers, neurotrashers, tem-tem's (combined with buprenorphine), mommy's big helper, vitamin T, big T, TZ, The Mazepam, Resties (North America) and others.

The Conquistadors took a 3–5 record into November. On November 1 the Q's and Tams met again, this time in Memphis, and the Conquistadors repeated as victors, 103–100, in front of 6,273 fans. The following night in Salt Lake City the Conquistadors took their improved 4–5 record into the Salt Palace in front of 7,168 fans but lost to the Stars 126–110. November 6 saw the Q's on the road at Denver, losing 110–104 to the Rockets before a crowd of 2,058.

Sherard began his touring career with R&B; Band, Still Cruzin. Following an eight-year career with Still Cruzin, Sherard launched the band Flat Front Tire with guitarist Shane Pruitt. The band consisted of a four-piece funk rhythm section and toured together from 1998-2005. He has played with The Drifters, Clarence Frogman Henry, The Crystals, Percy Sledge, Archie Bell, Gypsy Soul, Groove Planet, The Jamie Wright Band, Darius Rucker, The Tams, Zataban, Mac Arnold, and Plate Full of Blues, to name a few.

In 1964, they released a reworking of The Tams "Hey Girl Don't Bother Me", and the cover "Surfer Girl" by The Beach Boys which became a top 30 hit in most Australian states. Unfortunately their next three singles failed to chart. The first of the final two Leedon singles was a version of Paul Anka's "Lonely Boy." The final release on Leedon "Tonight We Love", was heavily produced in the style of Phil Spector, and was adapted from Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto in B-flat minor.

He was a member of the creative team headed by Bill Bryden. He also worked as a music consultant at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre on Holding Fire (opened July 2007), and on War Horse (opened October 2007) at the National Theatre. War Horse has been described as the most successful show ever staged by the National and has resulted in several awards. It received six nominations for the Olivier Awards, including one for the Best Sound, for Tams and fellow team members Chris Shutt and Adrian Sutton.

In doing this, they learned how to work as a team to create arrangements for new songs. Putnam and his bandmates later followed Rick Hall to work at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals and served as the rhythm section for hit records by Arthur Alexander, Tommy Roe and The Tams. The success of these recordings drew the attention of the entire recording industry to the previously unknown and out-of-the way studio. Putnam, Carrigan and Briggs were subsequently recruited by prominent music producers to move to Nashville, about 125 miles north.

The song spent three weeks at number one on the Cash Box R&B; chart. Many of their popular hits were written by Ray Whitley. "Hey Girl Don't Bother Me" was also a modest US hit the same year. The Tams had only one further major US hit (in 1968) when "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy", peaked at #26 on the US R&B; chart, and subsequently made the UK Top 40 in 1970. Their 1965 recording "I've Been Hurt" was their biggest regional hit (based on sales and airplay) prior to 1980.

During his time in Oldmeldrum he started performing and writing. By 1930 he came to the attention of the Beltona record label and during the following decade he recorded more than 40 pieces, either bothy ballads or cornkisters, for them, some of which he composed himself or in collaboration with Willie Kemp. His best-known composition, still popular in Northeast Scotland today, was A Pair o Nicky-tams but he wrote many others, the most notable of which were The Buchan Bobby, Aikey Brae and A New Lum Hat.

Transport Canberra (TC) is the transport agency equivalent in the ACT, in charge of managing Canberra's public transport network, including ACTION buses and Canberra Light Rail, as well as active travel. It was formed from combining the public transport division of the TAMS with Capital Metro Agency, the agency in charge of the light rail project. It also replaced the previous roads and public transport agency, Transport for Canberra. Originally planned to be a standalone government directorate, it was later changed to be a division of the newly created TCCS.

Pilgrims were served a traditional Australian menu. Over the six-day event, 3.5 million meals were served. To cater for the masses, 210,000 slices of bread, 425,000 chocolate bars, 200,000 meat pies and 300,000 servings of Weet-Bix Crunch were ordered. Came 1949, Fulgencio was not qualified anymore to play in the NCAA and he went to Far Eastern University but had to undergo the one-year residence, so in the meantime, he played for Heacock's in the MICAA under his tutor, Franco Marquicias. Fulgencio helped power the FEU Tamaraws to the 1950 UAAP championship. The Tams won the opener and in the second game, FEU coach Martin Dino fielded Fulgencio, who was also a playmaker, as a forward.

Spending Sundays in Mount Royal Park has been popular since the park was inaugurated in 1876, and the nature and design of Fletcher's Field has always made it a popular spot for picnics and sunbathers. Musical performances have been a staple since time immemorial, as brass bands, military and marching bands were popular entertainment until around the time of the Second World War. Moreover, the location of the Tam-Tams isn't too far from where Montreal's first permanent exposition hall, the Crystal Palace, was located.

In 1992, Michael Huey retired from his career as a musician and attended UCLA School of Law. In 1994 he started his own music publishing and production company called HueyTunes.

In 1907 he set a translation of P. D. A. Atterbom's poem The Mermaid. He wrote incidental music for productions of many plays, including Quo Vadis, In the Palace of the King, Gringoire, The Wooing of Priscilla, King Robert of Sicily, The Cipher Code, In a Balcony, The Land of Heart's Desire and others. He also published collections of songs, including "Sunlight and Shadow", and copyists' full scores of two symphonies, in E major and A minor, exist in the Tams- Witmark collection at the Library of Congress.

The Tams led as many as ten points in the fourth quarter with six minutes to go but came up short to earn a final spot in the Final Four. In Season 76, FEU made a major revamp with their roster and coaching personnel. The Tamaraws hired former San Beda Red lions coach Nash Racela and assigned former mentor Bert Flores as the team's consultant. FEU great Johnny Abarrientos was retained as assistant coach while former UST King Tiger Gilbert Lao and Josh Reyes were added as Racela's deputies.

K9's co-creator, Bob Baker, had long sought to produce a television series starring the character. Indeed, in 1997 Doctor Who Magazine announced that Baker and producer Paul Tams were producing a four- part pilot series provisionally called The Adventures of K9. The magazine stated that the pilot would be filmed that year "on a 'seven-figure' budget", and that the BBC had expressed interest in purchasing the broadcast rights. However, funding proved elusive, and despite persistent rumours, the series remained in "development hell" for many years.

The marsh fed by 'Tams Well' was converted into an ornamental lake with three islands. In the 1870s a new road was made to the stables and in 1888 the original house was unroofed and modified to become an ivy-clad garden feature. This old house had been much altered and improved over the years, serving latterly as a coachmans' quarters. It carried a marriage stone dated 1752 which commemorated the union of Robert Shedden and Margaret Simson, as well as a date stone of 1887 with the initials 'J.

A TAM VCA155 Production began in 1979, with the intent to build a total of 512 armored vehicles (200 tanks and 312 VCTP infantry fighting vehicles). Economic problems, however, ended production in 1983 with only 150 TAMs and 100 VCTPs built. These vehicles were produced by an Argentine company, Tanque Argentino Mediano Sociedad del Estado (or TAMSE) founded by the government in March 1980. 70% of the TAM's components were manufactured in Argentina, while the 30% manufactured in Germany corresponded to the transmission, optics and fire control system.

White progressed to the stage that he joined Piano Red's band as guitarist in the late 1950s, becoming bandleader of Dr. Feelgood & the Interns in early 1962. One of the other band members was Beverly Watkins, who became a lifelong friend. When the band folded, White joined the Tams from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, and later in the decade played with Hank Ballard and the Midnighters. White also had his own ensemble named the Rockers, who played in juke joints, nightclubs, and at various functions throughout the Southeastern United States.

The Pros were renamed the Memphis Tams in time for the 1972–73 season, and Babe McCarthy was replaced as head coach by Bob Bass. Under Bass, Davis' playing time increased and his numbers followed suit; he set new season highs by averaging thirteen points per game and eight rebounds per game. His playing time diminished slightly in the 1973–74 season, one which saw Bass be replaced by Butch van Breda Kolff, and he averaged over five fewer points and two-and-a-half rebounds per game fewer than he did the previous year.

The tam-tam was also used in the funeral music played when the remains of Napoleon were brought back to France in 1840. Meyerbeer made use of the instrument in the scene of the resurrection of the three nuns in Robert le diable. Four tam-tams are used at Bayreuth in Parsifal to reinforce the bell instruments although there is no indication given in the score. In more modern music, the tam-tam has been used by composers such as Karlheinz Stockhausen in Mikrophonie I (1964–65) and by George Crumb.

Targeting intratumoral TAMs and MDSCs can also reduce tumor burdens in preclinical models, in both T cell–dependent and T cell–independent ways. For instance, inhibiting chemokine receptor type 2 (CCR2), colony-stimulating factor-1 receptor (CSF-1R) and granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) in preclinical models of melanoma, pancreatic, breast, and prostatic carcinoma increased T cells and restricted tumor growth. The effect was enhanced by anti-CTLA-4 or anti-PD-1/PD-L1. These studies did not determine whether the increases in T cells were a consequence of viability or replication.

Monoclonal antibody Bevacizumab is clinically approved in the US to treat a variety of cancers by targeting VEGF-A, which is produced by both CAFs and TAMs, thus slowing angiogenesis. Targeting immunoregulatory membrane receptors succeeded in some patients with melanoma, non-small-cell lung carcinoma, urothelial bladder cancer and renal cell cancer. In mice, anti-CTLA-4 therapy leads to clearance from the tumor of Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (Treg cells) whose presence may impair effector T cell function. Similarly anti-PD-1/anti-PD-L1 therapy blocks the inhibitory PD-1 receptor.

David Howe, Mark Stammers & Stephen Walker, Doctor Who: The Handbook - The Sixth Doctor, pp 200-201. Instead, organisers Paul Mark Tams and Jeff Weston (managing director of Record Shack) secured the involvement of 25 mid-level performers, some of which were attached to Weston's label. The resulting supergroup recorded and released the single under the name Who Cares?, with the participation of four regulars from the TV series: Colin Baker (the Sixth Doctor), Nicola Bryant (companion Peri Brown), Nicholas Courtney (recurring character Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart) and Anthony Ainley (the Master).

During the 1970s, he worked at the Gold Lounge accompanying Gladys Knight & the Pips and The Tams. In 1971 he went on the road with Johnnie Taylor's show, which included Jackie Moore, King Floyd, Z. Z. Hill, and The Stylistics, who were popular because of the song "You're a Big Girl Now." He was the chief arranger for a television show in 1972 called Nightlife South which ran for 25 weeks. In 1973 he wrote charts for The Burning of Atlanta album by The Spirit of Atlanta for Buddah Records.

The tri-Pride Live Music Festival headliners for 2014 were Thelma Houston and Canadian Idol winner Theo Tams. The event was extended to a week in 2003, and its 3,000 visitors made it the one of the largest pride events in southern Ontario after Toronto Pride. The Waterloo Region Record, Labatt Brewing Company, and the local CTV affiliate CKCO-DT have been sponsors of the event. The 2011 edition included a horse race at Grand River Raceway in Elora, Ontario which was claimed to be "harness racing’s first-ever Drag (Queen) Race".

"What Kind of Fool (Do You Think I Am)" is a 1964 single written by Ray Whitley and recorded by The Tams. The single was their most successful release on both the United States R&B; and pop charts. "What Kind of Fool (Do You Think I Am)" went to number one on the Cash Box R&B; chart and peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. this track was one of the many hit records recorded at Rick Hall's FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

The second mechanism is the excision or the hydrolytic removal of the incorporated drug or pyrophosphorolysis. This is a reverse of the polymerase reaction in which the pyrophosphate/PPI released during nucleotide incorporation reacts with the incorporated drug (monophosphate) resulting in the release of the triphosphate drug. This ‘unblocks’ the DNA chain, allowing it to be extended, and replication to continue. Excision enhancement mutations, typically M41L, D67N, K70R, L210W, T215Y/F, and K219E/Q, are selected for by thymidine analogs AZT and D4T; and are therefore called thymidine analog mutations (TAMs).

Isaiah "Bunny" Wilson (born May 31, 1948) is a former professional basketball player who played in the NBA and ABA. Wilson was drafted with the twelfth pick in the second round of the 1971 NBA Draft. He played in 48 games for the Detroit Pistons in the 1971-72 NBA season and averaged 3.5 points per game, 0.9 assists per game and 1.0 rebound per game. He also played one season in the ABA for the Memphis Tams and averaged 6.3 points per game, 2.4 assists per game and 1.3 rebounds per game.

River worries about the situation, telling Simon she doesn't trust Saffron and that she knows Jayne had tried to betray the Tams to the Alliance. Meanwhile, Wash and Kaylee instruct Mal and Saffron to dump the collectible pistol, once they procure it, into an automated trash disposal unit, which Kaylee can reprogram to have the trash taken to a remote location where they can pick it up. Mal and Saffron enter the estate without difficulty. They find the room that houses the well- protected collectible, but are met by Durran himself.

Rise Up Like the Sun is a British folk rock album released in 1978 by The Albion Band. The album is in part a collaboration between John Tams on vocals and melodeon and Ashley Hutchings on electric bass. This is not the first album on which the two worked together but it remains the most fulfilling for listeners. To build the sound Hutchings brought in two of his former compatriots from Fairport Convention, Dave Mattacks on drums and tambourine and Simon Nicol on vocals and electric and acoustic guitars.

In the process, he'd held up almost all of the league's radio and TV contracts. Even then, the team had no coach and virtually no front office when training camp opened in September. Finally, two days before the team's first preseason game, Butch van Breda Kolff was hired as general manager and head coach. The Tams signed Charlie Edge, traded Larry Kenon to the New York Nets for Jim Ard and John Baum and traded Johnny Neumann to the Utah Stars for Glen Combs, Ronnie Robinson, Mike Jackson and cash.

Tams came out as gay during the show's run by referring to a male partner during one of his post-performance interviews. This made him the first openly gay performer to win an Idol series in North America. He subsequently endorsed Adam Lambert in the 2009 edition of American Idol, and included two gay couples, one male and one female, in the video for his single "Lazy Lovers" Theo is also a fan of Ellen DeGeneres, and wants to be on her show. He also admires Mother Teresa and her work.

"Roy Bailey announces first ever live album" , "Folking", August 2016 The album contained songs written by Si Kahn, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, John Tams, Robb Johnson and others. Roy appeared at the very first Towersey Festival in 1965 and his well established Monday afternoon concert regularly drew a crowd of around 1000. Roy Bailey was an Emeritus Professor of Social Studies at Sheffield Hallam University. He was also the patron of Towersey Village Festival, Shepley Spring Festival and the Music on the Marr Festival based in the village of Castle Carrock, Cumbria.

Sharpe offers to get him to the surgeons, but Hagman's last words were, "Bugger them surgeons, Mr Sharpe." Hagman then dies in Sharpe's arms (Sharpe's Waterloo). In the TV adaptations he was played by John Tams, a noted English folk musician and composer, who arranged and sang much of the music used in the series. A number of differences exist between the character in the book and the TV character, notably that in the TV adaptation he is killed at La Haye Saint rather than at Sharpe's side.

He spent many years working at the National Theatre as a Music Director and as an actor. He appeared in the ITV series Sharpe as Chosen Man Daniel Hagman for five years, and co-wrote the music with Dominic Muldowney. In December 2009, Tams released a single of "Love Farewell" with the Band and Bugles of the Rifles. The recording of this song, dating from the Peninsular War, was for the benefit of Help for Heroes, a charity dedicated to supporting injured British service personnel and their families.

On July 17, 1974, Hayes, along with Mike Storen, Avron Fogelman and Kemmons Wilson, took over ownership of the American Basketball Association team the Memphis Tams. The prior owner was Charles O. Finley, the owner of the Oakland A's baseball team. Hayes's group renamed the team the Memphis Sounds. Despite a 66% increase in home attendance, hiring well regarded coach Joe Mullaney and, unlike in the prior three seasons, making the 1975 ABA Playoffs (losing to the eventual champion Kentucky Colonels in the Eastern Division semi-finals), the team's financial problems continued.

In July 1974, Wilson, along with Isaac Hayes, Al Wilson, Mike Storen and others, bought the Memphis Tams franchise in the American Basketball Association. They changed the team to the Memphis Sounds. They quickly built a strong roster, obtaining players such as Mel Daniels and Rick Mount. The team was the most successful pro basketball team that Memphis ever fielded; it finished fourth in the ABA's Eastern Division, advancing to the 1975 ABA Playoffs before losing the Eastern Division semifinal series four games to one to the eventual 1975 ABA champion Kentucky Colonels.

He then signed with the Memphis Tams of the ABA, where he appeared in only 3 games. He would later sign with the Detroit Pistons prior to the 1974–75 NBA season, and again with the Suns prior to the 1975–76 NBA season, but was waived by both teams before the start of the respective season. Layton would return to the NBA in the 1976–77 and 1977–78 seasons, playing with the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, respectively. He was waived by the Spurs on October 2, 1978.

Williams was built as the private vessel Grayling - described by sources both as a wooden-hulled screw steam yacht and as a motorboat \- in 1907 by B. Frank Wood at City Island, The Bronx, New York, for Justus Ruperti of New York City to a design by the firm of Tams, Lemoine, and Crane. Apparently she later was renamed Williams. The U.S. Navy eventually acquired Williams for use as a section patrol vessel during World War I. She was commissioned at New York City as USS Williams (SP-498) on 16 March 1918 with Chief Boatswain M. T. Moran, USNRF, in command.

Historically there is evidence of discrimination against Shi'a Muslims in recruitment for the country's military and domestic security services. The government funds all official religious institutions, including Shi'a and Sunni mosques, Shi'a ma`tams (religious community centers), Shi'a and Sunni waqfs (religious endowments), and the religious courts, which represent both the Ja'afari (Shi'a) and Maliki (Sunni) schools of Islamic jurisprudence. The Government permits public religious events, most notably the large annual commemorative marches by Shi'a Muslims during the Islamic months of Ramadan and Muharram. Islamic studies are a part of the curriculum in government schools and mandatory for all public school students.

After the proposal was approved, the lands between Churchville Avenue and the Baldwin Fair Association were designated as the perimeter for the new park, thanks to the planning of Staunton resident Captain William P. Tams, along with others. It came to be known as Gypsy Hill Park due to the many gypsies that camped in the area. In order to accommodate more park features, Staunton bought the Baldwin Fairgrounds, a local park which already had a slate of activities that drew people to the site. As the park grew, so did its attractions, including a zoo.

Songs from the Shipyards, Vol. 3 in the Unthanks' Diversions series, was released in November 2012. This is a studio-recorded album of songs from a soundtrack, compiled by the Unthanks, which was first performed live in February 2011 at Newcastle upon Tyne’s Tyneside Cinema to accompany the showing of a documentary film by Richard Fenwick about the history of shipbuilding on the Tyne, Wear and Tees. The album includes Elvis Costello's "Shipbuilding" and songs by Graeme Miles, Alex Glasgow, Archie Fisher, John Tams, Peter Bellamy and Jez Lowe, plus a centrepiece track, "The Romantic Tees", written by Adrian McNally.

One of the genes that contributes to intravasation codes for urokinase (uPA), a serine protease that is able to proteolytically degrade various extracellular matrix (ECM) components and the basement membrane around primary tumors. uPA also activates multiple growth factors and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) that further contribute to ECM degradation, thus enabling tumor cell invasion and intravasation. A newly identified metastasis suppressor, p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR), is able to suppress metastasis in part by causing specific proteases, such as uPA, to be downregulated. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) have been shown to be abundantly present in the microenvironments of metastasizing tumors.

Each episode of K-9 is approximately 25 minutes long, made for Disney XD (formerly Jetix) and Network Ten by Stewart & Wall Entertainment, in association with London-based distribution company Park Entertainment. The project is being overseen by Baker; the television series concept was developed by Australian writers Shane Krause and Shayne Armstrong, in association with Baker and Paul Tams. Krause and Armstrong are the primary writers for the series; four episodes were written by Queensland writer Jim Noble. The series is produced by Penny Wall and Richard Stewart of Stewart & Wall Entertainment Pty Ltd, and Simon Barnes of Park Entertainment.

The Kansas City Chiefs, of the American Football League, used their final pick in the 1967 draft (443rd overall) on Lattin as a prospective wide receiver. He went on to play with the Phoenix Suns, the Pittsburgh Condors, and the Memphis Tams, ending his professional career with the Harlem Globe Trotters from 1973 to 1976. Returning to school, Lattin earned his B.S. degree in business administration and started several successful business ventures including Your Maison Housing. Lattin was inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007.

Davis left the Tams as a free agent and went on to join the San Diego Conquistadors for the 1974–75 season. He shot 52.8% from the field in his first season, finishing among the league's top ten in field goal percentage, while averaging nearly twelve points and six-and-a-half rebounds per game. The following season, the Conquistadors were sold to new ownership, who renamed the team the San Diego Sails. Davis was one of only three players, along with Bo Lamar and Caldwell Jones, who were retained by the Sails for the 1975–76 season.

The then-New Orleans Hornets, Charlotte Bobcats, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies were also notable for wearing throwbacks of long-forgotten American Basketball Association franchises New Orleans Buccaneers, Carolina Cougars, Los Angeles Stars, Minnesota Muskies and Memphis Tams/Pros. The San Antonio Spurs also paid tribute to their predecessors Dallas Chaparrals, while the Bulls and the Washington Wizards did the same to a pair of former Chicago-based NBA franchises, the Stags and Zephyrs. The usage of throwback uniforms even inspired some NBA teams to acquire elements used from old uniform designs in creating new ones.

Many other small molecule kinase inhibitors block the receptors for the growth factors released, thus making the cancer cell deaf to much of the paracrine signaling produced by CAFs and TAMs. These inhibitors include Sunitinib, Pazopanib, Sorafenib and Axitinib, all of which inhibit platelet derived growth factor receptors (PDGF-Rs) and VEGF receptors (VEGFRs). Cannabidiol (a cannabis derivate without psychoactive effects) has also been shown to inhibit the expression of VEGF in Kaposi's sarcoma. Natalizumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets a molecule responsible for cell adhesion (integrin VLA-4) and has promising in vitro activity in B cell lymphomas and leukemias.

John "Jumpin' Johnny" Baum (born June 17, 1946) is a retired American basketball player. Born in Philadelphia, he played collegiately for Temple University. A and 200 lb (91 kg) forward, he was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 15th round (187th pick overall) of the 1968 NBA draft and by the Chicago Bulls in the second round (23rd pick overall) of the 1969 NBA draft. He played for the Chicago Bulls (1969–71) in the NBA and for the New York Nets (1971–73), Memphis Tams and Indiana Pacers (1973–74) in the American Basketball Association (ABA) for 244 games.

In addition another ex-member of Fairport, Richard Thompson, contributed songs and backing vocals. Having assembled the principal contributors and an ambiance that encouraged their friends to drop in, Hutchings gave Tams the freedom to act as the project's musical director. They were joined by Philip Pickett on shawms, bagpipes, curtals and trumpet, Pete Bullock on synthesiser, piano, clarinet, sax, and organ, Michael Gregory on percussion, Ric Sanders on violin and violectra and Graeme Taylor on electric and acoustic guitars. Kate McGarrigle, Julie Covington, Linda Thompson, Pat Donaldson, Martin Carthy, Andy Fairweather-Low and Dave Bristow make guest appearances.

There are two main European alternatives: Selectrix, an open Normen Europäischer Modellbahnen (NEM) standard, and the Märklin Digital proprietary system. The US Rail-Lynx system provides power with a fixed voltage to the rails while commands are sent digitally using infrared light. Other systems include the Digital Command System and Trainmaster Command Control. Leading by as much as 11 points in the fourth quarter, the Eagles came back with a 14-2 run to gain the lead, 58-57. On the 2nd they opened the month at home against the Utah Stars and won 105–100 before 1,230 fans. Another win came two nights later in Memphis as the Q's bested the Tams 112–101 before 2,285 fans. The following night the Conquistadors took their improved 11–14 record to Denver but lost a lopsided game to the Rockets, 138–108, in front of 3,773 fans. On the 7th came another loss, 121–113, in front of 7,158 fans on the Utah Stars' homecourt. The following night saw a home loss to the Spurs, 95–85, with attendance at 1,624.

On December 11 Wilt Chamberlain's bench role became final as an arbitrator ruled that, due to the option year on his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers (later thrown out in the Oscar Robertson suit), Chamberlain was bound to the Lakers for the season and could not play for San Diego. December 12 saw the Q's prevail 119–113 on the Indiana Pacers' home court; Bo Lamar had 30 points, as did Indiana's George McGinnis. 6,831 turned up for the Pacers game; only 1,200 were announced the following night in Memphis as the Q's defeated the Tams 107–104.

Other major figures who recorded for Topic included Peggy Seeger, The Watersons, Shirley Collins, June Tabor and John Tams. The breadth of the Topic catalogue was evident in the release of The Voice of the People (1998), a twenty-part series sampling the earliest and greatest of folk singers of the British Isles. In 2009, the label celebrated 70 years of activity with the release of a seven-CD hardback book set entitled Three Score & Ten - A Voice To The People. In 2012, this venerable old label began to re-release many of the LPs from its early catalogue in digital form.

The rear classroom wing was removed and a new 7th and 8th grade wing was built in its place. The center of the building was renovated and brought up to current building codes, creating new classrooms out of the old art room, main office, expanding the old cafetorium to a regular cafeteria, created a new art suite in the old library, expanded music facilities, and generally modernized the building. The project was designed by the TAMS Consultants firm. Today, the Amesbury Middle School and the Charles C. Cashman Elementary School make up some of the more modern school buildings in the area.

With this line up the band began working on their third album, attempting to use their considerable talents to the full and overcome the problems that had limited their previous work. The result, Alright Jack (1985), was built around an arrangement of six folk songs by Percy Grainger. There were also three other traditional tunes, but the most striking element of the album were Tams' compositions, which bracketed the traditional material on both sides, including the title track, the apocalyptic and uplifting "Sorrow/Babylon" and the haunting "Scarecrow". Alright Jack was the group's greatest achievement and almost their last.

Tams was born in Holbrook, Derbyshire, the son of a publican. He left school at 15 without any qualifications and went to Chesterfield Technical College where he spent two years on a GCE course, concentrating on the arts. He first worked as a reporter for the Ripley and Heanor News, and then as an editor on the Belper News - where he notably interviewed the then deputy prime minister George Brown - and for the Alfreton Observer. He also worked for BBC Radio Derby and BBC Radio Nottingham, and as a freelance reporter for the Melody Maker and the New Musical Express.

In January, 1925, the company was formed as a merger of the Arthur W. Tams Music Library (1870) and the M. Witmark & Sons Music Library. At that time, the company managed the works of such notable composers as John Philip Sousa, Franz Lehár and Victor Herbert. Shortly after consolidation, it also began to manage music by George and Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse. It added to its collection during those early years two of its most popular works, Anything Goes and Girl Crazy, on which was based the musical Crazy for You.

The Tams version was released as a single in 1968, in the US, and was a moderate success, peaking at #26 on the R&B; singles chart and #61 on the Hot 100. Sometime later, in March 1970, it peaked at #32 in the UK Singles Chart. It has since become one of the most popular beach music songs, especially in the American South, where the song and the group enjoy continued popularity and recognizability, as do all of the hits by the group. The song is also still popular in the United Kingdom amongst fans of Northern soul.

To give the story more exposure for the upcoming film release, DreamWorks Pictures and the licensee of the original play, The Tams-Witmark Music Library, announced they would pay the licensing fees for all non-professional stage performances of Dreamgirls for the calendar year of 2006. DreamWorks hoped to encourage amateur productions of Dreamgirls, and familiarize a wider audience with the play. As a result, more than fifty high schools, colleges, community theaters, and other non-commercial theater entities staged productions of Dreamgirls in 2006, and DreamWorks spent up to $250,000 subsidizing the licensing.Olsen, Mark (December 12, 2006).

Dumont was born in 1941, the son of the former Helen S. Williamson and Wayne Dumont, Jr. of Phillipsburg, New Jersey. His father served more than 30 years in the New Jersey Legislature and was the Republican candidate for Governor of New Jersey in 1965. He received his B.A. degree from Lafayette College and his LL.B. from Seton Hall University School of Law. He worked in the Newark law firm of Stryker, Tams & Dill, and then was recruited to work for the United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Frederick B. Lacey, from 1969 to 1971.

The concerto is scored for solo percussion and an orchestra comprising two flutes, two oboes (2nd doubling cor anglais), two clarinets (2nd doubling bass clarinet), bassoon, contrabassoon, four horns, three trumpets, three trombones, tuba, timpani, two percussionists (glockenspiel, two marimbas, tuned gongs, siren, bass drum, suspended sizzle cymbal, tam-tams, tubular bells, tom-tom drums, snare drum, two suspended cymbals, two triangles, thunder sheet), harp, piano, and strings. Whitley's songwriting credits include "What Kind of Fool (Do You Think I Am)" (which reached #9 on the Billboard charts), "I've Been Hurt", "Hey Girl, Don't Bother Me", "You Lied to Your Daddy", and "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy" (co-written with J.R. Cobb of the Atlanta Rhythm Section) for The Tams. His compositions were also recorded by Billy Joe Royal, Tommy Roe, Guy Darrell, The Swinging Medallions, Bill Deal and the Rhondels, Mylon LeFevre and Sonia Evans. Whitley toured nationally as a performer, in addition to his work as a songwriter. He was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in the early 1990s.

The yacht was built in 1902 as a private steam yacht Rheclair designed by Clinton H. Crane of Tams, Lemoine & Crane and built by the Burlee Dry Dock Company of Staten Island, New York as hull number 234 for Daniel G. Reid, Commodore of the Atlantic Yacht Club.Vessel registers show the name spelling as Rheclair but some news and other reports use Reclair. Rheclair was launched 10 February 1902 and assigned the official number of 111412 and the call letters KRQN on registration. Registered dimensions and specifications were tonnage of 367 net tons and 539 gross tons, registered length, length overall, and at the waterline with an extreme breadth of .

As this is not a BBC production, direct references to Doctor Who are not legally allowed for rights reasons. However, Baker and Tams have confirmed that this K9 is the original K9 Mark I, who appeared in Doctor Who from The Invisible Enemy (1977) to The Invasion of Time (1978). This model was last seen in the possession of Leela on Gallifrey; in the first episode, the robot dog is damaged and undergoes a "regeneration" into a new, more advanced form capable of flight. He then explains that most of his memory was damaged, so he cannot remember anything about himself or his past.

In the 1980s, beach music enjoyed a major revival in the Carolinas, thanks largely to the formation of a loose-knit organization known as The Society of Stranders (SOS). Originally intended as a relatively small social gathering of shag enthusiasts, "beach diggers" and former lifeguards meeting yearly in the Ocean Drive section of North Myrtle Beach, S.O.S. quickly grew to become a major Spring event. The Tams and Chairmen came back to Beach Music scene. At around the same time, a fanzine called It Will Stand (from the song of that name by The Showmen) began to delve into the history of beach music.

He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and began playing drums as a child. He worked as a professional musician from his early teens, and over the years performed with such musicians as James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, the Tams, the Drifters and Gladys Knight and the Pips. On June 13, 1972, the team and its debts were purchased by Charles O. Finley, who also owned Major League Baseball's Oakland A's and the NHL's California Golden Seals. Legendary former University of Kentucky head coach Adolph Rupp became team president. The winning entry in a "Rename the Team" contest was the Memphis Tams, perhaps one of the few entries that could be said to have been even less likely than "Pros." The nickname was an acronym for Tennessee – Arkansas – Mississippi, and the logo was a tam o'shanter-style hat in white, green and gold, which were also the new team colors, shared with the Athletics and Golden Seals.

The Bitter Withy or Mary Mild (Roud #452) is an English folk song reflecting an unusual and apocryphal vernacular idea of Jesus Christ. The withy of the title is the Willow and song gives an explanation as to why the willow tree rots from the centre out, rather than the outside in. The song was recorded by the Kingston Trio on their album The Last Month of the Year. English folk artist John Tams recorded the song on his album 'The Reckoning' (2005; won 2006 the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for the 'Best Album') and is contained in 'The Definitive Collection' (2007) also.

Shortly after the release of The Emerald City in 2011, Doane was asked to audition for the role of "Song Woman" in Mirvish's Toronto production of the acclaimed play War Horse. She was offered the role and began rehearsals for the production in December 2011. The play opened at the Princess of Wales Theatre in February 2012 to rave reviews, and eventually closed after a successful run on January 6, 2013. Of Doane's role in the production, Toronto Star's Richard Ouzounian wrote: > Through it all, the soaringly symphonic score of Adrian Sutton contrasts > with the simple songs selected by John Tams, sung here with poignant effect > by Melanie Doane.

Tams explains that his second album, which will be released in 2011 will be a real "artist" album in so far as it will showcase just exactly who he is and what he stands for as a singer- songwriter. It will dig deeper emotionally than his debut album and represent almost a "song diary" that comes from a mixture of his life experiences since "Give It All Away" and from other parts of his life before his Idol experience. One of his new songs focuses on his experience in Afghanistan. Theo has already begun the intense writing process with one of his heroes, who will also be producing the record.

The score calls for 3 flutes (1st doubling bamboo flute, 2nd doubling alto flute, 3rd doubling piccolo), 2 oboes, cor anglais, 3 clarinets (3rd doubling E-flat clarinet and bass clarinet), 2 bassoons, contrabassoon, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, bass trumpet (in the hall), 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, mark tree, Turkish crescent, crash cymbals, 4 suspended cymbals, 2 tam-tams, tambourine, snare drum, bass drum with cymbals, ratchet, crotales, 3 temple blocks, tubular bells, church bells, glockenspiel, xylophone, marimba, harp, piano (doubling celesta), and strings. The score also calls for choir and features soprano, mezzo-soprano, and baritone soloists. The score also requires 50 ocarinas from the choir at various tunings.

Sleeve notes for Alright Jack reissue (Fledg'ling, 1997). The original line-up was: John Tams (vocals, melodeon), Bill Caddick (vocals, guitar, dobro), Graeme Taylor (vocals, guitar), Michael Gregory (drums), Roger Williams (trombone, tuba), Howard Evans (trumpet), Colin Rae (trumpet) and Malcolm Bennett (bass). The large group was somewhat unwieldy and complicated by other projects, including the fact that both Evans and Williams were also members of Brass Monkey. Rae soon left and the remaining members initially chose the name 'The First Eleven' and then switched to Home Service, which had both associations of Britishness/Englishness and of a bygone world in the defunct BBC Home Service radio station.

The album made good use of their two experienced songwriters, Tams and Caddick, and the arranging talents in the group for a mixture of original songs and traditional tunes. The result was favourably reviewed, but suffered in retrospect from the fragmented nature of the recording process among their busy schedules, leading to a lack of spontaneity. Theatre productions continued to dominate the group's existence, particularly Brydon’s trilogy based on the Wakefield cycle of mystery plays known as The Mysteries. Augmented by other musicians, including Linda Thompson on vocals and Andy Findon on saxophone, clarinet and flutes, they released a selection of the music as The Mysteries in 1985.

It then turns west to follow the Norfolk and Western Railroad and flows through the communities of Big Stick and McAlpin. At McAlpin, it turns to the south to run along County Route 30 and West Virginia Route 16; this portion of the creek flows through the communities of Stotesbury, Tams, Ury, and Helen. Stonecoal Creek flows into Winding Gulf from the east in Stonecoal Junction, and shortly past their confluence, Winding Gulf flows into the Guyandotte River from the north in Amigo. According to 1992 U.S. Geological Survey data, 92.54% of the Winding Gulf watershed was forested; 3.99% was used for agriculture, 1.67% for mining, and 1.82% for other uses.

By 1984, Richbourg was dying from lung cancer. His wife, Margaret, and singer Jackey Beavers, a longtime associate, organized a benefit concert to help pay the announcer's steep medical bills. The March 26, 1985 show, held at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House, included numerous artists who were featured in John R.'s broadcasts: James Brown, B. B. King, the Neville Brothers, Rufus Thomas, The Tams, The Coasters, gospel singer Bobby Jones (who then hosted a local TV program), and Beavers (now the pastor of a Cartersville, Georgia church) himself. In his book, Wes Smith commented that James Brown gave one of the best performances of his career at the event.

However, Carrier opted instead to sign with and play for the Kentucky Colonels of the rival American Basketball Association (ABA). Carrier was a three-time ABA All-Star with the Colonels (1968, 1969, 1970), teaming with Louie Dampier to form the most explosive backcourt in the ABA; in each of the league's first three seasons, both averaged at least 20 points per game. Carrier played for the Memphis Tams during the 1972-73 season and then retired from pro basketball with 7,011 career points. He is a member of the ABA All-Time Team and had the highest career 3 point shooting percentage in ABA history.

The band took part in a 1977 TV show Here We Come A-Wasseling and in 1978-9 collaborated with playwright Keith Dewhurst for a stage adaptation of British author Flora Thompson’s Lark Rise to Candleford, tracks from which were released as an album in 1980. The band was probably at the height of its mainstream profile at this point, getting its own BBC Arena documentary that explored their work. While Hutchings was more interested in pursuing theatrical possibilities, many members of the band wanted to be a touring and recording band and, despite critical acclaim, this line-up split. Tams, Taylor and Gregory went on to form the nucleus of Home Service.

Following the third modulation, the four brass ensembles, specified by Berlioz to be placed at the corners of the stage but more commonly deployed throughout the hall, first appear with a fortissimo E-flat major chord, later joined by 16 timpani, two bass drums, and four tam- tams. The loud flourish is followed by the choral entry, "Tuba mirum", a powerful unison statement by the chorus basses at the top of their register, followed by the rest of the choir. There is a recapitulation of the fanfare, heralding the coming of the Last Judgment ("Judex ergo") by the full choir in canon at the octave. The choir whispers with woodwinds and strings to end the movement.

The four-time national player often called "Gerry" owns the distinction of being the only Filipino basketball star that can be proud to be recruited to play abroad. In 1959, Cruz was drafted to play for the University of San Francisco Dons and he did have a short stint until he was recalled to Manila by his employer Baby Ysmael. Gerry saw action in one Olympics (Rome, 1960), one world championship (Santiago, Chile, 1959), one Asian Games (Jakarta, 1962), and one Asian Basketball Confederation (Taipei, 1963). Cruz played for the FEU Tamaraws in his rookie year in 1956 and his heroics in the championship match against UST gave the Tams the UAAP varsity crown.

The article noted that its versatility was another reason for current popularity: "it can be twisted and folded into the close-fitting shapes that are so remarkably becoming...it lends itself admirably to...all kinds of embroidery or needlework stitched apparently at random over it". A year later, The Guardian reported that the tam was: "dominating the small-hat system" in women's fashion. Describing this ubiquitous millinery design in more detail, it added: "Nor are the present tams by any means tam-like in shape. They are elongated or heightened or squared or triangularised...The tam is merely a sort of envelope which can be pulled about over an under-structure, the shape of which is all important".

Warren Lee Davis (born June 30, 1943 in Atlantic City, New Jersey) was a Forward/Center for the Anaheim Amigos (1967–68), Los Angeles Stars (1968–70), Pittsburgh Pipers (1970), The Floridians (1970–71), Carolina Cougars (1971–72) and Memphis Pros/Memphis Tams (1972–73) of the American Basketball Association. He was drafted in 1965 by the NBA's New York Knicks in the 6th round (2nd pick, 46th overall). He was named to the 1968-69 ABA West All-Star Team. In 6 seasons he played in 447 Games, played 13,090 Minutes (29.3 per game), had a .480 Field Goal Percentage (2,022 for 4,215), .125 Three Point Field Goal Percentage (2 for 16), .

The park contains two belvederes, the more prominent of which is the Kondiaronk Belvedere, a semicircular plaza with a Mount Royal Chalet overlooking Downtown Montreal. Built in 1906, it is named for the Petun chief Kondiaronk, whose influence led to the Great Peace of Montreal in 1701. Other features of the park are Beaver Lake (a small artificial lake), a snow tube and toboggan run, cross-country skiing trails, a sculpture garden and Smith House, an interpretive centre. At the foot of the hill, overlooking Park Avenue, the park features the George- Étienne Cartier Monument (home to the Tam-Tams) and a gazebo (more properly, a bandstand) which has been named in honour of Mordecai Richler.

The 1974–75 Memphis Sounds season was the fifth and final season of basketball in Memphis in the American Basketball Association (ABA). Charles O. Finley had failed in running the Tams, and he let the league take the team from his reigns after two years. On July 1974, a group led by Isaac Hayes, Avron Fogelman, Kemmonis Wilson, and former ABA Commissioner Mike Storen (who resigned on July 17, 1974) took the team over. The team was renamed to Sounds, and players were soon dealt to and away from Memphis. The March 28, 1975 game saw 8,417 see a victory over the New York Nets 111-106, the largest crowd to see the Sounds in years.

The George-Étienne Cartier Monument in Mount Royal Park, Montreal The Sir George-Étienne Cartier Monument is a monument in Montreal, Quebec, in the Mount Royal Park to George-Étienne Cartier by sculptor George William Hill (1862–1934). The George-Étienne Cartier statue on the monument The monument, which is topped by a winged Goddess of Liberty, was inaugurated on September 6, 1919 in the heart of Fletcher's Field west side. In temperate months it is the site of free weekly drum circle festivals informally called Tam-Tams. On the front, or East side of the monument, George-Étienne Cartier is portrayed standing above four other figures, each one representing a Province that signed the Canadian Confederation of 1867.

Despite winning their first four games, FEU did not make it to the Final Four. It was a string of losses for the Tams as they lost three straight games to end their season; the first being with the Archers when they are guaranteed to have a twice to beat advantage with a win. The second was against the Bulldogs' 84–81 victory in overtime after a controversial 77–75 win was ordered to be re-played by the UAAP Boards because of the "inconclusive and unclear" video evidence of RR Garcia's buzzer beating layup. Another loss came from the hands of the Archers, when they battled for a fourth-seed playoffs.

They found over time that a static field of pegs provided a more enjoyable experience for the player; the path of the ball would be more predictable, leading to the gameplay mechanic of requiring only a random subset of orange pegs to be cleared. Once the team had established the core mechanics of the game, they brought on character artist Walter Wilson, background artist Marcia Broderick and an additional coder, Eric Tams, to help complete Peggle within its two- year development period. Even with their game established, Sidhu and Rothstein faced internal challenges at PopCap to increase the level of interactivity with the game, but the two defended their vision of the game.

Gordy began his career as a studio musician in Atlanta in 1964 when he was asked to fill in during a performance by Tommy Roe at a local concert. A week later he got the proverbial phone call; on the other end of the line was Joe South, an Atlanta- based record producer who had covered Roe on guitar alongside Gordy the week before. Soon Gordy was working alongside Roe, Mac Davis, The Tams and Freddy Weller, as well as touring with Lou Christie, and Billy Joe Royal. With Buddy Buie and J.R. Cobb, he is a co-writer on the Classics IV hit "Traces", listed as number 32 in BMI's Top 100 Songs of the Century.

Since signing to Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) Canada in 2004 as a songwriter, McMaster's melodic and lyrical contributions have adorned such multi-platinum, gold albums and other projects by Rihanna, Nick Lachey, Kyle Riabko, Rex Goudie, Kalan Porter, Eva Avila, Theo Tams and Marc Jordan. In early 2008, McMaster co-wrote "Let's Start From Here" with Vincent Degiorgio and Damhnait Doyle, for American-born, bilingual Taiwanese singer and songwriter Joanna Wang. "Start From Here", released in both English and Chinese, reached # 1 in Taiwan and has been popular throughout the Southeast Asian region, including Japan, with its corresponding album Start Here selling more than 200,000 copies. The association with UMPG Canada ended in 2012.

The Colonels next hosted a game in Cincinnati on December 14, defeating the Memphis Tams 115-94 despite Johnny Neumann's 25; attendance was 2,164, a very low total for Kentucky. The next night in Denver the Colonels defeated the Denver Rockets 120-114; Dan Issel poured in 46 points before 3,890 fans. The next night, December 16, saw Kentucky win on the road 106-101 against the San Diego Conquistadors despite Stew Johnson's game- high 43 for San Diego before 1,764 fans. The Colonels returned to action on December 19, losing a close one on the road to the New York Nets 83-82; Julius Erving led all scorers with 30 and 7,493 attended.

When River tells Doralee about the cause of a young mute girl's silence, Doralee realizes that River has an unusual power, but assumes this means that River is a witch and must therefore be burnt at the stake. Simon appeals to the villagers, but when these efforts fail, he instead takes his place next to his sister, prepared to die with her. At this moment, Serenity swoops over the village, Jayne dangling from its hold with a large weapon at the ready, while Mal and Zoe stride in and rescue the Tams. As Serenity leaves Jiangyin, Simon asks Mal why he came back for them, and Mal explains off-handedly that Simon is part of his crew.

In the Tams' quarters, River reminisces about her fun with Kaylee, but her chaotic thoughts intrude on her, despite Simon's treatments. Elsewhere, Book chides Kaylee and Jayne for trying to steal a peek at Inara's arriving client, who turns out to be a woman, against the crew's expectations. (Jayne's lecherous response, "I'll be in my bunk," becomes a running gag throughout the episode.) Preparing the shuttle for their business rendezvous, Zoe and Mal discover that it has been sabotaged by Wash, who demands that he go with Mal to the meeting. He explains that he wants to take Zoe's place at Mal's side, so they don't bring back yet another tale of adventure-laden bonding.

She then finds Jayne and Shepherd Book in the kitchen, where she "hears" Jayne repeat his confession to Mal about selling out the Tams on Ariel, and Book mutter an angry but cryptic statement hinting at his less wholesome past. River continues to wander the ship and is moved by the sound of ocean waves as Zoe and Wash passionately kiss on the nearby bridge. Above the cargo bay, as Mal and Inara discuss her impending departure, River sees their unspoken frustrations over their unrealized relationship. None of the people she encounters are aware of her presence - except when speaking directly to her - making it clear that this is River's mind "walking" telepathically through the ship.

Leonora is also significant as it was the first grand opera written by an American composer. Visitors at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church Several churches located along the avenue, such as Big Bethel AME and First Congregational, helped build and maintain the heritage of the street. The Royal Peacock Club provided an elegant setting where many African Americans could perform and bring the changing styles of black popular music to Atlanta. Originally called the Top Hat Club when it opened in 1938, the club hosted local talent and national acts such as B.B. King, the Four Tops, the Tams and Atlanta's own Gladys Knight. One of the many significant commercial buildings within the district is the Atlanta Life Insurance Company.

Bass' professional coaching career started with the ABA's Denver Rockets (now the Denver Nuggets) in 1967, which he coached for two years. Tams Bixby (1855-1922) was best known for his work on the Dawes Commission, which was formed to formally enroll members of the Indian tribes that were to be allotted portions of the tribal lands in what would become Oklahoma, and prepare for the abolition of the tribal governments before the territories could be accepted as a state. Named as a commission member in 1893, he was elevated to chairman after Senator Dawes' death in 1903. In that position, he was the official custodian of over two million of acres of land whose ownership was being transferred from the tribes to individual members. The organization he led numbered at least 500 people and occupied a large special- purpose building erected in downtown Muskogee.

Government policy and practice contribute to the generally free practice of religion. Members of other religious groups who practice their faith privately do so without interference from the Government and are permitted to maintain their own places of worship and display the symbols of their religion, such as crosses and statues of deities and saints. The Government funds all official religious institutions, including Shi'a and Sunni mosques, Shi'a ma`tams (religious community centers), Shi'a and Sunni waqfs (religious endowments), and the religious courts, which represent both the Ja'afari (Shi'a) and Maliki (Sunni) schools of Islamic jurisprudence. Noma docked in San Francisco in 1915 Noma was a large steam yacht, designed by Tams, Lemoine & Crane and built by the Burlee Dry Dock Co. of Staten Island, New York, Yard No. 235, and launched on 11 February 1902. She was built for William Bateman Leeds, the "Tin Plate King", who had married Nonnie May Stewart Worthington in 1900 and the following year sold his tin-plate business to US Steel for $40 million. The yacht measured when built, with a lengths of (pp) and (oa), a beam of , and a draught of . Noma's two 4-cylinder triple expansion steam engines, also made by Burlee Dry Dock, totalled 518 nhp, drove twin screws and gave her a speed of 19 knots.

2 (The Unthanks with Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band), released in July 2012. It is a studio-recorded album of songs from a soundtrack, compiled by The Unthanks, which was first performed live in February 2011 at Newcastle upon Tyne’s Tyneside Cinema to accompany the showing of a documentary film by Richard Fenwick about the history of shipbuilding on the Tyne, Wear and Tees.A DVD of the film was included, alongside the compilation CD Archive Treasures 2005–2015, in The Unthanks' Memory Box package released in December 2015. The album includes a cover version of Elvis Costello's "Shipbuilding" and songs written by Graeme Miles, Alex Glasgow, Archie Fisher, John Tams, Peter Bellamy and Jez Lowe, plus a centrepiece track, "The Romantic Tees", written by Adrian McNally.

As the plays ended the audience, suddenly torn from their participation in the re-created world, recognised the value of a way of life, close to the land and countryside, that they could never know for themselves. In Dewhurst's words, his audience was to recognise the “common humanity” linking the nineteenth-century villagers and the contemporary audience. “It is a most extraordinary event...It will send most spectators out wiser and happier human beings...one of those rare theatrical occasions with a genuine healing quality”, wrote theatre critic Michael Billington of The Guardian. In the same way as Dewhurst was able to draw on Thompson's words for his text, the musical directors for the productions, John Tams and Ashley Hutchings, made use of traditional songs as the basis for the score.

Hall wrote: "Black music helped broaden my musical horizons and open my eyes and ears to the widespread appeal of the so-called 'race' music that later became known as 'rhythm and blues". Hall's successes continued after the Atlanta-based agent Bill Lowery brought him acts to record, and the studio produced hits for Tommy Roe, Joe Tex, the Tams, and Jimmy Hughes. However, in 1964, Hall's regular session group — David Briggs, Norbert Putnam, Jerry Carrigan, Earl "Peanut" Montgomery, and Donnie Fritts — became frustrated at being paid minimum union-scale wages by Hall, and left Muscle Shoals to set up a studio of their own in Nashville, Tennessee. Hall then assembled a new studio band, including Spooner Oldham, Jimmy Johnson, David Hood, and Roger Hawkins, and continued to produce hit records.

The show not only revolved around the actual lives of hosts Anthony and Behrendt, but the universe they’d created through expanding that reality into absurdity, often through the use of nicknames and catchphrases. The most notable recurring storylines involved the chronicles of Anthony's neighborhood, but topics ranged from comedy and show business (like a story about Dane Cook casually trying to steal one of Behrendt's classic bits), to family life, prison and candy (particularly Australian biscuits, Tim Tams). Walking the Room labelled itself a "podcuddle," and its hardcore fans, known as “Cuddlahs” (or “Customers”), were described as “Clown from the Neck Down.” The show built upon itself more than most podcasts, which can be attributed to their ever-evolving real-life cliffhangers, as well as the podcuddle-specific language they continually generated.

The team that eventually became the Baltimore Claws had earlier competed in the ABA as the New Orleans Buccaneers from 1967 through 1970, as the Memphis Pros from 1970 through 1972, as the Memphis Tams from 1972 through 1974 and as the Memphis Sounds during the 1974–75 season. The Memphis franchise had struggled through the years and in its last season there it had relied on the league itself to handle some of its bills. The Sounds began the 1974–75 season with a win followed by several losses; fan interest waned but the team rallied to finish in fourth place in the ABA's Eastern Division. In the playoffs they lost in the Eastern Division semifinals to the eventual league champion Kentucky Colonels, 4 games to 1.

Promotional poster from early in the series development, back when it was titled K9 Adventures In 2006, Jetix Europe announced that they were "teaming up" with Baker, Tams, and London-based distributor Park Entertainment to develop a 26-part series, then titled K9 Adventures and set in space. This announcement, timed to coincide with K9's return to Doctor Who in the episode "School Reunion", was picked up in the British media and Doctor Who fan press. In 2007, Park Entertainment revealed that the main setting for the series (by then retitled K-9) would be the Platte, "an old Prairie-class spacecraft" once used for asteroid colonization. In addition to K9, the characters would include Slocum, a thirty-something "space gypsy", and Djinn, "an overactive computer module in the shape of an attractive young woman".

Stations with similar playlists began to emerge in the Carolinas and surrounding states throughout the late 1950s and the 1960s, increasing the popularity of the music across racial lines and contributing to the increasing popularity of the emerging new gospel-infused R&B; sound, soul music. Among the most popular and influential R&B; artists who produced "beach records" in the 1950s and 1960s were the Dominoes, the Drifters, the Clovers, Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, the Tams, the Tymes, the Temptations, the Four Tops, and the Chairmen of the Board. Beginning in the 1960s, pop records that had the right tempo came to be included within the beach music genre. Among the best-known examples are "More Today Than Yesterday" by the Spiral Starecase, and "Build Me Up Buttercup" by British soul band the Foundations.

Davie remained in touch with Taylor during the next three years or so and, following the split-up of Gryphon, was introduced to Taylor's fellow Albion Band alumnus Ric Sanders (now a long-established member of Fairport Convention) who wanted to form a new jazz-influenced band with a fellow ex-member of Soft Machine, John Etheridge. This led to the formation of 2nd Vision who recorded the album First Steps for Chrysalis records in 1980. Davie was touring Europe with Dave Bristow (keyboards) and Mickey Barker (drums) as part of a jazz trio employed by Yamaha to showcase their instruments when Taylor once again appeared on the scene and asked Davie if he would care to join Home Service. As a fan the Albion Band that included John Tams and Michael Gregory, the offer was eagerly accepted.

The revered Choctaw Indian warrior and statesman Chief Pushmataha, namesake of the Pushmataha District in the Choctaw Nation, was similarly honored by the framers of Sequoyah, who designated a county in his honor. Neighboring counties were to be named for territorial and U.S. officials, including Bixby County for Tams Bixby (contiguous with today’s Atoka County, Oklahoma) and Hitchcock County for Ethan Allan Hitchcock (contiguous with today’s Choctaw County, Oklahoma). Sequoyah’s framers drew county boundaries to respond to the Public Land Survey System established by the American government for the Indian Territory. With its orderly grid of townships and ranges, it was deemed well-suited for the demands of a modern society. The Choctaw Nation’s counties, while drawn with great thought and using recognizable, logical landmarks as their county borders, would not be economically viable after statehood.

In 2005, Van Morrison played to three thousand in the grounds of Marston House a nearby stately home. Steeleye Span appeared and more than two hundred players and singers performed Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius, at the festival's annual Summer School. 2006 welcomed Paul Merton, and also included Tony Benn, Roy Bailey, The Troggs, Barry Cryer, Miles Kington, Peter Donohoe, The Mangledwurzels, Rory McLeod and John Tams. In 2009, 187 events took place over the ten days, including The Levellers, The Imagined Village, Imelda May, Adrian Edmondson’s band The Bad Shepherds, and Still Black Still Proud, starring Pee Wee Ellis, South Africa's The Mahotella Queens, and London-based Ghanaian rapper Ty. The ninth Frome Festival paid special tribute to Benjamin Baker, the Frome engineer who designed the Forth Railway Bridge, with a series of talks and exhibitions.

It ends with the cast (sans Marques Houston) walking into each other, then getting themselves together over changing cloud backdrops, one which features two roadsigns, before the title logo appears. The cast's surnames are animated and in a variant of the show's logotype. This was the only time the intro remained exactly the same, though, by season four, the intro became a bit outdated as Tia and Tamera dropped the wavy hair, tams and plaid outfits for straight hair and trendier fashions, and Roger stopped wearing braids. The final two seasons used a music video-style sequence, designed by Paramount Digital Design; Marques Houston remained in the sequence despite his appearances on the series decreasing midway through the fifth season, and Houston was replaced in the sequence by RonReaco Lee and Deon Richmond for the sixth season.

In 2006, BBC Radio 2 broadcast six new radio ballads using the same format, with musical direction by John Tams, and contributions from Karine Polwart, Jez Lowe and Cara Dillon among others. The following ballads were broadcast between February and April 2006: The Song of Steel on the decline of the Sheffield and Rotherham Steel Industry (27 February); The Enemy That Lives Within, on HIV/AIDS (6 March); The Horn of the Hunter, on Foxhunting (13 March); Swings and Roundabouts, on Travellers who run fairgrounds (20 March) Thirty Years of Conflict; on The Troubles in Northern Ireland (27 March); and The Ballad of the Big Ships, on the shipyards of the Tyne and the Clyde, (3 April). All were later released on CD, and a separate CD was also released containing a selection of the songs drawn from across the series.

The artist Edward Dalziel used the words of this hymn below his engraving of the English downland with animals, even though the engraving did not have any snow in it. The tune has been re-used in a variety of social protest and union songs in the late 20th century, beginning with "Coal, Not Dole", written in the mid-1980s by Kay Sutcliffe about the closing of the Kent coal fields to a tune by Paul Abrahams, but later reset to Goss's tune at the suggestion of John Tams and recorded by Coope Boyes and Simpson. Shelley Posen wrote "No More Fish, No Fishermen" in 1996 about the end of the cod fishery in Newfoundland. Australian John Warner wrote "Bring out the Banners" on the 150th anniversary of Australia's eight-hour work day rule in 1996.

Vustin assigned certain instruments and singing styles to the characters. Alvare uses declamation, and is accompanied by violin and trumpet, while Biondetta is songful, accompanied by three saxophones. In an extended love duet, Alvare turns more to singing, and the instrumental colours are more and more mixed.

On November 2 the Colonels notched a road win against the New York Nets, 121-109; John Roche led all scorers with 41 points before 8,678 fans. The two teams met again the next night in Louisville and the Colonels prevailed again, 93-87; the 11,277 fans in attendance saw Roche and Dan Issel lead all scorers with 29 apiece. On November 7 the Colonels hosted the Memphis Tams; attendance was 6,834 as Kentucky won 113-89 behind Issel's 30 points. On November 9 the Colonels hosted the Carolina Cougars in Cincinnati; 6,194 saw the Cougars win 139-110. The next night in Louisville Issel's 31 points led Kentucky to victory over the Virginia Squires 111-107 before 7,988 fans. November 14 saw a rematch with the Carolina Cougars in Louisville and the Colonels again came out on the short end, 107-102, despite Issel's 27 points before 8,121 fans.

Ellen Crean, Time To Toss Your Tam; Mary Tyler Moore's Minneapolis Statue, CBS News, The Early Show, May 9, 2002 Many in the press were skeptical of TV Land's motive at first, some claiming it was a marketing strategy, and one Macalester College professor stating that it was "like honoring a unicorn." Moore herself unveiled the statue, where 3,000 tams were distributed to the crowd of onlookers so they could participate in a commemorative hat toss. The Dayton's department store in the background of some of those scenes (later a Marshall Field's and a now closed Macy's) has changed considerably in appearance. The exact spot where the cap toss occurred has been debated extensively, because the layout along Nicollet has changed substantially since the early 1970s; the actual backdrop of the toss, the Donaldson's department store kittycorner to the site, was destroyed in 1982 by the Minneapolis Thanksgiving Day Fire.

Many pitched acoustic instruments are designed to have partials that are close to being whole-number ratios with very low inharmonicity; therefore, in music theory, and in instrument design, it is convenient, although not strictly accurate, to speak of the partials in those instruments' sounds as "harmonics", even though they may have some degree of inharmonicity. The piano, one of the most important instruments of western tradition, contains a certain degree of inharmonicity among the frequencies generated by each string. Other pitched instruments, especially certain percussion instruments, such as marimba, vibraphone, tubular bells, timpani, and singing bowls contain mostly inharmonic partials, yet may give the ear a good sense of pitch because of a few strong partials that resemble harmonics. Unpitched, or indefinite- pitched instruments, such as cymbals and tam-tams make sounds (produce spectra) that are rich in inharmonic partials and may give no impression of implying any particular pitch.

Formed in 1995, The Rockerz were a group of experienced studio and live musicians who performed with such artists as Marshall Tucker, Molly Hatchet, Classic Rock AllStars, Southern Rock AllStars, David Allan Coe, Dennnis Yost & the Classics IV, The Tams, The Drifters, and Archie Bell & the Drells. The Rockerz on stage in Atlanta (1997) L to R: Mike, Steve F, Wes, Stevie G, JT The original lineup of The Rockerz included Steve Guettler on vocals and rhythm guitar, Jeff Strickler on bass guitar, Steve Farrell on lead guitar, Wes Armstrong on drums, and in 1997 the addition of Mike Wilson on keyboards. Early rehearsals were held at Castle Studios in the Lawrenceville suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, beginning in 1995. The Rockerz first performed live together at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, then toured as back-up band to Dennnis Yost & the Classics IV and Archie Bell & the Drells during the 1990s.

The Devils of Loudun is scored for enormous musical forces, including nineteen soloists, five choruses (nuns, soldiers, guards, children, and monks), orchestra, and tape. The orchestra itself is of a great size too, making use of a very particular blending of instruments. The orchestra is composed of four flutes (alternating two piccolo and one alto), two English horns, an E♭ clarinet, a contrabass clarinet, two alto saxophones, two baritone saxophones, three bassoons, a contrabassoon, six horns, four B♭ trumpets (alternating one D trumpet), four trombones, two tubas, percussion (4 players), twenty violins, eight violas, eight celli, six basses, harp, piano, harmonium, organ, and bass electric guitar. The percussionists play timpani, military drum, friction drum, bass drum, slapstick, five wood blocks, ratchet, guiro, bamboo scrapers, cymbals, six suspended cymbals, 2 tam-tams, 2 gongs, Javanese gong, triangle, tubular bells, church bell, sacring bells, musical saw, flexatone, and siren (not mentioned in the instrumentation list at the beginning of the score).

On November 23 the Colonels lost 118-114 on the road to the Indiana Pacers as George McGinnis put in 37 points with 10,079 on hand. The next night the Colonels held court in Cincinnati again and defeated the San Diego Conquistadors 124-121 before 3,421 fans; Dan Issel and Artis Gilmore each score 30 for Kentucky. On November 26 the Colonels' home court was in Bowling Green, Kentucky (in the home gym of Western Kentucky University) and 10,453 turned out to see Kentucky lose their third straight to the Carolina Cougars, 94-82, despite Issel's game-high 27. On November 28 the Colonels drew a capacity crowd (10,146) in the San Diego Conquistadors' home gym and though Issel led all scorers with 36 the Conquistadors won 104-99. The next evening saw the Colonels on the road again, squaring off against the Memphis Tams; Issel scored 32 in front of 5,106 fans and Kentucky won 102-92.

This unusual composition takes 10 minutes to perform. It is score for a very large and powerful set of instruments. It is mentioned in the score that two or three of the bells from the second bell set should be made of 24-karat gold.

This suite for orchestra is divided into four movements and takes around 14 minutes to perform. The scoring can be divided into three groups: first, a full orchestra (two flutes, two piccolos, two clarinets in B-flat, a bassoon, two horns, a trumpet in C, a large percussion section consisting of a xylophone, a glockenspiel, a side drum, a woodblock, a tambourine, four tom-toms, claves, two suspended cymbals, a hi-hat, two large tam-tams and two very large tam- tam, and a string section consisting of twelve first violins, twelve second violins, eight violas, eight cellos, and four double basses); then, an amplified solo group consisting of an oboe, a cor anglais, a trumpet in B-flat, a harp, a celesta, and a piano; finally, an off-stage string quintet consisting of two violins, a viola, and two cellos. The movement list is as follows: The general tone of the suite is sensual and atmospheric. Tempo variations are frequent in the dances, but the tempo is generally slow and calm in the first and third movements.

They had two daughters and a son. The eldest was Mary Cohan Ronkin, a cabaret singer in the 1930s, who composed incidental music for her father's play The Tavern. In the 1950s, George Jr. reinterpreted his father's songs on recordings, in a nightclub act, and in television appearances on the Ed Sullivan and Milton Berle shows. George Jr.'s only child, Michaela Marie Cohan (1943–1999), was the last descendant named Cohan.

Elliott's images have been published extensively in the media and licensed for use in CD covers, promotional material and live performances with commissions by record companies, record labels and independent music artists, and his work has been exhibited in throughout the UK, Europe, and the USA. In 2011, Elliott was approached by specialist music book publisher Rufus Stone and released his debut book, TEN-A Decade In Images of his favourite images from ten years of the legendary Cambridge Folk Festival. It was officially endorsed by the folk festival organisers Cambridge City Council and included quote by some of the musicians featured in its pages such as Richard Hawley, Fairport Convention, John Tams, The Levellers, and Steve Earle. Elliott went on to release a follow-up book, 50Folk as a personal celebration of 50 years of the festival in 2014 and a year later released third book, Three Weeks One Summer, documenting the pop band The Marmalade during the making of their Penultimate project of a CD, DVD, and vinyl record with promotional booklet all shot by Elliott A fourth book, Ice Cream & Sun Cream, was released in 2017 and was entered for an award at the Vienna Photo Book Festival.

With the New York Nets in 1969–1970, Hunter averaged 16.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, playing under Coach York Larese for the 39–45 Nets. Hunter averaged 16.1 points and 6.0 rebounds in a seven-game playoff series loss to the Kentucky Colonels. Overall, Hunter played six seasons (1967–1973) in the ABA with the Minnesota Muskies (1967–1968)/Miami Floridians (1968–1969), New York Nets (1969–1971), Kentucky Colonels (1970–1972), and Memphis Tams (1972–1973).

The Conquistadors opened the new month with a home win on its first day, defeating the Indiana Pacers 124–119 despite George McGinnis' 38 points; San Diego's attendance problems continued as only 1,237 fans came to the game. February 3 brought another home victory for the Q's as they defeated the Virginia Squires 107–104, with 1,058 in attendance. On February 6 the Conquistadors, in front of 1,236 fans, took their home win streak to three games by defeating the Memphis Tams 136–120. The streak went to four on February 8 as the traveling San Antonio Spurs lost 120–105 as Bo Lamar put in 48 points in front of a crowd of 1,326. On February 10 the Q's, now 25–34, had their home win streak come to an end as the Utah Stars prevailed 120–107 despite Bo Lamar's 30 points. On February 13 the Conquistadors lost at home to the Indiana Pacers, 128–119; 1,066 attended. February 17 saw another San Diego home win and improved attendance as the Conquistadors took down the Carolina Cougars 129–123 in front of 1,866 as Travis Grant put in 41 points. Another home win came on February 20 as the Q's defeated the Utah Stars 109–97 in front of 1,184 fans.
