Mohammadi Kheri is a small town & also a tahsil in Lakhimpur Kheri district. It is well known for a flower named "ketki". The proverbs about that it is only growth here in this town instead of anywhere. Dudhwa National Park, is in Lakhimpur Kheri and is the only national park in Uttar Pradesh.

He published the book Asaar-us-sanadeed (Great Monuments) documenting antiquities of Delhi dating from the medieval era. This work earned him the reputation of a cultured scholar. In 1842, he completed the Jila-ul-Qulub bi Zikr-il Mahbub and the Tuhfa-i-Hasan, along with the Tahsil fi jar-i-Saqil in 1844.

In 1854, the Nagpur Police had five hundred men with a Daroga in each Tahsil and Naib Daroga and Jamadars posted in small Thanas and the Burkandaz (Sepoys) distributed as per requirements. The revenue department was merged into the Nagpur police. The Nagpur police were re-organized after new Central Provinces were formed along with Berar.
Lakshman Shastri was born in a Deshastha Brahmin family in 1901 to Balaji and Chandrabhaga Joshi, in the village of Pimpalner, tahsil sakri,Dhule district in the present-day state of Maharashtra. He left home at age 14 after studying to be a priest. He finally settled in Wai, a historic temple town on the banks of the Krishna river. Kunwara bhivsen is a small village in the Ramtek tahsil, 28.969 km. (18 miles) north of Nagpur on the bank of the river Pench. A hill by the village contains the remains of an old fort, its summit being encircled with walls made of ponderous masses of rock. The lines of defence over the pathway leading up the hillside are constructed with some skill and are attributed by the people to the Gavalis, There is a temple dedicated to Bhivsen.

Full view of the chaityagriha stupa complex in Lalitgiri Lalitagiri is a major center of Buddhism hemmed between the Parabhadi and Landa sandstone hills in the standalone Assian hill range. The Baein (also spelled Bein, ) is a large sandy torrent which rises in Jammu to the north of Shakargarh and running through the centre of the tahsil falls into the Ravi. It is formed by the combined waters of the Tarnah and Bhabban. It is joined by the Hodla at Khanna and by the Dehr at Saroch. The bed is in places over a mile wide and is composed of deep sand through which in the cold weather only a shallow narrow stream of water flows.
This Raj jat yatra originates from Nauti village 25 km from Karnprayag, in Karnprayag tahsil of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The greater part of the tahsil was uncultivated. It included on the south a narrow strip of the Sutlej valley, from which it rises abruptly into the desert uplands lying between the old banks of the Beds and the Ravi. It comprises a slightly undulating switch of country covering portions of Etawah and Bharthana and the bulk of an Auraiya Tehsil of Auraiya District. The tract includes the parts of some tehsils that adjoins the river Yamuna. Beyond the Yamuna, stretching from the borders of tahsil Bah in Agra to the confluence of the Sindh, Kuwari, Chambal and Yamuna rivers, lies the high and broken country formerly known as Janibrast. In May of that year, the district was reorganised so far as to constitute six tahsils, those of Meerut with 323 estates; Sardhana with 154; Baghpat with 277; Muradnagar with 266; Hapur with 329; and Mawana with 289. In 1859 the headquarters of Muradnagar tahsil was transferred to Ghaziabad, the same arrangement continuing till now. All the villages within five miles (8 km) of the railway bridge on the Yamuna were transferred from this district to the Delhi province on 1 April 1915, the area thus lost being or approximately .
On the northern bank of the river, in the village Laukathi, were the tahsil cutcheries of the principal landlords of the subdivision. With the influx of population from the districts of Dhaka, Faridpur and Barisal a good market, a middle English school and a charitable dispensary were gradually established and trading firms opened up business. The high school and the Begum Hospital were probably the most important public institution in the town that time. The high school was established in 1887 and a hostel attached to the school in 1904.
Toba Tek Singh was developed by the British toward the end of the 19th Century when a canal system was built. People from all over the Punjab (currently Indian and Pakistani Punjab) moved there as farmlands were allotted to them. Most of the people who migrated there belonged to Lahore, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur District. The Imperial Gazetteer of India described the tehsil of Toba Tek Singh as follows: Tahsil of the new Lyallpur District, Punjab, lying between 30°50' and 31°23' N. and 72° 20' and 72°54' E., with an area of 865 square miles (2,240 km2).
Syed Lutuf ullah shah, who was seventh in descent from Khwaja Naqr-ud-din Shah, accompanied Mir Nasir Khan 1 of Kalat (1749–1817) to Persia and was rewarded on his return with the revenue-free holdings of Chashma Shiekh Manda and Sadiq Karez in the Quetta tahsil and with two "angusht" of water at Dhader. The latter is now held by another branch of the family. Syeds are said to have rendered some service during the First Afghan War (1839–1842), their leading man being named Mubarak Shah. The principal men among the Sadat of Kirani received allowances from the Levy Service.

The Katol tahsil has a total area of , of which 56 are comprised in Government forest. Katol has, on the whole, the poorest soils of the four tahsils as regards composition, although it has all the kali soils of the first class in the District . The percentages of the various soils are 2 for kali, 55.9 for morand, 28.5 for khardi and 13.2; for bardi. Nevertheless, from an agricultural point of view Katol is the most advanced of the four tahsils, and its lands produce kharif crops as valuable as the wheat of the other tahsils.
Mirokhan is one of the oldest taluka / tahsil (a district administration or revenue subdivision in India / Pakistan) situated in Qambar Shahdadkot District (Previously Larkana District) of Sindh province of Pakistan. It was established in 1915 and was considered to be the largest tehsil by area before the division of the Larkana district into Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts, its own division into Mirokhan and Sijawal tehsils. Situated about 55 km away from the Indus valley's most famous site Mohenjo-daro, 27 km from Larkana. Mirokhan is famous for shrine of a great Islamic scholar and saint, Mian Hamidullah Huzuri (Huzuri Badshah).
The tehsil was described by the Imperial Gazetteer of India, compiled over a century ago during British rule as follows: Haripur Tehsil of Hazāra District, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, lying between 33° 44′ and 34° 18′ N. and 72° 33′ and 73° 14′ E., with an area of 657 square miles. It is bounded on the north-west by the Indus. The tahsil consists of a sloping plain, from 1,500 to 3,000 feet high, through which the Siran and Harroh flow. Low hills are dotted here and there over the plain. The population in 1901 was 151,638, compared with 142,856 in 1891.
Jambavan is also been associated with Jamthun village in Ratlam tahsil of Madhya Pradesh and Jambuvan Cave of Ranavav Taluk of Porbandar, Gujarat state. Avani is also known as the Gaya of the south and has ancient temples known as the Ramalingeshwara, Lakshmaneshwara, Bharateshwara and Shatrugneshwara, dating back to the period of the Nolamba Dynasty. When Sri Narasimha Bharati IV of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham was on his sancharas, he camped here for a few days. During his stay here, in Avani, he found an idol of Goddess Sharada, in standing posture flanked by Srimajjagadguru Adi Shankaracharya and the Sri Chakra.
Moreover, Mammadov engaged in pedagogical activities, taught philosophy, history of Azerbaijani philosophy and history of Eastern philosophy in higher education institutions. Mammadov was a member of expert council on ‘History, theology, philosophy, psychology and pedagogical sciences’ of High Attestation Commission under President of the Republic since 1997. Because Mammadov's whole researches were based on primary sources, he did his utmost for bringing those works to Azerbaijan. Till his researches Bahmanyar's two small size treatises ‘The Subject of Metaphysics’ and ‘Degrees of Beings’ had been known. The researcher revealed his large size work ‘Education’ (Kitab at-tahsil).
Dhaneswar Khera (sometimes also referred to as Danesar Khera) is located near the village of Icchāwar or Nicchāwar in Jaspura Tahsil, Banda District, Uttar Pradesh, India. The bronze statue was discovered in the nineteenth century with two others and published by William Hooey and Vincent Arthur Smith in 1895. The 1915 Gazetteer of Mianwali District recorded Shia phobia as follows: "All the Pathan clans, excepting a small number of Shias Kazilbash Pathans in Bhakkar tahsil, are very strict Sunnis and very particular in the matter of prayers, fasts, etc. They have a great hatred of the Shias and Rafzis. An orthodox Pathan regards tazia with the greatest repugnance. The influence of Sunni governors too seems to have led to the very general profession of the Sunni faith by the bulk of the mixed Jat population, though the Biluches have as a rule adhered to the Shia faith".
Campierganj (on the name of British "station master" of this railway station) also called as Chaumukha, is a small Town in the province of Uttar Pradesh in north India, approximately 34 kilometres north of Gorakhpur city near the border with Nepal on National Highway-24 (NH-24) in Gorakhpur District. It is believed that Mayura Varma, and Narasimman the Kadamba King who ruled vast areas of southern and central India in the 4th Century A.D. brought Brahmins from Ahi Kshetra (or Ahichatra) and put them in-charge of various temples in Tulu Nadu. Ahi Kshetra is mentioned in the Mahabharata as lying north of the Ganges, and as being the capital of Northern Panchala. It is apparently the Adisadra of Ptolemy, and its remains are visible near Ramnagar in Tahsil Aonla in Bareilly district. The Brahmins who first landed in Shivalli in Tulunadu and then spread across 31 villages came to be known as Shivalli Brahmins or Tulu Brahmins.
In the 4th century BC Kalahandi region was known as Indravana from where precious gem- stones and diamonds were collected for the imperial Maurya treasury. Around the 1st to 3rd century AD ancient Kalahandi [Atavika land] had a commercial and sociocultural relationship with the Chedi of Kalinga and Kusana empire of the northwest. In Amaravati stupa inscription the land is designated as Mahavana. Tel river is a major tributary of Mahanadi rising in the north of Umarkote Tahsil in Nabarangpur district, it passes through few km in Chhattisgarh and then enters into Kalahandi, Balangir district and finally meets Mahanadi in Sonepur district near Manamunda.
In the archive of Tahsil Tijara, dated 1070 AH shows the 'Mafi Bagh' in the name of Qazi Abdul Baqi. Qazi Abdul Baqi had two sons Qazi Ghulam Mohiuddin and Qazi Ghulam Murtaza and died on 30 Jumada al-awwal 1113 AH / 1701 AD. The elder daughter of Qazi Abdul Baqi was married to Abu Saeed bin Abdul Ghaffar of Sakras, while the younger daughter Khwanda Daulat Bint was married to Syed Chajju of Mohina. Syed Chajju had four daughters and four sons Syed Zainuddin, Syed Tajuddin, Syed Imamuddin and Syed Shamsuddin. Syed Zainuddin was married to Ummatullah daughter of Qazi Ghulam Murtaza of Tijara.
Limba Ram was born in Saradeet Village (Jhadol tahsil, Udaipur district, Rajasthan state, India) on January 30, 1972. His family belongs to the Ahari tribe and because of poverty, Limba Ram relied on hunting birds like sparrows, partridges as well as other animals in the jungle with his indigenous bamboo bow and reed arrows. In 1987, one of his Uncles brought news that government would be conducting trials in the nearby village of Makradeo to train good archers. At this trial, 15-year-old Limba Ram and three other boys (among whom was future Arjuna Award winning Archer Shyam Lal) were spotted by selectors of the Sports Authority of India.
Tahawar Ali was married to Fahimun Nisan, daughter of Abdul Qayyum ibn Ghulam Nabi (from Dotana, a village in Peepaloo Tahsil in Tonk district in Rajasthan) and had four sons Abdur Razzak, Ibrahim Ali, Yusuf Ali and Yaqub Ali. Fahimun Nisan remained in Tijara after the death of Tahawar Ali even when all her sons left for Bhopal. She died on 10 Muharram 1301 AH / 1883 AD. # Abdur Razzak (born 4 Rajab 1254 AH / 1838 AD) went to Bhopal at the age of 22 years on the invitation of his maternal cousin Munshi Hakimuddin. In 1276 AH / 1859 AD, he joined the services as Assistant Collector Customs and Excise.
He was also invited to another meeting by Benjamin Francis Bradley in Manchester with some Trade Union executives. Ali was also known to have visited Dundee before proceeding off to Switzerland with Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Abdul Mannan Chaudhury for the International Labour Conference in Geneva where he put forward the proposal for a 56-hour week at sea and a 48-hour week at port balance for Indian seamen. As World War II approached Britain, Ali, Alley and Tahsil Miya played crucial roles in breaking the deadlock between British ship-owners and Asian lascars. Umred-Pauni-Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary, about 58 km from Nagpur and 60 km from Bhandara, is spread over Pauni Tahsil of Bhandara district and Umred, Kuhi and Bhivapur Taluka of Nagpur district. This sanctuary has a connection with Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve through the forest along Wainganga river. The sanctuary is home to resident breeding tigers, herds of Gaur, wild dogs and rare animals like flying squirrels, pangolins and honey badgers. It is bounded roughly by the Wainganga river and the Gose Khurd Dam on the northeast, State Highway 9 and Bhiwapur Town on the south, Umred on the west and a narrow 10 km long range of 600 – 800 m hills to the northwest.

The Nanwag Rajputs (also known as Nandwak, Nanwak, and Nagbak) are a branch of the Kachwaha Rajput community (or Bais Rajputs) in what is now the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. In the 16th century, they seized a portion of Pandrah pargana and ruled there for many years before losing it to a Punjabi and Brahmans.
