However the Dive of Death, as posters announced, including its On Fire Into Fire sub-title, left little to the imagination exactly what the purpose of the equipment was for. The tank and tower both extreme in their respective small and high proportions. All of them were undertaken in accordance with Channel Swimming Association rules, in just a pair of Speedo swimming trunks, cap and goggles. He became the first person to swim around the infamous North Cape, the northernmost point in Europe. The following year he became the first person to swim down the entire length of Sognefjord in Norway, a swim which took him 21 days to complete.

For instance, the beating of the stars of the comic of a concurrent newspaper with different political views in episode #1 and the begging, mutilated World War I veterans in episode #2 were cut from the story in the 1949 edition.

The documentary is separated into two sections: The first part took place in the Three Gorges Region in China in 2005, recording down the working process of painter Liu Xiaodong with his painting project ‘Hot Bed’ that portrays the dam workers in the region who were experiencing migration due to the construction of Three Gorges dam. The second part then follows Liu’s journey in Bangkok, Thailand in 2006 where he invited 11 female sex workers being his models for another painting. In October 2013, the Law Minister Nancy Shukri announced that the Government would be removing the proposed Clause 5 amendment to the Penal Code, which proposed fining or jailing anyone charged with desecrating the Jalur Gemilang or a foreign flag for a term of between five and fifteen years. She clarified that provisions for safeguarding the national flag would be added under the proposed National Harmony Act. Nine Australian men, the 'Budgie Nine', were arrested after celebrating the 2016 Malaysian Grand Prix by stripping to their 'budgie smuggler' swimming trunks, decorated with the Malaysian flag.
Combining yoga and his knowledge of physiology in freediving, Severinsen became a record holder of four AIDA freediving world records. He achieved two Guinness World Records in 2010: in March that year he swam 236 feet (72 meters) under ice wearing only swimming trunks and goggles, exceeding Wim Hof's record of March 2000 by 47.6 feet (14.5 meters); and in April, after inhaling pure oxygen, he held his breath for 20 minutes and 10 seconds in a tank full of sharks at the Kattegat Centre in Grenaa. In April 2013 in Qorlortoq Lake in east Greenland, he set two new world records for "longest swim under ice - breath held": 500 feet (152.4 meters) while wearing a wetsuit and monofin, taking 2 minutes, 11 seconds, and the following day, 250 feet (76.2 meters) wearing only swimming trunks. He announced that these would be his last record attempts and he would now concentrate on teaching. Severinsen was chosen "The Ultimate Superhuman" on the Discovery Channel programme Superhuman Showdown, and a documentary about him, Stig Severinsen: The Man Who Doesn’t Breathe, was produced for broadcast on Discovery and on Quest in the UK in October 2013. In Breatheology Severinsen proposes that through working with the breath, a link can be created between body and mind that enables a person to control stress, increase energy, perform better physically and mentally, alleviate pain and improve health.

Richie and Eddie return home in the afternoon from the pub, having bought a last-minute 75% discounted seaside holiday to Bridlington, leaving that night at midnight, from dodgy travel agent Bob McMayday – which actually costs £4000 and is actually located in inland Doncaster (it is described in the episode as being a 25-minute drive from Bridlington, but it is actually 62 miles away from Bridlington and the drive between the two towns would take over three times that amount of time). As usual, the two make unlikely plans about getting sex on the holiday. While Eddie announces that he will be making a "mysterious phone call", Richie is overexcited and goes upstairs to try on his swimming trunks, which turn out to be an impossibly small thong, which requires Eddie's assistance (and the violent use of both a hammer and welding torch) to remove. After the thong incident, Richie decides that they both need to spend the afternoon losing weight to improve their sex appeal, and a series of unsuccessful attempts follows.

Greta Garbo is also on the surface of the ocean — riding the waves, with her extremely large elongated shoes serving as a combination water skis and double surfboards. Then, as Cesar Romero sunbathes on the beach, John Barrymore, wearing a full-body striped bathing suit, arrives and enunciates in the overly-precise manner of old-time Shakespearean actor, "I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him" and, using a child's bucket and shovel (to the accompaniment of Chopin's Funeral March), begins to pile scoops of sand on top of Romero's buttocks, clad in swimming trunks.
