Flight behavior in populations of P. plantaginis vary between color morphs and are under frequency dependent selection. In outdoor cage experiments of populations with various frequencies of yellow and white male morphs, researches found that white morphs were significantly more active and had longer periods of sustained activity than yellow morphs across all treatment groups. In groups with higher frequencies of yellow morphs, overall flying activity for both morphs was considerably lower. In the early 1960s, Žilnik joined Kino Club Novi Sad, which was a state-sponsored club for nonprofessional film enthusiasts. This is where Žilnik received his first practical experience in making films. Many of his films were shown on the large kino club film festival circuit in Socialist Yugoslavia. Frankenbok The following year (2004) included the 'Army of Darkness' tour with Sunk Loto, Full Scale and 8 Foot Sativa as well as further touring the east coast with Walk the Earth (producer DW Norton's group) and Frankenbok's first live dates overseas, touring New Zealand with local band 8 Foot Sativa in late 2004 on the 'Hatred Forever' tour. The 2005 edition of Metal for the Brain saw Frankenbok play both the Canberra (the traditional venue) and Brisbane (for the only time in the event's history) dates. Despite sustained activity on the live front, including another string of dates in New Zealand with 8 Foot Sativa in April, longtime guitarist Scott Lang left the group in late 2005 for professional reasons, relocating overseas to Hong Kong. Fans were surprised when Frankenbok appeared at Brisbane's Overcranked Festival in early 2006 with Adam B. Metal now occupying the second guitarist slot as well as supplying vocals.

Given the shorter operational range of the Typhoon compared to the Mustang and generally inferior quality of the reconnaissance photography from the Typhoon brought about by the transmission of engine vibrations to the airframe, the Typhoon FR.Ib only ever equipped one flight of the squadron, the other two flights continuing to operate Mustang Mk.IA aircraft. The Typhoon eventually proved not to be suitable for the tactical reconnaissance role, and they were retired from the squadron by the end of November 1944 to be replaced by more Mustangs, this time the North American Mustang Mk.II. In early August 1944 the squadron moved to the continent and then commenced a period of high mobility moving behind the advancing Allied armies and sustained activity providing reconnaissance coverage of the ever changing frontline and enemy rear areas. The squadron was heavily involved in reconnaissance sorties covering the German retreat from France, including the Falaise Gap, retreat over the Seine, and pursuit of the Germans through Belgium and the Netherlands. Again losses were suffered, but during this period, they tended to be more from flak rather than enemy fighter opposition.
