Ahmed was called for national team for 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, he was an unused sub for the first three matches against Lebanon, Thailand and Sri Lanka. He made his international debut on 26 May 2001 in an 8–1 loss to Lebanon, coming on as a half-time substitute for Asadullah. He got his first start against Thailand on 28 May 2001 in a 6–0, where he was substituted off on 85th minute for Amir Riaz. On 30 May 2001, he got his first full cap against Sri Lanka in a 3–1 loss. Although Peck was not the popular choice among staffers at Barry & Enright Productions, Barry and producer Ron Greenberg continued to groom the frequent sub for the position. The plans were to have Peck take over the hosting position permanently at the beginning of the 1984-85 season, with Barry announcing his retirement on-air and handing the show over to his successor. However, on May 2, 1984, Barry suddenly died of cardiac arrest in New York City shortly after filming for the seventh season of The Joker's Wild had concluded. Upon Barry's death, his partner Dan Enright took control of the production company and over Peck, hired Bill Cullen, who was finishing up his run as the host of another Barry & Enright-produced program, NBC's Hot Potato.
In late 2014, Steven Weinmeister departed Firefall after almost twenty two years but did return in January 2015 for the Colorado Music Hall of Fame induction and to sub for an ill Bartley later that same year, in August. He was succeeded by singer/guitarist Gary Jones (who'd previously subbed for Weinmeister for the one aforementioned gig back in November 1999 and for a few other shows in September 2014). Since late 2014, Firefall has toured with a lineup of Jock Bartley, David Muse, Sandy Ficca, Mark Andes and Gary Jones. On January 9, 2015 Firefall was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame with Poco, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Stephen Stills, and Manassas at the Paramount Theater in Denver.
He played the friendly match against Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal as starter. Due to the injuries incurred by Esteban Cambiasso, Sulley Muntari and Rene Krhin, Stevanović was named in the squad for the first league match after the winter break, against Chievo, but again didn't get any playing time. A couple of days later, after Patrick Vieira left for Manchester City on 8 January 2010, Stevanović made his Serie A debut the very next day on 9 January at home versus Siena by coming on as a sub for Thiago Motta in the 67th minute. Head coach José Mourinho made the substitution in direct response to Siena taking the 3–2 lead on a goal scored two minutes earlier.
He also made a pivotal defensive play in the fifth inning of Game 5. When Lou Brock tried to score from second base on a single to left field, Brock was tagged out on a throw from Horton that hit Freehan's glove on the fly. Horton was the only African American position player to start for the team. Mickey Stanley covered center field for the 1968 Tigers, won a Gold Glove Award at the position and led all American League outfielders with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Prior to 1968, Stanley had been used mostly as a backup outfielder, but an injury to Al Kaline expanded his playing time, as Jim Northrup moved to right field to sub for Kaline.
On 31 August 2011, hours before the transfer deadline Villarreal completed a transfer for de Guzmán, the deal was for an undisclosed fee believed to be worth around €8.5 million. De Guzmán made his debut on 10 September as a second half sub for Javier Camuñas during a 2–2 home draw against Sevilla. Days later de Guzmán made his return to European competition since his move to Spain on 14 September against Bayern Munich in a 2–0 defeat in the first game of the UEFA Champions League group stage. De Guzmán scored his first goal for Villarreal on 22 November against Bayern Munich, the game ended in a 3–1 away defeat in the second last match in the Champions League group stage.
Still, Clea took Giganta with her and managed to flee - and they stole a huge chest filled with Amazon jewels, too. Clea tried to anonymously buy a submarine from Steve Trevor to return to Atlantis (why she needed a sub is unclear, possibly she wanted the weaponry onboard), but Trevor recognised her and played along to capture her. He was knocked out by Giganta, and Clea and her aide decided to capture the Holliday Girls and maybe Wonder Woman to force him to give them a submarine. This sort of worked, and they forced Wonder Woman to steal a US Navy sub for them - but Clea and Giganta were recaptured before their sub could fully dive, and reimprisoned by the Amazons.
Johnson made his return to action in City's pre-season match against South African team Orlando Pirates during the Vodacom Challenge, but a strain picked up in the warm-up for the next match ruled him out."Injured trio progress well" Manchester City F.C. Retrieved 25 August 2011 Johnson made his first appearance of the 2009–10 season on 28 September 2009 in a 3–1 victory over West Ham United, coming on as a sub for Gareth Barry. On 10 December 2009, Manchester City announced that Johnson had suffered a serious knee injury in training which ruled him out of action until the end of the season.
As part of Randy Waldrum's experimentation with the Dash's backline (that saw Rocarro, Bruna, Van Wyk, Polianna, Levin, Privett, and Daly all get starts), Privett started twice at the center back position on May 20 at Sky Blue and May 27 vs Seattle. Interim-head coach Omar Gonzalez solidified this back line with Levin-Van Wyk-Brooks-Poliana after a shutout victory in Orlando on June 24, starting a 6-game unbeaten streak for the Houston Dash. With Morgan Brian suffering from injuries and Amber Brookes playing on the backline, Privett started at the defending midfield position on July 2 at Kansas City, June 8 vs Portland, and June 15 vs Washington. On June 22nd vs Boston, she played defensive midfield as a 60th minute sub for Morgan Brian.
This caused alarm in Moscow, with the Soviet media accusing him of "warmongering" and "mistakenly believing that stepping up the arms race will bring peace to the world". General Nikolai Ogarkov also commented that too many Soviet citizens had begun believing that any war was bad and peace at any price was good, and that better political education was necessary to inculcate a "class" point of view in world affairs. An event of grave embarrassment to the Soviet Union came in October 1981 when one of its submarines ran aground near the Swedish naval base at Karlskrona. As this was a militarily sensitive location, Sweden took an aggressive stance on the incident, detaining the Whiskey-class sub for two weeks as they awaited an official explanation from Moscow.
Two years later, he made his second appearance for Ireland against Switzerland, winning the Man of the Match award, setting up Ciaran Clark for the only goal of the game. He was called up for Euro 2016, but was an unused sub for the first two matches against Sweden and Belgium. In the final group game of the tournament Duffy came into the team and a heroic performance helped secure an historic victory against Italy to propel the Republic of Ireland into the last sixteen. He was sent off for a professional foul on Antoine Griezmann as the Republic of Ireland were knocked out Euro 2016, losing 2–1 to France. A year later on 2 September 2017, Duffy scored his first Republic of Ireland goal, in a 1–1 draw against Georgia.
The Star Hotshots tapped the services of Marqus Blakely for the fifth time while search for bigger imports continues. Blakely is the smallest import recruited in the tournament, and they found a bigger import Daniel Orton but they have to wait until February as Orton's contract in the Chinese Basketball Association expires, prior to that Blakely will play until Orton comes and will sub for him if an injury occurs. The Hotshots won their debut game of the tournament, 83–70 against GlobalPort. Blakely finished with 26 points, 18 rebounds and 7 blocks. On their second game, The Hotshots won against Alaska with a 20-point blowout. Alex Mallari lead the way with 17 points. They also won their third game, against Blackwater with the score of 98–86. They also won their fourth game of the tournament, against NLEX, 87–62.
With a daunting eight fixtures scheduled for the month, Martin Ling endeavoured to strengthen the squad with the signing of Ryan Jarvis on loan from League One Walsall. Jarvis had previously played under Ling at Leyton Orient but had recently failed to cement a regular place in the Saddlers' first team and so was allowed to the join the Gulls until the end of the season. Jarvis made his Torquay debut when he came on as a sub for the injured Danny Stevens in the month's first fixture, a tricky tie away to Crawley Town. Also making his debut for the Gulls was Angus MacDonald who came in for the suspended Brian Saah. The young defender gave an assured performance in his first ever League appearance to help Torquay gain a 1–0 victory over their promotion-chasing rivals.
In the late 1990s Fechino began sitting in with the Pat McGee Band, often to sub for their regular guitarist, Al Walsh, when he was unable to make a gig. He eventually lent a hand in recording their major-label debut, Shine. Fechino moved to Los Angeles in 2001, and on January 19 he was asked to play on the band's appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, after which he was made a full member of the band. Fechino's role with PMB is much wider than his guitar duties; he earned the nickname "Techno" from his bandmates for his soundboard skills, and has mixed and/or produced several of the band's projects including the EP Drive-By Romance, the bonus acoustic tracks on the Kirtland release of Save Me and the Wolf Trap portion of the Vintage Stages Live DVD.
Savićević's great performance against France put him in Osim's good books, for the time being at least, as he got a chance to start the next qualifier at home versus Cyprus in December 1988. Dejan, still officially in his army service, returned the favour, scoring a hat-trick as Yugoslavia won 4–0 at Marakana. The following qualifier in late April 1989 was a crucial one away at France and Osim decided not to play Savićević, choosing instead to continue with his older regulars up front such as Zlatko Vujović, Sušić, and Baždarević as Yugoslavia eked out a hard-fought scoreless draw at the Parc des Princes. Savićević would also not play in the next qualifier away at Norway, returning only as a second-half sub for Dragan Jakovljević in September 1989 at Maksimir in Zagreb versus Scotland.
Busch would leave the team following the fall Talladega race for Furniture Row Racing, and was supposed to be replaced by Regan Smith (the former driver with Furniture Row) until Dale Earnhardt, Jr. suffered a concussion in the aftermath of the Talladega race and Smith was needed as a sub for the Charlotte and Kansas races in the Chase. A. J. Allmendinger, coincidentally also released from Penske, in the No. 22 car, due to a failed substance test, drove the No. 51 for those two races, with Smith returning later in the year. Regan Smith in 2013. For 2013, the team returned full-time, fielding a number of different drivers. The team signed Guy Roofing, a company from the team's hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina, as the sponsor for the Daytona 500 and two other early season races.
The next few years saw Sobel playing on a number of tours and recording jobs including playing on the new version of "Heavy Action" (the Monday Night Football theme on ESPN) and touring with American Idol second runner up Elliott Yamin who scored a top ten smash in 2007. Teaching jobs also followed with a faculty position in the drum department at Musician's Institute in Hollywood, which led to appearing and performing at various drum clinics and festivals in several countries such as Drum Daze in Columbus, Ohio, the Laguna Drum Festival in Mexico and various clinics throughout Asia and Europe. In September 2010, Sobel got a last minute call to sub for an injured Matt Laug on the Vasco Rossi 2010 Indoor Tour of Italy. The tour saw crowds in excess of 40,000 people and Sobel filled in for five weeks.
Following a loan spell at Conference North side Tamworth, where he played eight times as the club won the division, Dudley made his debut for Derby County as an 84th minute sub for Stephen Pearson in a 3–1 defeat away to Watford on 3 May 2009. For the 2009/10 season Dudley was given the squad number 33, but was not involved in first team duties, instead spending loan spells at Alfreton Town and Hinckley United. At the end of the 2009/10 season Derby announced that, along with several first team players such as Gary Teale and Jay McEveley, Dudley would be released at the end of their contracts in June 2010. Following the completion of his Derby contract he signed for League of Ireland Premier Division side St Patrick's Athletic, although he never played a game for the club.
Guitarist Watson, in the meantime, stayed on until Jones was able to return to full health. At this very same show, keyboardist Derek Hilland (ex-Iron Butterfly, Whitesnake and Rick Springfield) came on board to sub for Bluestein for the group's late summer/fall tour dates and again during the winter/spring of 2013 until Bluestein was able to return. On January 9, 2013 the band's original drummer, Dennis Elliott, joined Foreigner on stage at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, Florida to play on "Hot Blooded". In addition to touring small clubs and venues, the band frequently is engaged for private parties and conventions, including playing at SeaWorld in Orlando for an IBM Rational Conference (June 6, 2012), at the Gaylord convention center in Washington, D.C. for the Teradata Partners 2012 conference (October 25, 2012) and at SAP's Field Kickoff Meeting in Las Vegas (January 23, 2013).
25-pin sockets on Macintosh computers are typically single-ended SCSI connectors, combining all signal returns into one contact (again in contrast to the Centronics C50 connector typically found on the peripheral, supplying a separate return contact for each signal), while older Sun hardware uses DD50 connectors for Fast-SCSI equipment. As SCSI variants from Ultra2 onwards used differential signalling, the Macintosh DB25 SCSI interface became obsolete. The complete range of D-sub connectors also includes DA15s (one row of 7 and one of 8), DC37s (one row of 18 and one of 19), and DD50s (two rows of 17 and one of 16); these are often used in industrial products, the 15-way version being commonly used on rotary and linear encoders. The early Macintosh and late Apple II computers used an obscure 19-pin D-sub for connecting external floppy disk drives.
Ortiz returned to TNA on August 1, 2013, revealing himself as the man behind the cryptic #August1Warning tweets and YouTube videos and staring down the Aces & Eights and The Main Event Mafia, which included his Bellator 106 opponent Quinton Jackson. The following week, Ortiz returned to explain his reason for being in TNA, but he was interrupted by Kurt Angle who declared his respect for Ortiz, and later Bully Ray who declared his disrespect for both men. On August 15 at Impact Wrestling: Hardcore Justice, Ortiz was picked by Jackson to sub for Angle in the Main Event Mafia to take on Aces & Eights, which Ortiz left up in the air before he was again interrupted and insulted by Bully Ray. During the main event of the evening, Ortiz turned on Jackson by hitting him with a hammer and allowed Ray to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Chris Sabin.
For the first team, he played in 15 matches without scoring a goal, and for the reserve team, he scored three goals in seven appearances. In late August 2014, he was loaned to 2. Bundesliga club Union Berlin for the season. He scored 14 goals in 29 appearances. In July 2015 it was announced that Queens Park Rangers had signed Polter from FSV Mainz 05 on a three-year-deal for an undisclosed fee. Polter made an instant impact on his debut scoring QPR's third goal in their 10–0 win over Italian side Verona Stars in the club's first pre-season fixture of the summer. Polter's league debut came in a 2–0 away loss to London rivals Charlton Athletic as he came on as a sub for Charlie Austin in the 84th minute. His full debut came in a League Cup match against Yeovil Town, he scored the first goal for QPR as they secured a comfortable 3–0 victory.
Four days later, on 10 June 2009, Subotić scored his first goal for Serbia in a fairly straightforward 2–0 win over the Faroe Islands. For the next qualifying match, at the end of summer against France, Serbia's chance to seal qualification by winning at home, Subotić got benched and didn't enter the contest at all, as Antić preferred Aleksandar Luković to partner Vidić on this occasion. The same central defensive pairing started the next qualifier against Romania at home (another chance to automatically qualify with a win after failing to beat the French), while Subotić got a chance to run out for the last 15 minutes as a sub for Vidić with the score 2–0 for Serbia as it eventually clinched the World Cup spot with a 5–0 thrashing. In the last meaningless qualifier against Lithuania, Subotić played the full 90 minutes in a free role on the wing as Antić looked to experiment and try different setups without any fear of dropping points.
On January 14, 2011, Meredith was selected in the second round (29th overall) of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft by Seattle Sounders FC. After a long trial with Seattle, he was released by the club after being beaten to third goalkeeping position by Josh Ford. Meredith signed with USL Premier Development League club Kitsap Pumas where he made 14 league appearances, before being signed again by the Sounders on September 12, 2011 after a season-ending injury to their backup goalkeeper Terry Boss. He made his competitive debut on October 18, 2011 in a 2–1 Sounders loss to Monterrey in the CONCACAF Champions League and his MLS debut as a second half sub for an injured Michael Gspurning in a 2–0 victory over the LA Galaxy. He made his first MLS start three days later with a 1–0 clean sheet against the Philadelphia Union. The Sounders declined to pick up a contract option on Meredith on December 14, 2012.
Clarke became the club's starting left back during the third quarter of the season due to injured Gary Naysmith March and April 2012 until he was himself pushed out of the team by Calum Woods. Clarke was though used during the latter stages of the season in his more familiar role in the midfield mostly being used as a substitute. He played in both legs of Huddersfield's play-off semi final against MK Dons coming on as a 51st-minute substitute for left back Callum Woods in the first leg way at Stadium MK which Huddersfield won 2–0, and was an 88th-minute sub for winger Kallum Higginbotham in the second leg at home as Huddersfield progressed to the final. Clark made 16 appearances for Huddersfield during the 2011–12 season, as Huddersfield finished the season as Play-off champions winning promotion to the Championship after beating Sheffield United on penalties in the Wembley final.
Later that year he made his championship debut as a ten- minute blood sub for Brendan Cummins in a 1-19 to 0-19 Munster quarter-final defeat of Cork. Gleeson was still a member of the Tipperary senior hurling panel in 2010. That year he collected an All-Ireland medal as a non-playing substitute following Tipp's 4-17 to 1-18 defeat of Kilkenny. The following year Gleeson came on as substitute for Cummins after 64 minutes of the provincial decider. He won a Munster medal as a result of Tipp's 7-19 to 0-19 trouncing of Waterford. Gleeson started the 2014 season as first choice goalkeeper for Tipperary due to the retirement of Brendan Cummins at the end of the 2013 season. He made his first start in the championship for Tipperary on 1 June 2014 in the Munster Championship against Limerick in a 2-18 to 2-16 defeat. On 17 August 2014, Tipperary defeated Cork by 2-18 to 1-11 in the All- Ireland semi-final to reach the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final.

The 1990 FIFA World Cup qualifying started in October 1988 with Savićević, who had in the meantime completed the big-time summer move to Red Star Belgrade and right away got sent to serve the mandatory army service, not being called up for the first match away at Scotland. Then, a month later, perhaps surprisingly knowing the coach's conservative nature, Osim brought on the in-form Savićević (who was coming off a great performance in Red Star's European Cup tie versus Milan) as a 69th- minute sub for Bora Cvetković right after France went ahead 1–2 a minute earlier on a goal by Franck Sauzée. The substitution paid off in a big way as French players had no answer for Savićević's fresh legs and midfield creativity. Dejan first participated in a move that ended with Sušić scoring the equalizer and then with two players guarding him provided a perfect cross from the right for Red Star teammate Stojković to score the winning goal in 83rd minute as Yugoslavia recorded a big comeback 3–2 win at the JNA Stadium in Belgrade.
It was announced on 15 April 2011 that he would be moving to Major League Soccer side Toronto FC on loan until January 2012. The move found the defender again paired with Toronto's current Director of Player Development Paul Mariner, who served as Plymouth's manager during the defender's stint with the club. Eckersley made his debut for Toronto on 23 April 2011 in a 1–1 home draw against Columbus Crew as a second half sub for Javier Martina. Due to the season-ending injury to Adrian Cann and long term injury of Dicoy Williams, Coach Aron Winter was forced to use Eckerley in the centre of defence in early July and was extremely impressive in two consecutive victories over Vancouver Whitecaps. In his first season at the club Eckersley helped Toronto win the Canadian Championship, starting both legs of the final against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, winning 3-2 on aggregate. On 25 January 2012, Burnley announced the cancellation of Eckersley's contract by mutual consent, allowing him to make a permanent move to Toronto FC. Toronto FC announced his permanent move to the club on 26 January 2012.
In the final, Counter Logic Gaming swept their long-term rivals, and became NA LCS champions for the first time, while Doublelift won the first LAN event of his five-year career. The team also secured the first North American seed to the 2015 League of Legends World Championship. Although they were drawn into what was considered to be the easiest group, CLG finished below Flash Wolves and KOO Tigers, and so failed to progress to the tournament's knockout stage. Despite having their most successful NA LCS season, the organization made large changes to the championship winning roster. On October 23, 2015, it was announced that HuHi would be stepping up to the active roster, having fulfilled the role of a sub for the entirely of the previous split, while Pobelter left the team shortly afterwards. On October 28, it was announced that Blurred Limes had been released from the organization, with "a breach of trust" cited as the mean reason behind the decision. On October 31, it was announced that Doublelift had been released after four years of being involved with the organization. Attitude problems and conflict within the team were cited as the main motivators.
