Upon meeting Ghadir she stormily moves out of office, recalling a prior incident of Ghadir begging Shafiya's step-mother Majidha (Arifa Ibrahim) and uncle Amjad (Hamid Ali) for a job. Witnessing Ghadir's loyalty and dedication towards him, Shahid gifted him a house. Shafiya asks for forgiveness from Shahid and they reunite. In spite of Majidha's disagreement, Shafiya's father agreed for Shahid's proposal to marry Shafiya.

Diana hides in the clouds. Tableau 2 -- Aquilon, the northern wind, rushes stormily over the locale; his cold breath of wind awakens Flora and forces her to seek refuge in the foliage. The appearance of chilling dew brings Flora to despair, and she implores Aurora, the goddess of the dawn, to help them. Tableau 3 -- Aurora consoles Flora with tender caresses and announces that Apollo, the god of day, who will end their sufferings, is following behind her.

They met in 1842 when Duval left Haiti for France, and the two remained together, albeit stormily, for the next two decades. Duval is said to have been the woman whom Baudelaire loved most in his life after his mother. She was born in Haiti on an unknown date, sometime around 1820. Poems of Baudelaire's that are dedicated to Duval or pay her homage include "Le balcon" (The Balcony), "Parfum exotique" (Exotic Perfume), "La chevelure" (The Hair), "Sed non satiata" (Yet she is not satisfied), "Le serpent qui danse" (The Dancing Serpent), and "Une charogne" (A Carcass).
