The Daimon gang then shoots the rest of the Iwakiri gang to wrap things up. Daimon Construction brings in its heavy machinery to destroy the shanties in the slum.

The red kimono is later found—in Poirot's own suitcase and the conductor's uniform is found in the cabin of one of the testifying passengers. Hubbard is suddenly stabbed in the back; she survives but cannot identify the culprit. Poirot discovers many of the passengers have direct connections to the Armstrong family and uncovers their hidden pasts.

At Yoeland’s request her brother releases Rupert from his oath and after Yoeland learns the blonde hair was from Anne’s doll that she gave to Rupert as a token, Yoeland and Rupert become engaged.

The song over the end credits is based on the song "One" from the musical A Chorus Line, while the concept of the family being turned inside out by a mysterious fog comes from an episode of the radio show Lights Out called "The Dark". In all three segments, Willie is stabbed in the back with an axe; first by Homer, then by Maggie, and then by Principal Skinner.

The robbery goes badly wrong and the supermarket manager is stabbed in the back of the car by a member of the gang. Whilst all the other gang members are wearing ski masks, Billy is not and is frantic with worry that he can be identified.

She is with Higa's Sekirei when they attack Izumo Inn in a second attempt to steal Minato's Jinki, but deserts her erst-while "comrades" after she learns of Minato's Sekirei's successful "rescue" of Chiho, and sacrifices herself in order to save Minato, getting stabbed in the back by Sekirei #31 (Sai) and eventually dying in Minato's arms; similarly in the anime, she sacrifices herself to save Musubi.
