He confronted great difficulties in his missionary efforts and faced severe discouragement.

The pioneering Methodist circuit rider John Lewis Dyer crossed over Mosquito Pass several times a week during the 1860s, using snowshoes in winter, in his mission to spread the gospel. Father Dyer Peak is named in his honor.

Highland, Dr. Kolan Wright, Joseph Simmons, Brittany Hardy and Lisa Strnad. It was founded with intent to spread the Gospel worldwide, and later began focusing on filmmaking and production. HOSFU was featured on the November 2009 cover of Christian Video Magazine.

The origin of London Missionary Society was associated with the evangelical revival in England in the last quarter of the eighteenth century. Every Christian in England considered it his duty to strive hard for the spreading of the gospel both at home and abroad. The enlightened Christians in England also advocated strongly in favour of allowing missionaries to spread the gospel in India. This dream became a reality with the founding of missionary societies.
Garr preached about repentance and restitution, and many in the meetings had convictions of sin. In the spring of 1908, the Garrs were back in Los Angeles, after the Lord spoke to them about the Pentecostal movement struggling in the states. They decided to travel the states for 16 months to spread the gospel and message of Pentecostalism. During this time, Garr met with Joseph H. King, who went on to become the leader of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

On September 22 he founded World Challenge, an organization seeking to promote and spread the Gospel throughout the world. Venkatesananda Saraswati (29 December 1921 in Tanjore, South India–2 December 1982 in Johannesburg, South Africa), known previously as Parthsarathy, was a disciple of Sivananda Saraswati. He received his spiritual training at the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh, India, and disseminated his master's teachings in South Africa, Mauritius, Australia, and New Zealand. Venkatesananda said that he had been specially commissioned by his master, Sivananda, to spread the gospel of goodness – the four words: “Be good, do Good”.
Participation in voluntary societies reflected evangelical Episcopalians' beliefs that every Christian had a responsibility to spread the gospel and righteousness in preparation for the millennial reign of Christ on earth. Like their English counterparts, millennial expectation fuelled an interest in biblical prophecy among evangelical Episcopalians. Bishop John P. K. Henshaw, Benjamin Allen (rector of Old St. Paul's in Philadelphia) and other Episcopal ministers published books or magazines dedicated to millennialism. Before the turn of the 21st century, many denominations placed less emphasis on the role of youth in the church. It is more important now than ever before that young people should “serve in church- wide responsibilities.” Churches now encourage teenagers to evangelize at their age, rather than waiting until adulthood to spread the gospel. In addition, many sermons are delivered with the intent for youth to come to know Christ personally if they have not done so already.
Montoya graduated as a teacher in 1893. In 1908 she began working with the natives in the Uraba and Sarare regions where she founded the "Works of the Indians". Montoya wanted to become a cloistered Carmelite nun but felt growing within her the desire to spread the Gospel to those who had never met Jesus Christ. Montoya wanted to eliminate the existing racial discrimination and to sacrifice herself in order to bring them Christ's love and teachings.

Grouard visited Tuamotus, but did not find that it would be fruitful for missionary work; he went to the island of Anaa instead and landed May 1, 1945. Rogers returned to the U.S. in 1845.
As Thomas Baker was martyred in Fiji; so was Sailasa Naucukidi in New Britain as a result of the Wesleyan Church's proselytization missions in the latter part of the nineteenth century in the South Pacific. Lelean Memorial School, at Davuilevu, Nausori, Fiji, honours his memory by naming one of its four houses after him. Fijian Methodist missionaries have since helped spread the gospel in New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Northern Australia, Vanuatu and recently to the Caribbean.

The Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary was particularly successful in the Kingdom of Hawaii. They established what is now the Roman Catholic Diocese of Honolulu and built the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace, the oldest Roman Catholic cathedral in continuous use in the United States.
Johannes Emde was born in Arolsen, Germany in 1774 and died in Surabaya in 1859. In Indonesia, Emde lived in Surabaya, earning his living as a watchmaker, and married a Javanese woman from the Solo kraton. He was a Pietist, and was already living in Surabaya when he started preaching in about 1815. Emde did his missionary work by asking children to spread the Gospel of Mark as translated by Bruchner to literate people at the markets.
Howard Finster (December 2, 1916 – October 22, 2001) was an American artist and Baptist minister from Georgia. He claimed to be inspired by God to spread the gospel through the design of his swampy land into Paradise Garden, a folk art sculpture garden with over 46,000 pieces of art. His creations include outsider art, naïve art, and visionary art. Finster came to widespread notice in the 1980s with his album cover designs for R.E.M. and Talking Heads.
In 1740, the first Protestant, Reverend John Zachariah Kiernander, arrived in Bangladesh. In 1770, he funded and built a Protestant Church called "Mission Church" in West Bengal. By the 18th century, British missionaries, such as William Carey, had built more churches, translated the Bible and other Christian books, and had set up religious schools. The British missionaries had also developed Christian newspapers (such as "Digdarshan", "The Gospel Magazine", and "The Christian Mohila") in an effort to spread the gospel.
While Yeongsul is away from home, he becomes a devout Christian. At the same time, Eulhwa becomes a famous Shaman; this, however, does not save her from a life of poverty. When Yeongsul returns to the village, he intends to provide salvation to his mother and younger sister through the Christian faith. Eulhwa, however, fights against her son’s attempt to spread the gospel. She begins reciting incantations, vowing to rid her house of Jesus’s ghost, and burns her son’s bible.

This mission moved from 612 Elm Street to 169 Main Street on October 31, 1899. J. T. He called on Catholics to understand the Eucharist as "an urgent summons to testimony and evangelization," providing the necessary strength to carry out the "charge" given at the end of each Mass to spread the Gospel. John Paul II also asked for a commitment to a "culture of the Eucharist," i.e. a commitment to providing witness to God's real presence in the world.
George Mackay, 3rd Lord Reay, then travelled to Leith on the ship named The Sheerness, which had pursued the Jacobites in the Skirmish of Tongue, and remained in the south until the following autumn.Mackay. p. 192. In a letter to a government official dated 2 September 1746, Lord Reay suggested the need to erect new churches and to spread the Gospel among the disaffected. George Mackay, 3rd Lord Reay, was a Fellow of the Royal Society. He died at Tongue on 21 March 1746.
The overcrowded city allowed for the emergence of vices like crime, violence, drugs, and prostitution, a service that Lucy is tricked into. Major reform efforts began in 1817 when the Boston Female Society for Missionary Purposes hired two preachers to spread the gospel in Boston's vice districts: the West End (“Negro Hill”) and the North End. The Penitent Female's Refuge and a House of Industry were also established to help reform former prostitutes. In 1823, Mayor Josiah Quincy of Boston oversaw America's first police crackdown on prostitution.
In addition to his studies there John Anyogu taught Latin to junior seminarians, using his own quarters as a makeshift classroom. Also during this period, in 1922, he was sent to Ogoja, some 320 kilometres from Onitsha—a distance he did on foot to spread the gospel. Then on 8 December 1930 he was ordained at Onitsha by Bishop Shanahan, at the age of 32, becoming the first priest from Eastern Nigeria. Father Anyogu was first assigned to the Adazi parish as a curate.

In 1993, Shichone formed the Zambia Civic Education Association (ZCEA).The aim of the association was to spread the gospel of human and democratic rights and to remind Zambians that it was not enough to have democracy on paper, but it had to be practiced. Although not one of the apostles commissioned during the life of Jesus, Paul, a Jew named Saul of Tarsus, claimed a special commission from the post-ascension Jesus as "the apostle of the Gentiles", to spread the gospel message after his conversion. In his writings, the epistles to Christian churches throughout the Levant, Paul did not restrict the term "apostle" to the twelve, and often refers to his mentor Barnabas as an apostle."Apostle." Then the Texas Methodist Conference transferred Pleasant to Fort Belknap, Texas, to spread the gospel to friendly Indians and white settlers. Tackitt Mountain in Young County was named for him in memory of the skirmish there in 1860 between the Tackitt family and a band of Indians led by a Comanche known to the settlers as Piny Chummy (or Pine-o-Channa).
At times Gundert had five Pandits in his house, discussing old Indian history, philosophy and religion and studying the classical Indian literature. At his numerous visits to the villages around Tellicherry, Gundert got in close contact with the people, collected as many words, phrases and proverbs as possible and spread the Gospel. During this period, he published around thirteen books in Malayalam. Many of the material – old Malayalam documents and scriptures from Tellicherry and other places in Malabar – which Gundert had collected he later gave to University of Tübingen.

Nobily adopted the mode of life of Hindu sanyasis in order to attract higher caste Hindus to Christianity by his adoptive method he converted many Hindu high caste into Christian faith. As a result of his novel way of conversion, Christianity was accepted in the southern parts of Tamil Nadu by low caste and high caste people. After founding a well-known Jesuit mission at Madurai in 1606 AD, he decided to spread the gospel in the neighbouring regions. He established congregations wherever conversion took place in large numbers.
Ray Charles also modeled the sound of his backup group, the Raelettes, on groups such as the Davis Sisters and the Caravans. The loss of Curtis Dublin was a crushing blow to the group but they were spiritually resilient and continued their mission to spread the gospel of Christ in song. No one could play like Curtis, with his unique style, speed and timing. The Hammond B-3 organ was more in use in gospel venues and helped fill in the gaps, even when another talented pianist accompanied the group.
Mackenzie died while in Swatow on December 26, 1899. He was survived by his four children, though his wife had died several years earlier. Mackenzie was admired for his willingness to venture away from the center of the mission and out into surrounding areas, where he would provide medical assistance and spread the gospel to previously overlooked communities. Mackenzie persevered in his missionary work in spite of the absence of three of his children, who remained in Scotland, and the death of his wife, who passed away while accompanying Mackenzie at the Swatow mission.
While living and working among the poor, offering spiritual and emotional support, especially to those Christians who feel alienated from the traditional churches, the Institute's members are dedicated to ongoing professional and pastoral formation, and to the modest ecumenical movement present in the overwhelmingly conservative Roman Catholic–dominated republic. Sadhu Kochu Kunchju Upadesi at the age of 11 accepted Jesus as his personal saviour during a meeting held in his home parish. He decided to commit himself to the ministry at the age of 17. In the beginning he went to spread the gospel at night time after farming. When the Indian Brethren movement gained momentum in Kerala, Sadhu Kochoonju Upadesi decided not to join that church even though his friend and classmate K V Simon (later Mahakavi, poet laureate) who was also a paternal cousin of his wife's father joined the movement.
Lee believed that her sins were taken away from her as the spirit of Christ was laid upon her. Lee had desires to spread the gospel that had changed her life and was appointed the first female to be a preacher in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Her service as a missionary and a preacher slowed during her only marriage, but it picked up after her husband died shortly into the marriage. Jarena Lee surpassed gender expectations and was a legitimate force in conversion in the United States.
Charalambos was Bishop of Magnesia also in Assyrian Mar Zaia"Three Women Martyrs with St. Charalmpus in Thessaly", Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America and spread the Gospel in that region for many years. However, when news of his preaching reached the authorities of the area, the proconsul Lucian and military commander Lucius, the saint was arrested and brought to trial, where he confessed his faith in Christ and refused to offer sacrifice to idols. Despite his advanced age, he was tortured mercilessly. They lacerated his body with iron hooks, and scraped all the skin from his body.

After joining Alma White and the Pillar of Fire holiness church in Denver, Bartleman continued the work that became his lifelong mission – working with down-and- outs, alcoholics and wayward girls, mostly in inner city rescue missions. Bartleman's first mission work began while he was studying at Temple University. He set out in slums, he first set out for the Middle Alley and Trout Street areas, and evangelized. For a short time after quitting a shoe job in 1895, Bartleman made ends meet selling religious books, which he used as an opportunity to spread the Gospel.
The document suggests that the internet provides an opportunity for the Church, not just a danger. New communications have helped create a "global village", and the faithful need to take advantage of its possibilities but use them "ethically and responsibly". Proper communication is a moral act, and Christ is an example of a communicator who used all the means available to him to spread the gospel: "The media aid the Church in spreading the Gospel and religious values, promoting dialogue and cooperation, and defending the moral and ethical principles" of the Church, according to John Fagan's summary.

McMillan's log college in Chartiers The early students were subjected to regular attacks by local Indian tribes and were greatly influenced by religious revivals and the Second Great Awakening. The women of "the 5 congregations" (Bethel, Buffalo, Chartiers, Cross Creek, and Ten Mile) had a tradition of making clothes for the students, most of whom were farmers and many were veterans of the Revolution. Most attended school to prepare for the ministry, and many students pushed west to spread the Gospel to other frontiersmen and often the same Indians that were attacking them.

In the late 1970s, churches were formed to spread the Gospel and also created regional Bible schools and a National Committee of Bible schools. On January 13–20, 1975, three districts were created at the XVIII National Assembly in Bogotá: North, Central and West, which were led by a District Presbytery, strengthened corporately to the Assemblies of God.
Chinese in the English- Speaking Caribbean - Kinship Their eager acceptance of Christianity contrasted sharply with the strong attachment of other overseas Chinese communities to their ancestral religions and to Christian missionary conversion efforts. Many of the first generation Chinese Guyanese were Christians while in China, and most others converted swiftly on arrival. They built and maintained their own Christian churches throughout the Colony and paid their own Chinese-speaking catechists. In 1860, Mr. Lough Fook, who had come from China to spread the gospel among the immigrants, established The Chinese Baptist Church of British Guiana, first at Peter's Hall and later at Leonora.
New mass entertainment, such as radio and movies, helped put an end to an era of citywide evangelism typified by the ministries of Bob Jones and Billy Sunday. But Jones was not afraid of technological progress per se and believed that the new media might provide additional opportunities to spread the gospel. During the early 1920s Jones was one of the first religious figures to broadcast on radio. The 1925 Bob Jones evangelistic meetings in Pittsburgh were perhaps the first remote-controlled religious broadcasts in the world, as well as the first broadcasts to originate from an evangelistic crusade.

The church overall has many statues and regulations in place for the overseen congregations so that they may determine the appropriate way to hold mass, perform the sacraments and spread the gospel in difficult or challenging settings. Procurement of financial support During Clement VIII’s reign, in the sixteenth century, the second purpose for the Congregation for the Propagation of the Sacred Faith (CPF) was for the organization to procure financial support for their missions – both in domestic and international territory.
This society established in the early part of the 19th Century was inspired by the Pietist Movement and the Christian Awakening which occurred in the 17thand 18th Centuries which were themselves outshoots of the Reformation which took place earlier in the 16th Century. Their objective was to send European missionaries to other lands to establish the Christian faith among other peoples. The roots of the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe-run school can be traced back to as early as 1891, when two Methodist ministers of religion, Owen Watkins and Isaac Shimmin arrived in the country to spread the gospel. But as the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe’s Presiding Bishop, Ndhlumbi noted, there was a need for literacy for people to understand the Bible. “The Methodist Church’s initial aim, like other denominations, was to convert the indigenous people to Christianity and then to Methodism. The Norbertines, also known officially as Canons Regular of Prémontré (or Premonstratensians), are a Catholic religious order founded by Saint Norbert in the northern French village of Prémontré in 1121.
