Hillhead Centre is just up the road opposite Hillhead Halls of Residence. It houses the Grampian Institute of Sport, bar and conference suite. It has a floodlit full-size grass football pitch, currently home to Aberdeen University F.C. (and formerly home to Junior team Hillhead F.C./Bridge of Don Thistle before they moved to the village of Newburgh) and sand based floodlit full-size hockey pitch.

The Jena Choctaw Pines Casino opened on February 13, 2013. The casino, owned by the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians, sits on over of land, of which within Creola were donated by local businessman Mike Wahlder to develop the casino. It will be a Class II casino under Indian Gaming laws. It is the first phase of the casino project that features of gaming space containing 700 slots and a poker room, and also featuring a sport bar and a buffet.

The sports complex is built on Crown Land (since 1997 known as Government Land in the law) with special land lease, which limited its purpose. However, Apple Daily accused that the athletic association violate the land lease by allowing non-members to use its canteen by joining its special-class of "eat- only" membership for HK$20 per month. A sport bar on the 2/F of the Complex, also subsidized their customers with HK$150 voucher, as a compensation for the full annual membership fee of the SCAA, HK$120.
