Frank Donald Goodish (June 18, 1946 – July 17, 1988) was an American professional wrestler who earned his greatest fame under the ring name Bruiser Brody. He also worked as King Kong Brody, The Masked Marauder, and Red River Jack. Over the years Brody became synonymous with the hardcore wrestling brawling style that often saw one or more of the participants bleeding by the time the match was over. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter rated the tournament final between Pegasus and Sasuke, a five-star match. Although initially conceived as a one-time only event, the success of the 1994 Super J-Cup led NJPW to collaborate with Wrestle Association R to hold the event again and bring in some new junior heavyweights while also bringing some of the previous year's participants. WAR hosted the event at the previous year's venue Sumo Hall and Último Dragón produced the event while also participating in it. Famous luchadores Rey Misterio, Jr. and Psicosis were also brought in at the event to participate in a non-tournament "special attraction" match as a breather for the finalists, allowing them to take rest before the tournament final.

Sometimes this will be the culmination of an entire feud, ending it for the immediate future (known as a blowoff match). Perhaps the most well- known non-standard match is the cage match, in which the ring is surrounded by a fence or similar metal structure, with the express intention of preventing escape or outside interference—and with the added bonus of the cage being a potentially brutal weapon or platform for launching attacks. The WWE has another provision where a standard cage match can end with one wrestler or wrestling team escaping the cage through the door or over the top.

The bird park comprises a large number of internal and external aviaries as well as outdoor enclosures. In addition the visitor can meet birds in an environment modelled on their natural habitat with no artificial barriers both in a free flight aviary with sand dunes and a wave machine, as well as in numerous buildings, such as the Jungle Hall. Whilst the more recent areas of the bird park are based more on the natural environment of the birds, the older areas mainly consist of spacious parkland and woods including large rose and rhododendron beds. One special attraction is the variety of flight demonstrations on an open-air stage where, not only are falcons and eagles displayed as in other shows, but parrots, pelicans and Indian Runner ducks too.

Melissa and MsChif had a lengthy rivalry and then formed a tag team After the success of ChickFight, Dave Prazak and Allison Danger set up Shimmer Women Athletes, a promotion with ties to Prazak's Ring of Honor intending to raise the credibility of women's wrestling on an international scale. Her first match with the promotion was on November 6, 2005, for Volume 1 in a losing effort to MsChif, starting a wild feud between the two. The loss saw Anderson demand a special attraction rematch—the match would be Shimmer's first hardcore match, fought under Falls Count Anywhere rules and helped Anderson gain the victory after nearly thirty minutes of wrestling on February 12, 2006, at Volume 4. MsChif took her revenge at Volume 5 by distracting Anderson during a match with Allison Danger, causing her to lose the match.

Despite the conditions being in his favor, Necro lost to Ryan who pinned him while pulling his tights. Necro returned at the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles, competing in the tournament against Super Dragon in a No Count-Out, No Disqualification Match that was the main event of the second night on September 2. Dragon would get the win after hitting Necro with the Psycho Driver onto an open chair. Necro then wrestled in the special attraction eight-man tag team match the next night teaming with Rocky Romero and the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli) against Colt Cabana, M-Dogg 20, Quicksilver, and Delirious.

Brazo de Platino, as well as most of the other second-generation Alvarado brothers often lost their hair in Luchas de Apuestas matches, losing to wrestlers such as Black Warrior, El Dandy, Rey Bucanero, Zumbido, Alan Stone, Villano III, Villano IV, and Ray Mendoza Jr. Brazo de Platino even even lost his hair to how own brother, Súper Brazo, on at least two occasions, both times as a result of the brothers losing a Relevos Suicidas where they were forced to fight each other as a result. Platino began working for Toryumon Mexico in 2010 as he participated in their annual Yamaha Cup where Brazo de Platino and Brazo de Plata lost in the first round to El Hijo del Fantasma and Angélico. He also participated in the Dragonmania V "Dragon Scramble" match but lost to Hijo del Fantasma.

The first match of the show featured the lucha libre unique Mini-Estrellas division, a division that is not the same as midget wrestling, in the fact that it is not restricted to people with dwarfism but also wrestlers who are generally short in stature. IWRG does not have a regular Mini-Estrella division, which meant that this special attraction match featured workers from AAA and the Mexican Independent circuit, some who may work in the regular division elsewhere. The match was originally announced as Mini Espiritu teaming with Mini Psicosis and Piratita Morgan, Jr., but he was replaced by Mini Ozz on the night with no explanation given for the substitution. Mini Psicosis was the reigning AAA World Mini-Estrella Champion, Mini Ozz is a smaller version of Dark Ozz from AAA and Piratita Morgan, Jr. is the latest wrestler to use the name and ring character of a smaller version of Pirata Morgan, or perhaps in this case Morgan's sons Hijo de Pirata Morgan/Pirata Morgan, Jr. The trio took on and defeated the tecnico trio of Mini Batista, Mini Rey Cometa, Mini Super Astro.
