Reverend Zen is a New York rock/blues/jazz group that debuted in 2006 with their album, Angels, Blues & the Crying Moon, released by Blakjak Music Records / Anamosa Songs ASCAP c2006. StandFour is an American a cappella group from New York City made up of four former members of Yeshiva University's all-male a cappella group The Maccabeats. Formed in November 2012, the group is composed of four graduates of the university: David Block, Noey Jacobson, Nachum Joel, and Immanuel Shalev. StandFour is largely popular among the American Jewish community and the related blogosphere. Their first song/video was released immediately after their formation, entitled "Eight Nights," and is a Hanukkah parody/mashup of three songs: "Some Nights" by Fun, "Die Young" by Ke$ha, and "Live While We're Young" by One Direction.

Beyond the Door is Harper's first ever DVD release. The DVD combines studio footage recorded at Harper's home in February, August and September 2005, with images, illustrations, animations, "The Death of God" song video, and live performance footage recorded on 22 and 29 July 2004 at the Irish folk club "De Barra's" in Clonakilty, Cork of Harper accompanied by Matt Churchill. The package also included an additional 10-track audio CD of the De Barra's performances, an 8-page booklet, and (on the DVD) an interview with Harper. The project was inspired by Megan McNeil from North Delta, British Columbia, adrenal cancer patient that had been battling the disease since she was 16 before passing away at 20 years of age. McNeil wrote a song called The Will to Survive as a tribute to other children fighting cancer, and McMahon helped McNeil arrange and record her song in 2010. Of McNeil's influence on the project, McMahon stated that "Megan’s Will to Survive song, video and entire campaign wouldn’t have seen the light if not for music therapy". Currently there is one stationary Bandwagon at B.C. Children’s Hospital and one that travels around Greater Vancouver for six-week residencies.

In 2013, McMahon and his band, the lion the bear the fox, joined forces with the Vancouver, British Columbia-based charity Music Heals and created the Bandwagon Project initiative to raise money to bring a mobile recording studio used by music therapists called the Bandwagon to Vancouver Island. Bandwagon is the world's first mobile recording studio designed specifically for use by music therapists, and it contains microphones, instruments, a computer, recording software and more to aid therapists to work with patients. The Bandwagon Project is inspired by McNeil's life and strength. "Megan's Will to Survive song, video and entire campaign wouldn't have seen the light if not for music therapy," says McMahon.

During this tour, he also reunited with J Mascis for a performance of the song "Video Prick" with former Deep Wound vocalist Charlie Nakajima. This performance led to a full-fledged Dinosaur Jr. reunion in 2005, with original members Barlow, Mascis and Murph performing "The Lung" on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on April 15, 2005, and a show at Spaceland in Los Angeles the following night. The band then played well-received tours of the U.S. and Europe throughout the rest of the year, and in 2006 headed to Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In 2007, Barlow reunited with Loewenstein and Gaffney to perform the first Sebadoh shows with the "classic" lineup in 14 years.

On November 3, 2017, English singer Liam Payne performed a stripped- down version of "What About Us" as part of the BBC's music television series Sounds Like Friday Night; Kesha Watson of Much praised his cover, saying, "Payne handled himself very well, adding his own flare and pulling it off perfectly". Following the departure of their bassist/producer, re-recruitment of founder member Sam on guitar and movement of Thom from guitar to bass, the band rested, rehearsed and recreated more drum tracks for a while before returning later that year with a self-released song/video for "The Cat That Became Prime Minister" as well as having an older track chosen for a combined Oxfam/Manchester Music Christmas single. 2010 saw a human drummer being recruited and tracks recorded for the 'Cabinet of Curiosity' album tied in with the multi-artist Manchester based Music/Arts project of the same name. Following the departure of Sam, the group struggled on with temporary bassists for a time before finally splitting in the summer of 2011 due to "irreconcilable sexual differences".

Myles changed her surname from Byles at the age of 19, after deciding to pursue a career in entertainment. Appearances in TV commercials paid for music demos that led to numerous rejections in Canada, until she recorded masters for three songs; "Who Loves You" and a video demo for "Just One Kiss", directed by photographer Deborah Samuel. With matched financing from her songwriting collaborator, MuchMusic (City TV) VJ and program director Christopher Ward and FACTOR, she signed her first record contract with Atlantic Records in 1987. In the fall of 1987, Warner Music Canada's director of artists and repertoire (A&R;), Bob Roper, sent Myles's three-song video package to all of Warner Music Group's U.S. affiliates, which garnered a contract for seven or eight years from Atlantic Records (WMG), given by head of A&R; Tunc Erim and Atlantic label founder Ahmet Ertegun.

His song for Hoodoo Gurus "Come Anytime" (June 1989) is the theme song to the Australian television show Thank God You're Here (2006). The Gurus reworked their hit, "What's My Scene?" as "That's My Team" also by Faulkner, the 2003–2007 promotional theme for the National Rugby League (NRL). Faulkner is a well-known, long-time supporter of NRL team the Cronulla Sharks and appeared in one of their jerseys for the "That's My Team" promotional song video (a lyrics rewrite of "What's My Scene?"). Faulkner had also written "1000 Miles Away" (1991) which was adopted as the 'anthem' for RAN frigate HMAS Canberra II, Hoodoo Gurus played a concert including "1000 Miles Away" on-board (in front of both Canberra I and II veterans including Faulkner's father) during their last voyage out of Fremantle to Fleet Base West, prior to its decommissioning in 2005.

The band play sooth-sayers to the United States ("Americanized" and "Ollie North") and modern human civilization in general ("Slutman City"), who have come to torture and enslave Earth for their own perverse sadistic pleasures ("Time For Death", "Bone Meal", "War Toy", "I'm In Love (With a Dead Dog)" - a tender episode in canine-alien relations). Despite having superpowers, Gwar is not without enemies - a character known as Techno-Destructo has followed the band to Earth to recruit (or enslave) them to serve "The Master" in a holy jihad against the universe ("Techno's Song"). Don Drakulich plays Techno on the album (the part would soon be taken over by Hunter Jackson). Other songs follow similarly crazy themes - the "Gwar Theme" is a car-eating anthem, "Je M' Appelle J. Cousteau" features famous aquanaut Jacques-Yves Cousteau in a Dada-esque romp, and "AEIOU" disputes whether the English alphabet is the property of Satan or Gor- Gor (another Gwar character who would later surface in the song/video of the same name).
