A member of the alien Chiss species, Thrawn is described as a tall, solidly built humanoid with blue skin and glowing red eyes who wears the white uniform befitting his rank. He has risen in power thanks to his "tactical brilliance and cunning", and has been described as "one of the most threatening antagonists" in the Star Wars universe.

Due to many difficulties in development and agricultural projects, archaeologists have been assigned to mark the boundary of the historical find by laying cement blocks. The wall is second only to the walls that make up the Great Wall of China as the longest defensive wall in existence, and although now in substantial disrepair, it was perhaps even more solidly built than the early forms of the Great Wall.

A rider on cross-country The next phase, cross-country, requires both horse and rider to be in excellent physical shape and to be brave and trusting of each other. This phase consists of approximately 12–20 fences (lower levels), or 30–40 at the higher levels, placed on a long outdoor circuit. Paul Wilson (born 12 January 1972) is an Australian cricket umpire and former cricketer who played one Test and eleven One Day Internationals (ODIs) for the Australian national cricket team, as well as domestically representing South Australia and Western Australia. Born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Wilson moved to Adelaide to attend the Australian Cricket Academy, and went to debut for South Australia during the 1995–96 season. A solidly-built right-arm fast bowler, all of his matches at international level came during the 1997–98 season, with his single Test coming during Australia's tour of India. Wilson remained active at domestic level until the early 2000s, switching to Western Australia for the 2002–03 season.

John Lynch was born in 1813 in Cavan, Ireland. In 1830, he was convicted of false pretences in Cavan, and two years later he was sentenced to penal transportation to Australia. Lynch, at 19-years-old, left Ireland on the ship , on 1 July 1832 sailing from Dublin to New South Wales. On 16 October 1832, the ship docked at Port Jackson and Lynch was billeted out to Berrima, a village founded that year and located in the southern highlands of New South Wales, roughly 130 kilometres from Sydney. Lynch was a small but solidly-built man at just 5’3” in height, and worked as a convict labourer on various farms before joining a gang of bushrangers.

Encouraged by Archbishop Albert I. of Meissen, the so-called White Monks (Cistercians) from Osek founded the first settlement in the upper Flöha valley, shortly after ore was found here. In the course of the Protestant reformation Olbernhau became a parish in 1539. A school is mentioned for the first time in 1556. The solidly built church was consecrated in 1590.

Barton Aqueduct's fate was sealed with the passage of the Manchester Ship Canal Act 1885, which allowed for the construction of a navigable waterway large enough to accommodate ocean-going vessels from the estuary of the River Mersey the into Manchester, partly along the Irwell. As the arches of the aqueduct were too small to allow large ships to pass through it was demolished in 1893, and replaced by the Barton Swing Aqueduct still in use today. So solidly built was the old aqueduct that dynamite had to be used to expedite its demolition. Some of the stonework of Brindley's aqueduct has been preserved in the nearby Barton Memorial Arch, a monument to his "castle in the air".

Richard Champion (born 14 April 1968 on Yorke Peninsula in Kadina, South Australia) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League (AFL) and South Australian National Football Leagues (SANFL). Vincent Norman "Mick" Raymer (4 May 1918 – 31 October 2006) was a cricketer who played first-class cricket for Queensland from 1940 to 1956. In the Second World War, Raymer served from 1940 to 1946, chiefly in New Guinea, as a private in the 61st Australian Infantry Battalion. An accident during his service left him partially deaf. Gary Brice (born 7 October 1948) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the VFL during the 1970s. A solidly built wingman who could play at half forward, Brice started his career at Port Melbourne in the Victorian Football Association, before being recruited by South Melbourne in 1970. After 171 games at South, he returned to Port Melbourne as captain-coach in 1980, and coached there until 1983, leading the club to three successive premierships from 1980 until 1982. He returned for one further year as coach in 1985, and he was the coach of the Association's representative team from 1982 until 1985 – including in 1984, when he was a specialist coach at in the VFL.

Maurice Joseph Rioli (1 September 195725 December 2010) was an Australian rules footballer who represented St Mary's Football Club in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL), in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and in the Victorian Football League. Acknowledged as one of the greatest players of his era, Rioli was one of the first Indigenous Australian footballers to have a significant impact on Victorian football, and was named in the centre for the Indigenous Team of the Century. A highly skilled and solidly built centreman with exquisite ball-handling skills and lightning reflexes, Rioli was a renowned performer on the big stage. After retiring from football, Rioli became a politician in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly, and then worked in community services on the Tiwi Islands.

Townley Discophoros (British Museum) The Discophoros, also spelled Discophorus (Greek – "Discus-Bearer"), was a bronze sculpture by the classical Greek sculptor Polyclitus, creator of the Doryphoros and Diadumenos, and its many Roman marble copies. (It is not, however, to be confused with Discobolus of Myron, which shows a discus being thrown, not carried.) Discophorus fountain, on Calle Obregon in Colonia Roma in Mexico City Like the Doryphoros and Diadumenos, it was created as an example of Polyclitus's "canon" of the ideal human form in sculpture. It features a young, muscular, solidly-built athlete in a moment of thought before throwing a discus. Most marble copies feature the addition of a marble tree stump – marble is weaker but heavier than bronze- as the stump is needed for support.

The upper Denwa Formation is characteristically dominated by red mudstones with ribbon-shaped sandstone sheets encased within them. The Shringasaurus bone bed consists of mostly disarticulated bones scattered in a area of red mudstone, although one skeleton was found partially articulated, and only contains fossils of Shringasaurus. At least seven to eight individuals were recovered from the bone bed, based on the number of different left humeri, skull roofs and horns discovered, and they are all from varying ontogenetic stages of growth with a wide range of body sizes. Of these individuals, only one or two lacked horns, and it's suggested that the bone bed was taphonomically biased towards the heavier, solidly built skulls of horned individuals while being transported and preserved.

The Gypsy Cob, also known as the Traditional Gypsy cob, Irish Cob, Gypsy Horse or Gypsy Vanner, is a type or breed of domestic horse from the islands Great Britain and Ireland. It is a small, solidly-built horse of cob conformation and is often, but not always, piebald or skewbald; it is particularly associated with Irish Travellers and English Romanichal Travellers of Ireland and Great Britain. There was no stud-book or breed association for horses of this type until 1996. It is now considered a breed and can be registered by the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA).. From about 1850 travelling people in the British Isles began to use a distinct type of horse to pull their vardos, the caravans in which they had just begun to live and travel.

The Plymouth Society of Chicago selected a committee to investigate the irrigated Payette River Valley in the five-year-old state of Idaho, and another site in Colorado, to be purchased for the colony. The present city of New Plymouth was on the drawing boards in Chicago, designed as a town able to be self-reliant through the use of irrigation, solidly built on an agricultural and railroad economy. In February 1896, each colonist purchased 20 shares of stock at $30 per share, which entitled him to of land and a town lot.

Marianne Halavage of The Herald found it "brilliant" and described it as "an urban electronic feast of everything from funky house to drum’n’bass and rave". Alex Denney of NME hailed it as "the British pop debut of the year". Kitty Empire from The Observer called the songs on the album "12 solidly built tunes that reflect her love of the euphoric rush of clubbing, of falling in love and the comedowns in their wake", while Simon Price of The Independent described On a Mission as "a debut album of subtle, mature, intelligent electronic pop, reminiscent of Sugababes before it all went wrong" and felt that it "sounds like a modern pop classic".

A former miner, Taylor's first-class cricket career started somewhat belatedly at the age of 23. A solidly-built fast- medium bowler and a reliable county performer over many years, Taylor's chance of Test selection seemed to have gone when he received a three-year ban for joining the Graham Gooch-led rebel tour to South Africa in 1982, where he was the leading bowler with 11 wickets at 18.72 to his name. After his two Test appearances in 1985, Taylor won selection to the winter tour to the West Indies, but was dubbed "Lord Lucan" by certain members of the press due to his lack of matches on tour and a passing visual resemblance to the "missing" aristocrat. Taylor appeared in just one One Day International on the tour, but was picked for a second on his return home in the series against India.

As a doubles specialist, the solidly built Zhang Jun won several international men's doubles titles with compatriot Zhang Wei including the Swiss (1998), China (2001), and Thailand (2005) Opens. However, the majority of his titles, and the most prestigious ones, came in mixed doubles with the formidable Gao Ling. These included consecutive gold medals at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games, earned by surviving a number of tight matches, particularly in 2000 when they were on the verge of elimination in the semifinals. In similar fashion, Zhang and Gao captured the 2001 IBF World Championships by squeezing past the brilliant Kim Dong-moon and partner Ra Kyung-min 17-16 in the third game. Zhang's other titles with Gao included three victories (2001, 2003, and 2006) at the prestigious All-England Championships; the Badminton Asia Championships in 2002; the China Masters in 2005; and the China (2002, 2003), Japan (2003), Indonesia (2004), Malaysia (2004, 2006), Thailand (2005), Singapore (2005), and German (2006) Opens.

In 1598 John Stow had commented that "if carts do run against it through negligence, the wheels be broken, and the stone itself unshaken", and by 1742 it was considered an obstruction to traffic. The remaining part of the Stone was then moved, with its protective cupola, from the south side of the street to the north side, where it was first set beside the door of St Swithin's Church, which had been rebuilt by Christopher Wren after its destruction in the Great Fire. It was moved again in 1798 to the east end of the church's south wall, and finally in the 1820s set in an alcove in the centre of the wall within a solidly built stone frame set on a plinth, with a circular aperture through which the Stone itself could be seen. In 1869 the London and Middlesex Archaeological Society arranged for the installation of a protective iron grille and an explanatory inscription in Latin and English on the church wall above it.

Simmons was a lower-order right-hand batsman and a right-arm off break bowler who achieved almost iconic status for both the major teams that he played for. Solidly- built, he looked very little like an athlete, yet his close fielding was sharp and he remained fit into his late 40s. A late arrival in county cricket at the age of 28,Lyles, C. Simmons then enjoyed a 20-year career in which he was an integral part of the Lancashire side, though rarely hitting the headlines. His flat bowling trajectory and his accuracy meant that he could be economical in one-day cricket, and he was part of the highly successful Lancashire side under Jack Bond that won the Gillette Cup, the premier one-day competition in England, for three years in a row from 1970 to 1972.

Sulzbach's church was consecrated by 1326, and its solidly built tower bears witness to its once having been a fortified church. Sulzbach's historical claim to fame stems from the birth of two industries of rather disproportionate importance to the village's size. Both also sprang from the same family. The Sulzbach village smith, Johann Nikolaus Stumm (born 1669), bought up several old Hunsrück hammermills and ran them with such great success that he became the father of the Saarland’s smelting industry. The later “iron barons” of the family Stumm dominated and characterized the Saar region's economic history for a good two hundred years. While Johann Nikolaus might have been said to concern himself with the “rougher” things in life as an industrialist, his younger brother, Johann Michael Stumm (born 1683) was rather one who concerned himself with the finer things in life. Johann Michael was a skilled goldsmith and a music lover, and became the founder of the Stumm organ-building “dynasty”. His last instrument, completed in 1746, is still in service at the church in his home village.

Solidly built of stone, quite large, and intended for the retired employees of the Bristol banker who built them, they are remarkably forward-looking in their selective appropriation of Tudor elements such as fancy twisted brick chimmney stacks to make picturesque and comfortable middle-class homes in a version of English vernacular architecture.

The tunnel was eventually opened in August 1847 after remedial works, Captain Coddington having returned and reported: > About 50 or 60 years ago a Tunnel was constructed for canal purposes which > proved a failure and was abandoned, I enquired what precautions had been > taken at the crossing, and was informed that the old Tunnel had been > completely taken out, and that in addition a length of twenty feet of the > old tunnel on either side of the new one had been built solid with rubble > masonry. It appears that Mr Peto the contractor, for the accommodation of > those parties whose property lies above the line of the old Tunnel, agreed > to strengthen it by building a certain number of cross walls at short > intervals. The mode adopted in doing it was to drive a small gallery > laterally from the side of the new Tunnel to reach the old one at a point > some distance beyond the 20 feet which had been solidly built up. Through > this gallery the materials were introduced and 3, 4 or more cross walls > about 10 feet apart were built within it.

The main draw for Olmsted was the vast electrical dynamos of Niagara Falls, supplying power to the Pitts Company, which would enable him to use controllable large-horsepower electric motors to produce high-velocity wind to test propellers and plane models accurately in a wind-tunnel. In the spring of 1910 Olmsted led an attempt by the Pitts company to begin the production of airplanes in contrast to the steam tractors they were producing. He began by designing and constructing a prototype plane of solid construction, as opposed to the ultra-light construction of the day, a plane which would have inherent stability and an efficient stream-lined profile. The plane was as light and graceful as the Pitts company’s steam engines were heavy and cumbersome. Unfortunately, the Buffalo Pitts Company was too late in its attempt to diversify and fell a victim to the depression of 1912-14. Nearly completed by 1912, the Olmsted monocoque Bird would be one of the first true solidly-built “airplanes” of scientifically engineered design and structure ever to be constructed. Its wings were made of thin-gauge chrome-vanadium steel sheets, aluminum, and basswood laminations, all firmly riveted together.

The Norman font dates to 1080 and is still in use The present church was built of stone rubble with limestone details by Edward Ashworth in 1862-5 to replace a Norman church of 1260 which in turn was built on the site of a Saxon church of cob and wattle which was standing at the time of the Norman Conquest. Various fittings and monuments were retained from the old church. The solidly built tower is from 1260 and is all that survives of the original building; it is finished with a battlemented parapet and holds a peal of eight bells, five of which were cast in 1722 and three in 1876. To the right of the tower is the town's War Memorial showing the names of those who died in the two World Wars.'A Guide to St Mary's: the Parish Church of Bideford' pg 5 The pulpit dates to 1894 and is of Devon marble By the main entrance to the church can be found a holy water stoup of ancient but indeterminate date while nearby are records relating to Raleigh, one of the first Native Americans to be brought to England.

Born in Cefn Mawr, near Ruabon, he began his football career with local-based Druids in 1882. He immediately became a key member of the side which reached the fifth round of the FA Cup, going out to Blackburn Olympic in February 1883. A "solidly built" and totally reliable player, who was "strong in the tackle", his enthusiasm "drew the best out of his colleagues". In 1886, he joined Newton Heath, along with his Druids teammates, brothers Jack and Roger Doughty. He made his competitive debut for the club in their first ever FA Cup match against Fleetwood Rangers on 30 October 1886, playing at centre-half. Davies played for Newton Heath for four seasons, making just over 50 competitive appearances and scoring seven goals, including 21 appearances in the Football Alliance in 1889–90. In August 1890, he was transferred to Wolverhampton Wanderers of the First Division, where he made his debut on 15 September 1890 in a 4–2 win at Sunderland. Wolves reached the final of the FA Cup in 1893, but despite being a regular in the Football League with 18 appearances in 1892–93, Davies was not selected for the final against Everton, with Wolves fielding an all-English side.
