The Tibetan antelope or chiru (Pantholops hodgsonii) (, pronounced ; "【藏羚羊】 zànglíngyáng" A Dictionary of Current Chinese Ed. 7 2016 pg 1633) is a medium- sized bovid native to the Tibetan plateau. Fewer than 150,000 mature individuals are left in the wild, but the population is currently thought to be increasing. In 1980s and 1990s, they had become endangered due to massive illegal poaching. They are hunted for their extremely soft, light and warm underfur which is usually obtained after death.
Within rooms, closets and windows are also notably large and soft light is present throughout the hall. The building was designed to house 130 students split between two double rooms and 126 singles, but now fits up to 202 students, demonymously referred to as "Cushlings". The house presently includes single dorms, one-room doubles, and two-room doubles and triples. Upon opening in 1927 (prior to Vassar's 1969 transition from being an all- female to co-ed college), the dormitory was limited to housing freshmen.
Gilligan's big break came when he joined the Fox television drama The X-Files. Gilligan was a fan of the show, and submitted a script to Fox which became the second- season episode "Soft Light". He went on to write 29 more episodes, in addition to being co-executive producer of 44 episodes, executive producer of 40, co- producer of 24, and supervising producer of 20. He also co-created and became executive producer of The X-Files spin-off series The Lone Gunmen.
The artist used the figures to play with the visual effects produced by the figures in the water. Landscape with rainbow, Henley-on-Thames His later landscapes painted in England in the 1670s and 1680s retained their Flemish character by representing a universal theme. This stands in contrast to Dutch landscape paintings of the period, which typically concentrated on a single aspect of a landscape. Siberechts' landscapes depicted powerful trees and soft light on distant hills while the figures became less important than the landscape itself.

Studios sprang up in cities around the world, some cranking out more than 500 plates a day. The style of these early works reflected the technical challenges associated with 30-second exposure times and the painterly aesthetic of the time. Subjects were generally seated against plain backgrounds and lit with the soft light of an overhead window and whatever else could be reflected with mirrors. As photographic techniques developed, an intrepid group of photographers took their talents out of the studio and onto battlefields, across oceans and into remote wilderness.
Polymorphs appear to be able to drain emotions from mechanoids and holograms, and are able to physically touch soft-light holograms. A genetic mutant documentary in "Can of Worms" mentions that a female polymorph deposits a passing organism with her eggs while disguising herself as a mate. Kryten also explains that these eggs hatch soon after the host body for them is found and that polymorphs often die after this exhaustive process is complete, ending their life cycle. The Grant Naylor novel Better Than Life (1990) provides a slightly different origin to the polymorphs.
Poggenbeek began painting at the age of nineteen, first studying under J. D. Veldhuizen and later working at the Amsterdam Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten. For a while he painted ducks and calves under willows exactly like Willem Maris, but he more lastingly influenced by Anton Mauve, whose soft, light tone and delicate quiet lyricism he shared. His tonality and composition also show the influence of Boudin, Corot and Jongkind. From 1880 to 1885 he travelled to Italy, where he spent time in Venice and on the island of Capri.
The original Lister also realises that the parallel Lister's relationship with Kochanski was rekindled. Kryten later tells the original Lister that after the parallel Lister's death, that dimension's Lister was originally a soft light hologram before becoming hard light, and this made him "caring in a way that most men aren't". Kochanski asks Lister to fill an in-vitro tube with Lister's DNA, as she hopes to one day have children. When Lister realises that he is his own father and Kochanski is "me ex-girlfriend and me mum", Lister hurries to retrieve the tube.
The enemy AI, considered one of the most important features of the game, was developed to make random choices; they study their surroundings, finding tactics to attack the player. This uniqueness to gameplay was a factor into the attempt at making players feel emotions towards the enemies. The lighting engine was also re-created to incorporate soft light, in which the sunlight seeps in through spaces and reflects off surfaces. The team found great difficulty in developing the gameplay for The Last of Us, as they felt that every mechanic required thorough analysis.
Segala was one of the more distinguished of the Venetian artists of the 18th century, although not the equal of masters such as Giovanni Battista Tiepolo or Sebastiano Ricci. He developed a fluid style with delicate colors and a soft light. He followed his teachers in using deep shadows in his work, perhaps excessively, but made skilled use of illumination. The picture of the Conception, which he made for the college of La Carità, was highly praised by Zanetti and is said to be equal to those of the finest artists of his day.
Gordonia lasianthus (loblolly-bay, holly-bay, gordonia, or bay) is a small to medium-sized evergreen tree or shrub found in acidic, swampy soils of pinelands and bays on the Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plains of the southeastern United States. It is a member of the tea or family Theaceae. It is slow growing with soft, light-colored (varies in color from cream to carmine), fine-grained wood of little commercial value, although loblolly-bay could be managed as a source of pulpwood. When older specimens are cut, the wood exudes a strong scent.
Painting a subject using acrylic black paint mixed with body cream Taking low-key photographs is possible in dark rooms where light penetrates only through a small window or a single unidirectional soft light, but the best results are achieved by using artificial studio lights. Sometimes, a single directed light source is sufficient. Usually, well- targeted sources are used to get the desired effect, since a large light source could considerably reduce the desired result. Special attention is paid to having sufficient neutral details that will, invariably, be left in the shade.
Kloer considered the pilot to be "not particularly good or bad", and felt the series was doomed to fail quickly. He did, however, praise the series cinematography as being "more like a film than a TV series, very beautiful with lots of soft light". Ron Miller of TV Weekly, however, praised the series when it was released. As it entered its second season, he renewed his praise, noting the more successful series was now "thumbing its nose at all the prognosticators" who had considered it unlikely to succeed.
Lambert's most famous painting is "A view of Box Hill, Surrey" "A view of Box Hill, Surrey" at The Tate (1733) which depicts a well-known beauty spot south of London. Hogarth considered Lambert a rival to the famous French landscape painter Claude Lorrain (1600–1682) with respect to his use of soft light to unify the scene in this painting. Though he never visited Italy he was inspired by the classical tradition of landscape painting. Lambert died on 30 November 1765 at his home on the Piazza in Covent Garden.
Peterman was able to shoot nighttime scenes in six foot-candles of soft light without the aid of high-speed film stock or lenses. Peterman was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography on the 1983 film, Flashdance, starring Jennifer Beals. However, he lost to Sven Nykvist at the 56th Academy Awards. Peterman received his second nomination for in 1986 for his work on Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, which was directed by Leonard Nimoy, but lost to Chris Menges at the 59th Academy Awards in 1987.
The Seoul World Cup Stadium, the largest football-specific stadium in Asia, proudly exhibits its Korean roots. The roof has the unique shape of a traditional Korean kite, is 50 meters high, is supported by 16 masts, and covers 90% of the stadium’s seats. Clad with fiberglass fabric and polycarbonate glazing its looks as if it is made out of hanji – traditional Korean paper. At nighttime, illuminations bathe the stadium in a warm, soft light, much like the light shining through the paper of a traditional Korean lamp.
Henningsen spent developing lighting that was not harsh and glaring but shed warm, soft light. The first lamps in the "PH" range were shown at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts at Paris in 1925. The PH-lamp which, like his later designs, used carefully analyzed reflecting and baffling of the light rays from the bulb to achieve glare-free and uniform illumination. His light fixtures were manufactured by Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, a company with which Henningsen would build a lifelong working relationship.
He also encouraged her to write her memoirs. The memoirs fell into the hands of celebrated author Octave Mirbeau and proved so compelling that Mirbeau immediately arranged to have them published. Though success and critical acclaim followed quickly on the heels of the December 1910 publication of Audoux's memoirs, her next book was ten years in the making. The Studio of Marie-Claire, published in 1920, was merely a modest success; none of her subsequent novels--From the Mill to the Town (1926), The Fiancee (1932), and finally Soft Light, (1937)--matched the success of her bestseller debut.
It forms a dense, but soft light grey, or darker, fine- grained stone, which splits into well-defined slabs. The strata, in which it occurs, is a 3.0 to 3.1 billion year-old, over 2 kilometer-thick assemblage of arenaceous sediments, conglomerates, grits, basic volcanics, tuffs, coarse pyroclastic rocks and quartzite called the "Dominion Group". Originally, pyrophyllite was quarried and locally used for tombstones and building stone and to carve ornaments and utensils such as pots, dishes and cases. Currently, it is milled and processed near where it is mined to produce material used for the production of a wide variety of products.
Ten years after Crosfield's frustrated attempt to design a cheque sorting machine, the Scottish banks came to Crosfield and asked him to build a banknote sorting machine. The American equipment then used for cheque sorting could not handle the soft, light paper of used, sometimes sticky banknotes. In 1959, Crosfield set up a team of engineers at Fortress Road, London, and in 1964 they produced the first banknote sorting machines for the Scottish banks. He used optical character recognition and a new patented process for handling small, flimsy pieces of paper, called the 'Double curvature sheet feeder'.
This focal point of the architectural composition is plunged into darkness but bathed in a soft light green (the color of Islam) passing through the windows of the dome. The mihrab has the shape of a horseshoe, in white stone from Keddāl, and is supported by two columns of dark green marble. Inside is a rich sculptural decoration with two separate levels separated by a band of white marble covered with Qur'anic verses in Kufic characters. The lower level has nine vertical grooves ending in shell-shapes at their upper ends, above which are decorations of clover in high relief.
Mendes asked Hall to prepare the shot in his absence; Hall assumed the characters would look for privacy, so he placed them in a narrow passage between a truck and the building, intending to light from the top of the truck. When Mendes returned, he explained that the characters did not care if they were seen. He removed the truck and Hall had to rethink the lighting; he lit it from the left, with a large light crossing the actors, and with a soft light behind the camera. Hall felt the consequent wide shot "worked perfectly for the tone of the scene".
David Watkin BSC (23 March 1925 – 19 February 2008) was a British cinematographer, an innovator who was among the first directors of photography to experiment heavily with the usage of bounce light as a soft light source. He worked with such film directors as Richard Lester, Peter Brook, Tony Richardson, Mike Nichols, Ken Russell, Franco Zeffirelli, Sidney Lumet and Sydney Pollack. In 1985, Watkin won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for his work on Out of Africa. He received lifetime achievement awards in 2004 from the British Society of Cinematographers and the cinematographic-centric Camerimage Film Festival in Łódź, Poland.
Due to the influence of Shanghainese, Wu as a whole is incorrectly labelled in English as simply, "Shanghainese", when introducing the language family to non-specialists. Wu is the more accurate terminology for the greater grouping that the Shanghainese variety is part of; other less precise terms include "Jiangnan speech" (), "Jiangzhe (Jiangsu–Zhejiang) speech" () and less commonly "Wuyue speech" (). The Wu group (Southern Wu in particular) is well known among linguists and sinologists as being one of the most internally diverse among the Sinitic groups, with very little mutual intelligibility between varieties across subgroups. Among speakers of other Sinitic languages, Wu is often subjectively judged to be soft, light and flowing.
Kryten also explains that because "Billy" has the same upbringing growing up with "Sebastian", Rimmer couldn't blame his own shortcomings on Rimmer's parents. The four nearly commit suicide together, but a mood stabiliser saves them at the last second. In "Psirens" (1993), Kryten explains that Red Dwarf was "stolen", with the crew now based inside Starbug chasing after Red Dwarf to recover it. In "Legion" (1993), Rimmer encounters a being known as Legion (Nigel Williams), who upgrades Rimmer's projection unit from "soft light" to "hard light", giving him a physical form and the ability to interact directly with the world, in addition to making him virtually indestructible.

" In a five star review from Christian Review, Leah St. John calling professing, "It is essentially a pop album, with sound songwriting and God honouring lyrics throughout." In a three star review by The Sound Opinion, Lindsay Williams expressing, "The 21-year-old fearlessly trades in the soft, light acoustic musings of her debut for fierce guitars, abundant percussion and artful introspection." Michel K. Smith, reviewing the album at Charisma, writes, "the new collection of songs is sure to excite fans of her debut album, I Choose Jesus, while also engaging a whole new audience...With a stronger, bolder sound, Peters builds on her challenge to listeners to bravely follow Christ...with a fun and powerful new sound.
The authors later noted that subsequent searching of the type locality, as well as other locations in southern Finland, failed to turn up additional examples of this species. The external appearance of the fruit body is unremarkable, and similar to other soft, light-coloured pored crust fungi such as Hyphodontia radula, Ceriporiopsis balaenae, and young specimens of Ceriporiopsis resinascens. The microscopic characteristics of S. friata however, are quite distinct from others in Skeletocutis: "Generative hyphae dominate all parts of the basidiocarp as a delicate, uniform network, and skeletals intermingle as isolated, worm-like structures." The fungus is named (friata) for the friable (easily crumbled) texture the fruit bodies take on when dry.
The first single was "Endless Wave" which was released in 1998 in conjunction with "Northern Spirit" which appeared on Magik Four: A New Adventure and "Outstream". It was released on Data Records and Planetary Consciousness in 1999, "Endless Wave" also included two remixes from Tiësto's song "Theme From Norefjell", another version features remixes from "Endless Wave" which was mixed in Global Clubbing: The Netherlands and "Outstream" as a B-side. "Endless Wave" and the duo's next B-side "Cryptomnesia" were played in Live at Innercity: Amsterdam RAI. In 1999, "Far From Over" became the next Kamaya Painters single with "Cryptomnesia" which was included in Magik Five: Heaven Beyond and "Soft Light" as B-sides.
That year he formed the group the Soft light, who recorded several songs, including "Out-of-Sight", and appeared the television programs, Disc-O-Ten in 1968 and Saturday Session in 1969. In 1974 he created and produced a one-hour TV special that aired on the local NBC affiliate WAVY-TV called "Rock Me" featuring his band, Mad Wax, and other local bands. During the 1970s, he fronted Mad Wax, Dean on lead guitar and lead vocals, George Newsome on bass and vocals, and Tom Ryan on drums, a power trio that recorded an unreleased album. The band's name at first was Spectrum but after four months was changed to Mad Wax.
The theatre was financed by a joint stock company and built in 1864 as the Strand Musick Hall by Bassett and Keeling. This large theatre, with over 2,000 seats,Arthur Lloyd Music Hall site (early history of the Gaiety) accessed 1 March 2007 was built at a time when many new theatres were being built in London.Arthur Lloyd Music Hall site (on Gaiety) The Times 11 December 1868 accessed 1 March 2007 Unlike at many other music halls, the proprietors decided to ban smoking and drinking within the hall, and these activities were accommodated in the adjacent saloons. A novel gas lighting system was incorporated in the hall, using prisms and mirrors to create a soft light.
301x301px The relatively low cost of the daguerreotype in the middle of the 19th century and the reduced sitting time for the subject, though still much longer than now, led to a general rise in the popularity of portrait photography over painted portraiture. The style of these early works reflected the technical challenges associated with long exposure times and the painterly aesthetic of the time. Hidden mother photography, in which portrait photographs featured young children's mothers hidden in the frame to calm them and keep them still, arose from this difficulty. Subjects were generally seated against plain backgrounds, lit with the soft light of an overhead window, and whatever else could be reflected with mirrors.
The large cream- coloured façade acts as the solid feature to the flow to the Warrigal Road traffic, which also blends into the fabric of the adjacent brick domestic housing. A pattern of rectangular opaque coloured glazing (which alludes to medieval precedent) is embedded into the brick façade which act as soft light walls for the interior classrooms, which help complement the solid steel structure exposed on both exterior and interior. Above the wall are timber slats which line the under-side of the ceiling on the exterior. The steel structures are notably evident primarily in the courtyard; pilotis which support sections of the first level thus allowing more space and movement below.
It includes a dual 13 MP primary camera + 5 MP depth sensor with f/2.2 and f/2.4 aperture respectively and can shoot videos up to 4k@60fps, both DCI and UHD quality ( only 6gb ram model which also offers 16+5 mp rear camera with flash and 16 mp front camera with soft light LED flash). The phone comes with 41 sensors. It features a 5000 mAh battery and runs on a stock Android operating system based on Android Oreo 8.1. The phone received Android 9 pie from May 2019 through Asus website The phone has multiple connectivity options including Bluetooth v5.0, WiFi 802.11, b/g/n, VoLTE, Voice over Wi-Fi, a 3.5 mm audio jack and Micro-USB.
A thin aluminium or steel layer, which is applied to the reverse of the fabric using ultra modern technical engineering, reduces the ingress of sun rays and incoming light through effective reflection to create a soft light without glare, whilst simultaneously minimising the ingress of heat. The coating achieves function values which are impossible to attain with conventional textiles. If special properties are in demand for delicate and exacting applications such as in office buildings, museums or the health care sector Création Baumann has a palette of innovative and functional textiles. The spectrum includes blackout fabrics, textiles for privacy and glare protection, flame retardant fabrics, fabrics which have been tested for harmful substances and textiles that offer acoustic solutions to direct and control sound.

Writing in Toronto Life in June 2001, Robert Fulford maintained that "Siddiqui makes the most strenuous effort to bathe Third World countries in a soft light. No matter how outrageous its actions, a non-Western government can usually count on him for a little understanding." In a June 2013 column, Siddiqui demanded that Canada's Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Jason Kenney "should resign or be fired."Full Pundit: Look what you’ve done, Mike Duffy by Chris Selley, National Post, 3 June 2013. In an article the following month, Siddiqui accused Kenney, of "turn[ing] immigration into a tool of anti-Arab and anti-Muslim bigotry," and of "barring refugee claimants from ‘safe third countries.’"Memo to Chris Alexander, Canada’s new immigration minister by Haroon Siddiqui, Toronto Star, 25 July 2013.
According to Master of Wine Jancis Robinson, Manto negro tends to produce lightly colored, soft, light bodied red wines that are often high in alcohol. In Mallorca, the grape is often blended with lower-alcohol and more structured varieties such as Callet though in DOs such as Binissalem-Mallorca, Manto negro still must account for at least 30% of the final wine blend. The age of the vine has a distinct influence on the resulting flavor profile and quality of the wines produced by Manto negro with younger vines tending to produce lighter, more red-fruit flavors while older vines (which also tends to naturally produce lower yields) more often produced more concentrated dark fruit flavors. During winemaking, Manto negro responds well to oak treatment but can be prone to oxidation.
Theda Bara (1885–1955) By Midsummer 2006, the Sunday Times had discerned a trend that fused aspects of boho-chic with "heavy metal attitude": "It's about wearing a studded leather jacket with a flimsy chiffon number, stomping about town in biker boots ... and wearing anything with a skull on it".Claudia Croft, Style, 2 July 2006 The newspaper referred to this style, which had been a feature of collections for Autumn 2006 by Christian Dior and John Galliano, as "boho-rock" and noted that both Sienna Miller and Kate Moss had adopted it. "Gothic rock"Evening Standard Magazine, 15 September 2006 had similar connotations. A look described by the Sunday Times in Autumn 2006 as "modern goth" was a more stylised version, exuding a "bondage vibe" and contrasting "soft, light fabrics ... with the harsh sleekness of patent [leather]".
Resurrected as a 'soft-light' hologram, Rimmer was unable to touch or interact with his environment until the series VI episode "Legion" where he became a 'hard-light' hologram. Rimmer first appeared in Red Dwarfs first episode "The End" (1988), where he is characterised as second technician on board the mining ship Red Dwarf, ranking above Dave Lister (Craig Charles), the lowest ranked crew member on board the ship with whom he shares quarters, and below all four of the service robots. As a technician, Rimmer does maintenance work on vending machines that not even the robots are assigned to. Rimmer is shown having difficulty revising for his "engineer's exam" which he hopes to pass and become an officer after having failed before prior to the episode, and he reveals that he wasn't academy educated unlike others who had become officers.
They reformed the group adding Ines Rangil, José García and Iñigo Zubizarreta to the group, establishing Izaskun as the female leader of the team and recovering the style of the first years, without a particular soloist at all. This Mocedades made in 1995 another album entitled "Suave luz" ("Soft light") before the new members left it again in 1996. They were quickly replaced by Idoia Arteaga, Jose Antonio Las Heras, Arsenio Gutierrez and Fernando Gonzalez, and this new team worked again with Juan Carlos Calderon to make an album for Walt Disney Records, where they performed their own versions of Disney songs in Spanish. They started appearing in television again, but suddenly, in 1999, Izaskun had a car accident which forced her to stay in bed for two years, and in the meantime, the group ceased its activity.
In addition to his work as an actor, Alon directed plays in Israel and abroad. In Israel he directed: "Interview" by Jean-Claude van Itallie with "The Left Bank" theater group which won the first prize in the Arena International Theater Festival in Germany, "Mein Kampf" by George Tabori which won the best director award and 3 best acting awards in the Israeli national festival for contemporary theater and The Golden Hedgehog award for best actor, "The Balcony" by Jean Genet. He also directed overseas:"Salome" by Oscar Wilde – Bombay, India; "Six Characters in Search of an Author" by Luigi Pirandello; "Woyzeck" by Georg Buchner and “Life of an Actor” – Madras, India; "Buddhist Bible 4" – Bangkok, Thailand; "Five" – New Zealand, "A Room With Soft Light" – South Korea, "My Fado" – Lisbon, Portugal, and "The Invisible Village" – Taipei, Taiwan.
The low carport ceiling creates a compression of space that is released when entering the main building, where the dendriform columns rise over two stories tall; the interior space thus appears larger than it is. Compression and release of space were concepts that Wright used in many of his designs, including the playroom in his Oak Park Home and Studio, the Unity Temple in Oak Park, Illinois, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City, and many others. Throughout the Great Workroom, which has no internal walls, the thin, white dendriform columns rise to circular "lily pad" tops that form the ceiling, with the spaces between the circles consisting of skylights made of Pyrex glass tubing. At the corners, where the walls usually meet the ceiling, the glass tubes continue up and over and connect to the skylights, creating a clerestory effect and admitting a soft light.
Arnold Judas Rimmer is a fictional character in the science fiction sitcom Red Dwarf, played by Chris Barrie. Portrayed as a snobbish and self-centered character, Rimmer is unpopular with his crewmates and is often the target of insults and general ridicule. After he is killed by a radiation leak during an ellipsis in the series' first episode "The End" (1988) Rimmer is present for most of the series as a computer-generated hologram, indicated by the 'H' symbol on his forehead. From series I-V, Rimmer is intangible as a hologram and unable to interact with his environment, referred to in-universe as 'soft- light'; come the series VI episode "Legion" (1993), Rimmer's LightBee is upgraded as a 'hard-light' hologram where he is now able to interact with his surroundings as well as being essentially indestructible, yet still able to feel pain.
Franeleros are people who have as main activity guarding or keeping an eye on cars parked in several streets in certain places in large Mexican cities, getting a tip as a reward, which sometimes is established by them. The term comes from the Spanish word franela, meaning flannel, which is a small piece of soft light fabric (normally washed out red or gray) which they use to wash the cars if they are asked to, or to simply wave it around to give parking indications. Franeleros are sometimes also known as cuida-coches (car keepers) or "viene vienes" (literally "come come"), which is the phrase they commonly say while giving the parking indications. In 2007, due to the criticisms around this controversial "occupation" (mainly extortion, grand theft auto, relation with organized crime and illegal use of public space) this guarding activity became illegal in Mexico City, but it is still widely practiced.
In the first two series it is a grey-and-beige shirt-and-tie ensemble; in Series III and IV this becomes a green suit with a shiny high-collared jacket, which is changed to red in Series V; in Series VI and VII, Rimmer's jacket becomes quilted and is red when he is in soft-light form and blue for hard-light; the alive Rimmer in Series VIII wears an all-beige uniform similar in design to the original. In the 2009 three-part special Back to Earth, Rimmer wears a blue suit similar to his Series III and VI green suit but with the addition of a plain waist-high belt worn over the jacket and a quilted collar. From Series X onward, Rimmer sports a dark blue tunic; lacking the belt and light blue boots of the Back to Earth outfit. The 'H' on his forehead also changes from series to series: it starts as a grey colour and a blocky shape; in Series III, it becomes bright blue and reflective; in Series V, it's changed to a thinner and more stylised font.
