The Narborough Trout & Coarse Lakes are in the village with trout and coarse fishing and its own smokery. The village is on the Nar Valley Way path. Narborough aerodrome was opened in May 1915 and used principally for defence against Zeppelin raids. The aerodrome was complemented by a separate base just a few miles down the road at Marham.

Bratton Court was designated as a Grade I listed building on 22 May 1969. At the time of listing, the building was in use as a farmhouse and had been divided into two dwellings. The associated gatehouse and barn which abut the west end of the court date from the fifteenth century and are also designated as Grade I buildings. In 2002 a planning application was submitted to convert the stables into a cafe, craft centre, smokery and offices.

Timmernabben is a locality situated in Mönsterås Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 1,276 inhabitants in 2010. Nowadays it is mainly a commuter village on the Baltic coast with hardly any own industry or service. The only exceptions are the burnt almond workshop Råsnäs, the fish smokery and the ceramics factory Gabriel Keramik. The village has a history as a shipping harbor for timber, which has given the name to this settlement: "the peninsula where they ship timber".

The village has a smokery; the building burnt down on Christmas Eve 2008 and was rebuilt. At the start of Loch Awe, a great spot for a pike fishing or watching wildlife is An Lodan Bay, now more commonly referred to as Torran Bay, which has a hostel. Also to be built within the next year will be a new village shop, farm shop, bar restaurant and function room next to the hostel. There are historic paddocks along the side of the ford to Dalavich road.

Its proximity to the Dogger Bank has meant that a number of fishing boats from Whitby and elsewhere on the north east coast have relocated there. Adjacent shops include many fresh fish outlets and fish processing, mainly crab and prawn, continues in industrial units. The Fish Quay was once the biggest kipper producer in the UK, but the fall in herring stocks has reduced the trade to a single smokery. A number of traditional smokehouses still exist but have been converted to other uses.

Its location in an old herring smokery harks back to the town's status as a major fishing port. Sections of the historic town wall stand opposite the museum, next to the Great Yarmouth Potteries, part of which is housed in another former smoke house. The town wall is among the most complete medieval town walls in the country, with 11 of the 18 original turrets still standing. 1986 saw Prim ride a disappointing Giro d'Italia when he finished 21st overall, this prompted his team to say they would not ride the Tour of Sweden which they had always done since its reintroduction in 1982. Tommy's reaction to this was to announce his retirement from cycling midway through the 1986 season at the young age of 31, he was feeling tired and felt he could no longer give it 100%. After his retirement from cycle racing, Tommy opened a bike shop back in his native Sweden, he then moved to other employment working for a mail order firm, a saw mill and then a salmon smokery. In 2000, Tommy was offered the chance to become team manager at the small UCI registered Team Crescent, a Swedish pro squad which was to promote Swedish under 23 riders.
