Pneumatic trail is caused by the progressive build-up of lateral force along the length of the contact patch, such that lateral forces are greater towards the rear of the contact patch (though less so when the rear of the contact patch begins sliding) and this creates a torque on the tire called the self aligning torque. Because the direction of the side-slip is towards the outside of a turn, the force on the tire is towards the center of the turn. Therefore, this torque tends to turn the front wheel in the direction of the side-slip, away from the direction of the turn.

Since the direction of the side-slip is towards the outside of the turn, the force on the tire is towards the center of the turn. Therefore, this torque tends to turn the front wheel in the direction of the side-slip, away from the direction of the turn, and therefore tends to increase the radius of the turn. Another torque is produced by the finite width of the contact patch and the lean of the tire in a turn. The portion of the contact patch towards the outside of the turn is actually moving rearward, with respect to the wheel's hub, faster than the rest of the contact patch, because of its greater radius from the hub.
Siniša Glavašević, a reporter for Croatian Radio and a native of Vukovar, who had stayed in the town throughout the battle, described the scene as the survivors emerged: alt=A street of ruined buildings with rubble strewn across the road. Some Croatian soldiers continued to resist until 20 November and a few managed to slip away from Borovo Naselje as late as 23 November.Nazor, November 2008 Foreign journalists and international monitors entered the town soon after the surrender and recorded what they saw.
Though the visitors led 46-37 at half-time in large part thanks to its star duo of Morse (25 points overall) and Meneghin, they had lost playmaker Aldo Ossola to a season ending knee injury earlier in the game and could not shake off their rivals. Innocenti put in an assured collective performance, with notable performances from Bariviera and Ferracini, clawing at Ignis' lead until Cerioni scored a long range basket with seconds left to take the game. Despite this victory, Innocenti saw the first place slip away from them in the penultimate league round as they lost 76-68 away to a competitive Forst. Though they missed Lienhard to injury, Cantù could count on the ever reliable Marzorati to answer Barivera's 24 points.
Matters get worse when Mary's boss, lecherous H. Harrington Hubbell (Robert Benchley), tries to invite her out for dinner, while Jack's would-be "patron", a lonely, libidinous, rich older woman, Elise Peabody Willington Smythe (Laura Hope Crews), tries to maintain her monopoly over Jack. When Jack accompanies Mary to a company picnic, they slip away from the group together and miss the bus back to town, forcing them to take a taxi. When they arrive at Jack's home, Mary realizes that Jack is her roommate. Trying to allay what he assumes are her suspicions about the arrangement, and unaware Mary is the person with whom he has been sharing the attic loft, Jack strongly denounces his co-tenant to her until the landlord comes and explains all.
The British faced north against the Senussi rearguard backed against the sea but most of the Senussi had retreated westwards with their livestock and as dark fell, the rearguard was able to slip away from Wadi Senab and Wadi Majid along the rocky shore, where the cavalry could not follow. At Gordon ended the pursuit and ordered the infantry to bivouac at Gebel Medwa and the cavalry to return to Matruh. The defeat lowered Senussi prestige but the inability of the British cavalry to exploit the victory, left the Senussi main body intact. British casualties were and and about were killed and Jaafar Pasha's baggage was taken and some of the dead were seen to be the Egyptian coastguards who had deserted.
In the early days banking was performed by a pilot engine attaching to the front of the train, with rear banking only in emergency. Reason included the use of dummy rather sprung buffers, the Norris Class A Extras have adaptations to increase the adhesive weight under load. At the top the banking pilot would slip away from the train engine which would slack off power and allow the pilot to draw ahead by 30 yards and be directed into a siding with the policeman then reseting the points for the train to continue on the main line. From May 1842 after the Norris engines were saddletanked they operated all trains up and down the Lickey themselves with train engines being detached and remaining either at the North or South end of the incline.
The Huffington Post suggested that the videos were a form of procrastination, with most being watched while at work or ostensibly studying, while IU Bloomington commented "[it] does more than simply entertain; it boosts viewers' energy and positive emotions and decreases negative feelings". BusinessInsider argues "This falls in line with a body of research regarding the effects that animals have on people." A 2015 study by Jessica Gall Myrick found that people were more than twice as likely to post a picture or video of a cat to the internet than they were to post a selfie. Maria Bustillos considers cat videos to be "the crystallisation of all that human beings love about cats", with their "natural beauty and majesty" being "just one tiny slip away from total humiliation", which Bustillos sees as a mirror of the human condition.
Lestock replied that he was doing all he could, but that some of his ships were slow. He did not however order his faster ones forwards, nor did he follow Mathews' signal to engage, allowing four lagging Spanish ships to slip away from him. After the action Lestock argued that the signal for the line was still flying, which he saw as his primary duty to obey. He would only therefore follow the signal to engage when he could do so from his position in the line. When challenged why he had allowed such a gap to open between the rear and the rest of the fleet the previous night, Lestock claimed that the rules required him to follow the signal to ‘bring to’ the moment it was given, this taking precedence over the signal to move to line abreast.
This turns out to be a ruse by the CIA so they can bring Alex to Joe Byrne, the chief of the CIA. Byrne reveals that the CIA have conducted an investigation into Drevin's wealth and discovered that most of it is attained through contacts in the underworld and plans to arrest him for money laundering. Smithers, the gadget master at MI6, arrives and provides Alex with gadgets, including mosquito repellent that attracts all manner of insects, an asthma inhaler that can be used as a grenade or a knockout gas dispenser, and an iPod that allows him to listen to phone calls.
Pete kept his knowledge of the superhero's secret identity to himself, even avoiding revealing his discovery to Clark. Pete resolved to use this knowledge to help his friend, for example by creating a distraction to allow Clark to slip away from a dangerous situation without raising suspicion.Superboy (volume 1) #90, July 1961 The Legion of Super- Heroes was aware of Pete's assistance to Clark and made him an honorary member during his teenage years (as shown in Superboy (volume 1) #98). During the Legion's battle with Mordru in Adventure Comics #370 ("The Devil's Jury"), it was stated that Pete Ross's knowledge of Superboy's secret identity would one day end up saving Superman's life (explaining why the Legion allowed Pete to retain that knowledge); however, no subsequent Superboy or Superman story featuring Pete Ross, as a teenager or an adult, ever followed up on this detail.
On his arrival at Ninian Park, Cardiff manager Bobby Gould switched Evans to a midfield role where he made all of his appearances for the side. Making his debut on 2 September 2000 in a 1–1 draw with Rochdale, he went on to make a total of 35 appearances in all competitions during his first season, scoring five times, as Cardiff finished second in Division Three and were promoted to Division Two. However following promotion, Evans was unable to win a place in the side and also admitted that he lacked commitment and discipline, commenting, "There is a void in my football career where I don't really know what went wrong, when I let so much slip away from me, people questioned how much I wanted it". He was also one of four players disciplined by the FAW after missing a late night team curfew prior to a Wales under-21 match against Azerbaijan under-21s in 2001, alongside Cardiff teammates Lee Kendall and Rhys Weston.
