When successful, this "SideStepper" attack gives perpetrators access to victims' devices, including their data, as well as the power to install malicious apps.

Though the attack is hard to pull off, SideStepper shows how common corporate practices can open the door to otherwise impossible iOS attacks.

In this case, Apple hasn't yet addressed the loophole, and given that SideStepper isn't malware, the company can't simply patch the security problem.

Savvy SideStepper attackers harness this corporate loophole in order to install their own malicious apps and essentially conduct a man-in-the-middle attack.

Sidestepper is a Colombian band formed in 1996 by English DJ/producer Richard Blair (born 17 June 1965, London). Several of their albums were co-written and co-produced with Colombian singer-songwriter and producer Iván Benavides, including their influential 2003 album 3AM (In Beats We Trust). The group is one of the originators of the Colombian "electro cumbia" sound, influenced both by Afro-Colombian popular music styles like salsa and cumbia as well as electronic dance music such as drum and bass and dub. Over the years Sidestepper has included a number of vocalists and musicians who have since become well-known artists in their own right in Colombia, such as Gloria "Goyo" Martínez of ChocQuibTown, drummer Kike Egurrola (later of Bomba Estéreo), and Humberto Pernett.

Gougler was raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He played quarterback for the Harrisburg Central High School football team, where he developed a reputation as “a most illusive [sic] sidestepper.” After one year at Conway Hall, Gougler enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh where he played four years of football under coach ”Pop” Warner. Gougler was a member of the Pitt Panthers football teams from 1915-1918.

In 2010, Lionheart dismantled Zigmat and began working with singer, multi- instrumentalist and producer, Ramon Nova of Pacha Massive. The group released its debut album All Good Things on Nacional Records. Pacha Massive has shared the stage with artists like Morcheeba, Taio Cruz, Ozomatli, Café Tacvba, Los Amigos Invisibles, Aterciopelados, Sidestepper, among many others. MTV Tr3s selected Pacha Massive as the channel's first Descubre and Download artist, featuring the single "Don't Let Go".

In January 2013, The garden hosted SonEra Solar the first solar-powered music festival in Latin America. A group effort between the garden and the USAID enabled the garden to have the first festival of its kind where the instruments and equipment were powered completely by solar power. Famous Latin American artists headlined the concert such as: Aterciopelados, Sidestepper and Wapapura Solar Sound among others.

ChocQuibTown performing in 2007 Tostao convinced the Martínez siblings to move to Bogotá to pursue their musical ambitions. In Bogotá, Tostao sung with various local bands, including Mensajeros, Carbono and La Mojarra Eléctrica. Goyo was invited to join the salsa/electronic group Sidestepper \- the group's founders Richard Blair and Iván Benavides heard the musical ideas of Tostao and Goyo and encouraged them to pursue their ambitions and record their own songs. The group played frequently at bars on Bogota's 7th Avenue, often without pay.

Their debut release, All Good Things, was self-produced by Nova with additional mixing in Monterrey, Mexico by Alejandro Rosso of Plastilina Mosh. The group's first appearance in a soundtrack was featured in the 2005 film La Mujer de Hermano and was released in April 2006. It was their track Don't Let Go.The group released its debut album, All Good Things, on Nacional Records in February 2007. But, possibly, the most successful "indie" band is Sidestepper, with its fusion of Colombian traditional music, electronic and African rhythms, who already appeared in Coachella Festival in 2006. Some musical groups in the death metal genre are the world-famous Internal Suffering, Carnivore Diprosopus, Goretrade, Mindly Rotten, Suppuration, and Amputated Genitals. Colombia is also the birthplace of the well known black metal band Inquisition, now based in Seattle, Washington. Miguel Fernando Trapezaris, the bassist of Cyprus-based Epic power metal band Winter's Verge, is of Colombian descent.

KCRW Sounds Eclectico is a compilation album featuring live performances by leading Latin alternative artists on Morning Becomes Eclectic. The album was released by Nacional Records and co-produced by the show's host Nic Harcourt and veteran Latin rock artist manager Tomas Cookman. The KCRW Sounds Eclectico track listing features acts such as Julieta Venegas, Brazilian Girls, Manu Chao, Ozomatli, Café Tacvba, Kinky, Thievery Corporation, Aterciopelados, Sidestepper and Plastilina Mosh. Participating artists donated their proceeds from their live performances to KCRW, with the funds directed towards the support of music programming on the station.

There are four enemies which emerge from the pipes: the Shellcreeper; the Sidestepper, which requires two hits to flip over; the Fighter Fly, which moves by jumping and can only be flipped when it is touching a platform; and the Slipice which turns platforms into slippery ice. When bumped from below, the Slipice disappears immediately instead of flipping over and does not count toward the total number that must be defeated to complete a phase. All iced platforms return to normal at the start of each new phase. A fifth enemy, fireballs, fly around the screen instead of sticking to platforms.

After the critical and commercial success of 2000's Gozo Poderoso, which landed Aterciopelados on the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Latin Albums Sales chart as well as a coveted appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Echeverri took time off for the birth of her first child Milagros, who has proven to be a new point of artistic inspiration. The result is the self-titled album Andrea Echeverri, her first solo release. The disc was produced by Hector Buitrago from Aterciopelados and mixed by Thom Russo (Juanes, Kinky, Johnny Cash), and also features a remix from Richard Blair (Sidestepper). On "A Eme O", the album's upbeat first single, Echeverri sings “Since you were born, I've become a better lover.

In 2001 Paredes created Radical Mestizo section of Festival de México, one of the most important non-profit cultural festivals in Mexico, with 39 years of existence. Radical Mestizo has presented since 2001 ethnic, traditional, world beat, diaspora and electronic music proposals curated by Paredes. Some of those invited to the festival, and what in some cases made their first appearances in Mexico was in Radical Mestizo cycle are Ojos de Brujo, Diego el Cigala, Sidestepper, Mouss et Hakim, Chano Domínguez, Goran Bregovic, Bomba Stereo, La 33, Nortec and Seun Kuti, among others. The program includes workshops and panels by invited artists and other international specialists, for example the collaboration between the Spanish flamenco artist Diego el Cigala and the Son jarocho band, Chuchumbé.

By the time the second album Estalla was released in 2008, Bomba Estéreo had developed into a full band, with Saumet on vocals, Cadavid on percussion, Julián Salazar on guitar, and former Sidestepper collaborator Enrique "Kike" Egurrola on drums, alongside Mejía on bass and keyboard programming. Estalla was released the following year in the US under the new title Blow Up, with the single "Fuego" helping to attract new fans outside Colombia and resulting in the group being voted "Best New Band in the World" for 2010 by viewers of MTV Iggy, the television channel's outlet for alternative world music artists. In 2010 the band were one of a dozen artists commissioned by Levi's to cover songs from previous decades, as part of "Levi's Pioneer Sessions" marketing campaign. The group chose to record Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam", cited by Mejía as his favourite party record.

The origins of the group go back to 2001 when Bogotá native Simón Mejía (previously a member of 1990s Colombian alternative rock band Charconautas) was part of a loose collective of musicians and visual artists under the name A.M. 770. Their music was influenced by Colombian groups such as Sidestepper and Bloque de Busqueda who in the late 1990s had started combining traditional Colombian musical rhythms such as salsa and cumbia with modern electronic beats and dance music. A.M. 770's first musical production was the track "Ritmika" (based on a sample of a song by Venezuelan salsa band Los Blanco) on the album Colombeat, a 2002 compilation showcasing this new musical style which was put together by Colombia's foremost alternative rock band Aterciopelados for their new label Entrecasa. By 2005 A.M. 770 had effectively become Mejía's solo project and he began to focus more on the musical side of his work, changing the name of the group to Bomba Estéreo.

Richard Blair, 2016 The origins of the band can be traced back to 1992 when Richard Blair, then a studio engineer for Peter Gabriel's Real World Records label, found himself working on the album La Candela Viva by Totó la Momposina. Captivated by the mix of Latin and Afro-Caribbean sounds made by Totó and her band, he made the journey to Colombia to visit her and find out more about her music. Originally intending to stay for just a few weeks holiday, Blair ended up staying in Colombia for three years, as he immersed himself in the culture and the music of the country, funding his stay by producing and engineering the early albums by artists who would later go on to be some of Colombia's best known musicians, including Con el Corazon en la Mano by Aterciopelados and La Tierra del Olvido by Carlos Vives. Returning to the UK in 1996, Blair began DJing under the name Sidestepper and recorded the album Southern Star.

Sidestepper signed to MTM in Colombia and Chris Blackwell's US-based label Palm Pictures worldwide to produce three further albums, More Grip (2000), 3AM (In Beats We Trust) (2003) and Continental (2006), which continued to explore the salsa/drum and bass hybrid sound while incorporating other Colombian rhythms such as cumbia and bullerengue. Benavides stopped working with the group in 2007 when he moved back to Colombia from New York in order to concentrate on setting up his new project "Toda Via" to promote independent Colombian musicians. Biography of Iván Benavides as artistic producer of the 2010 "Gran Concierto Nacional", Colombian Ministry of Culture website In an interview with the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo Blair dismissed the notion that Benavides had "left" the band, saying that he had never "joined" the group or been part of the live act, and that the likes of Benavides, Pernett and Martínez were simply part of a fluid collective that changed over time. In 2008 Palm Pictures released a mix album, The Buena Vibra Sound System, consisting of previously unreleased tracks and remixes of old songs.
