David Ehrlich, IndieWire: The cast is rounded out by an incredible array of actors and comedians, including Kelly Macdonald as Holmes' secretary, Hugh Laurie as Holmes' brother, Steve Coogan as a one-armed tattoo artist, Rob Brydon as a flabbergasted inspector, and someone who shows up for a last-minute cameo so good that it almost redeems the rest of the movie.

As horror villains go, Michael is ranked very high on the "too unbelievable to be effective" meter, but there's something truly and indelibly terrifying about him, from the moment he shows up for his first killing spree as a kid, dressed in a Harlequin costume, to the time he returns to skulk silently around Laurie's suburban neighborhood, dangling a knife and wearing a mask that's dirty, mottled, and still creepy as hell.

If two more House Republicans come out against this latest iteration of the healthcare bill, it's fair to ask whether there is ANY deal surrounding the repeal and replacement of Obamacare that can get the 216 votes Republicans need to pass it (assuming every Democrat shows up for the vote.) Based on the evidence I've seen since Republicans began the formal attempt to change the health care system back in March, count me as skeptical that majority exists right now.

Ammons shows up for a reading in Virginia but refuses to read, telling his audience, "You can't possibly be enjoying this"; Seamus Heaney winks before stepping into a cab in Chicago; Donald Hall orders a burger for lunch, then confides to Wiman, who was then 38: "I was 38 when I realized not a word I wrote was going to last"; Mary Oliver picks up a dead pigeon from the sidewalk, tucks the bloody carcass into her pocket and keeps it there through an event and after-party.
