Ambush Bug appears in the series finale of Batman: The Brave and the Bold titled "Mitefall!", voiced by Henry Winkler. He tries to thwart Bat-Mite's attempts to make the show jump the shark and force its cancellation while assisting Batman and Aquaman in fighting Gorilla Grodd. In the end, the executives cancel the show.

Evans invited Dahn to send her a tape so she could hear him play. After listening to the tape, she invited him to be a guest on her nationally televised program Date With Dale. Having previously worked on programmes such as People Like Us and The Sunday Format, the show's production team worked closely with writer and director John Morton. The show jump cut between its various spoof TV channels, which covered both the central story and other stories that would be of interest to their audience. A large part of the comedy came from observations about the nature of news presentation rather than the stories themselves. The programme centred on Britain's addiction to 24-hour news channels.

After the German attack on Poland in 1939, he joined the AK and fought for Poland's independence until 1940, when he was captured and sentenced to death. However, Marusarz successfully escaped from a German prison and fled to Hungary, where he stayed until the end of the war. In 1966, he was the author of a very memorable moment for Polish supporters when organizers of the Four Hills Tournament asked him to make a show jump. Marusarz jumped 66 m at 53 years of age.

The intent is to jump cleanly over a set course within an allotted time. Time faults are assessed for exceeding the time allowance. Kennard and Turner also studied under Richard Pochinko in a new field of what he called Canadian clowning. On May 13, 1988, Mump and Smoot presented their first show, Jump the Gun. Since then they have played fringe theatres throughout Canada, regional theatres and festivals, the American Repertory Theater, associate artist positions at the Yale Repertory Theater, and Israeli and Palestinian festivals culminating with a joint workshop for Israelis and Palestinians together. In addition to theatre, Mump and Smoot have made numerous television appearances and two short films, including Laurie Lynd's The Fairy Who Didn't Want to Be a Fairy Anymore.

White was credited as a guest star in the first season and became a regular member of the cast in season two. Jo Marie Payton, who played Harriette Winslow, admitted that she felt the Urkel character had hogged much of the show's attention and disrupted the close family relationship she had formed with the rest of the cast. She experienced increasing burnout over the course of the show and felt that the overbearing focus on Urkel had made the show jump the shark; she very nearly quit when the show moved to CBS but agreed to stay for the first several episodes while a new actress, Judyann Elder, was cast as Harriet. White is one of the few living members of the cast with whom Payton no longer speaks regularly.
