They decide to return "dirt-side", only to discover that the Earth of their imaginations bears only the faintest of resemblances to the actuality, which includes things unheard of in Luna, like smog, unpleasant weather, the common cold, and repairmen who refuse to make house calls. Ultimately, they discover that all they really want is to go back to Luna City, where they are welcomed with open arms by their peers (now that they have realized that the Moon is "home" after all) and settle down to be happy "Lunatics".

Miguel Ángel is not only wanted by the police, but his life and that of the Ruizpalacios family changes from one day to the next: all the accounts closed, Miguel's assets are seized, and if he does not appear, they are to be considered fugitives from justice. Desperate and without knowing whom to turn to, Miguel Ángel decides to listen to his grandmother Matilde, who claims that they own land on the outskirts of the city that his grandfather once bought. With intentions to sell them and to make off cash money, Miguel Ángel undertakes the crusade of recovering them facing the Menchaca, the family that lives there and assures to own the place that they once bought from his grandfather. As there is no evidence of either, nor of the other the Ruizpalacios have no other choice but to settle down to live with the Menchaca, in what is the only house with which they have, as well as a restaurant and a hall of events.

Asari can live for over a thousand years, and go through three developmental psychology stages of life: the Maiden stage, where they explore the world out of curiosity and restlessness, with many trying their hand at dancing in bars or working as mercenaries during this time; the Matron stage, where they begin to feel the desire to settle down to raise children; and finally the Matriarch stage, where they are often elevated as leaders of their communities, dispensing wisdom from centuries of life experience. Their long lifespan makes them more comfortable with observation and centuries long planning. Liara is 106 years old during her first appearance, which is the equivalent to a young adult and within the Maiden stage of asari life.

In the North of England, Major-General John Lambert fought a successful campaign against several Royalist uprisings, the largest being that of Sir Marmaduke Langdale in Cumberland.. Thanks to Lambert's successes, the Scottish commander, the Duke of Hamilton, had to take a western route through Carlisle in his pro-Royalist Scottish invasion of England.. The Parliamentarians under Cromwell engaged the Scots at the Battle of Preston (17–19 August).
