Rose attended St Faith’s Primary School and Christ’s Hospital Continuation School before gaining a scholarship at age 9 to Lincoln City School. He was much influenced by the senor chemistry master there. At age 16 he was interviewed by Professor Frederic Kipping, FRS at Nottingham, and offered a place in two years’ time. He gained a first class degree, largely thanks to the quality of Kipping’s teaching.

Having worked together on the 1983 single "Ballerina (Prima Donna)", Batt phoned Steve Harley with the offer of singing as the Phantom on the track, and duly suggested Harley to Lloyd Webber. Batt believed Harley's voice was just right for the song. Although he was currently working on his own solo album El Gran Senor, under a new contract with Mickie Most's label RAK, Harley "jumped at the chance" to record the song. Harley had to audition for the recording of the song at Lloyd Webber's home.

The ruins of Seibal were probably discovered around 1890 by loggers working for the Hamett Mahogany Company. Federico Arthes, an owner of logging company Arthes and Sons, first reported the existence of the ruins of Saxtanquiqui, the Maya name of the site, in 1892 in a public article for the Guatemala City paper. He resided and did business in the Peten. The Guatemalan government nominated Senor Arthes Comisionado Especial to collect material to be displayed in the Guatemalan exhibit for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

Like many Coolmore horses, the official details of her ownership have changed from race to race: she has sometimes been listed as being the property of Michael Tabor, while on other occasions she was described as being owned by Tabor and Sue Magnier. Their music combines electronic music, jazz, hip-hop and funk, but with a distinctly international flavour, particularly South American and Cuban influences. Shining Through was a granddaughter of Sex Appeal, an outstanding broodmare who produced Try My Best and El Gran Senor. In September 1996 the yearling was sent to the Keeneland sales but failed to make his reserve price of $42,000. Bahamian Pirate entered the ownership of the Lucayan Stud, the name used for the horse racing interests of Edward St. George. St. George was a British businessman who lived in the Bahamas and gave the "Bahamian" prefix to the names of many of his racehorses including Bahamian Bounty and Bahamian Knight (Derby Italiano).

Fourstars Allstar was a bay horse with a white blaze and a long white sock on his left foreleg bred in New York by his owner Richard Bomze. The colt was trained throughout his racing career by Leo O'Brien. His sire Compliance was a full-brother to both Try My Best and El Gran Senor but less successful than his siblings and made little impact when racing in Europe before returning to the United States. He was purchased by Bomze from Windfields Farm to stand as a breeding stallion in New York.

Some of the members are in a new band named Persaeus. On June 27, 2016, nearly 8 years after the release of I, Colossus, the band finally announced that "The Devouring Storm", a single from their second album The City, will be released on July 9, with the full album coming in November 2016. The band has also started an Indiegogo campaign to fund the album. In 2017, the band announced that their new vocalist was Kevin Bivins of American deathcore bands Senor Bivins and What Lies Beneath.

In his second crop foaled in 1967, Northern Dancer sired Nijinsky, who would win the English Triple Crown and become an outstanding sire. This made Northern Dancer the focus of a bloodstock boom in the 1970s and 1980s, where his progeny would sell for millions of dollars. Northern Dancer's other important offspring included Derby winners The Minstrel and Secreto and the brilliant El Gran Senor and Nureyev.

Lear Fan (2 February 1981 - 7 July 2008) was an American-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. One of an exceptionally strong generation of European racehorses he was one of the leading two-year-olds when he was unbeaten in three races including the Champagne Stakes. In the following year he defeated Rainbow Quest in the Craven Stakes before finishing third to El Gran Senor and Chief Singer in the 2000 Guineas. He recorded his most valuable success later that year when defeating Palace Music in the Prix Jacques Le Marois.

Glaucus, a screw steamer, was in the process of being built by the Van Duesen Brothers in New York City for the Neptune Steamship Company when she was purchased on behalf of the U.S. Navy on 17 July 1863 by Rear Admiral F. H. Gregory; and commissioned 18 February 1864, Comdr. C. H. B. Caldwell in command. Glaucus was assigned to the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron, but before assuming her duties she was chosen to transport Senor Manuel Murillo, newly elected President of Colombia, to Cartagena. She departed 5 March from New York and arrived Cartagena 16 March.

In 1905, Crean married Victoria, daughter of Senor Don Thomas Heredia, of Málaga, Spain, and had two sons, Victor (died young), Patrick, and a daughter, Carmen. Victoria had been a close friend to Crean's sister Alice, since their schooling at Roehampton. He transferred to the army reserve on 8 September 1906, and started a private practice in Harley Street. He was later appointed Medical Officer in Charge of the Hospital in the Royal Enclosure, Ascot where he once performed a life saving trepanning operation on a jockey who was thrown from his horse during a race.

In the stretch, he engaged in a battle with another Irish-trained colt in Secreto and lost narrowly. Many felt that Pat Eddery had ridden an ill- judged race, hitting the front too soon, and not being able to use El Gran Senor's superior acceleration. Eddery later acknowledged that El Gran Senor should have won the race but that when the pacemakers dropped away early in the straight he found himself in the lead much earlier than intended. Secreto had finished third in the Irish 2,000 Guineas (Gr1) to Sadler's Wells over a mile at The Curragh in his previous race.

Throughout his stud career, El Gran Senor had low fertility and typically sired no more than 40 foals in any year - these days, most top sires and champions sire between 60 and 180 foals in a year. Over the course of his career, he fathered fewer than 400 foals. There were only 14 in his first foal-crop, but they included Al Hareb, who won the Racing Post Trophy (Gr1) over a mile in England. Al Hareb is at stud in Australia, and while his overall record is unremarkable, he did sire the top class sprinter Hareeba, a multiple Group 1 winning sprinter.

El Gran Senor sired a total of 12 horses who won at the highest level - Group/Grade 1. These included South African classic winner Kundalini, top American fillies Corrazona, Spanish Fern and Toussaud, Breeders' Cup Sprint hero Lit de Justice, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Belmez, and multiple European Group 1 winner Rodrigo de Triano. He was pensioned from stallion duty in 2000 at the age of 19. His final tally of 55 stakes winners represented a rate of more than 14% stakes winners to named foals - 10%+ is the usually accepted sign of a very good stallion.

Charopa finished 7th in all-around at the 2014 Holon Grand Prix. In her second World Cup event, Charopa finished 7th in all-around at the 2014 Lisboa World Cup, she qualified to all 4 event finals and won silver in ribbon. On May 3–5, Charopa then competed at the 2014 Kalamata Cup and finished 4th in all-around behind teammate Halkina. Charopa then competed at the 2014 Corbeil-Essonnes World Cup and finished 11th in all-around. On September 5–7, Charopa competed in Senor International tournament in Kazan, Russia where she won the all-around silver behind Russia's Diana Ibragimova.

At the Cartier Racing Awards in November 2006, Les Arcs was beaten by Reverence in the vote for European Champion Sprinter. In the 2006 World Thoroughbred Racehorse Rankings he was rated on 118, making him the best European-trained sprinter of that year, one pound ahead of Reverence. In March 2007, the Maryland Horse Breeders Association voted Les Arcs their Horse of the Year award for horses bred in the state, as well as the awards for best sprinter, best older male and best turf horse. He was the first horse trained outside North America to win award since El Gran Senor.

Edward Lewis took over The Haven from his father, James, when he married Beatrice Francis in 1928. This being the period of the Great Depression, the first ten years of his breeding was concentrated on survival and maintenance of the best attributes of the Hereford strain. He managed this by acquiring Free Town Bodyguard in 1946, a son of Bodyguard. Haven Victory was sold to Senor Duggan from Argentina in the February Show and Sale and Haven Broadside, another son of Bodyguard, was the first bull to make 1000 guineas at the Hereford April Sale when sold to the Duke of Newcastle.

Trained by Alain de Royer-Dupré, Darshaan was ridden by Yves Saint-Martin in all his races. As a two-year-old in 1983, he won the Group 1 Critérium de Saint-Cloud, setting a race record time of 2:07.40 for 2,000 metres that still stood going into 2010. At age three, Darshaan won the Prix Hocquart, Prix Greffulhe, and the French Classic, the Prix du Jockey Club. In the International Classification for 1984, he was the highest rated French- trained three-year-old, and the third highest-rated three-year-old in Europe behind El Gran Senor and Chief Singer.

When Richard's friend from university says that his girlfriend disappeared during this time, he says that the AAA 'drugged their victims and hauled them into aircraft and threw them into the sea' – a reference to the Death flights that happened during this era. In 1982 the Falklands War broke out after Argentina invaded the British-owned Falkland Islands. The National Reorganization Process hoped that by taking back the islands they could increase patriotism and support for their regime. Lit de Justice (January 12, 1990 – July 20, 2012) is an American Champion Thoroughbred racehorse. He was bred by Robert Sangster's Swettenham Stud and purchased by the French racing operation Mise de Moratalla, who named him for a famous Parlement of Paris known as the Lit de justice. The colt was sired by El Gran Senor, who was an outstanding son of Northern Dancer and earned Irish and English Champion honours at age two in 1983 and at three in 1984. He was out of the mare Kanmary, whose sire Kenmare was a French Group One winner and the Leading sire in France in 1988 and 1989.

Shalom Hedaya (1864 - 1945), the son of Rabbi Moshe Hayyim Hedaya and Sabtiah Shamah, was orphaned at an early age and was very poor. He was so poor he had no one to take care of him and he considered leaving the path of Torah in order to earn a living. He was fortunate enough to receive help from Ribbi Shelomo Safdeye, Ribbi Ovadiah Moshe Antebi, Ribbi Shmuel Silvera and Senor Aharon Silvera. He was taught by the great Kabbalist Ribbi Moshe Swed, the Av Beit Din Ribbi Yits`haq Bekhor Mizra`hi and later on Rabbi Shaul Sitton, who became Head of the Rabbinical Court in Buenos Aires.

Sadler's Wells was a bay horse with a broad white blaze and white socks on his hind legs. He was bred in the United States by Robert Sangster's Swettenham Stud and raced under Sangster's name. Sangster was part of the original Coolmore partnership team with Tim Vigors and trainer Vincent O'Brien, later joined by John Magnier. They became active in the North American yearling auctions starting in the mid-1970s, purchasing such notable horses as The Minstrel, Alleged, Golden Fleece and El Gran Senor, the latter whom they were part breeders of, and creating a high demand for the offspring of Northern Dancer and Nijinsky.

Chief Singer (19 March 1981 - 2000) was an Irish-bred British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a racing career which lasted from June 1983 until September 1984 he ran nine times and won four races. The colt won the Group Three Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot on his racecourse debut but ran disappointingly in his only other race as a two-year-old. As a three-year-old he finished second to El Gran Senor in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket Racecourse and then completed a rare hat-trick of wins by taking the St. James's Palace Stakes at Ascot, the July Cup at Newmarket and the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood.

Cochrane was born in Madras, the son of Basil Cochrane who himself was the sixth son of Scottish nobleman and politician Thomas Cochrane, 8th Earl of Dundonald. 1830 saw the publication of Cochranes' The Journal of a Tour Made by Senor Juan De Vega, the Spanish Minstrel of 1828-29 which recounted Cochrane's tour of Britain and Ireland disguised as a Spanish minstrel, 'exploiting somewhat belatedly the sympathy felt for Spanish refugees after the French invasion of 1823'. On his first race as a three-year-old, Sadler's Wells met El Gran Senor on the racecourse for the first and only time, when he finished second to his stable companion in the seven-furlong Gladness Stakes at the Curragh. Close Hatches is a dark bay or brown mare bred in Kentucky by Millsec Limited, a horse breeding company registered at Khalid Abdullah's Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket, Suffolk. She raced in the colours of Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farm organisation, as did both of her parents. She is from the first crop of foals sired by First Defence who won the Grade I Forego Stakes in 2008 and is the first foal of her dam Rising Tornado, who failed to win in three minor races in France. Rising Tornado's dam Silver Star was a full-sister to Xaar, the leading European two-year-old of 1997, and as a descendant of the broodmare Best In Show, was related to numerous major winners including El Gran Senor and Rags to Riches.

Rainbow Quest, who became one of the best stallions in England, won the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr1) at Longchamp in France and the Coronation Cup (Gr1) at Epsom in England. Despite doubts over his stamina, stemming from the amount of speed in the distaff side of his pedigree and the speed he had shown at Newmarket, El Gran Senor was an odds-on favourite for the Derby (Gr1) over 12 furlongs at Epsom.

She entered a high-level high school and her parents gave her the ultimatum that she couldn't take the exam to enter the Takarazuka music school if her school grades slipped, so she worked hard on her studies and took her lessons simultaneously She passed the Takarazuka exam in her second year of high school on her second try. Her stage name, "Nanami" takes one character from her real name ("Mi" from "海," "Sea"), combined with "Nana" ("七," "Seven") from the name of a character she liked from the anime "Tico of the Seven Seas." "Hiroki" (which can contain the character for "vast" in Japanese) comes from the vastness of the ocean. After graduating from the Takarazuka music school, she made her onstage debut in 2003 in Moon troupe’s Takarazuka Floral Diaries/ Senor Don Juan.

Vain reformed in 1993 with new drummer Danny Fury, formerly of The Lords of the New Church, to record their third album (and second release) Move On It, which was released in Japan through Polystar Records. The rise in popularity of Seattle's grunge movement meant the album did not achieve the same success as No Respect. By the time Vain began recording their fourth album, Nova, West and Fury had departed the band, with Nova going on to audition for Ozzy Osbourne and join Big Blue Hearts, while West released a solo EP entitled Taste the Sounds. With Davy Vain handling both vocal and guitar duties, as well as producing the album, and Mitchell on bass, Vain added drummer Louie Senor to the line-up to record Fade, which was released in 1995, through Polystar.

On his first appearance as a three-year-old Creag-An-Sgor contested the Greenham Stakes (a major trial race for the 2000 Guineas) over seven furlongs at Newbury Racecourse in April. Ridden by the veteran Joe Mercer he started at odds of 5/2 with his main opponent being Defecting Dancer, who had won the Windsor Castle Stakes and the Sirenia Stakes in 1983. After leading for most of the way he was overtaken by Defecting Dancer but rallied in the closing stages to regain the advantage and won by half a length. In an exceptionally strong renewal of the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket he was among the early leaders before fading to finish seventh of the nine runners behind El Gran Senor, Chief Singer, Lear Fan, Rainbow Quest, Keen and Bountiful.

During the 16th and the 17th centuries the image was known among the common people of the Cauca's Valley as The Lord of the waters, but the increasing fame of the miracles obtained by its devotion changed to The Lord of Miracles. Basilica del Senor de los Milagros de Guadalajara de Buga Among the first printed official accounts is the full story of the Miracle of the Guadalajara river written by Franciscan Friar Francisco G. Rodríguez in 1819, the same year Colombia became independent from Spain. There are records showing that General Simon Bolivar visited Buga among the places he traveled across in his independence campaign for the south west of the country after the battle of Boyacá in his route to Equator. This unique Christ, modeled from materials of the western Colombian Andes receives its name from the region of Buga.

The importance of the work may be gleaned from the fact that, six years after his death and with extended notes from his son, Casemiro, it was translated into three languages, namely, English, French and Italian. The English translation was made by John Kippax in London in 1751, and a second English translation by George Faulkner in Dublin in 1752. It was translated into French by Forbonnais in 1753, and into Italian in 1793.

In the spring of 1991, the two-year-old Dr Devious won the May Maiden Stakes at Newbury, then in June ran second in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. Ridden for the remainder of the year by Willie Carson, in July he won the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket and in August the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood Racecourse. The horse had been sold by Robert Sangster to Luciano Gaucci before the Vintage Stakes, but the agreement was that he would be leased back to Sangster for his next two races. Back at Newmarket, on 2 October he finished a head second to Young Senor in a crowded field in the Tiffany Highflyer Stakes then just over two weeks later (wearing the Gaucci colours for the first time) ran in the Group One seven furlong Dewhurst Stakes, Britain's most prestigious race for two-year-olds.

In March 1952, Real Madrid organized a friendly tournament in the Spanish capital at its newly constructed home ground; River Plate was invited to participate in Real Madrid's 50th-anniversary tournament. The tournament was called Bodas de Oro, but once Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu heard about the new powerhouse in South America, Millonarios cancelled the invitation to River Plate and invited the Colombians as the South American representative. The Colombians participated in the tournament and won it, after drawing 2–2 with Swedish champions IFK Norrköping and overcoming Los Blancos, who were managed by Uruguayan legend Hector Scarone, by a 4–2 margin with a brace from Saeta Rubia in the presence of President Santiago Bernabéu, who arrived to the stadium to observe Adolfo Pedernera. Instead, Bernabéu asked Millonarios about Di Stéfano and a deal was struck between him and Millonarios owner Alfonso Senor Quevedo.

Dan Senor, John Faso, The Conservative Party of New York State, the American Conservative Union, John LeBoutillier, and numerous other local elected officials. In the days leading up to the primary, Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh commented on the race calling Altschuler "a guy who was a Green Party pro-choice Republican in New Jersey before they shipped him out to Suffolk County to run." Altschuler faced incumbent Tim Bishop in the November 2, 2010 general election. On Election Day Bishop was reported to have a 3,400 vote lead but after the electronic voting machines were reread at the board of elections, Altschulter was reported with a 392-vote lead, with approximately 11,000 absentee ballots left to be counted. After most absentee ballots were tabulated, Bishop had a 263-vote lead, at which point Altschuler conceded defeat to Bishop and ended his campaign on December 8 – 36 days after the election.

In 1999 he also received the Ace Awards for Senor Bolero for "Album of the Year" recorded by José Feliciano and a concession of the dove through the production of the album by Christian artist Jaci Velasquez Llegar A Ti. This album featured the ballad "Solo Tú" which made the top 10 on Billboards Latin chart. That year, he received the ASCAP Award for "Songwriter of the Year". In 2000, Pérez produced the album by Luis Fonsi, Eterno, composing seven of its 13 songs, including the hit "Imagíname Sin Ti" and its English version (Imagine me without you).Later, Pérez would collaborate again with Fonsi in some songs from their two albums following: Amor secreto (between them, the single "Quisiera poder olvidarme de tí", winning of other award to the Pop/Balada Song. In 2008 Chris teamed up with long-time collaborator Kazuhiko Kato for a new glam-rock band, Vitamin Q, releasing one album 'Vitamin Q featuring ANZA'. Chris Mosdell opened the show for their debut live performance at Shibuya AX. In 2009 Mosdell travelled to Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca, Peru, to visit locations adjoined to his Fingerprints of the Gods installation soundtrack, and onward to Santiago, Chile to meet the German composer Uwe Schmidt (Atom™), who had covered several of Mosdell's songs on his Senor Coconut Yellow Fever! album. The meeting led to a collaboration on Atom™ and Masaki Sakamoto's album Alien Symphony (2010) with the lyricist penning the song 5.17 Minutes with Miss Eternity. In 2010 Mosdell began working with the photographer Yuriko Takagi on an adaption of the 10th-century Japanese poetry anthology Hyakunin Isshu (One Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets), producing a new "Shibuya version".

Led by American John A. Rowland (ca. 1797-1873) and British native William Workman (1799–1876), the expedition contained American, European, and New Mexican members who settled throughout California. Rowland traveled, in early 1842, to the capital at Monterey and petitioned Governor Juan Bautista Alvarado for the Rancho La Puente. Deliverance received a positive review from AllMusic writer Eduardo Rivadavia, who gave the album four stars out of five, and states, "With guitarist Pepper Keenan now at the helm as lead singer and principal songwriter, COC abandoned most of the punk influences of their crossover past and turned into a full-fledged Sabbath-inspired metal band with 1994's Deliverance." Rivadavia claims that the songs on Deliverance are "built on monolithic power chords which range from ferocious speed on 'Heaven's Not Overflowing' and 'Senor Limpio' to slower, groovier numbers such as "Broken Man" and leadoff single 'Albatross.' Second single 'Clean My Wounds' also struck gold at rock radio with its staccato riffing, and 'Seven Days' adds eerie guitar melodies to the mix." Deliverance was Corrosion of Conformity's first album to enter the Billboard 200 chart; it peaked at number 155, making it their fourth highest-charting album to date.

Lois is a reporter at a sleazoid newspaper, a paragon of yellow journalism that she is determined to turn back to its first incarnation as The New York Enforcer, a better paper. The not-so-good Mayor Franklyn adopts Lois as his personal assistant when she bursts into his office one day and strongly advises him to cut the pressure to shut down porn shops or he will lose the vote of New York's youth. She hires photographer Barry Denver to work in the mayor's office, planning to use his skills for her tabloid paper—but then a quirky menage à trois arises between the mayor, the photographer, and Lois. After some undercover sleuthing in Long Island—and help from a host of unsavory characters like Senor Wopperico and Troppogrosso—Lois connects the mayor to various robberies that have occurred in the city and thinks of a way to return the New York Enforcer to its heyday and handle the mayor at the same time.

After a break of over two months Cacoethes returned in the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes at Ascot in September in which he ran second to Ile de Nisky, beaten half a length when conceding five pounds to the winner. In October Cacoethes was sent to the United States to contest the Grade 1 Turf Classic over one and a half miles at Belmont Park and tarted 5/2 second favourite behind the Canadian champion With Approval in a six- runner field which also included El Senor (Sword Dancer Stakes), Shy Tom (third in the Travers Stakes), Alwuhush (Premio Presidente della Repubblica) and Fast 'n' Gold (Rutgers Handicap). Cacoethes went to the front from the start and set a steady pace before accelerating clear approaching the final turn. He kept on well in the straight to win by one and a half lengths and a nose from Alwuhush and With Approval in a time of 2:25.0, only 0.2 seconds outside the track record set by Secretariat in 1973.

Porter was born in 1942 and raised in Ashfield, New South Wales, a suburb of Sydney. He reluctantly took steel guitar lessons from the age of eight – he wanted to play football instead. Sydney TV show Bandstand featured hits from the UK and US played by Australian artists. As Rob E.G., Porter made his TV debut in 1959 performing the lap steel guitar instrumental "Sleep Walk" (originally by Santo & Johnny); he was soon signed to Rex Records and became a Bandstand regular. His first single, "Your Cheatin' Heart", a cover of the Hank Williams hit, appeared in February 1960. In 1961, Porter received severe spinal injuries in a car accident, he adapted his playing style and continued to record. Top ten hits in Sydney include, instrumentals "Si Senor (I Theenk)" which peaked at No. 1 in May 1962, "Jezabel" at No. 2 in May 1963, and "55 Days at Peking" at No. 1 in July; and the vocal single "When You're Not Near" at No. 7 in August 1964. Although not as popular in Melbourne, these four singles also peaked into the top ten.

In their attempt to explain Israel's success in this area, Senor and Singer discard "the argument from ethnic or religious exceptionalism, dismissing 'unitary Jewishness' or even individual talent as major reasons for Israel's high-tech success" and analyze two major factors that, in the authors' opinion, contribute most to Israel's economic growth.
