A typical cycle of secundo-primo episodes and ensuing event typically lasts around 3 Ma. The duration of events is so long compared to their onset because the positive feedbacks must be overwhelmed. Carbon content in the ocean-atmosphere system is affected by changes in weathering rates, which in turn is dominantly controlled by rainfall. Because this is inversely related to temperature in Silurian times, carbon is gradually drawn down during warm (high ) S-episodes, while the reverse is true during P-episodes.

Vásquez composed his imposing Agenda defunctorum in 1556 in Sevilla. For the text Vásquez has chosen parts out of the Officium Defunctorum of the Seville Cathedral. When Peter was elected prior of San Frediano monastery in 1541 he set up a college based on humanist principles of education with Lazise employed as a teacher of Latin. Among his colleagues there were Celso Martinengo, a professor of Greek and Emanuele Tremellio, a Jewish convert to Christianity who taught Hebrew. In Lucca, Lazise also met humanist Celio Secundo Curio. Lazise also worked as a private tutor, but he continued his preaching efforts and collaborated with Francesco Robortello, a professor at the University of Lucca, in the preparation of a commentary on the Poetics of Aristotle.

In addition, Markus Schulz includes Moonbeam's remix of Lens' "Beyond The Shadows" in his compilation Amsterdam'08, and Incentive Company and Ministry of Sound signed a contract to produce a remix in the UK and Ireland. In 2008 many of Moonbeam's original tracks and remixes found their way into various collections, such as Mr Sam's "Opus Secundo", Trance Mission, Trance Energy, Ibiza Trance House 2008, and others. The basilica was built by Pope Symmachus (498–514), on the place where the body of the young martyr Saint Pancras of Rome, or Pancratius, had been buried, Via Aurelia miliario secundo ('on the Via Aurelia at the second milestone'). Leontina Judith Albina Espinoza (1925 – August 7, 1998) was a woman from Colina, Chile, who was claimed to be the world's most prolific mother. She entered the Guinness Book of Records in 1983, which reported that she had given birth to 58 children. According to her husband Gerardo Secundo Albina, the couple were married in 1946 in Argentina, and had five sets of triplets – all boys – before emigrating to Chile. By the late 1980s "only" 40 of the children – 24 boys and 16 girls – were said to be still alive, and the Associated Press reported that 18 of them were still living with the couple in their cramped two-room shack on the outskirts of Santiago.

In 1513 he entered the congregation of the Order of the Augustinian Canons of San Salvatore of Bologna, taking up residence in the monastery of San Secundo, one of the order's houses in Gubbio. In 1524 he went to the mother cloister in Bologna, from where he briefly attended courses in Hebrew and rhetoric at the University of Bologna. In 1525 he was sent by his congregation to the Monastery of Sant' Antonio di Castello in Venice, where, due to his expertise in biblical languages and humanist textual criticism, he was placed in charge of the monastery's library, donated to the canons by Cardinal Domenico Grimani. Many of the collection's biblical, Hebrew, and philosophical works had once been owned by Pico della Mirandola.

Shortly before 882, he built a castle in Pancorbo from where he confronted a large Arab army trying to annex the valley of the Ebro in two different military campaigns in 882 and 883. He also created a defensive line along the river Arlanzón, and in 884 founded an outpost that would develop into the city of Burgos. It also appears he restored the episcopal see of Oca (ancient Auca). His date and place of death are not agreed upon by the chronicles, though 885 is most probable as recorded in the Chronica Naierensis which states that Didacus comes...et interfectus est in Cornuta era DCCCCXXIII, secundo kalendas febroarii, that is, that he was killed in Cornudilla on 31 January, and most likely, in a battle against the Muslim troops faithful to the Banu Qasi.

On Kol Nidre in London, the announcement of the order of who is to carry the Sefarim forms part of a Portuguese declaration beginning "a ordem dos Sefarim de esta noite". These Portuguese phrases are generally pronounced phonetically according to the spelling as interpreted by a Spanish speaker, rather than as a Portuguese speaker would, though a recording of the correct Portuguese pronunciation was made for the use of the Amsterdam community.

The second volume in this series contained his opinion on the pancreatic duct, which had just been discovered in 1642 in Padua by Johann Georg Wirsung. In the fourth volume, Liceti discussed the circulation of blood. The seventh and eighth volume deals primarily with a theological controversy Liceti engaged in with Matija Ferkić (Matteo Ferchio).
