The premise is that Super Gran has to save people whilst looking out for Scunner Campbell. This game was released on the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, C16, C64 and Spectrum.

It was reported of Spilsbury: "after taking some little liberties with the Tipton in the opening rounds, for which he occasionally caught a fearful right-handed visitation, and was rallied down, Spilsbury kept so completely a la distance as to deprive the contest of any interest, and finally, at the end of the 19th round, "cut it," leaving "The Slasher" in possession of the field and the stakes". It was after this fight that Perry's nickname "The Tipton Slasher" became established. Perry features on the pub sign of the Fountain Inn, Tipton. The pub was described as the Slasher's headquarters at the time of the Scunner fight On 22 November 1837, Perry took on Jem Scunner from Gornal, the fight being staged at a site near Gornal and at Wolverhampton for £25 per side.

Pentecost and Chuck sacrifice themselves as they detonate the bomb, killing Scunner and mortally wounding Slattern. Gipsy Danger finishes off Slattern with a blast from its nuclear vortex and uses its corpse to go through the Breach, where Raleigh sets Gipsys reactor to detonate. They eject from Gipsy and go back through the Breach. The reactor explodes, closing the Breach.

Super Gran is a fictional series about a grandmother with super powers. Initially a series of books written by Forrest Wilson, a children's television show was adapted by Jenny McDade and produced by Tyne Tees Television for Children's ITV. The title character was played by Gudrun Ure, with Iain Cuthbertson as her nemesis, The Scunner Campbell. It originally ran from 1985 to 1987.

Pentecost, who is dying from radiation sickness, replaces the injured Herc Hansen to pilot Striker Eureka with Herc's son Chuck. Two Category-4, Scunner and Raiju, and one Category-5, Slattern, emerge from the Breach to defend it. Gipsy Danger kills Raiju, but Striker Eureka is immobilized by Slattern. Gipsy Danger attempts to help Striker Eureka but Pentecost warns the crippled Jaeger to stay away, telling them to use Gipsy Dangers nuclear reactor to destroy the Breach.

The R-1 rocket (NATO reporting name SS-1 Scunner, Soviet code name SA11, GRAU index 8A11) was a tactical ballistic missile manufactured in the Soviet Union based on the German V-2 rocket. Even though it was a copy, it was manufactured using Soviet industrial plants and gave the Soviets valuable experience which later enabled the USSR to construct its own much more capable rockets. The R-1 missile system entered into service in the Soviet Army on 28 November 1950.

A third series was planned to begin filming in early 1988 but the programme was abandoned by Tyne Tees Television in favour of increased spending on daytime gameshows such as 'Chain Letters' (which was very popular in the late 1980s). Several episodes had been plotted and even story-boarded prior to the cancellation and included working titles "Supergran and the Underwater Terror" (Supergran would foil Scunner Campbell's plot to destroy Chistleton using a gigantic tidal wave), "Supergran and the Miniscule Marionette" (Inventor Black mistakenly miniaturizes a precious marionette heirloom and Supergran must find a way to resize it before an important dignitary arrives to view it) and "Supergran and the Rhyming Ruin" (the plot is unknown but would have involved filming in Tynemouth's famous ruined Priory). The cancellation of the TV series did not dampen hopes of a motion picture version – hopes which had been alive since midway through the popular Series One. While no firm production plans ever emerged due to the cancellation, one early plot would have involved Supergran travelling to Spain to foil an attempt by Scunner Campbell to control the 'world trade market'.

An elderly grandmother, Granny Smith (Gudrun Ure), acquires superpowers when she is accidentally hit by a magic ray created by Inventor Black (Bill Shine). Under the guise of 'Super Gran', she protects the residents of the fictional town of Chiselton from villains such as Roderick Scunner Campbell (Iain Cuthbertson) and his gang, The Muscles (Alan Snell and Brian Lewis) and Tub (Lee Marshall, Jason Carrieliesseries 1 and 2 respectively). Super Gran was usually accompanied by her grandson, Willard (Iam Towell, Michael Graham) and Inventor Black's assistant Edison (Holly English, Samantha Duffy). Episodes were narrated by Bill McAllister.

(2007) The first use of the term Scud was in the NATO name SS-1b Scud-A, applied to the R-11 Zemlya ballistic missile. The earlier R-1 missile had carried the NATO name SS-1 Scunner, but was of a very different design, almost directly a copy of the German V-2 rocket. The R-11 used technology gained from the V-2 as well, but was a new design, smaller and differently shaped than the V-2 and R-1 weapons.
