Beginning in 2011, H. Charmaine Johnson was appointed as Oklahoma Centennial High School's principal. At the beginning of the Spring 2014 term, Michelle Pontikos replaced Johnson as the principal at OCHS. Tami Sanders became the principal at Centennial beginning in the 2015-2016 school term. As part of the "Pathway to Greatness" program, OCHS was selected as one of the schools that was to close down permanently.

Americus Sumter County High - South Campus received a name change to Americus Sumter High School. The school system reconfigured once again for the 2016-17 school term, where location changes were made for all Pre-K, Kindergarten, second, and fourth grade students. The Australian Boys Choir consists of different levels for boys in training. Using Kodály methodology and starting at around the age of 7 or 8, boys begin training as probationers usually for one school term. Emphasis is on enjoyment and through musical games boys develop basic understanding of musical methods and singing. The next stage is 'tyros', where boys spend 9 to 12 months, depending on their abilities, working on aural development and music reading skills as well as vocal development.

By 1959, a second lawsuit was working its way through the federal court system in Virginia, and this suit seemed likely to force the county's schools to integrate in time for the 1959-1960 school term. On June 3, 1959, Prince Edward County officials voted to defund and close their public school system.

Richard Scott (born 14 December 1968, Middlesbrough, England) is a South African artist, residing in Cape Town and well known for the phrase Naive meets Pop art to describe his unique take on Art. He is very well known for his art both in South Africa and internationally. Richard matriculated in 1986 from Norkem Part High School in Kempton Park, Gauteng. Although he attended art classes throughout his high school term, he did not pursue, what would become his profession, until 13 years passed.

In the summer of 2008 work began on the refurbishment of Jubilee Park. Time had taken its toll on the children's play area, opened in June 1977 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee, and it was in desperate need of a makeover. Local contractors came together to provide a modern, colourful and safe environment for the next generation of children to play in. The new park was finally completed and opened in early September 2008, coinciding with the beginning of the new school term.

Vince Sanders (aka Vinson J. Sanders) was born in 1935 on a small farm in Waldo, Florida, a sprawling railroad community about 50 miles south of Jacksonville. His mother and his father divorced when Vince was six months old, thereby relegating much of his formative years to the tutelage of his grandparents. After being forced to adjust to several schools, Vince wound up at the historic Jones High School in Orlando in 1948. The AUC board of trustees undertook negotiations with Washington Adventist University with the aim of establishing a branch campus of WAU on AUC's former campus. However. AUC President Norman Wendth announced in July that the plan had not gained approval from the Massachusetts Department of Education in time for the Fall 2011 school term. All 179 faculty and staff at AUC were laid off on July 31, 2011. Mississippi’s Constitution of 1868, drafted by a biracial convention, was the first legislation to provide for free public education for all children. The constitution established a “uniform system of free public schools, by taxation or otherwise, for all children between the ages of five and twenty-one years.” Legislation was passed in 1870 that created school districts under the supervision of an elected State Superintendent of Education and appointed country superintendents, as well. In 1932 Siam, a ravenous female ghost named Pop is ravaging the village of Sam Kotr, Roi Et, killing all the men. Chichester Cathedral Choir consists of eighteen choristers and four probationers, all of whom are educated at the Prebendal School (which sits adjacent to the Cathedral precinct and is the Cathedral Choir School), and six lay vicars, who are professional musicians. During school term the cathedral choir sing at eight services each week. As well as singing, choristers learn the piano and an orchestral instrument, spending at least eighteen hours a week on musical performance. Netta is achieving success as she pursues her education, attending college in a city nearby, which offers Netta hope for a promising career upon completion. Resented by Mama Rosie's daughters Norma Faye and Ruth Ann, Netta is met with hatred, threats and potential violence upon her arrival to visit Mama Rosie from college. Nevertheless, despite the confrontational confusion, Netta has plans for Billie Jean to finish high school and to apply for college at the end of the school term.

The musical foundation of Chichester Cathedral consists of the organist and master of the choristers, the assistant organist and the organ scholar; together with six singing men (called lay vicars), eighteen choristers, six probationers – and including a head chorister and a senior chorister (deputy head) who both wear a notable medallion on a red ribbon according to their office held. The choristers and probationers are all boarders at the Prebendal School, the cathedral's choir school. The lay vicars are professional singers who all have everyday jobs. During school term, the cathedral has eight sung services a week.

Rutenkinder (birch children) lead the historical parade on Ruten Monday Rutenfest (literally birch whip festival) is an annual town festival in Ravensburg, Upper Swabia, Germany. At the end of the school term (usually in July), local pupils and adult citizens take part in many Rutenfest events including a parade watched by tens of thousands of spectators. Rutenfest is generally considered the high spot of Ravensburg's city life. Alumni of local schools flock back to their hometown, to meet family and friends at the events officially organized by the Rutenfest Commission, and at hundreds of private parties.

Ma.Po.Si. was born on 26 June 1906 of humble parentage in Salvankuppam in Thousand Lights of Madras City, to God –fearing Parents, Ponnuswamy and Sivagami, belonging to the Gramani Community, a counterpart of the Nadars of the Southern Districts. For long, Sivagnanam was known as Sivagnanam Gramani, which denominational suffix he shed later. Prior to the Holiday break, team manager R. S. Woodward asked the university's permission for the ice hockey team to travel to Pittsburgh for a 4-game set against local athletic clubs. He did so because the ice hockey club was $75 in debt and the team was being offered $400 for the cost of expenses for the trip. Because the trip would take place during the school term, and because Columbia University policy prohibited any person or team with an outstanding debt from taking place in a public contest, permission for the trip was denied. In partnership with the Northern Territory Government, the Australian Government will expand the current School Enrolment and Attendance Measure, or SEAM, so that it aligns with the Northern Territory Government's strategy of Every Child Every Day. Both measures intend to promote parental responsibility in terms of children attendance and enrolment. Hydro Corridor Busway under construction in August 2009 The busway was proposed in 2004 as a series of busways and bus lanes connecting Downsview Station (now ) to York University, to increase speed and reliability on route 196 York University Rocket. The primary components of the work were a busway within York University, a busway within the Finch Hydro Corridor, and painted bus lanes on Dufferin Street / Allen Road. Groundbreaking occurred on July 25, 2008, with completion planned for the fourth-quarter 2009 school term. During construction, it was discovered that a gas pipeline was closer to the surface than had been thought, so the busway in the hydro corridor had to be redesigned to accommodate it.

Mini CITV, which was launched on 2 November 2009, was the slot that housed CITV's pre-school programming. Between 2009 and 2012, Mini CITV was shown on weekdays in school term time between 8:45 am to 3 pm, and on weekends and school holidays between 6 am to 7:25 am. ITV broadcast Mini CITV on weekend mornings, there was also a block called The Fluffy Club between 2008 and 2010 on weekend mornings that housed preschool programmes and featured a puppet baby chick in between programmes. Florida Agricultural College in Lake City announced its desire to merge with Florida University for the 1887 school term, but the legislature did not act on the idea. The Tallahassee-based school adopted the name "Florida State University" from 1891 until 1901, when it became Florida State College. In 1903, the Florida Legislature transferred the "University of Florida" designation to Florida Agricultural College in Lake City in recognition of the school's desire to expand its curriculum beyond its original focus on agriculture and engineering. The school was built on a greenfield site and opened in 1976 with approximately 10 students. Several explanations of the name have been brought forward over the years. Most likely, birch whips used for beating the pupils were a symbol of mastering Latin grammar, and pupils were solemnly awarded with such a birch at the end of each school term. Those birches were cut in the woods around town in some sort of a school outing before the festival.

In normal Japan, Kokone is finishing up her school term, considering where to go to college, and reconnecting with old friend Morio who has returned from Tokyo from his first year in college. From the 1936 season, he appeared in Somerset matches, almost always those in the second half of the season when the school term had ended and, with rare exceptions, those played at home. In these games, he played as an all-rounder, his batting having improved significantly since his Cambridge days. SPIC MACAY, a national society for the promotion of Indian classical music and culture amongst youth, organizes a SPIC MACAY week every school term. Past performers include Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Sonal Mansingh, Sitara Devi, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Hari Prasad Chaurasia, and Birju Maharaj.

In 2004, Sumter County High School and Americus High School merged, becoming Americus-Sumter County High School. At this time, the South Campus housed grades 10-12 while the North Campus (formerly Sumter County High School) served as the 9th Grade Academy, the Performance Learning Center, and the alternative school. At the time of the merger, Juanita Wilson was the principal of the South Campus. She retired in 2005 and was replaced by Tony Overstreet for the 2005–2006 school term. Dr. Larry Moore served as principal from 2006-2008 before being replaced by Ronald Gadson for 2008-2009. Gadson resigned following the 2009-2010 term and was replaced by Walter Knighton, who had served as assistant principal at the South Campus since 2008.

A few years later a copy of Hutchings' melody resurfaced in an old school newsletter from the 1940s and Usher was delighted to find that he had only mis-remembered one note and a slightly spread chord. During his time as a teacher, Usher encouraged the singing of the school song at numerous school events and nurtured its popularity among students. The School Song has since been printed and published in several documents. The song is sung at several events every academic year, most notably at the end of the final assembly of each school term, during which the entire school (except the new students whom this is intended to startle) shouts the last word (“memory”) at the top of their voice.

Dr. Mafico was born on January 28, 1943, at Gwenzi, in the Chipinge District, a remote part of Zimbabwe (formerly Southern Rhodesia), during the British colonial era. He was the fifth-born child in a family of thirteen children who lived on the border between Mozambique and Southern Rhodesia. He attended Gwenzi Primary School, a satellite of Mount Selinda Mission, that was established by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions (now United Church of Christ Board for World Ministries) in 1893. In 1955 he enrolled at and walked the twenty-five miles between Chikore Secondary School and his family's modest home in Mount Selinda at the beginning and end of every school term, carrying his wooden suitcase on his head through rivers and over mountains.

Cashmere High School operates a regular timetable with five 55-minute teaching periods per day, except on Wednesdays where teaching periods are only 50 minutes each. In Year 9, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education and Health are compulsory and are studied for the whole year, while students rotate through four Technology subjects: Design Technologies, Graphic Communication, Materials and Electronics and Control, and Food Technology, studying one of them per school term. During this work experience, with his school term ending, Mitsuda saw an advertisement for a sound producer at Square in a copy of Famitsu magazine at a game company he was visiting. With no clear plans as to what he wanted to do after school, he applied for the position. Mitsuda sent a demo which won him an interview at the game studio. Despite the self-described "disastrous" interview with composer Nobuo Uematsu and sound programmer Minoru Akao, in which he claimed to only want the job as a "stepping stone" in his career and admitted that he had never played many of Square's biggest games, such as the Final Fantasy series, Mitsuda was offered a position on the company's sound team in April 1992.

Oregon State University Marching Band, ("OSUMB"), is the marching band of Oregon State University, known as the "Spirit and Sound of OSU." The band was established in 1891. It is one of the oldest bands in the Pac-12 and the primary athletic band at Oregon State. In addition to the Oregon State University Marching Band, other athletic bands include Basketball Band, Rhythm & Beavs, Rhythm & Beavs: Travel Band, the Away Game Pep Band (for select away games), Alumni Band (the band that covers any games occurring prior to the start of the school term), Gymnastics Band (the ensemble that performs at home gymnastic meets; this ensemble also include alumni members), and Bar Band (a small ensemble that tours local bars on the day before a home football game).

Rev. Dr. S. Ade Babalola is the son of Emmanuel Babalola Adekeye and Marian Tinuoye Babalola-Adekeye. As the Obaala of Oke-Ila Orangun, Osun State, Nigeria until his death, his father Babalola Adekeye reigned as the Head of the Arefa (the kingdom’s most senior High-Chiefs of king-maker cadre) and he was co-founder of the First Baptist Church of Oke-Ila. The young Adeniyi Babalola started school in Oke-Ila but to complete Primary education to Standard 6, he had to trek the 12 miles (almost 20 km) to resume each school term in Iresi across hills and bridgeless rivers. On one of his trips, he had a close call to drowning while crossing through a flooded river, but was rescued by a farmer providentially passing nearby.

In 2011, 116.5 million journeys were made on the TAN network, where a journey is defined as a single boarding on a single vehicle. In order for a student to be eligible for nomination and selection, a student must meet these requirements: # Be in the 11th grade at a Kentucky public or private school at the time of selection and intend to return to a Kentucky school district for the next school term (Students skipping their senior year to enter college are not eligible) # Be a current resident of Kentucky # Have taken the ACT, PSAT, or SAT in the 9th, 10th or 11th grades. To apply, students must fill out an application that is either provided by their school or located online. Before being accepted into the statewide program, students first participate in their school and/or district competition. If selected to represent their district, students will be eligible for the statewide selection process.

With the pending demise of Ward-Belmont's high school, a group of concerned citizens organized to ensure that a college- preparatory school for girls would continue in Nashville. This group purchased a 26-acre tract of land known as the P.M. Estes estate in southwest Nashville at the corner of Estes Road and Hobbs Road. One of the building committee members, Mary Elizabeth Cayce, suggested the name of the new school be "Harpeth Hall", because of the proximity to the Harpeth River and that the words sounded "euphonius" In the fall of 1951, the Ward-Belmont college- preparatory division reopened on a new campus and with a new name—the Harpeth Hall School. Harpeth Hall began the new school term with 161 students in grades 9 through 12, almost all of whom had transferred from Ward-Belmont.

The 18th century gave rise to the Enlightenment, a movement that in some quarters was opposed to the church-run universities of which Ingolstadt was a prime example. The Jesuits gradually left the university as it sought to change with the times, until the university finally had become so secular that the greatest influence in Ingolstadt was Adam Weishaupt, founder of the secret society of the Illuminati. On November 25, 1799, the elector Maximilian IV announced that the university's depleted finances had become too great a weight for him to bear: the university would be moved to Landshut as a result. The university finished that year's school term, and left Ingolstadt in May 1800, bringing to a quiet end the school that had, at its peak, been one of the most influential and powerful institutes of higher learning in Europe.

In 1942 Sparks defeated James E. Folsom and Chris Sherlock to win the governor's seat. During his administration, Sparks had to contend with the effects of a wartime economy and the dismantling of war-geared programs at the conclusion of World War II. The massive growth of industry in Alabama during the war resulted in numerous labor problems, making it necessary to re- establish the state Labor Department. Sparks achieved noteworthy gains for education by doubling state appropriations and lengthening the seven-month school term to eight months; the system was segregated and black education was typically underfunded by the state legislature, as were other black facilities. Under his administration the University of Alabama School of Medicine (now The University of Alabama at Birmingham) was established in Birmingham, which had become a major industrial city; and a school of forestry was opened at Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University).

Employment of protected persons at the surface of mines and underground quarries, and in salt works and ore-dressing works, and of boys underground comes under the factory regulations. In school term time the daily limit of employment for children is three hours, in holiday time three hours.

McFadden Alexander Newell The General Assembly of Maryland established what would eventually become Towson University in 1865, with the allocation of funds directed toward Maryland's first teacher-training school, or then called "normal school" (term used from a new French tradition). On January 15, 1866, this institution, known then as the "Maryland State Normal School" (M.S.N.S.), officially opened its doors as part of the substantial modern educational reforms prescribed by the Unionist/Radical Republican Party-dominated Maryland Constitution of 1864 of the Civil War-era state government, which provided for a new state superintendent of public instruction and a Board of Education to be appointed to advise and supervise the counties, in addition to the already progressive public educational system previously established in 1829 in Baltimore City. Located then at Red Man's Hall on North Paca Street in Baltimore, the new teachers' school originally enrolled eleven students and fostered three faculty members.

Founded as the Maclay School of Theology in San Fernando, California, in 1885, the Methodist seminary was founded by Charles Maclay, founder of the town of San Fernando, former Methodist minister and State Senator. The school became affiliated with the University of Southern California from 1900 to 1957, staying on the USC campus until it moved to its present location in Claremont. The school is one of thirteen seminaries affiliated with the United Methodist Church, though usually more than forty different denominations are represented in the student body in any given school term. In a 2008 meeting, the Board of Trustees set in motion the Claremont University Project by approving the following mission statement: As an ecumenical and inter-religious institution, Claremont School of Theology seeks to instill students with the ethical integrity, religious intelligence, and intercultural understanding necessary to become effective in thought and action as leaders in the increasingly diverse, multireligious world of the 21st century.

As of 2018, the school follows the National Curriculum in years Seven to Eleven and offers a range of GCSEs (national exams taken by students aged 14–16) and A Levels (national exams taken by pupils aged 16–18). The school has no affiliation with a particular religious denomination, but religious education is given throughout the school, and pupils may opt to take the subject as part of their GCSE course. Students participate in a number of educational visits and excursions as they progress through the school, with those in years Ten and Eleven being offered tailored careers advice to participate in a work experience program outside of the designated school term. For Key Stage 3 (ages 11–14), almost all pupils study the school's central curriculum, comprising: art, character resilience and well-being, design and technology, drama, English, French (with German as a supplementary option), geography, history, information and communications technology (ICT), mathematics, music, PE, religion and philosophy, as well as science.

During the following two years, the territorial legislature chartered the town company, organized the surrounding area as Saline County, and named Salina the county seat. The westernmost town on the Smoky Hill Trail, Salina established itself as a trading post for westbound immigrants, prospectors bound for Pikes Peak, and area American Indian tribes. The town's growth halted with the outbreak of the American Civil War when much of the male population left to join the U.S. Army. In 1862, local residents fended off American Indian raiders only to fall victim to a second assault by bushwhackers later that year. In May and June 1864, the Salina Stockade was built to protect the town against further Indian raids. The building inside the stockade was remodeled and in September 1864 was opened as Salina's first public school. The school term ran until March 1865. The use of the building probably continued until at least June 1865.

Chased by helicopter and kennel men through the rocks and hills of Colorado, Lassie manages to elude them and out- stare a cougar before she joins up with new friends – Gus (Mickey Rooney), a down-at-heel wrestling manager and Apollo (Mike Mazurki), a kindly mountain of a man and Gus's so-called star. Soon after the truck takes off, a hungry and frightened Chris leaves the vehicle, buys food in a restaurant from a sympathetic waitress (Alice Faye), then goes out to look for another truck, and finally dives into the back of a cattle truck.

At the age of 18, Arthur Douglas enrolled in the first school term and is listed on the school registry as a day student, number # 68. She is having an affair with Frank (Matthew Modine), an eager, young American science teacher who is highly popular with his pupils, much more lenient with class-room rules yet is able to connect with the pupils. In his final class, Andrew, while reading from a Greek play, finally shows some genuine passion about the subject, giving a glimpse at the teacher he could have been. Andrew's nervous new replacement Tom (Julian Sands) expresses his awe at the ironclad control that the former exerts over his classes, but Andrew advises his young colleague not to follow his example. As his retirement at the end of the school term draws near, Andrew is approached by a quiet and sensitive pupil named Taplow who has detected the unhappiness and loneliness of his teacher and makes an attempt to reach out to him, saying that Andrew's Latin teachings have inspired him. Taplow gives Andrew a gift – a rare copy of an early edition of the 'Browning Version' – the 1877 translation by Robert Browning of Aeschylus’ ancient play Agamemnon.

As described in section 40 and Schedule 3 of the Falekaupule Act (1997) the general functions of a Falekaupule includes local government functions related to agriculture, livestock and fisheries; building and town or village planning; education; forestry and trees; land; relief of famine and drought; markets; public health; public order, peace and safety; communications and public utilities; trade and industry; and other miscellaneous functions. The educational function of the Falekaupule includes responsibility to build, equip, maintain or manage any kindergarten primary school and primary school in the Falekaupule area; to supervise the compulsory education of children or specified categories of children between the ages of 5 and 15 years in accordance with the Education Act; and to grant and maintain scholarships or bursaries to persons resident in the Falekaupule area to attend any school or other educational institution in Tuvalu or elsewhere. The government secondary school in Tuvalu is Motufoua Secondary School, which is located on Vaitupu. Students board at the school during the school term, returning to their home islands each school vacation.

La Porte Independent School District was formed in 1916 and a new three-story red-brick building was constructed near Broadway and "C" streets which would house the bused-in additional students from Lomax and Morgan's Point. In 1917, the student body selected orange and white as the school colors, the bulldog as the school mascot and published a one-time-only yearbook Etropal, which is La Porte spelled backwards. During the years of the depression, 1918-1924 that followed in the wake of World War I many citizens were unable to pay their taxes, and as a result, the school term lasted only six months. In 1921, Mr. C. E. Wade was appointed principal, and he organized the first football team, orchestra, choral club and "mothers' club" during his first year. In 1935, the second yearbook, The LPHS Daze, had a one-time publication by Lynnwood Anderson, editor-in-chief; there was not another yearbook published until 1946 and it was named The Reflector as it stands to date. In 1940, La Porte Elementary was built to accommodate students in grades one through six.
