The band was formed in 2006 by original members Joe James, Jono Yates, Nic Montgomery, Billy Evanson and Eddie Hawx. The band was initially named "Rig Up Explosive", but the name was changed to Blitz Kids in 2009. The name meaning was explained to be inspired by Joe's grandfather who was in a gang who named themselves 'Blitz Kids' during the events of World War II. The band released two EPs on LAB Records, Scavengers and Decisions, prior to their debut album Vagrants and Vagabonds. Evanson and Hawx left the band because of personal issues in 2012.
Retrieving a tool using wireline is not necessarily faster than pulling the tool out of the hole. For example, if the tool fails at while drilling with a triple rig (able to trip 3 joints of pipe, or about feet, at a time), then it would generally be faster to pull the tool out of the hole than it would be to rig up wireline and retrieve the tool, especially if the wireline unit must be transported to the rig. Wireline retrievals also introduce additional risk. If the tool becomes detached from the wireline, then it will fall back down the drillstring.
Two pranksters, finding out that a couple is about to apply for a marriage license at the town mayor's office, sneak into the office to pull a practical joke. First they rig up the furniture with string; then they hide in the room, inside some big boxes they put in place of the mayor's desk. When the bridal party arrives for the license, the pranksters go to work, making the chairs and "desk" move of their own accord, foiling the bride's and groom's attempts to sit and the mayor's attempts to write. Finally, the pranksters appear, disguised under white sheets as ghosts.
News and information broadcasts were provided by Navy and Marine Corps journalists from the studios of The American Forces Caribbean Network (AFCN). Families could also tune into the on-base AFRTS radio and television station's family-oriented shows, or rig up an antenna for signals from St. Thomas or San Juan. At one time, the AFCN operated repeater transmitters broadcasting radio and TV to San Juan, and Ramey Air Force Base, which was located on the west coast of Puerto Rico. At the El Coqui Theater, in the Bundy area of the base, movie goers watched films as swifts, a small batlike bird, flitted across the screen.
Since 1991, Metro Transit buses have been allowed to use “bus-only shoulders,” road shoulders to bypass traffic jams. Currently, buses are allowed to travel no more than or faster than the congested traffic in the general purpose lanes. Bus drivers must be very attentive when taking the bus onto the shoulder, since that part of the road is only about one foot wider than the buses in many cases. To help with this issue, researchers at the University of Minnesota helped rig up a bus with a lane-keep system, along with a heads-up display connected to a radar system to alert the driver of any obstacles.
During the April leg of the tour, several dates in the South were canceled following the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968. Ed King said that the band all acquired handguns after King's death for the remaining shows in the South, and that he carried his in his waistband onstage. In their early days of touring, the band members would often sit on "magic carpets" as their roadies carried them to the stage. Drummer Seol would rig up wrist gas jets to give the illusion that he was playing the bongos and vibes with his hands on fire, until the gimmick became too dangerous.
Later sailors' recollections, however, attested that the song continued to be used as a shanty, but for other purposes. Richard Maitland, an American sailor of the 1870s, sang it for song collector Alan Lomax in 1939, when he explained, > Now this is a song that's usually sang when men are walking away with the > slack of a rope, generally when the iron ships are scrubbing their bottom. > After an iron ship has been twelve months at sea, there's a quite a lot of > barnacles and grass grows onto her bottom. In the context of oil wells, pumping is a routine operation involving injecting fluids into the well. Pumping may either be done by rigging up to the kill wing valve on the Xmas tree or, if an intervention rig up is present pumping into the riser through a T-piece (a small section of riser with a connection on the side). Pumping is most routinely done to protect the well against scale and hydrates through the pumping of scale inhibitors and methanol. Pumping of kill weight brine may be done for the purposes of well kills and more exotic chemicals may be pumped from surface for cleaning the lower completion or stimulating the reservoir (though these types are jobs are more frequently done with coiled tubing for extra precision).
There's Tully, a rough-around-the- edges townperson; Brendan and Molly, a couple with a baby on the way; Bruce, the town's remaining police officer; and Charlie and Cody, kids who also happen to be brother and sister. At the police station, Todd and Kate learn that mechanical devices that had not been in the town when the attack started still function properly. In the last daring effort to escape Woodson, Todd, Brendan, and Bruce venture back out into the streets to locate Todd's laptop computer, which he had carried with him and left at the Pack 'N Go, the town convenience store. Once they find it and return to the police station, they are able to rig up the computer to fiber optics cables and the internet and send for help from nearby police stations.
Biollante's first form was performed by Masao Takegami, who sat within the model's trunk area on a platform just above water level. While the creature's head movements were simple to operate, its vines were controlled by an intricate array of overhead wires which proved difficult for Godzilla performer Kenpachiro Satsuma to react to during combat scenes as they offered no tension, thus warranting Satsuma to feign receiving blows from them, despite not being able to perceive them.
