Resits are possible. The coder is able to retake individual papers but must pass within the next 3 examinations or they will have to retake both papers again.

Shrewsbury Sixth Form College is a post-secondary co-educational selective sixth-form college located in Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire, England. The college currently has an enrolment of approximately 1,650 students, generally ranging between the ages of 16 to 19. The curriculum consists of AS, A levels and a small range of BTECs. GCSE English Language and Maths can only be taken alongside an A level programme as resits.

The Sixth Form offers a wide variety of subjects at National Qualifications Framework (NQF) levels 1–3, as well as a range of established AS/A2 level courses. A wider range of vocational courses were introduced in September 2006 including BTEC qualifications. Also taught is the DiDA (Diploma in Digital Applications) qualification in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Other academic options may include GCSE resits in Maths and English.

Since the introduction of Highers, Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 courses, the SQA have also introduced a National Assessment Bank of short examinations for each subject. These are more commonly known as NABs or unit assessments, and contain questions from specific academic units at a basic level. Each candidate must pass a certain number of NABs (usually three) before they can be presented for the final examination, although resits can occur with other NAB materials. After failing his A Levels, while studying for his resits the following year he took a work experience job at ITV East of England contractor Anglia Television. After passing his A Levels the following summer, he joined Anglia on a full- time basis as a runner, followed by transferring to Rapture TV where he presented the original incarnation of G@mers. For the purpose of revision, one or two weeks in mid-December, late March and late June may be devoid of classes. Due to the short length of revision time and the fact that all the exams are "en bloc", resits are greatly feared by the students, particularly the engineering students. Resit exams occur during the exam block of the next term, and in this way a "bow wave" of an ever-increasing number of exams to take can accumulate, which may be very difficult to remain on top of. The standard period of study for the master's degree (the standard degree) is 4 years.

In 2009–10 the Union lobbied LSE to allow students to have resits in their examinations. In protest to LSE's ties to Libya's Gaddafi regime, the Students' Union led demonstrations and occupations, including one of the Director's office. The Union was chiefly responsible for LSE agreeing to convert all £300,000 it had received from Gaddafi into scholarships for Libyan students.
