The first part of the series is the , introducing the new Pegasus Saint Koga and his friends Dragon Ryuhou, Lionet Souma, Wolf Haruto, Aquila Yuna and Aria, and the beginning of their fight against the God of War Mars in his quest to capture Aria to become the new Athena.

The time of the call was seen as a revolution of truth, with missionaries preaching its message all around the Middle East. These messengers were sent out with the Druze epistles and took written vows from believers, whose souls are thought to still exist in the Druze of today. The souls of those who took the vows during the call are believed to be continuously reincarnating in successive generations of Druze until the return of al-Hakim to proclaim a second Divine call and establish a Golden Age of justice and peace for all. In 1043, al- Muqtana Baha'uddin declared that the sect would no longer accept new pledges, and since that time proselytism has been prohibited awaiting al-Hakim's return at the Last Judgment to usher in a new Golden Age.

A 1984 Taiwanese (CTS) television series Reincarnated II (天蠶再變), is a rebooted follow-up to the original 1978 Hong Kong series, a friend of Wen fights a man with powerful martial arts and wants to be the emperor, finally he wins. The 1993, 30-episode ATV television series, Reincarnated II (天蠶變之再與天比高) is another rebooted follow-up of the 1978 series, Wan is in fact still alive and has regained his previous looks (his face changed again when he "reincarnated" again). Wan teaches the reincarnating art to a successor and dies standing after a battle. In the beginning of the 1980 60-episode RTV series Hegemony of the Lake (湖海爭霸錄), Wan is killed by the White Lotus sect.

The South Hamgyong mythology includes a large corpus of unique shamanic narratives, of which the most important is the Song of Dorang-seonbi and Cheongjeong-gaksi, centering on a woman who attempts to meet her beloved husband after his death. Other notable South Hamgyong myths include the Seng-gut narrative, which combines the creation myth and the Jeseok bon-puri; the Donjeon-puri, in which a husband and wife become the gods of money; and the Jim'gajang narrative, about three boys who take vengeance on their murderer by reincarnating as his sons.. The brief summaries of myths are from relevant entries in the Encyclopedia of Korean Folk Culture: Seng-gut, Donjeon-puri, Jin'gajang. By contrast, the province of Hwanghae in North Korea has virtually no shamanic mythology. The ritual and entertainment role played by mythical narratives in other regions is served by an unusually developed tradition of ceremonial dance and theater.

Immortal Man first appeared in Strange Adventures (Volume 1), one of the flagship science fiction anthology series of National Comics (now DC Comics) during the Silver Age of Comics. Published in issue #177 in June 1965, the 8-page story "I lived a Hundred Lives" was drawn by Jack Sparling. It is not clear who created him or if Sparling wrote the story as well. The story introduces the hero as a member of an ancient race of prehistoric superhumans who is given a magical amulet by the tribal chief so he may continue fighting evil for eternity by repeatedly reincarnating and recalling his past lives. Immortal Man was brought back to life in Strange Adventures #185 (1966) in a 16-page tale, with his reincarnation now explained as materializing in a new, clothed body soon after the death of his previous form. He then appeared again in Strange Adventures #190 (1966) and #198 (1967).

During this period, a series of kidnappings are occurring in Kyoto at the hands of a mysterious and sinister ninja clan. Before Musashi arrived the city, Otsu was kidnapped by the ninja clan while Suzume was momentarily out, which prompts Musashi and Suzume to form a team in order to rescue Otsu and the kidnapped citizens from the clan. On their venture, the duo faces a number of ninjas as well as monsters and eventually find the author responsible for all the occurring kidnappings in Kyoto; Sasaki "Ganryū" Kojirō, who has a scar on his forehead and had risen from death reincarnating as a vengeful demonic demigod embedded with rage and evil known as Chaos, obtaining a power far beyond his imaginations and challenges both Musashi and Suzume to a final duel in Ganryū-jima. Due to their mutual love towards Otsu, Musashi and Suzume confront Chaos in an arduous fight, which results in the evil demigod being destroyed once and for all, with the duo finally reuniting with Otsu.
