A teardrop trailer is an aerodynamically shaped semi-trailer with a curved- roof that differs in shape from the traditional rectangularly shaped trailer. The trailer is meant to be paired with a compatibly designed tractor unit leading to greater fuel efficiency of the tractor-trailer combination. As such, the "teardrop" phrase refers to the entire combination, not just the trailer. The curved shape of the roof decreases aerodynamic drag by smoothing airflow over the top, thus improving fuel efficiency.

Governor Montenegro's report to the Members of the Legislative Congress on 7th September 1904 The Decauville railway, which connected the port of Sapucaia with the Benjamin Constant Colony, began at the port of Sapucaia. It followed the right-hand bank of the Caeté River, above Bragança. It had a gauge of and was made with steel rails, which had a weight of 9 kg/m (18 lbs/yd). They were laid on wooden sleepers that were rectangularly flattened on all four sides.

A sketch by Adolf Fredrik Barnekow called "Plan D'Ellinge" done in 1768 shows a three-part landscaping west of the castle, in accordance with earlier sources. A threshold stone or sill stone () is a rectangularly dressed stone slab that forms part of the entrance of megalithic tombs of the Funnelbeaker culture, normally those with a passage. The red sandstone slab, up to 0.1 metres thick, was buried in the ground to a depth of 0.2 metres at the entrance to the chamber. Cultural sites of other types, such as Domus de Janas, also have a clear partition between the passage and the ante-chamber or main chamber. Chionodes sistrella is a moth in the family Gelechiidae. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Alberta, Colorado, Texas, southern Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, California and Mississippi.Chionodes at funetmothphotographersgroup The wingspan is 9–10 mm. The forewings are deep black and pure silvery white, with a broad longitudinal black band in the middle of the wing, equidistant from the costal and dorsal edge, starting at base of the costa and reaching one-half of the length of the wing, where it turns sharply rectangularly upward, reaching the costal edge and thus inclosing a narrow, longitudinal costal white patch.

The Fauces is paved with gray signinum with a net of rectangularly laid rows of white tesserae. There are two dark ocher-colored pilasters that were repaired, possibly due to the quake of 62 CE. The space includes the remains of a figurative picture thought by some scholars to have been Priapus or some similar guardian figure. The socle, painted black, is divided by yellow lines with yellow candelabra, with a red main zone and white upper zone. Plectophila discalis is a moth of the family Xyloryctidae first described by Francis Walker in 1865. It is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. The wingspan is 20–25 mm. The forewings are white, in females with a light fuscous suffusion forming a cloudy fascia, its outer edge distinct and rectangularly angulated in the middle, from three-fifths of the costa to the inner margin before the anal angle, and occupying the entire dorsal two-thirds of the wing from the base up to this, except a cloudy white spot below the middle, sometimes sprinkled with dark fuscous longitudinally in the disc, and on the posterior margin of the fascia.

Once through the doyal Doors (a term often applied now to the doors in the center of the iconostasis as well) there is the nave, which is the main and largest part of the church building. Here all the laity and choir stand (there are often few or no seats in the building) during worship; it is shaped rectangularly in the back, opening into two wings forming a cross towards the front. Through the iconostasis (always done through the 'Deacon's doors' on either side except during processions by the clergy) lies the altar (or sanctuary). This area is considered the most holy of the whole church, and laity other than church personnel are discouraged from entering.

Choreutis dryodora is a species of moth in the family Choreutidae. It is found in Mozambique. The wingspan is about 10 mm. The forewings are ochreous-brown, or reddish-brown, slightly speckled here and there with whitish and with two indistinct lines of whitish irroration from white dots on the costa, the first at one-third, nearly straight, rather irregular, preceded by a suffused dark fuscous fascia extended by suffusion along the margins to the base, the second from the costa at three-fifths very obliquely outwards for one-third of the breadth, then rectangularly angulated and irregularly dentate to the dorsum at two-thirds, preceded by a broad irregular dark fuscous fascia extended on the costa and dorsum to the first line, and partially slenderly edged posteriorly with dark fuscous.

Being aware of the modern European construction experience which he examined in the years of his Grand Embassy to Europe, the Czar ordered Domenico Trezzini to elaborate the first general plan of the city. The project of this architect for Vasilyevsky Island was a typical rectangular grid of streets (originally intended to be canals, like in Amsterdam), with three lengthwise thoroughfares, rectangularly crossed with about 30 crosswise streets. The shape of street blocks on Vasilyevsky Island are the same, as was later implemented in the Commissioners' Plan of 1811 for Manhattan: elongated rectangles.

The Flatiron Building in New York is shaped like a triangular prism Rectangles have been the most popular and common geometric form for buildings since the shape is easy to stack and organize; as a standard, it is easy to design furniture and fixtures to fit inside rectangularly shaped buildings. But triangles, while more difficult to use conceptually, provide a great deal of strength. As computer technology helps architects design creative new buildings, triangular shapes are becoming increasingly prevalent as parts of buildings and as the primary shape for some types of skyscrapers as well as building materials. In Tokyo in 1989, architects had wondered whether it was possible to build a 500-story tower to provide affordable office space for this densely packed city, but with the danger to buildings from earthquakes, architects considered that a triangular shape would be necessary if such a building were to be built.

After his death, Cyrus the Great's remains were interred in his capital city of Pasargadae, where today his limestone tomb (built around 540–530 B.C.E.) still exists. The translated ancient accounts give a vivid description of the tomb both geometrically and aesthetically; The tomb's geometric shape has changed little over the years, still maintaining a large stone of quadrangular form at the base (forty five feet by forty two feet), followed by a pyramidal succession of seven, irregular smaller rectangular stones (possibly as a reference to the seven planets of the solar system) reaching a height of eighteen feet, until the structure is curtailed by a rectangularly formed cubical edifice with a small opening or window on the side, where the slenderest man can barely squeeze through. The roof of the edifice and indeed the structure, is an elongated limestone pediment. The edifice, or the "small house" is a rectangular, elongated cube that lies directly on top of the pyramidal stone steps, and is in width, in height, and in length.
