The Joondalup railway line is a hybrid suburban rail and rapid transit railway line in Western Australia that runs from Perth north to Butler. It was formerly known as the Northern Suburbs Railway. For much of its route, it traverses the median strip of the Mitchell Freeway.

The station is on the Paris–Mulhouse railway line. The station is served by TER (local) services operated by SNCF. The station is served by Transilien line P (East Paris). From 1892 until 1950 the station was terminus of the Vincennes railway line, from Paris-Bastille.

In 1893 the railway line was extended from Nanu Oya to Bandarawela and in 1903 the station became a junction station when Udupussallawa railway line was constructed. In 1948 the government decided to close the Udapussellawa railway due to low traffic and the tracks were completely removed.

The north-western end of the Nurragi Conservation Reserve, a private protected area which follows the alignment of the former Milang railway line as a rail trail, terminates at Sandergrove.

The Barossa Trail begins adjacent to the railway line at Ann Milroy Lane in Kalbeeba on the eastern outskirts of Gawler. It follows the railway line through Sandy Creek, then crosses the railway using a short section of Cockatoo Lane. The track resumes adjacent to the Barossa Valley Way through gum trees then over a hill and descends into Lyndoch. From Lyndoch, the track follows the Barossa Valley Way, then next to the railway line to Rowland Flat.

The Northfield railway line (formerly Stockade railway line) was a railway in northern Adelaide between running Dry Creek and Northfield. The station was opened to allow for trains travelling in opposite directions on the then single track railway line to pass each other by means of a passing loop. The Browns Well Highway is the road from Loxton, South Australia through the Murray Mallee to Pinnaroo in South Australia. It was named in 2008 after the Browns Well district for areas traversed by the highway. Railways were evenly spaced across the Mallee before road transport improved. The Browns Well highway crosses the Loxton railway line on the outskirts of the town, the former Barmera railway line at Paruna about 34 km along the route, and the former Peebinga railway line 64 km along the route.

The Belorussky suburban railway line () is one of eleven railway lines used for suburban railway connections between Moscow, Russia, and surrounding areas, mostly in Moscow Oblast. Disused railway tunnel through Burbage Edge The disused Cromford and High Peak Railway line (which connected the High Peak canal at Whaley Bridge with the River Derwent in Cromford since 1831) ran through a tunnel beneath Burbage Edge. This stretch of the railway line was closed in 1896. The Peak District Boundary Walk long distance footpath follows the disused railway line from Burbage Edge down to Errwood Reservoir. In October 1934 a De Havilland Moth plane crashed on Burbage Edge in heavy mist, while struggling with strong winds.

The South Coast railway line (also known as the Tweed railway line) was a railway from Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, Australia. The route via the South Coast (now known as the Gold Coast) to Tweed Heads on the border of Queensland and New South Wales. The line operated from 1889 to 1964. The Gold Coast railway line re-opened in 1996 along a modified alignment in the north and a new route south but does not extend as far south yet as the South Coast line.

The Skagen railway line () is a long standard gauge single track railway line between Skagen and Frederikshavn in Vendsyssel, Denmark. The railway links the fishing port and seaside resort of Skagen with the Danish rail network. The railway line opened as a narrow gauge railway in 1890 and was converted to standard gauge in 1924. Until early 2000, Burnie airport had the distinction of having a railway line cross the northern end of runway 05/23, complete with flashing red signals, but without boom gates. Lights would begin flashing approximately 5 minutes before the train was expected to cross the runway, and aircraft were prohibited to land during this time. Since then, the runway has been shortened to no-longer cross the railway line, but the old runway segment is still visible from aerial photography. The railway line has not been in operation since 2003.

Ben Nevis railway station is an abandoned station on the Avoca railway line, a railway line running from Ararat to Avoca and onto Maryborough in the Australian state of Victoria. It also acted as the terminus of the abandoned Navarre railway line to Navarre, a community in the Wimmera region of Victoria, which was closed in 1954. Maggea is a town and locality in the Murray Mallee region of South Australia. It is on the Stott Highway between Swan Reach and Loxton and was on the former Waikerie railway line. On 31 May 1921 the locomotive had the last planned service at the Lötschberg railway line. Thereafter she led freight trains – from Berne – to Basel and Biel. From 1937 the locomotive was assigned to the marshalling yard of Lausanne.

The Redesdale railway line was a branch railway line off the Melbourne–Murray River line in Australia. The line was conceived in the Railway Construction Act 1884, which was known as the Octopus Act for its profligacy. The line never paid. The line had seven stations, including its junction with Melbourne - Murray River Railway at Redesdale Junction.

Pant was once on the railway line from Whitchurch to Welshpool and also on the Montgomery Canal; they are both now disused. Cambrian Heritage Railways have restored of the railway line between Pant and Llynclys as a heritage railway. Trains operate as far as Penygarreg Lane Halt at present.
