Thorpe St Peter is home to the Wainfleet & District Sporting Motorcycle Club. It hosts Motorcycle Grasstrack Racings International Lincolnshire Poacher and in 2011 held the European Grasstrack Championship Final.

Criticism was normally focused on the visuals, but that was often overlooked when the physics was tested. Modojos John Bedford respectively dismissed the graphics and soundtrack as rudimentary and repetitive, but found a great deal of satisfaction in mastering the controls and called the game "furiously addictive." Paice died in 1925 aged 71 and was buried in the family grave, in Croydon, his racing colours (he had always been interested in racings) draped on his coffin. With his animal portraits present in galleries and museums in England and in the United States at the Museum of Modern Art, New York City, Paice's paintings have been sold at Christie's, Sotheby's, and Bonhams. Father of eight children, one of his sons followed his father's steps and also became a painter, Philip Stuart Paice (1884–1940) adopting his mother's surname.

After racing towards the rear he made some progress in the second half of the race but never looked likely to win and came home seventh of the thirteen runners. For his final appearance he was sent to the United States for the Breeders' Cup Mile at Churchill Downs on 3 November and finished seventh to Expert Eye. The 2018 World's Best Racehorse Rankings saw Lighting Spear given a rating of 119, making him the 54th best racehorse in the world.

Muscle Milk Pickett Racings HPD ARX-03a at the 2012 Petit Le Mans Muscle Milk owner and founder, Greg Pickett, has also been involved in a championship winning North American sports car racing team. Founded in 2007, Pickett's team has competed in the American Le Mans Series the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Tudor United SportsCar Championship. The team's successes include overall and class victories as well as the 2012 and 2013 American Le Mans Series LMP1 Drivers' and Teams' Championship. The team officially closed operations on May 16th, 2014 with Greg Pickett focusing his attention back on the expansion of his Muscle Milk brand.

As mentioned above, in the paragraph one under "Controversial Use", many drag race track operators began dividing race day into "box" and "no box" classes, with "no box class" being prohibited from using any type of delay box in their race cars. However, electronic track timing systems were still used for the "no box class" meaning that a racer willing to cheat could rather easily conceal a delay box somewhere in his car (or on his person), and have an unfair advantage over his competitors. Race track operators therefore created a monumental task for themselves in enforcing rules against electronic devices in Bracket Racings "no box class", and as such, rarely pursue enforcement. On the occasions a track operator does attempt to catch cheaters with delay timers in the "no box" class, the enforcement task can be significantly complex and the results are usually controversial.

After two years domination by Dick Johnson Racings Ford Sierras, 1990 was to prove much of an upset year with race victories spread across seven teams with Nissan and Holden teams taking wins off the massed privateer Ford teams. The arrival of the 4WD, twin turbo Nissan Skyline GT-R towards the end of the Australian Touring Car Championship was enough for Jim Richards to take Nissan's first title in a four driver showdown again Ford Sierra threesome, Dick Johnson, Peter Brock and the surprising Colin Bond who had won the Lakeside and Mallala rounds of the ATCC. Glenn Seton took his first race wins as a team owner beginning with the Sandown 500, while the Holden Racing Team took a memorable Bathurst win for Win Percy and Allan Grice outlasting the GT-R and the pack of tyre frying Sierras on a day of attrition. Larry Perkins underlined Holden's return to form by winning Eastern Creek Raceways first major touring car race at the end of the season.
