In 2004, following the foundation of the International Quizzing Association (IQA), the event was held simultaneously in five countries: the United Kingdom (joined by quizzers from elsewhere, including Ireland), Belgium (joined by quizzers from the Netherlands), Estonia, India, and Malaysia. Normally, the top ten quizzers from the final district meet are sent in two separate teams (A and B) to the regional quiz. District meets tend to be fairly casual and laidback, providing low-pressure quizzing that allows quizzers to make mistakes and get feedback. District meets also allow quizzers to meet new people that attend nearby churches and make new friends. Fields – This event consists of teams from the same region.

The United States has eight fields (formerly called regions), each being associated with one of the Nazarene Universities located in the United States. Quizzers qualify for field-level competition based on the final meet in their district, which typically takes place in March or April. Teams first play in a round-robin tournament, then the 16 quizzers (or 24 in some regions) with the best scores compete in a quiz-off. The top ten quizzers from the quiz-off are again split into two separate teams (A and B) and sent to Nationals.

During a quiz, two teams face against each other with 3 quizzers on each team sitting at two long tables facing the quizmaster and holding a hand-held buzzer. A team can consist of as few as 2 and as many as 5 quizzers along with either 1 or 2 coaches. After the quiz-off, district teams compete in a double- elimination tournament to decide a Field Champion. This has no bearing on the teams that attend Nationals. Typically, 80 quizzers from among all the regions will qualify to quiz at Nationals. Assemblies of God Bible Quiz is sponsored by the Assemblies of God. Teen Bible Quiz games feature two teams of three quizzers each, plus up to three substitutes. Games have 20 questions, with point values of 10, 20, or 30 points depending on the difficulty. Quizzers who buzz in first (using hand-operated buzzers) and answer correctly within 30 seconds are awarded the point value; an incorrect response results in a deduction of half the point value.

A quizzer who interrupts the quizmaster (the question reader) must first complete the essence of the question and then give the answer; a quizzer who fails to do both correctly is not only penalized with a deduction of half the point value, but allows the opposing team a shot at the same question. Individual quizzers with five correct answers in a game "quiz out" and receive a 20-point bonus, but must sit out the remainder of the game; this rule was created with the intent to prevent one individual from dominating the match. This also encourages team play by giving more questions to quizzers who are not as knowledgeable of Scripture or as experienced at quizzing. Similarly, a quizzer with three incorrect answers is also disqualified (known variously as an err out, quiz-out backwards or strikeout), but without further point penalty; the purpose of this rule is to discourage quizzers from "buzzing in" and simply guessing, and also to speed up play.

A fledgling event was first staged by Quizzing.co.uk in 2003 at Villa Park football stadium, Birmingham, England. This saw 50 quizzers representing a handful of nations compete in a written test of quiz knowledge. The inaugural event was won by Olav Bjortomt.

Nationals – Nationals take place at the General Assembly of the Nazarene Conference or at the Nazarene Youth Conference (these events are held once every two years and alternate so that each event occurs only once every four years), as well as at a Q event held at one of the Nazarene Universities. The top quizzers from English-speaking countries compete. The top quizzers are chosen through one of the eight field competitions that occur in March, April, and May. The field teams normally participate in a double round robin tournament, receive seedings ranging from 1 to 8, and then participate in a double-elimination tournament.

Replacing the annual European Quizzing Championships, the event was open to quizzers from all over the world, with representatives of 26 nations competing.

Since 2011 Klussmann has been the founding chairman of the German Quizzing Association (Deutscher Quiz- Verein). He won the Berlin Quizzing Championship eight times in a row from 2011 to 2018. For many years he was one of the five best "Juniors" worldwide, i.e. quizzers under 30 years of age, and as a nine-time member of the national team (2010 to 2018).

Top of The Form was satirised in the 1960s pre-Python television series At Last the 1948 Show. "Natural Born Quizzers", an episode of Steve Coogan’s comedy series Coogan's Run, involved a thinly-disguised version of the show. In 2008, Dave Gorman traced the history of the show on BBC Four. A similar quiz for British schools in Germany called Top Marks was broadcast by BFBS Germany.

The 2005 championship on July 2, saw further significant growth with the event benefiting from the sponsorship of MSN Search. Countries joining the original five competing nations included Australia, Finland, Indonesia, Norway and Singapore. Quizzers sat eight papers of 30 questions each, covering: 'Culture', 'Entertainment', 'History', 'Lifestyle', 'Media', 'Sciences', 'Sport and Games', and 'World', with the lowest score from the eight genres being dropped – although these did come into play to settle tie- break situations. The eight genres were won outright or shared by quizzers from seven countries (Belgium, England, Estonia, Finland, India, Ireland, and Norway). Efforts to encourage the participation of women in the contest (competitive quizzing has hitherto been something of a male-dominated pastime) were rewarded in 2005 with a win for Trine Aalborg of Norway in the 'Lifestyle' category and a sixth place overall for Dorjana Širola of Croatia (who also finished 3rd among those competitors who had gathered at Silverstone motor racing circuit for the UK leg of the competition).

CET Quiz Club is one of the oldest and most active club in CET. CET QC conducts weekly informal sessions and other regular quizzing events in college. The club also organizes the inter college and open quiz competitions during Dhwani (Cultural fest) and Drishti (Tech fest), among others. One of the most awaited annual quizzing event, Eroteme, is conducted by the QC and attended by quizzers in and out of the state.

Free Methodist Bible Quiz is sponsored by the Free Methodist Church. Quizzers study specific books of the bible each year, and jump from seat pads in team and individual competition. While the majority of teams in the United States come from the Midwest and Pacific Northwest regions, there are teams from other regions, most notably from Kentucky and New York. Free Methodist quizzing also takes place in Kenya, the Philippines and Taiwan.

Official Nazarene Bible quizzes can be placed in two categories. National Track quizzes have a direct bearing on Nationals competitions, and Non-National Track do not have a direct bearing on Nationals qualification. There are National Track competitions at the following levels: Districts – This is the basic officially sanctioned level of quizzing. Local teams attend monthly meets in order to practice and to give their quizzers the opportunity to qualify for the end-of-the-year regional quiz.

It is up to the quizzers to form teams, which are generally based on tables, though if one table has a large group around it they may decide to split up. Some pubs insist on a maximum team size (usually between six and ten). The team members decide on a team name, often a supposedly humorous phrase or pun, which must be written on all papers handed in. People often have to pay to participate – ranging from around 50p to £5 per person.

RV QuizCorp is the quiz club of RV College of Engineering, Bangalore, one of India's most well known engineering colleges. RV QuizCorp had its humble beginnings about ten years ago when two enterprising quizzers Avinash Mudaliar and Gopal Srinivasan, decided that a stage for testing mental prowess was of order in RVCE. Buoyed by the signs of interest shown by the students and the encouragement of the then principal, Prof. M.R. Holla, quizzing in RVCE emerged to be more than a hobby – it became a culture.

The Battle of Minds is an intra school quiz organized by the school's GK Club which churns out the finest quizzers from the school and prepares them for inter-school quizzes. From 2013, a new event named Battle of Legends was also started for those who have brought laurels to the school in quizzes from the passing out batch. Loyola Jamshedpur can be also called the quizzing base of Jamshedpur. Ameliora and Veritas are English fests organized by the Debating Club of the school.

Finalists of the individual competition at the 2018 Nordic Quizzing Championships in Tallinn, Estonia The Nordic Quizzing Championships is a bi- annual quiz event in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Top quizzers from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Åland Islands, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are invited. The event includes three different competitions: An Individual Competition, a Team Competition, and a Pairs Competition. International Quizzing Association delegates from Estonia, Finland and Norway, meeting at the European Quizzing Championships in Blackpool in November 2007, began talks with a view to instituting a Nordic Championships.

Over the past many years, NALSAR has been very active in the Hyderabad and Indian quizzing circuit. Teams representing the university have won a number of inter-college quizzes in the twin cities, and across India. The college has a strong quizzing base and sees quizzes being hosted within the college regularly from time to time. Achievements by quizzers from NALSAR include finishing as runners-up in the K-Circle India Quiz 2010 and 2011, as well as winners in BITS Pilani-Hyderabad Campus' annual fest Pearl 2012, 2013 and 2015.

In series 1, surviving pairs were both given a category, for example "Name landlords in EastEnders' Queen Vic". The quizzers then volleyed answers until one fails to give an answer or repeats one already given. The winning picker then steals a lot from their opponents' collection, and unlike Round 2, collections may be emptied. This process happened three times, with the team in the lead at the start of the round going first in the first and third volleys; the team with the lowest total values at the end of the round is eliminated.

Natural Born Quizzers, featuring the mad, trivia-obsessive brothers Stewart and Guy Crump (Coogan and Patrick Marber). When the brothers lost a children's quiz show in 1975, they burned down the studio, killing their parents and one of the sisters from the opposing team. 20 years later, the brothers kidnap their therapist and the surviving sister, Cathy (Rebecca Front), and make them re-enact the quiz on the roof of a car park with the now-transsexual quiz host, Jeremy (Angela) Monkhead. It ends with Stewart and Guy taking the trophy and then detonating a bomb.

The show deliberately featured Britain's top quiz contestants (people who had won other shows). The very first show had David Stainer, one of the top quizzers in the world and champion of champions on Only Connect. He had a big score in the first round but lost to Rob Hannah (from Eggheads, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and other shows). In later shows Rob Hannah reached the final several times and beat several other top quiz players including Alan Gibbs (who also was in a team that won Only Connect), Nic Mortimer (the youngest contestant of the series) and Brian Pendreigh (who was in the news after Eggheads a few weeks before - which his team won).

MahaQuizzer is an annual solo quiz contest held simultaneously across several Indian cities. It was instituted in 2005 by the Karnataka Quiz Association. The event is now held in Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, New Delhi, Thrissur, Guwahati, Tezpur, Panjim, Bhubaneshwar, Mysore and Coimbatore. It is now a collaborative effort between KQA (which provides content and administrators) and other quizzing organisations such as Quiz Foundation of India, Chennai, K-Circle, Hyderabad, The Hyderabad Quiz Club, Bombay Quiz Club, The Boat Club Quiz Club, Pune, Grey Cells Kerala, Bhubaneshwar Quiz Club, Kutub Quizzers, New Delhi, Trivia Bytes Creations and Oo Aa Ka Kha, Guwahati, Sunday Evening Quiz Club, Goa, and Coimbatore Quiz Circle, Coimbatore and has thus evolved into being the national quizzing championships.

Five correct answers is a "quiz-out," and three errors are an "error-out"; a ten-point bonus is awarded for a "perfect quiz-out", when a quizzer gets five right and none wrong in a quiz. A 20-point bonus is awarded for the 5th, 6th and 7th quizzers answering correctly Quizzing usually starts on the local level in August or September, and culminates in a national tournament each April. The next national championship will be held in April 2017 in Kansas City, MO. Nationals usually draws 40-45 teams each year, representing about 300 teens. Starting in 2014, the National Champions win the Moisman Traveling Trophy, which commemorates Mike Moisman, the founder of BQF, who passed in early 2013.

Two cultural fests are conducted during the year; an intra-collegiate fest, Parichay during the odd semester, which is ideal as a first interaction between the new juniors and seniors, and Pantheon, the inter-collegiate fest and Gestione, the inter-collegiate management fest held during alternate even semesters. The college has continuously produced some of the finest quiz teams in the state and have won many quizzes in India; most notably, the team consisting of Ashish Saligram, Amit R and Shankar MS won the VTU gold medal in 2011. The college quiz club, Trivial Pursuit, hosts an annual quiz fest called 'Quizzers Anonymous' which is attended by teams from various colleges from in and around Bangalore. The college theater club "ACTKRIT" is one of the best among colleges in bangalore, and has one more than 10 Street Play events all over the Karnataka.

Designed as an entry-level version of Teen Bible Quiz, games differ from the standard format in that the first 12 questions are offered to one team only, alternating teams between questions, with standard team-against-team quizzing beginning with the 13th question of each game. There is also no post-season playoff system. Junior Bible Quiz uses a similar format for children in grades one through six, with some differences: 1) a group of 576 questions and answers covering the entire Bible is used as the subject material, and does not change from year to year; 2) four quizzers and up to four substitutes comprise a team; 3) six correct answers are needed for a "quiz out" and a 10-point bonus (this was also the rule in Teen Bible Quiz until the start of the 2005–2006 season).Assemblies of God Junior Bible Quiz There is also a Bible Seal program that covers Junior Bible Quiz questions.
