Pierre-Charles is a very good rider and I told him beforehand he should do what he wants. There was no pace early so he went forward on her and sat upsides the leader. It was exactly what I would have liked him to do. She quickened up well and stuck at it.

After the race Atzeni commented "He's just a proper horse. He travelled great, goes on any ground and quickened up fantastically. He's a great horse to ride and I'm very lucky to ride him." At Skinner Burn Hanlan was two lengths ahead. He frequently looked around over his shoulder to see that the course was clear, apparently not exerting himself to his fullest powers and seeming quite at ease, as if confident of the result. Approaching Redheugh Bridge Hawdon put on a spurt, but it had no effect. Hanlan also quickened up and passed under the bridge with a lead of about three lengths.

I'd like to ride him again, put it that way", while John Gosden said "This horse had to be gelded, because he wasn't prepared to play ball, and he's the happiest fellow ever now, a great character. After the race Stott said "This horse has been a legend for me. He ran in the Greenham and didn't stay, so we dropped him back to six. He has a lot of speed, we got a lovely tow and he quickened up well... He's a very good horse". At Royal Ascot on 21 June Hello Youmzain was stepped up to Group 1 level for the first time and started at odds of 6/1 for the Commonwealth Cup.

Sizing John overtook Don Poli at the last fence and held off a sustained challenge from Empire of Dirt to win by three quarters of a length. After the race Harrington said "He was just brilliant. He was still cantering turning in, as far as I could see, and when he asked him he quickened up. I know he didn't win very far, but he still won and he wasn't stopping... He looks like a three-mile chaser rather than a two-miler".

After the race Candy said "He was cantering and then quickened up in proper Limato style. He looked like he was starting to go a bit rusty in his coat today, but if he's absolutely bouncing we would have to discuss going to the Breeders' Cup." On 5 November Limato was sent to the United States to contest the Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita Park and started the 3.4/1 favourite ahead of the 2015 winner Tepin. He finished sixth of the fourteen runners, three and a half lengths behind the winner Tourist.

Peslier said "He was a little caught out when they first quickened up but he really picked up when it mattered". On 6 October, Karakontie was reunited with Pasquier and started 11/4 favourite for the Group One Prix Jean- Luc Lagardère at Longchamp. Pasquier positioned the colt behind the Spanish colt Noozhoh Canarias before taking the lead 200 metres from the finish and winning by three quarters of a length. Charm Spirit was a length and a quarter away in third ahead of the Anglesey Stakes winner Wilshire Boulevard and the British-trained Barley Mow.

Ridden by Joseph O'Brien he tracked Akdarena before taking the lead a furlong and a half from the finish and winning "comfortably" by three quarters of a length from Dandy Boy. Joseph O'Brien, who was winning his first Group race, said "He quickened up really well when I asked and it was a good performance. He can’t have the ground fast enough, so it suited him well tonight". In September Beethoven stepped back up to Group One class and finished fourth to Cape Blanco in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown and fourth in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot behind Poet's Voice.
