Benoh earned a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 1980, and a Doctor of Arts in Studio Art from New York University in 1993. Benoh began teaching art in 1979 at RISD and later at various colleges and universities, concluding with George Washington University, Washington, DC in 2010.

Although this album produced no chart singles in the US, "If I Had a Heart" peaked at No. 81 on the RPM Country Tracks charts in Canada. Fruge and Buchan left the group before the release of their second album, 1994's French Quarter Moon. This album produced their first US chart single in "Let's Go Spend Your Money Honey", a No. 70 on the Billboard country charts. Also included on this album was the song "She's a Wild One", which later became a Number One hit in 1994 for Faith Hill under the title "Wild One".

After another recording session with the Sunsets (this time produced by Charlie Gillett) Track decided on option number two and brought in Mike Hurst to produce a Shakin' Stevens solo single. The result, "Never" was released by Track in March 1977. Sensing which way the wind was blowing, George Chick, Ian Lawrence and Mike Lloyd Jones all left the Sunsets for good and formed a new band named Quarter Moon. Paul Barrett wasted no time in inviting ex-roadie Johnny Chop (real name Colin Hopkins) to take over bass and recruiting Danny Wild to play lead guitar.

The race attracted a field of seventeen runners, thirteen trained in the United Kingdom and four in Ireland: there were no challengers from continental Europe. The favourite was the Luca Cumani-trained Gossamer who had won the Prestige Stakes and the Fillies' Mile in 2001. The four Irish challengers, all trained by Aidan O'Brien at Ballydoyle were Quarter Moon, winner of the Moyglare Stud Stakes, Lahinch, the winner of the Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes and the maiden race winners Maryinsky and Pietra Dura. The Godolphin stable was represented by Kazzia, who had not raced since winning the Premio Dormello at Milan in October 2001.

The dead body of an infant can be seen discarded to the left, whereas the legs of another can be seen held down with force to the ground by a presumably younger witch in the center foreground. More witches, young and old, can be seen in the background, as well as three dead infants, apparently manacled, hanging from the neck on a stake to the left in the distance. Typical of the imagery of witchcraft, many of the symbols used are inverted. The goat extends his left rather than right hoof toward the child, while the quarter moon faces out of the canvas at the top left corner.

Quarter Moon took the lead in the straight but Margarula was close behind and overtook the favourite a furlong from the finish. The two leaders drew well clear of the other fillies in the closing stages and Margarula kept on well to prevail by a length, with a gap of six lengths back to Lady's Secret in third. Jim Bolger commented "I said beforehand that I had been training for 25 years and could do with a pleasant surprise at this stage. Margarula has given it to me today after getting a peach of a ride from Kevin, who saved every inch of ground along the inner".

After directing and writing award winning movies and series for television, e.g. the Tatort crime thriller ', Zübert returned to the big screen in 2010 with the comedy-drama Dreiviertelmond (Three Quarter Moon), which was nominated for the German Film Award, won the Bavarian Film Award and the Director´s Guild of Germany Metropolis Award and was screened in many international festivals. His 2013 effort Tour de Force had its premiere on the Grand Piazza of the Locarno International Film Festival and its North American Premiere on the Toronto International Film Festival, where he returned the following year with his German-Greek drama One Breath.

Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town is an album by country music artist Emmylou Harris, released in 1978. The album reached number 3 on the Billboard charts, with three charting singles: "To Daddy" (written by Dolly Parton) at #3, "Two More Bottles of Wine" at #1 (the third #1 of Harris' career), and "Easy from Now On" (co-written by Carlene Carter, and the song from which the album's title comes) at #12. Also featured are "One Paper Kid", a duet with Willie Nelson, and "Leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight", which the Oak Ridge Boys would reach #1 with in 1980. The painting used for the album cover is by Susanna Clark.

The Daily Telegraphs correspondent commented that she was "gallant in defeat", pointing out that she had been running on less favourable ground than the winner, who had raced up the stands side rail. On 14 July at the Curragh Quarter Moon started the 4/5 favourite for the Irish Oaks but after taking the lead in the straight she was overtaken inside the final furlong and beaten a length by the 33/1 outsider Margarula. The filly was then brought back in distance for the Nassau Stakes over ten furlongs at Goodwood Racecourse on 3 August and started favourite. She appeared to be "reluctant" before the race and finished third of the ten runners behind Islington and Sulk.

The primary logo depicted a wizard conjuring a basketball with a quarter moon. In 2007, the Wizards made minor modifications on their team jerseys and logos. To accommodate the gold–black alternate jerseys they introduced the previous season along with the design change on the Verizon Center floor, they changed their secondary team colors from bronze to metallic gold, and the player's name on the back of the jersey was changed from white/blue with bronze trim to gold (blue on home uniforms) with a change in lettering; the road uniform name lettering changed back to white with gold trim before the 2010–11 season. On May 10, 2011, the Wizards unveiled a new color scheme, uniforms, and logo.

Carter co-wrote a song with Guy Clark's wife, Susanna Clark, for Emmylou Harris on her 1978 Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town album, "Easy From Now On". In 1983, she had a top-40 hit "I Couldn't Say No", a duet with Robert Ellis Orrall. In 1987, Carter joined with the singing trio The Carter Sisters, consisting of her mother June Carter Cash and June's sisters Helen and Anita Carter. Together, they formed a revived version of The Carter Family, and were featured on a 1987 television episode of Austin City Limits along with Johnny Cash. Carter's career really took off with the album I Fell in Love, in 1990.

A halo around the Moon and a pair of moon dogs over the observatory at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. A moon dog, moondog, or mock moon, (scientific name paraselene, plural paraselenae, meaning "beside the moon") is a relatively rare bright circular spot on a lunar halo caused by the refraction of moonlight by hexagonal-plate-shaped ice crystals in cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. A pair of moon dogs over Didcot, England Moon dogs appear as part of the 22° halo, roughly 10 Moon diameters outside the Moon. They are exactly analogous to sun dogs, but are rarer because the Moon must be bright, about quarter moon or more, for the moon dogs to be observed.

On 7 June, Islington was one of fourteen fillies to contest the 224th running of the Oaks at Epsom Downs Racecourse. Racing on soft ground she tracked the favourite Kazzia, but after briefly moving up to challenge the leader early in the straight she faded in the closing stages to finish eighth. Following the death of Lord Weinstock in July, the ownership of Islington passed to the executors of his estate for the remainder of her racing career. Two months after her failure at Epsom, Islington was brought back in distance for the ten furlong Nassau Stakes at Goodwood Racecourse, where her opponents included Quarter Moon, who had finished eighteen and a half lengths in front of her when finishing second in the Oaks.

Turtle Bow finished third but was relegated to fourth behind Ana Marie for causing interference. After a three-month break Bright Sky was stepped up in distance for the Prix Vermeille over 2400 metres at Longchamp on 15 September and came home third of the eleven runners behind Pearly Shells and Ana Marie. She was then dropped back in trip for the 2000 metres Prix de l'Opéra at Longchamp on 6 October when she was accompanied by her pacemaker Blue Lightning and started the 0.9/1 favourite in a twelve-runner field. Her opponents for the Group 1 prize included Quarter Moon, Irresistible Jewel (Ribblesdale Stakes), Marotta, Serisia (Prix de Psyché), Walzerkoenigin (Prix Chloé) and Golden Silca (Mill Reef Stakes).

Yesterday's dam Jude showed little ability as a racehorse, failing to win in four starts before being sold to Premier Bloodstock for 92,000 guineas as a three-year-old. She made more impact as a broodmare, with her other foals including Quarter Moon (second in The Oaks) and All My Loving (third in the Epsom Oaks). Several of Jude's foals were named in reference to Beatles songs: apart from Yesterday ("Yesterday") and All My Loving ("All My Loving") they included Magicalmysterytour ("Magical Mystery Tour") and Betterbetterbetter (from the lyric of "Hey Jude"). Jude's dam Alruccaba was an influential broodmare whose other descendants have included Alborada, Allegretto (Prix Royal Oak), Aussie Rules (Poule d'Essai des Poulains) and Albanova (Preis von Europa).

Rather than making her first appearance in a maiden race Quarter Moon made her track debut in the Group 3 Debutante Stakes over seven furlongs on soft ground at the Curragh on 19 August. Starting at odds of 5/1 she was restrained in the early stages before producing a strong late run and failing by only a head to overhaul the Dermot Weld-trained favourite Saranac Lake. Two weeks later the filly was stepped up to Group 1 class and started the 7/4 favourite for the Moyglare Stud Stakes over the same course and distance. Her sixteen opponents included Sophisticat (also trained by O'Brien), Seba (winner of the Chesham Stakes), Dress To Thrill (Tyros Stakes), High Society (Rochestown Stakes), Mahsusie (Marble Hill Stakes) and Miss Beabea (runner-up in the Phoenix Stakes).

Spyboy is a 1998 live album by Emmylou Harris and her backing band, Spyboy, which she formed for a tour to perform songs from her 1995 career-redefining album, Wrecking Ball. Taking a stripped-down approach, Harris is backed by a trio comprising country singer-songwriter Buddy Miller on guitar and New Orleans musicians Daryl Johnson on bass and Brady Blade on drums. Along with songs from Wrecking Ball, such as "Where Will I Be" and "Deeper Well", Harris performs other songs from earlier in her career, such as "Born to Run" from Cimarron, "Love Hurts", which she first performed with Gram Parsons, "I Ain't Living Long Like This" from Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town and her ode to Parsons, "Boulder to Birmingham", from her 1975 debut album, Pieces of the Sky.

80 Six aircraft in each airstrike were armed with torpedoes and the remainder with bombs or flares or both to supplement the three-quarter moon. The Royal Air Force (RAF) had positioned a Short Sunderland flying boat off the harbour to search for any movement to or from the port and this was detected at 17:55 by acoustic locators and again at 20:40, alerting the defenders. The noise of the on-coming first airstrike was heard at 22:25 and the anti-aircraft guns defending the port opened fire shortly afterwards, as did those on the ships in the harbour. The torpedo-carrying aircraft of the first wave scored one hit on the battleship and two on the recently completed battleship while the two flare droppers bombed the oil storage depot with little effect.

VI Kal. Mart. The Romans counted days inclusively in their calendars, so this was actually the fifth day before March 1 when counted in the modern exclusive manner (not including the starting day).

Despite three consecutive defeats, Margarula was then elevated to the highest class to contest the Group 1 Irish Oaks at the Curragh on 14 July and started a 33/1 outsider in a twelve-runner field. The Aidan O'Brien-trained Quarter Moon started odds-on favourite after finishing second in both the Irish 1000 Guineas and The Oaks while the other fancied runners included Irresistible Jewel (winner of the Ribblesdale Stakes), Mellow Park (Lupe Stakes, Lancashire Oaks) and Red Rioja (C L Weld Park Stakes). Margarula was settled towards the rear of the field as the O'Brien stable's pacemaker Kournakova made the running but moved up on the inside into fifth place approaching the final turn.

Houston dominated the game early, as quarterback Warren Moon completed 19 of 22 passes for 218 yards and 4 touchdowns in the first half; Moon had only played in the second quarter of the previous game against the Bills after missing five straight games due to injury. The Oilers held the ball for 21:12, keeping the Bills' high-powered offense off the field for most of the first two quarters. On the opening drive of the first quarter, Moon completed 6 of 7 passes on an 80-yard scoring drive that took over 9 minutes off the clock and ended it with his first touchdown throw to wide receiver Haywood Jeffires for 3 yards to give the Oilers a 7–0 lead. Buffalo responded on their ensuing drive, as Kenneth Davis returned the kickoff 33 yards to the 44-yard line. Reich subsequently led the Bills to the Oilers 18-yard line where Steve Christie made a 36-yard field goal, to cut the score to 7–3.
