He took a job as a fire eater with a traveling circus. This did not last long either, as he ended up setting the circus on fire. He has an intense fear of cold, called cryophobia.

Many clinical studies have found that fire setting rarely occurs by itself but usually occurs with other socially unacceptable behavior. The motives that have recently earned the most attention are pleasure, a cry for help, retaliation against adults, and desire to reunite the family. It seems like it is a combination of pyromania and bad behavior that initiates fire setting. Fire setting among children and teens can be recurring or periodic.

After Willis was fired due to alcohol problems, Joe Elliott called and asked Collen to audition. He was asked to perform solos on the songs "Stagefright" and "Photograph" during the recording sessions of Pyromania. Mutt Lange, the band's producer, said to Phil "just have fun on it, play some solos on it". "Photograph", "Rock of Ages", "Foolin'", "Stagefright", and "Rock Till You Drop" were all songs that he played solos on.

Idle Cure was an arena rock band from Long Beach, California. The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music calls their sound "the best example of cloning a sound for Christian markets", likening it to that of Def Leppard's Pyromania. They targeted a youthful audience, distinguished by overtly evangelical religious lyrics. CCM magazine reported that all original members of the band had been in mainstream bands prior to the formation of Idle Cure.

An American physician, Beard, described "neurasthenia" in 1869. German neurologist Westphal, coined the term "obsessional neurosis" now termed obsessive- compulsive disorder, and agoraphobia. Alienists created a whole new series of diagnoses that highlighted single, impulsive behavior, such as kleptomania, dipsomania, pyromania, and nymphomania. The diagnosis of drapetomania was also developed in the Southern United States to explain the perceived irrationality of black slaves trying to escape what was thought to be a suitable role.

Matt Nathanson released an EP of Def Leppard covers titled Pyromattia in the U.S. on Friday, June 8, 2018. The title is a play on Def Leppard's 1983 album Pyromania. Pyromattia features songs from that album as well as 1981's High 'N' Dry, 1987's Hysteria, and 1999's Euphoria. In an interview with Billboard, Nathanson said that Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott liked the album, specifically commenting about his cover of "Stage Fright".

Willis was one of the main songwriters of the band during their first three albums. He was dismissed from the band during the recording of Pyromania due to excessive drinking that hampered his guitar playing, and was replaced by guitarist Phil Collen. He later recorded with the bands Gogmagog (with former and current members of Iron Maiden) and Roadhouse. Willis played Hamer Standard guitars almost exclusively during his tenure with Def Leppard.

The clinician's handbook, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, also known as the DSM, gives six standards that must be met for a child to be officially diagnosed with pyromania. # The child had to have set more than one fire deliberately. # Before setting the fire, the child must have felt some feelings of tension or arousal. # The child must show that he or she is attracted to fire and anything related to fire.

Before Collen's entrance into Def Leppard on 12 July 1982 during the recording of Pyromania, he had previously been asked to consider joining the band during the 1981 tour for High 'n' Dry by Joe Elliott and Steve Clark, whom he knew at the time. Despite this invitation, there was no need to replace Pete Willis yet and as a result, Collen stayed as a member of Girl for the time being.

In Leonard Samson's next appearance, he owned a private practice instead of running the institute. Known patients at Ravencroft include Carnage, Chameleon, D.K., Doctor Octopus, Electro, Gale, Jackal, Massacre, Mayhem, Mysterio, Prism, Pyromania, Ramon Grant, Shriek, Venom, Vulture, and Webber. The institute reappeared in Vengeance of the Moon Knight. In this incarnation it housed mostly non-superpowered psychopaths and had an imposing metal front gate with a Gothic facade similar to DC's Arkham Asylum.

The mood disorder could come first or co-occur with the beginning of kleptomania. In advanced cases, depression may result in self-inflicted injury and could even lead to suicide. Some people have reported relief from depression or manic symptoms after theft. It has been suggested that because kleptomania is linked to strong compulsive and impulsive qualities, it can be viewed as a variation of obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, together with pathological gambling, compulsive buying, pyromania, nailbiting and trichotillomania.

His first engineering sessions were during the punk rock explosion of the late 1970s and early 1980s and included recordings with the Damned. He worked alongside Robert John "Mutt" Lange for decades. His contemporaries at Wessex include producers Roy Thomas Baker and Chris Thomas, and engineers Tim Friese-Greene and Bill Price. Shipley also worked with Def Leppard on their albums, High 'n' Dry (July 1981), Pyromania (January 1983), Hysteria (August 1987) and Adrenalize (March 1992).

"Photograph" has been performed at every Def Leppard concert tour since its release. The song is traditionally the final song of the concert, often used during the encore (as well as fellow Pyromania track Rock of Ages). During these performances, Elliott attempts to rile the crowd into singing along by saying "Come on, sing it" before the first chorus. "Photograph", however, is harsh on the singer's vocals (especially as time wears on) due to the song's high notes.

During the early to mid-1980s the Marquee became an important venue to the new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM). Def Leppard played their first show on the Pyromania World Tour here, and included a different setlist from the rest of the shows on that tour. There was a glam revival spearheaded by Hanoi Rocks, the Babysitters, the Quireboys and others. NWOBHM bands, such as Angel Witch, Diamond Head, Witchfynde and Praying Mantis were regulars.

The appropriate treatment for pyromania varies with the age of the patient and the seriousness of the condition. For children and adolescents treatment usually is cognitive behavioral therapy sessions in which the patient's situation is diagnosed to find out what may have caused this impulsive behavior. The first Panican Whyasker songs were written before the end of 1998 with Dushko Krumov on the guitar and Alexandar Yanev on the bass. In February 1999 Dushko went to Germany and Ivo Peshev (currently a guitarist in Skitnicks) came aboard. In this line-up and in the spring of 1999 the band recorded their debut album Rock’n’Roll Coma.

"Photograph" is a song performed by English hard rock band Def Leppard and produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange. It is the lead single from the band's third studio album, Pyromania (1983). Their lead vocalist Joe Elliott has described the song as generally about "something you can't ever get your hands on". When released as a single it reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Tracks chart, where it stayed for six weeks, and No. 12 on the Pop Singles chart.

Certain obsessive- compulsive spectrum disorders as well as impulse control disorders share the suffix "-mania," namely, kleptomania, pyromania, and trichotillomania. Despite the unfortunate association implied by the name, however, no connection exists between mania or bipolar disorder and these disorders. Furthermore, evidence indicates a B12 deficiency can also cause symptoms characteristic of mania and psychosis. Hyperthyroidism can produce similar symptoms to those of mania, such as agitation, elevated mood, increased energy, hyperactivity, sleep disturbances and sometimes, especially in severe cases, psychosis.

From their fourth album, "Original Me" (2011), only two songs were included: "Pyromania" and "San Francisco". The song "Summer of Love", from their 2012 compilation "Back on the Dancefloor", was also included. The new material consists of three songs; the first being "The Rhythm of the Night", a cover of Corona hit, "Glorious" and "The World Is in My Hands". The album closes with two acoustic songs: an acoustic version of "Glorious" and an acoustic version of "Enemy", a song present on "Original Me".

Best Of The Videos is a DVD featuring music videos by Def Leppard. This one- disc collection contains a total of 33 commercial single videos that helped jump the band to success after the release of their breakthrough 1983 album, Pyromania. The "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" video featured on the compilation, is the 1984 version. This DVD collection was released alongside its own compilation CD album, which included various songs that were not released as singles and singles that did not have music videos made for them.

The 2-CD version gives a more even cross-section of the band's career, starting with two songs from On Through the Night (1980), four from High 'n' Dry, seven from Pyromania, seven from Hysteria, five from Adrenalize, two from Retro Active, "When Love & Hate Collide" the new song on Vault, two from Slang (1996), one from Euphoria (1999), two from X (2002) and one new song, the cover of "Waterloo Sunset" which was to be included in the band's forthcoming cover album Yeah! (2006).

He then segues the conversation into advice on how one should handle the rumors of the printers' pyromania penchant, but both nearly fall victim to their lassitude and as such are unable to provide a substantial response. Living in the ruins are the Junkers, a group of scavengers and mercenaries; Jamison Fawkes was among their numbers. The effects of the radiation awakened a sense of madness which soon developed into pyromania. In the heart of the destroyed omnium, Junkrat found a valuable secret, making him the target of bounty hunters and rival gangs.

Jakarta was formed in 1981. During the initial period the band went through numerous lineup changes, before original members Igor Popović (vocals) and Jane Parđovski (a former Butik member, guitar) started performing with Rade Bulatović (bass guitar), Miloš Petrović (keyboards) and Ivan Fece (a former Luna member, drums). They released their debut album Maske za dvoje (Masks for Two), produced by Saša Habić, in 1984.Maske za dvoje at Discogs The album brought synth-funk hits "Spiritus", "Piromanija" ("Pyromania"), "Dama sa severa" ("Lady from the North") and "Pozovi me" ("Call Me").

Both Pyromania and Hysteria feature in Rolling Stone list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Def Leppard were among the most successful of the new wave of British heavy metal bands in the early 1980s. They combined the raw power of metal with a pop emphasis on melody, catchy hooks and vocal harmonies that, particularly later on, contrasted sharply with harsher contemporary metal and punk bands. Their early album On Through the Night (1980) appealed to metal fans and influenced the likes of Dimebag Darrell of Pantera and Jeff Hanneman of Slayer.

After Nikolai Noskov left the band in 1990, bassist Alexander Minkov took over as lead vocalist. AllMusic's Jason Anderson notes his "faux Joe Elliot vocals" and overall finds the album "at times extremely reminiscent of Pyromania-era Def Leppard". The album went completely unnoticed in the U.S., where the band's MTV hit "Bang" was long forgotten by most rock enthusiasts and the taste of the audience had changed, but was well received in other countries. It sold 500,000 copies outside the United States, notably becoming Platinum in Denmark.

Peter Andrew Willis (born 16 February 1960 in Sheffield, England) is a retired British musician, best known as a founding member of the band Def Leppard. He co-wrote many tracks and played guitar on the band's first three albums: On Through the Night, High 'n' Dry, and Pyromania, which was being recorded at the time of his departure. He was fired from Def Leppard in 1982 and replaced by Phil Collen. In 2019, Willis was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Def Leppard.

He creates, a town involving the trains, called Madham and obsessively builds a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge using match sticks in the basement of his parents home. Dougie appears to be unaware he has some form of mental illness (potentially PTSD, autism, schizophrenia, pyromania), although what type of mental illness he struggles with is never discussed. He often views others as being different or abnormal. Dougie claims he is not a troubled youth, but others seem to see him as such, and he engages in troublesome activities: stalking and prank calls.

Impulse control disorder: People who are abnormally unable to resist certain urges or impulses that could be harmful to themselves or others, may be classified as having an impulse control disorder, and disorders such as kleptomania (stealing) or pyromania (fire-setting). Various behavioral addictions, such as gambling addiction, may be classed as a disorder. Obsessive-compulsive disorder can sometimes involve an inability to resist certain acts but is classed separately as being primarily an anxiety disorder. Substance use disorder: This disorder refers to the use of drugs (legal or illegal, including alcohol) that persists despite significant problems or harm related to its use.

"Angelia" is a ballad recorded by Richard Marx and the third released single on his second album, Repeat Offender. "Angelia" hit #2 on the Cash Box singles chart, and reached #4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart on December 2, 1989. It was also a Top 40 hit in Australia and made the Top 50 in the UK. On the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, "Angelia" peaked at #2 for several weeks behind the Linda Ronstadt/Aaron Neville duet "Don't Know Much". Richard Marx based the sound of "Angelia" on Def Leppard's 1983 album Pyromania and the 1987 album Hysteria.

Following their breakthrough, the band moved to Dublin in February 1984 for tax purposes to begin writing the follow-up to Pyromania. Mutt Lange initially joined in on the songwriting sessions but then suddenly declined to return as producer due to exhaustion. Jim Steinman (of Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell fame) was brought in. However, Steinman worked only briefly with the band, and the recording work was not released. Bassist Rick Savage On 31 December 1984, drummer Rick Allen lost his left arm in a car crash on the A57 in the hills outside the band's home city of Sheffield.

There are no specific criteria for "externalizing behavior" or "externalizing disorders". Thus, there is no clear classification of what constitutes an externalizing disorder in the DSM-5. Attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder (CD), antisocial personality disorder (ASPD), pyromania, kleptomania, intermittent explosive disorder (IED), and substance-related disorders are frequently referred to as externalizing disorders. Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder has also been posited as an externalizing disorder, but little research has examined and validated it to date given its recent addition to the DSM-5, and thus, it is not included further herein.

The role of impulsivity in the ICDs varies. Research on kleptomania and pyromania are lacking, though there is some evidence that greater kleptomania severity is tied to poor executive functioning. Trichotillomania and skin picking disorder seem to be disorders that primarily involve motor impulsivity, and will likely be classified in the DSM-V within the obsessive-compulsive and related disorders category. Pathological gambling, in contrast, seems to involve many diverse aspects of impulsivity and abnormal reward circuitry (similar to substance use disorders) that has led to it being increasingly conceptualized as a non-substance or behavioral addiction.

Rachelle "Rae" Rogers is another fifteen-year-old who is a half-demon, able to produce and project fire from her skin, a skill which she demonstrates early on by burning Tori, one of the other girls who she does not get along with. She is revealed as a half-demon only after she has been diagnosed with pyromania at Lyle House. Rae's powers only manifest when she is especially angry. Rae develops a close friendship with Chloe, being the first she confides in, becoming her roommate after Liz leaves, and is suggested by her to escape with them.

There are many important distinctions between a child pyromaniac and a child fire-setter. In general, a fire-setter is any individual who feels the impulse to set a fire for unusual reasons. Whereas a child fire-setter is usually curious about fire and has the desire to learn more about fire, a child pyromaniac is more than just a simple fire-setter; he is one who has an unusually bizarre impulse or desire to set intentional fires. Pathological fire-setting, pyromania, is when the desire to set fires is repetitive and destructive to people or property.

Froggo Games was a video game company that published games for the Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 beginning in 1987 when those systems were no longer popular, years after the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System. Most of their games were copies of releases from other companies, and they had a reputation for extremely poor quality. Four of the ten games on the Digital Press list of the worst Atari 2600 games are from Froggo. Froggo announced four new titles for the 7800 in the 1989 May/June issue of Atarian magazine: UFO, Pyromania, Night of the Ninja, and Scorpion Squad.

Many metal artists benefited from the exposure they received on MTV, which began airing in 1981—sales often soared if a band's videos screened on the channel.Christe (2003), p. 79 Def Leppard's videos for Pyromania (1983) made them superstars in America and Quiet Riot became the first domestic heavy metal band to top the Billboard chart with Metal Health (1983). One of the seminal events in metal's growing popularity was the 1983 US Festival in California, where the "heavy metal day" featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Scorpions, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, and others drew the largest audiences of the three-day event.

During recordings of "Angelia", engineer and co-producer David Cole along with Richard Marx tried to copy the sounds of the guitars and drums that Def Leppard and producer "Mutt" Lange had used on the Hysteria and Pyromania records. During a night out with Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen, Richard Marx was told that Def Leppard attempted to emulate Angelia for a song that was to appear on the next Def Leppard album, Adrenalize. The song Def Leppard recorded with "Angelia" in mind was likely the hit "Stand Up (Kick Love Into Motion)". The production and sound of the song "Angelia" is Richard Marx's favorite from his second album, Repeat Offender.

This was followed by, Evacuate the Dancefloor, summer 2009 and the title track and first single, "Evacuate the Dancefloor", entered the UK Singles Chart at number one becoming Cascada's first number one in the UK. The following album, Original Me, became Cascada's lowest-charting album, but spawned mildly successful singles such as "Pyromania". They released a greatest-hits album after, including the singles "Summer of Love", "The Rhythm of the Night", "Glorious" which was used in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, and "The World Is in My Hands". Additionally, the group has released non-album singles, including "Blink", "Madness", "Reason", "Run", "Playground", "Back for Good" and "Like The Way I Do".

The composer Eliane Radigue has worked almost exclusively with the 2500. The ARP 2500 was extensively used by British producer David Hentschel on recordings such as "Funeral for a Friend" from Elton John's 1973 album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Jeff Wayne's 1978 multi-platinum selling album War Of the Worlds features the ARP 2500, including the sound of Martian speech. John Kongos first used one at Trident Studios in 1971, then in 1973 he acquired his own - it was used extensively at his Tapestry Studio, on his own recordings as well as Def Leppard (Pyromania), Mutt Lange, Alain Chamfort, Tony Visconti, Ryan Ulyate and many others.

Dromomania is one of a constellation of social constructs to describe contemporary nomadic lifestyles, along with bum, brodyaga, hobo, vagrant, divagate, itinerant, vagabond, transient, tramp, rogue, wanderer Within this constellation, dromomania is an extreme pathologizing term. In the early 20th century, dromomania was classified as one of a number of criminal manias, which were understood to involve irresistible compulsions to act without any motivation and sometimes against the preferences of the actor. Other such criminal manias were kleptomania, pyromania, and dipsomania. The American Prison Association described all of these criminal manias as common among people with psychopathic personalities, who were also described as lacking in purpose and ambition.

Impulse control disorder (ICDs) are a class of DSM diagnoses that do not fall into the other diagnostic categories of the manual (e.g. substance use disorders), and that are characterized by extreme difficulty controlling impulses or urges despite negative consequences. Individuals suffering from an impulse control disorder frequently experience five stages of symptoms: compelling urge or desire, failure to resist the urge, a heightened sense of arousal, succumbing to the urge (which usually yields relief from tension), and potential remorse or feelings of guilt after the behavior is completed. Specific disorders included within this category include intermittent explosive disorder, kleptomania, pathological gambling, pyromania, trichotillomania (hair pulling disorder), and impulse control disorders not otherwise specified (ICD NOS).

Tony "Bruno" Rey is a guitarist/writer/producer/arranger who has worked with bands including Saraya, the Mike Pont Band, Danger Danger, Billy Joel, Janet Jackson, Enrique Iglesias, Joan Jett & the Black Hearts, Kathie Lee, Taylor Dayne, Anastacia and Rihanna. In Danger Danger, he replaced guitarist Al Pitrelli and was replaced by guitarist Andy Timmons. He played part of the guitar work on Danger Danger's self-titled album, with his replacement Andy Timmons playing the rest of the guitar work, in much the same way that Pete Willis and his replacement Phil Collen both played guitar on Def Leppard's Pyromania. Rey started with Iglesias in 1999 and is the guitarist and musical director.

The irony, however, is lost on Butt-Head, whose own mother's promiscuity is implied in Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. In "Be All You Can Be", Butt-Head states that Beavis's father was in the Navy and told the Army recruiter that Beavis's father was "a seaman" — although this could have been a joke designed to allow Butt-Head to use the word "semen". In Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, Beavis is reunited with his biological father, who seems to exhibit the same pyromania obsession as Beavis, as well as an overt physical resemblance. He is said to be a drifter and a one-time roadie for rock band Mötley Crüe.

In the UK, where the band was all but ignored during the Pyromania era, the song hit #6 on the singles chart and broke Def Leppard into the pop mainstream across Europe. Over in America, the lead single "Women" performed poorly on the pop charts, which did not give the band much momentum when "Animal" was released afterwards in October 1987. It did reach a respectable #19, though, starting their run of ten consecutive U. S. Billboard Top 40 singles, and is still one of the most popular numbers at Def Leppard concerts today. The line in the song, "Like the restless rust, I never sleep", is a reference to Neil Young's album Rust Never Sleeps.

The beautiful Edwige Fenech plays a prostitute, Ulla, hired by the despicable Mudy (Maud de Belleroche), mother of the shy and mentally disturbed 20-year-old Tony with a tendency toward pyromania. Ulla is invited on a sea cruise where she is meant to "take" Tony's virginity. Also invited on the cruise are the provocative Paula (Rosalba Neri) and her husband Aldo (Bonuglia), who are constantly striving to win the favor of a wealthy woman in hope of obtaining an oil concession. Despite her efforts, Fenech has no effect on the young man until the yacht stops on a Mediterranean island inhabited only by a goat herder and his wife, Beba (Eva Thulin).

Beginning production work in 1976, his first major hits came in October 1978 with the UK No. 1 single "Rat Trap" for The Boomtown Rats, followed in July 1979 with AC/DC's hard rock album Highway to Hell (#8 UK, No. 17 US). He produced a total of five albums for UK band City Boy from 1976 to 1979. He produced two more albums with AC/DC, including Back in Black (1980), which is, , the second-best-selling album of all time. He also worked with rock group Foreigner with 4, and with Def Leppard on their hit albums, High 'n' Dry, Pyromania, Hysteria and Adrenalize co-writing most of the songs.

Later, the series focused on topics such as racism, kidnapping, rape, abortion, trafficking, drugs, pyromania, homosexuality, murder and other controversial topics. In autumn 2004, episode No. 1000 of the series was sent, where Toralv Maurstad made a guest appearance as Georg in some of the characters dreams. In January 2006, the series changed its genre and appeared as a more innovative and modern soap with more action, humor, sex, violence and drama. The show received massive media publicity because of its controversial content and early prime time. After the sudden change in the series, the viewing rates decreased, and this resulted as of January 2007, that the show gradually returned to its old style.

As of 2009, it had reached beyond the success of Pyromania, having been certified 12× platinum for sales of over 12 million copies in the US, and has sold over 25 million worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album spawned seven hit singles, including the US Billboard Hot 100 number one "Love Bites", alongside "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Hysteria", "Armageddon It", "Animal", "Rocket", and "Women". Their next studio album, Adrenalize (the first following the death of guitarist Steve Clark), reached number one in UK and US charts in 1992, and contained several hits, including "Let's Get Rocked" and "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad". Their 1993 album, Retro Active, contained the acoustic hit song "Two Steps Behind".

Squier began writing songs for his fourth album Signs of Life in late 1983 after finishing his first headlining arena tour. In need of as perfect "extra set of ears" as possible, he planned Robert John "Mutt" Lange - the man behind Def Leppard's wildly successful Pyromania - to produce the product. However, Lange was already reserved by The Cars and suffered a breakdown afterward, which prompted him to withdraw completely from the project and Squier to hire a new co-producer just a few days before the sessions were set to start. He then brought in famed songwriter and producer Jim Steinman, who was better known for his grandiose ballads and operatic rock n' roll songs as well as some of the biggest pop hits of early 80s.

It was also a kind of headquarters of the government troops that entered and went without encountering any resistance, during this time when encounters and scuffles were staged between the two sides and of political instability, the arises in these directions the Colonel Antonio Rojas, who was commissioned to pacify the region and to fight Remigio Tovar, who had as its center of operations the square of Mascota. Rojas, for his pyromania instincts and his great cruelty soon received the nickname "El Nero de Jalisco". On 1871 Porfirio Díaz proclaimed the Plan de la Noria and rose up against the government of Benito Juárez, being defeated by General Alatorre. After leaving Mexico City, he spent a few weeks in Talpa disguised as a bell smelter.

The band would play their first show on 18 July of the same year before recording their first EP in the fall after the departure of Kenning. The departure of Kenning having left the drummer position open, Rick Allen joined the band in November 1978 and has been the full-time drummer ever since, despite the loss of his left arm in a car accident on 31 December 1984. Def Leppard recorded On Through the Night and High 'n' Dry as the five piece of Savage, Willis, Elliott, Clark, and Allen before Pete Willis was fired in July 1982. Willis was replaced by Phil Collen of Girl, and the band went on to the most commercially successful period of their career, the releases of Pyromania and Hysteria.

Goldmine Magazine June 1993 and The Sun Newspaper January 9th 1991 Clark and Pete Willis shared lead-guitar duties, and Clark was nicknamed "The Riffmaster" due to his amazing talent and ability to come up with some of the coolest guitar riffs in modern rock.according to Joe Elliott in VH1's Classic Albums series featuring Def Leppard's Hysteria Toward the end of the Pyromania recording sessions, Pete Willis was asked to leave, and guitarist Phil Collen was recruited into the band to replace him. Clark and Collen quickly bonded, becoming close friends and leading to the trademark dual-guitar sound of Def Leppard. He and Collen became known as the "Terror Twins" in recognition of their close friendship and alcohol-fuelled antics off-stage.

Pyromania has been cited as the catalyst for the 1980s pop-metal movement. Def Leppard, however, expressed their dislike of the "glam metal" label, as they thought it did not accurately describe their look or musical style. By the release of the Hysteria album, the band had developed a distinctive sound featuring electronic drums and effects-laden guitar sounds overlaid with a multi-layered wall of husky, harmonised vocals. Def Leppard were influenced by Ian Hunter and Mott The Hoople and cited as an influence by a wide range of musical artists, including heavy metal and thrash metal bands such as Slayer, Pantera, and Metallica as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement as well as by popular contemporary artists Matt Nathanson and Taylor Swift.

The cover artwork depicted an animated picture of a huge flame emerging from the top floor of a skyscraper, with a bullseye aimed at the flame. The lead single, "Photograph", turned Def Leppard into a household name, supplanting Michael Jackson's "Beat It" as the most requested video on MTV and becoming a staple of rock radio (dominating the US Album Rock Charts for six weeks), and sparked a headline tour across the US.Bob Batchelor, Scott Stoddart The 1980s Greenwood Publishing Group, 2007 Fueled by "Photograph" and subsequent singles "Rock of Ages" and "Foolin'", Pyromania went on to sell six million copies in 1983 (more than 100,000 copies every week in that year) and was held from the top of the US charts only by Michael Jackson's Thriller.Mick Wall (2010).

Nevertheless, the album hit #5 in both US and Canada, sold approximately 3 million copies and spawned the successful radio and video hits "Emotions in Motion" and "Everybody Wants You". The latter is notable for being Squier's first #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart and holding the place for six weeks straight, more than any other number one in 1982. During the tour for Emotions in Motion, Squier and his band served as openers for the North American leg of Queen's 1982 Hot Space Tour and later, he finally became a headliner act for the first time, ascending into the heavyweight of early 1980s hard rock. British newcomer Def Leppard supported him and he helped the band break through in the US, in conjunction with the release of their breakthrough album Pyromania.

In the UK, a cover of The Kinks' "Waterloo Sunset" was included as a bonus. This foreshadowed the band's forthcoming '70s cover album Yeah! Best Of was released in a number of territories around the world, but not North America. A 2-CD best of called Rock of Ages was issued there instead. The single-CD edition of the album features material from 1981's High 'n' Dry through to 2002's X. Track distribution focuses largely on the band's late '80s/early '90s hits, with a single song from High 'n' Dry, two from Pyromania (1983), six from Hysteria (1987), four from Adrenalize (1992), two from Retro Active (1993), and a single song from X. "When Love & Hate Collide", the sole new song from 1995's greatest hits set Vault was also included.

They went on to become very successful, having sold more than 10 million certified units in Japan, and are considered one of the most influential bands in the visual kei movement. Shinya played drums for the track "Back Line Best" on his fellow Luna Sea bandmate J's 1997 debut solo album, Pyromania. Also in 1997, Shinya started a solo career where he was vocalist and drummer, his first release was the single "Rakkasuru Taiyou" released on September 26. The single "Hyôryûsha" followed on November 21, however, since the release of his first album No Sticks in December 1997, there hasn't been any material released by his solo career. After Luna Sea disbanded in 2000, Shinya worked as support drummer for musicians such as Miyavi, Nanase Aikawa, Maki Ohguro, Kyosuke Himuro, and numerous others.

Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1977 in Sheffield. Since 1992, the band has consisted of Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitars, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitars, backing vocals), which has been the band's longest running line-up. They established themselves as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement. The band's greatest commercial success came between the early 1980s and the early 1990s. Their 1981 album, High 'n' Dry, was produced by Mutt Lange, who helped them begin to define their style, and the album's main track "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" became one of the first rock videos played on MTV in 1982. The band's next studio album, Pyromania, was released in January 1983, with "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages" as the lead singles.

A new single "Pyromania" was released in 2010, continuing their new electropop sound. A second single, "Night Nurse", was released along with a music video featuring Horler in full body paint of various colors in many scenes. This single was never actually released until a year later on 16 December 2011 when it got an exclusive release in the U.S. On the weekend of 26 March, Cascada shot two music videos for the upcoming singles "San Francisco" and "Au Revoir". Both videos were directed by Lisa Mann and choreographed by Luther Brown, and both singles were featured on the album Original Me which was released on 20 June 2011 (UK), and 29 November 2011 in the US. After the release of the album, Horler posed for Playboy Deutschland in July 2011, to mixed reactions from fans and critics.

Their sound, following the success of Def Leppard's album Pyromania, became more polished with the introduction of keyboards on Play Dirty and veered toward hard rock and glam metal, losing the raw edge of their early works. "We were signed to an American label (...) there was a certain amount of pressure exerted on us to sound more American" was McAuliffe's explanation, speaking about the tame sound of the album Running Wild. The band appearance also changed to a more feminine and sophisticated style, imitating the successful American glam metal bands of the time and generally following the direction of the market. However, the failed attempt to create a niche for Girlschool in the US and the rapidly changing record market behaviour made the band change their mind and go back to their original sound, which they retain to this day.

Other singles from this album include Fever, which probably failed to chart in the UK due to no physical release. However, the single reached #18 in the Slovak Airplay Chart and did reach #3 in the UK Dance Chart, and the final single from this album was Dangerous which made it to #2 in the Dutch Tipparade (Bubbling Under) Chart and #10 in the Finnish Singles Chart, the song also had minor success in the UK charting at #67 in the UK Singles Chart. Cascada released a new single, "Pyromania", on 19 March 2010; it was the group's least successful lead single to date, failing to reach the top 40 in the UK. It did, however, reach the top 20 in France. San Francisco was the next single from the upcoming album, and continued the group's new electropop direction.

There are two slightly different versions of the music video. The uncensored version shows a knife scene at the beginning, and on the censored version of the video, it is almost the same except the knife scene is replaced with a stationary black cat among other minor bits removed. There are several appearances of a look alike impersonating Marilyn Monroe in the video, as the song is actually about the star and lead singer Joe Elliott's declaration that he does not just "want [her] photograph" but that is all he has of her, and he must admire her from afar. Arctic Monkeys performing on Orange stage at Roskilde Festival in 2007 During the 1970s David Bowie, himself of a father from Tadcaster in North Yorkshire, hired three musicians from Hull: Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Mick Woodmansey; together they recorded Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, an album considered by a magazine article as one of a 100 greatest and most influential of all time. In the following decade, Def Leppard, from Sheffield, achieved worldwide fame, particularly in America. Their 1983 album Pyromania and 1987 album Hysteria are among the most successful albums of all time. Yorkshire had a very strong post-punk scene which went on to achieve widespread acclaim and success, including: The Sisters of Mercy, The Cult, Vardis, Gang of Four, ABC, The Human League, New Model Army, Soft Cell, Chumbawamba, The Wedding Present and The Mission.

Unused promotional videos for "Wasted" and "Rock Brigade", filmed in London in the fall of 1979, surfaced on YouTube in 2009 when they were uploaded by the director of the clips. This was the first time the Tauber version of "Rock Brigade" appeared anywhere, which leaves "Glad I'm Alive" as the only song from those sessions to remain hidden. All four songs, however, are included in the box set The Early Years 79–81 which was released on March 20, 2020. Although Def Leppard has all but disowned On Through the Night, “Wasted” has nonetheless been played live occasionally on some recent tours (since 1999) to the present – being the only song from that album apart from six performances of “Rock Brigade” in 2005 and 2013 to be performed since the completion of the Pyromania tour.

Psychopathology and related behavioral abnormalities are typically seen in LFS, and they may be considered in the diagnosis of the disorder. The most common of these in LFS is an autism-like spectrum disorder, and LFS is considered as one of a number of genetic disorders associated with autism. Additional alterations of psychopathology with behavioral manifestations that have been observed in LFS include: psychotic behavior, schizophrenia, hyperactivity and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, aggression, oppositional defiant disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, extreme shyness, learning disability, cognitive impairment, short-term memory deficit, low frustration tolerance, social dysfunction, lack of impulse control, eating disorder and associated malnutrition, attributed to psychogenic loss of appetite; and pyromania. While psychiatric conditions like these are to be expected with LFS, there have also been cases of the disorder with some preservation of mental and behavioral abilities, such as problem solving, reasoning and normal intelligence.

His second album Kongos made the top 30 of the UK Albums Chart, but subsequent singles, "Great White Lady" (1972), "Ride the Lightning" (1975) and "Higher than God's Hat" (1975), did not chart. "Tomorrow I'll Go", which appeared on Kongos, was covered by New Zealand band The Human Instinct on their 1970 album Stoned Guitar, while "Ride The Lightning" (1975) was covered by Sylvie Vartan as "Qu'est-ce qui fait pleurer les blondes?" in France and was No. 1 on that chart for several weeks in 1976. "He's Gonna Step on You Again" is cited in the Guinness Book of Records as being the first song to ever use a sample. Kongos continued to work in his own London studio as a record producer, sound engineer, TV jingle and theme music composer, and songwriter, as well as handling the programming of the Fairlight CMI synthesizer on Def Leppard's 1983 album, Pyromania.
