Light-Contact made its W.A.K.O. championships debut in Mestre. It involved more physicality than Semi-Contact but less so than Full-Contact, with emphasis put on speed, skill and technique over power. It was also seen as a stepping stone for fighters who were looking to make the transaction from Semi to Full-Contact. More information on Light- Contact rules can be found of the W.A.K.O. website, although be aware that the rules may have changed since 1988.

Ro-101 got underway in company with the submarine from Rabaul on 9 February 1943 for her second war patrol, again bound for a patrol area east of Port Moresby. On 22 February 1943, her navigator sighted a 4,000-gross register ton steamer. After viewing the steamer through the periscope, Ro-101′s commanding officer concluded that the steamer was a Q-ship, an antisubmarine decoy ship armed with hidden guns and depth charges. He decided to wait for dark to attack, but when the ship put on speed and headed off in the direction of Port Moresby, Ro-101 lost contact with it.

While patrolling near the entrance to Daito Wan on the western coast of Korea on 18 April, she sank one small freighter with gunfire and damaged another. Off the China coast on 22 April, Trutta narrowly escaped damage when an enemy float plane dropped two bombs which exploded over the diving submarine. Shortly after midnight three days later, as Trutta patrolled west of Quelpart Island, lookouts on the submarine's bridge were startled to see a torpedo pass astern. As Trutta put on speed and turned parallel to the torpedo's wake, another torpedo passed by her port side moving from stern to bow, a sinister reminder that she was not alone in the Yellow Sea.

July 2, 1950, at 06:15 of the morning South Korean Support Group (cruisers USS Juneau & HMS Jamaica, frigate HMS Black Swan) sighted a North Korean Navy convoy (four torpedo boats, two motor gunboats and ten motor trawlers loaded with ammunition) heading north from Chumunjin. As the cruisers put on speed to intercept the enemy, the torpedo boats, with more bravery than discretion, turned to attack. Fire was opened at 11,000 yards, and by the time the range had closed to 4,000 one PT had been sunk ("No 24") and one stopped ("No 22"), a third was heading for the beach ("No 23"), and the fourth ("No 21") was escaping seaward. The final score of the engagement was three torpedo boats and both gunboats destroyed, and two prisoners taken by HMS Jamaica.
