The government also works towards providing relief through programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) which was formerly known to the public as Food Stamps.

Every holiday season, the SPCA gathers pet food, supplies, and toys for individuals and families in need who have pets. The donations are then distributed by The Salvation Army in Monterey County. Many needy families in the community are pet owners who love their pets but are having a difficult time providing food for their families. The partnership assures food for the whole family during the holiday season and reduces the risk of families being forced to give up their pets because they can't afford to feed them.

Since effective altruism aims for cause neutrality (see above), it is in principle open to helping in whichever causes (problems) allow people to do the most good, impartially considered. Such causes may include, for example, providing food for the hungry, protecting endangered species, mitigating climate change, reforming immigration policy, researching cures for illnesses, preventing sexual violence, alleviating poverty, eliminating factory farming, or averting nuclear warfare. Its distribution included Upper Klamath Lake, its tributaries, and most of the creeks that drain into it, as well as the Lost River, Tule Lake, Lower Klamath Lake, Sheepy Lake, and Clear Lake. It was historically abundant in the basin. Ellis Joseph's 17.75 acre estate 'Highfield Hall', with its 12-room house and offices, had been his home since November 1918. Highfield Hall probably had a small farm, and it had been used, before it was owned by Ellis Joseph, to run cattle and raise poultry. The estate probably was at least partially self-sufficient in providing food for the animals and birds Ellis Joseph kept there.

However, after the capture of the Convention Army resources turned scarce and the federal government had to rely on state governments to provide for prisoners of war. Tuntian, often rendered as "[military] agricultural colonies," were self-sustaining farming communities created for the purpose of providing food for the military. Generally consisting of displaced peoples, refugees, and bandits, tenants of a tuntian were expected to protect themselves in times of emergencies and in return were exempt from corvée labour. Unlike the tuntian system of the Han dynasty, which was generally hands off, the tuntian policy of the Three Kingdoms era was to directly provide them with supplies and material assistance. The policy of tuntian was implemented primarily by Cao Cao, Tao Qian, and Gongsun Zan.

They have occupied territory in this area for thousands of years, and still live on land at the mouth of the river. Dead salmon and eggs The salmon runs provided a valuable food source for many animals, such as black bear, coyotes, gray wolves, bald eagles, raccoons, and dozens of others. In addition, salmon carcasses littered stream banks during prime fall and spring spawning, providing food for scavengers and decaying and enriching the soil. In the Elwha River basin, salmon once contributed over 300 tons of phosphorus and nitrogen every year, via decaying carcasses and the scat of predators and scavengers.

With the outbreak of the Great Turkish War, the Austrian Empire sought allies in Southeastern Europe. On November 1, or November 6, General Enea Silvio Piccolomini reached Prizren, where he according to sources was received by "an archbishop and a patriarch". This has been interpreted by some Yugoslav historians as being Albanian Catholic Pjetër Bogdani, Archbishop of Skopje, and Arsenije III Čarnojević, the Serbian Patriarch. Those sources claim that Piccolomini consulted with Patriarch Arsenije and Archbishop Bogdani about the organization of newly recruited rebels and providing food for them, and Raspasani helped Piccolomini a lot, as the negotiations went through him as he knew Latin and Italian.

The slaughter of pilot whales in the Faroe Islands is allowed and has been practiced for providing food for free to the local communities of the Faroe Islands as far back as 1298, as regulations for slaughtering of whales was mentioned in the Sheep Letter. In 1985, Sea Shepherd diverted several pods of pilot whales away from the hunting grounds. The authorities told Sea Shepherd that the killing would be halted for the remainder of the season if Sea Shepherd left, saving 500 pilot whales. In 1986, Sea Shepherd went to document and obstruct whaling in the Faroe Islands.

Families Forward is an Irvine, California based nonprofit organization founded in 1984 by a group of community members in collaboration with the City of Irvine and the Irvine Company, with the goal of providing affordable housing for homeless and at-risk families. The agency began with only five apartment units and one part-time counselor. Families Forward has grown and now has housing units across Orange County, a food pantry providing food for nearly 7,000 people per year, and offers services to prevent homelessness in Orange County, California. Families Forward's mission is to help families in need achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through housing, counseling, education and other support services.

In collaboration with the local Meals on Wheels organization, the SPCA of Monterey County runs a program which lifts the financial burden of providing food for pets for people who are physically impaired or on a fixed income. Volunteers deliver pet food provided by the SPCA and its supporters in addition to the standard food delivery. The program relieves the concern that people who receive food from Meals On Wheels will not feel the need to share it with their pets. BestPet Care & Supplies in Pacific Grove, Harden Ranch Veterinary Hospital in Salinas and The Feed Trough in Salinas also help to support this program.

In 1899 it was reported Besley had spent $40,000 () of Galvin's money in Dawson City, Yukon, Alaska Territory providing food for a woman named "Lucille". Later, Galvin had to settle a claim made by Dawson Café Royal restaurant owner Jack Timmons for Besley's having ordered $1,435.00 () for "female friends". The headquarters of the Trading & Exploring Co., Dawson City, Yukon, Alaska Territory, 1899Galvin's North British American Trading and Transportation Co. went bankrupt and was succeeded by the Trading & Exploration Co., chartered in London, England in 1899. The Trading & Exploration Co. invested power of attorney in William White and sent him from London to investigate the company's finances in Dawson City.

During this time, Duffy would assist the impoverished Gabriel by providing transportation, paying bills, and providing food for him and his wife, but realized that there were many more musicians like Gabriel who were in need of the same assistance, and who were still capable and willing to record and perform. In 1994, Tim and his wife, Denise Duffy founded the Music Maker Relief Foundation. Through this foundation, Gabriel was able to perform in professional venues, including the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, and made several trips to Europe. Gabriel died on April 2, 1996, and is buried with his guitar (per his request to Duffy) at the Evergreen Cemetery in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Somewhere around 1 to 2 billion years ago, a free-living cyanobacterium entered an early eukaryotic cell, either as food or as an internal parasite, but managed to escape the phagocytic vacuole it was contained in. The two innermost lipid-bilayer membranes that surround all chloroplasts correspond to the outer and inner membranes of the ancestral cyanobacterium's gram negative cell wall, and not the phagosomal membrane from the host, which was probably lost. The new cellular resident quickly became an advantage, providing food for the eukaryotic host, which allowed it to live within it. Over time, the cyanobacterium was assimilated, and many of its genes were lost or transferred to the nucleus of the host.

Canada has also become an integral part of the fight against the Axis, building up its defences, keeping the Atlantic sea routes free for shipping and providing food for the beleaguered Great Britain.

The newly elected matai is expected to host a village-wide feast where he is tasked with providing food for the meal, as well as getting the other matais gifts. Once this task is completed the newly elected matai is officially considered the matai of his household and will hold the position for the rest of his life, should he lead correctly. About a dozen families from Sydney were settled close to the station as a farming community, providing food for the station, growing crops and raising sheep and cattle. Loch Maree is of international importance for its special wildlife and biodiversity, and is the site of one of the largest breeding concentrations of black-throated diver in Great Britain. Sea trout and salmon are an important part of the loch's ecosystem, providing food for black-throated diver and otter (Lutra lutra): juvenile trout can be an important part of the diet of black-throated diver. Until recently, thousands of adult sea trout (seagoing brown trout Salmo trutta) and salmon (Salmo salar) returned to the loch from the sea every summer. Sea trout gathered in huge numbers in certain bays, providing some of the most exciting angling in Scotland for which the loch had an international reputation.

On the south slope of St Helen's there is an early medieval religious complex that is thought to be the remains of St Elidius Hermitage, an 8th-century chapel lived in by Saint Lide (also known as Elid or Elidius) which is also Saint Lide alleged burial place. Archaeological excavations suggest that the site developed from a solitary hermit site, with a single round hut and oratory, to a communal hermitage with a number of rectangular huts for individual accommodation, surrounding the church and oratory buildings. Five graves from the early hermitage were also excavated east of the living section. A field system was also present providing food for the Hermitage/Chapel, and later the Pest House residents.

It was a collaboration with John Stone and Lorene Cary under the auspices of the Fairmont Park Art Association Living in a Spirit House is nine by nine feet, fully furnished room/installation created in 1993. As most seedheads fail however when biocontrol pests have established themselves, the plants will bloom ever more abundantly in an attempt to replace the destroyed seedheads, to the point where they exhaust their resources in providing food for the pests (seeds), bees (pollen) and humans (honey). Output of allelopathic compounds is also liable to be reduced under such conditions - the plant has to compromise between allocating energy to reproduction and defense. The centre of the city is in turn inhabited by aggressive youngsters, their main occupation being apparently struggling between themselves and hunting for the individuals of the aforementioned suburban mob, in order to just kill them. Both the mob and the youngsters, as observed by the protagonist, are males only. Despite that, the city is fully automated, robots cleaning the streets and facilities, fixing any damaged equipment, providing food for humans and (as it gradually turns out) for rats, which occupy lower parts of the city and are intelligent enough to use underground trains or food-providing machines. Initially, the aim of the protagonist is to collect information about the Earth's situation, share it with the rest of the "Helios"' crew who are remaining on the Moon, and arrange an escape also for them.

The waterproof garments, made by the Alutiiq women, were given to the Alutiiq men as payment for the furs brought to the Russian fur traders. The Orthodox mission in Russian America was authorized by Catherine II in 1793, and then was established on Kodiak Island in 1794 by a group of monks from the Valaam Monastery in St. Petersburg. The Russian fur traders radically expanded sea otter hunting operations and forced the Alutiiq men to hunt for longer periods of time at increasingly distant areas as the local population of fur- bearing animals was extinguished. The Alutiiq suffered starvation and physical separation of families because of the able-bodied men hunting and trapping furs rather than providing food for the women, young, old, and sick as they had done traditionally.

They encourage more young women to get involved in activism, particularly African American women. The founders of MAU wanted to get millennials more involved in activism, and believe that using means of communication that millennials use, such as Twitter, would have a larger impact on the issues they wanted to campaign about. Before the Industrial Revolution, much of the large parish was farmland, providing food for the City of London and surrounding population centres; and with particular specialisms, such as growing lavender on Lavender Hill (nowadays denoted by the road of the same name), asparagus (sold as "Battersea Bundles") or pig breeding on Pig Hill (later the site of the Shaftesbury Park Estate). The Red Cross Society began work almost immediately upon the declaration of war. From initial knitting circles, the scope of Red Cross support expanded rapidly to include teaching handcrafts to convalescent soldiers, mending hospital clothes and providing food and other necessary supplies to local and overseas military hospitals. On Friday, March 28, 2014, University of Southern California's Zeta Phi Rho has once again taking Zeta Phi "Skid" Rho to another level, by making 17,341 sandwiches under one hour, and breaking a Guinness world record at the same time. With the help of the SEC committee, USC students and other organizations that have volunteered, participants are grateful to be a part of the event. The fraternity holds various philanthropies for the community such as SmokeOut At The Beach (Alpha chapter, 2007) in an effort to raise awareness to the dangers of smoking, "Boot Camp" (Zeta chapter, 2010) a philanthropy dedicated to supporting children diagnosed with HIV, and "Zeta Phi Skid Rho" (Gamma chapter, 2001–Present) providing food for the homeless in the Skid Row area located in downtown Los Angeles. "Zeta Phi Skid Rho," organized by the brothers at USC Gamma chapter, annually results in the participation of well over one hundred students and dozens of student organizations from many Southern California universities.

As explained in the Form 1023, these facilities will provide classes for Israelis and Palestinians in peaceful cooperation to develop their vocational, artistic and other skills. Vocational trainings may include professional training workshops to teach locals the fundamentals of various trades such as carpentry, blacksmithing, plumbing, traditional and modern baking techniques, food service, computer science, textiles and sewing, ceramics, photography, newspaper production, and theater. IPCEE will either provide funds to build, furnish, equip and staff these facilities or share the costs with other non -governmental organizations (NGOs.) IPCEE may provide grants to both public and private schools and universities in Israel and the West Bank and may make grants directly to the Israeli government and the Palestinian National Authority to fund the construction of new schools. IPCEE plans on providing food for schools by making grants to the Ministries of Education and the Ministries of Health (or their equivalents) in the Israeli government and the Palestinian National Authority.
