The long anticipated construction began in early 2008, despite a last-ditch attempt by Greenpeace to block the project, and the bridge was opened to traffic on May 21, 2011, at 12:30pm (EDT).

SR 259 splits off from I-215 as a full freeway and continues north, interchanging with Highland Avenue. SR 259 then turns east and has a partial interchange with E Street before merging with SR 210. SR 259 thus provides a route for traffic to move between I-215 northbound and SR 210 eastbound as well as from SR 210 westbound to I-215 southbound; the interchange between SR 210 and I-215 does not provide these movements. Signage along the route either mention I-215 south or SR 210 east instead of SR 259, including the exits from SR 210 and I-215, respectively, the freeway entrances from Highland Avenue, and an overhead guide sign along northbound SR 259.

Kaikorai Valley in 1926 Kaikorai Valley is a long broad valley which runs through the west of the New Zealand city of Dunedin, to the west of the city centre. It is the valley of a small stream, the Kaikorai Stream, which runs from northeast to southwest down the length of the valley. The valley provides a route into central Dunedin (Kaikorai Valley Road) which avoids the steep climb and descent over Lookout Point into Caversham, instead allowing for a gradual climb to the top of Stuart Street at Roslyn before a steep drop into the heart of the city. The valley contains several suburbs, largely isolated from the city centre by the ridge which forms the valley's eastern edge.

Three significant glaciers originate on the slopes of the mountain: The Glacier de Bionnassay, the Glacier de Bionnassay Italien, and the Glacier de Miage. The Glacier de Bionnassay is the most obvious glacial feature, arising on the north and north-west slopes of the Aiguille de Bionnassay as well as from the western side of the Dôme du Goûter and the Aiguille du Goûter. It descends for approximately 4.5 km, flowing north-westwards before turning north at the foot of the Nid d'Aigle to end some distance above the settlement of Bionnassay, continuing as the Torrent de Bionnassay. This hanging glacier on the north-west face of the Aiguille de Bionnassay provides a route of access for mountaineers with ice- climbing skills.

An obvious reaction is their tendency to hydrolyse to the corresponding sulfonic acid: :C6H5SO2Cl + H2O → C6H5SO3H + HCl These compounds react readily with nucleophiles other than water, like alcohols and amines (see Hinsberg reaction). If the nucleophile is an alcohol the product is a sulfonate ester, if it is an amine the product is a sulfonamide. Using sodium sulfite as the nucleophilic reagent, sulfonyl chlorides convert to the sulfinate salts, such as C6H5SO2Na. Chlorosulfonated alkanes are susceptible to crosslinking via reactions with various nucleophiles. Sulfonyl chlorides readily undergo Friedel–Crafts reactions with arenes giving sulfones, for example: :RSO2Cl + C6H6 → RSO2C6H5 \+ HCl The desulfonation of arylsulfonyl chlorides provides a route to aryl chlorides: :ArSO2Cl → ArCl + SO2 1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene is made industrially in this way.

The canal is well connected, with links to the Trent and Mersey Canal via the Middlewich Branch to the east, the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal via the former Birmingham and Liverpool Junction Canal to the south, and provides a route to the Llangollen Canal, from which the Montgomeryshire Canal, which is the subject of an ongoing restoration scheme, can be accessed. Boaters can also access the River Dee at Chester, although advance notice must be given, and the river is only accessible for four hours either side of high tide. At Ellesmere Port, the canal has connected to the Manchester Ship Canal since its opening in 1894. For many leisure cruisers, the requirements of the ship canal company for taking small boats onto a large commercial waterway are too daunting, and Ellesmere Port acts as the end of their journey.

Toxic accumulation of divalent metals, especially iron and/or manganese, are frequently discussed aetiological factors in a variety of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and multiple sclerosis. DMT1 may be the major transporter of manganese across the blood brain barrier and expression of this protein in the nasal epithelium provides a route for direct absorption of metals into the brain. DMT1 expression in the brain may increase with age, increasing susceptibility to metal induced pathologies. DMT1 expression is found to be increased in the substantia nigra of Parkinson's patients and in the ventral mesencephalon of animal models intoxicated with 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) - a neurotoxin widely used experimentally to produce Parkinsonian symptoms. The DMT1 encoding gene SLC11A2 is located on the long arm of chromosome 12 (12q13) close to susceptibility regions for Alzheimer's disease and restless legs syndrome.

On 9 July 2012, the 14-year rule (paragraph 276B(i)(b)) (which provided a route to settlement on the grounds of long residence, lawful or unlawful) was withdrawn. Instead, the new Immigration Rules provided that at least 20 years' continuous residence, lawful or unlawful, would, subject to criminality and other criteria, normally be necessary to establish a claim to remain in the UK on the basis of the Article 8 right to respect for private life. (The 10-year rule (paragraph 276B(i)(a)), which provides a route to settlement on the grounds of continuous lawful residence in the UK of at least 10 years, was unaffected and remains in place). ILR may also be curtailed by the Home Secretary for reasons of national security or if the holder of the ILR commits an offence that could lead to their deportation from the United Kingdom.

Within Bath the A36 acts as a ring road on the southern side of the river from the junction with the A4 at Newbridge to the west, with another link to the A4 on the eastern side at Cleveland Bridge, which also provides a route to the A46 and M4 motorway and is highly congested. Plans to alleviate this by bypassing Bathampton have long been proposed and several properties have remained derelict for many decades due to indecision. Part of the proposal bypassing Batheaston between the A4 and A46 was built at enormous expense, but despite crossing to the south side of the river it was never linked to the A36 on either side of Bathampton, therefore defeating much of its intended purposes. On its way south from Bath, the A36 encounters difficult terrain at Limpley Stoke before passing a number of towns and a city, including Frome, Warminster, Wilton and Salisbury in Wiltshire, and Totton in Hampshire, on the western outskirts of Southampton, where it joins the A35.
