The telescope is optically designed to be a prime focus telescope using a segmented primary mirror of 60 1.44m segments, delivering a circumscribed 11.25 meter aperture, and with a five element widefield corrector providing 1.5 square degrees of corrected field of view at the prime focus optical focal surface of the telescope. Compensation for atmospheric dispersion is an integral function of the widefield corrector optics. MSE's 11.25 meter aperture diameter necessitates replacing Canada- France-Hawai‘i Telescope's enclosure, designed for a 3.6 meter aperture telescope, with one that provides a suitable enclosure aperture while still being of a mass that the current building can support.

The mirror weighs 4361 kg (9614 lb), and is supported by a polar disc/fork type equatorial mounting. The total weight of the telescope is around 90 tons. The f/3.29 Prime focus, used with the WFC, allows an unvignetted field of view of 40 arcminutes (approximately 0.3 square degrees).

David R. Mills (born 1946) is a researcher who has been active in solar energy research in Australia since 1975, working at the University of Sydney as a Principal Research Fellow till 2005. Mills specializes in solar thermal electricity development, which he believes is one cornerstone of the future sustainable energy economy. His work is predominately in the field of solar spectrum selective materials and non-imaging optics. The prime focus of his research is planning 24-hour solar plants to eliminate coal use.

A room at the base of the alidade holds the motor power supplies, antenna control system, and cryogenic compressors. The telescope will ultimately have 0.3–115 GHz (1 metre to 3mm) continuous frequency coverage. Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) were created in 2006 through a proclamation of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the category of institutes of national importance, to promote quality education and research in basic sciences. Soon after the announcement, two of these institutes at Pune and Kolkata, respectively, were started in 2006. This was followed by institutes at Mohali (2007), Bhopal and Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015) and Berhampur (2016). The film was initially planned to release the film on 5 April 2018 though they pushed the release date to year's end since their prime focus during the time was aligned to marketing of Vakin Loabin (2018). However, the release date was later confirmed to be 4 February 2019 citing "political instability" during late 2018. Goh Raalhu received mixed reviews from critics. The computer- generated dropships had some of Imageworks' heaviest detail given the proximity of the actors to the aircraft in the camp scenes; the effects artists wanted to make sure the ships broke apart in a realistic way during the crashes. Prime Focus World converted the film into 3D in post-production using the same tools for the stereoscopy as in World War Z and Gravity. The company made use of scans of the cast's faces from film production while vendor Nvizible helped the company convert the hologram table used by Dr. Carter.
The Canada–France–Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) is located near the summit of Mauna Kea mountain on Hawaii's Big Island at an altitude of 4,204 meters (13,793 feet), part of the Mauna Kea Observatory. Operational since 1979,Canada France Hawaii Telescope the telescope is a Prime Focus/Cassegrain configuration with a usable aperture diameter of . CFHT currently planning a refurbishment to the facility in the 2020s. The facility will be reconstructed with a new 11-m telescope to produce the Maunakea Spectroscopic Explorer, retaining the same base building and infrastructure.
FMOS – Fibre multi-object spectrograph Fibre multi-object spectrograph (FMOS) is facility instrument for the Subaru telescope on Mauna Kea in Hawaii. The instrument consists of a complex fibre-optic positioning system mounted at the prime focus of the telescope. Fibres are then fed to a pair of large spectrographs, each weighing nearly 3000 kg. The instrument will be used to look at the light from up to 400 stars or galaxies simultaneously over a field of view of 30 arcminutes (about the size of the full moon on the sky).
As with the filming crew, the post- production crew of the film included both Indian and overseas personnel. Prime Focus carried out the film's 3-D conversion, with London-based colorist Richard Fearon performing the color grading. Red Chillies VFX partnered with a number of visual effects studios around the world, and undertook the incorporation of the visual effects under the supervision of Jeffrey Kleiser. Nvidia provided the information technology–based software utilised for the effects, while Edwark Quirk supervised over the computer-generated imagery used in the film.
The Enchanting Verses is a poetry e-magazine based in West Bengal, India. Since 2008 the magazine has published three to four issues per year featuring works of both new and established poets. The magazine also publishes translations, book reviews, essays on poetry and research articles. In March 2015, The Independent Newspaper mentioned the Enchanting Verses as a leading Indian electronic literary review whose prime focus is the world’s contemporary poetry and the ANI News mentioned it as a prominent international e-magazine from India later in the same month.

In 1721 he showed the first parabolic Newtonian reflector to the Royal Society. It had a diameter, focal length speculum metal objective mirror.
The telescope is a -diameter Prime focus reflector and images onto a CMOS color sensor with 1.3 million pixels. The image is transmitted to a small screen in an eyepiece also mounted on the telescope. An electronic connection to a computer (smartphone, pad, or laptop) is required to make astronomical observations from the telescope. The digital technology allows multiple images to be stacked while subtracting the noise component of the observation producing images of Messier objects and faint stars as dim as an apparent magnitude of 15 with consumer- grade equipment.
The spacecraft used S-band for uplinked commands and downlinked telemetry, through dual redundant 5-watt transceivers. The spacecraft used X-band for science return (downlink only), using dual 20 W TWTAs until the failure of the last remaining TWTA in January 2008. Both bands used the dish antenna with prime-focus feeds, unlike the Cassegrain feeds of most other spacecraft dishes. Dual tape recorders, each of approximately 45-megabit capacity, stored science data between the nominal eight-hour communications sessions during the prime and extended mission phases.

Prana produces stories and CG imagery for US domestic, international and Indian domestic Bollywood markets, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai for Dharma Productions, as well as the French animated film Why I Did (Not) Eat My Father. On March 29, 2013, Prana Studios affiliate 34x118 Holdings, LLC won the bidding of Rhythm and Hues Studios in a bankruptcy auction against other visual effects/CGI animation studios, Prime Focus and Brave Vision. Another contender, Psyop, was eliminated early in the process.

LEDA 74886, also known by its 2MASX designation 2MASX J03404323-1838431, is a dwarf galaxy with a rare rectangular shape. It is located at a distance of about in the Eridanus constellation. The galaxy was detected in a wide field of view image taken by the Subaru Telescope using the Subaru Prime Focus Camera (Suprime-Cam). Using the Keck Telescope, a thin disc with a side on orientation was confirmed to be lurking at the center of LEDA 74886, and spinning at a speed of 33 km/s at the orbital radius of half a kpc.

The Hopkins Ultraviolet Telescope (HUT) was a space telescope designed to make spectroscopic observations in the far-ultraviolet region of the electromagnetic spectrum. It was flown into orbit on the Space Shuttle and operated from the Shuttle's payload bay on two occasions: in December 1990, as part of Shuttle mission STS-35, and in March 1995, as part of mission STS-67. HUT was designed and built by a team based at Johns Hopkins University, led by Arthur Davidsen. Cleaning of the South African Large Telescope mirrors with dry ice Both SALT and HET have an unusual design for an optical telescope. Similar to the Keck Telescopes, the primary mirror is composed of an array of mirrors designed to act as a single larger mirror; however, the SALT mirrors produce a spherical primary, rather than the paraboloid shape associated with a classical Cassegrain telescope. Each SALT mirror is a 1-meter hexagon, and the array of 91 identical mirrors produces a hexagonal-shaped primary that is 11 by 9.8 meters in size. To compensate for the spherical primary, the telescope has a four-mirror spherical aberration corrector (SAC) that provides a corrected, flat focal plane with a field of view of 8 arcminutes at prime focus.

An additional flat fold mirror allows the use of any one of two Nasmyth platforms or two folded Cassegrain stations, each with 5 arcmin fields of view. The telescope sometimes operates in a wide-field prime focus configuration, in which case the secondary is removed and a three element field-correcting lens inserted, which provides an effective f/2.8 focus with a 60 arcmin field of view (40 arcmin unvignetted).
