Northampton power station (also known as Nunn Mills power station or Hardingstone Junction power station) was an electricity generating station in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England, which began operation for the Northampton Electric Light and Power Company Limited (NELPC) in 1919 and generated power until closure in 1976. The redundant power station buildings were used as a grain storage facility in the late 1970s. Using both the road and rail facilities on site for transportation of grain. The power station was finally demolished in around 2015 to make way for the relocation of the University of Northampton close to the town centre.
Construction of the new power station began in 2013 and is due to complete in 2016. The new power station will generate three times the energy as the old coal-fired power station, will occupy only half of the space of the old site and will emit only half of the carbon dioxide. Roosecote Power Station was a gas-fired, originally coal-fired power station, situated in the Roosecote district of Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria, North West England. This was the site of Otahuhu A power station (diesel fueled open cycle gas turbines, commissioned in 1968) and Otahuhu B power station (380MW gas fueled combined cycle plant, commissioned in 2000).

Kemerköy power station is a 630 MW coal-fired power station in Turkey in Kemerköy, Muğla, completed in 1985, which burns lignite mined locally. The plant is owned by Limak- IC İçtaş and in 2018 received 70 million lira capacity payments. The area is a sulfur dioxide air pollution hotspot and the air pollution caused by Kemerköy and neighboring Yatağan power station and Yeniköy power station is estimated to have caused 45,000 premature deaths. The plant would have to be upgraded to meet the 2020 emission standard.

The government of Uganda commissioned a study, titled Project for Master Plan Study on Hydropower Development in the Republic of Uganda, that was conducted by Electric Power Development Company Limited and Nippon Koei Company Limited, which was funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in 2009. An upgrade in 2008 increased the installed capacity of the power station from 150 MW to 180 MW. The dam's power station is located about to the southeast near Jablanica and discharges back into the Neretva River. It contains six 30 MW Francis turbine-generators for an installed capacity of 180 MW. The difference in elevation between the reservoir and power station afford a hydraulic head (water drop) of . Barking Power Station refers to a series of power stations at various sites within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in east London. Yeniköy power station is a 420 MW coal-fired power station in Turkey in Yeniköy, Muğla built in the late 20th century, which burns lignite mined locally. The plant is owned by Limak- IC İçtaş and in 2018 received 47 million lira capacity payments and 63 million in 2019. The area is a sulfur dioxide air pollution hotspot and the air pollution caused by Yeniköy and neighboring Yatağan power station and Kemerköy power station is estimated to have caused 45,000 premature deaths. The plant would have to be upgraded to meet the 2020 emission standard.
The replacement Pembroke Power Station under construction in 2011 The Pembroke Power Station was completed in 1968 for CEGB and together with Marchwood, near Southampton, was the largest oil fired power station to be built. The first sod for the power station was dug by the Mayor of Accrington on 31st January 1948. Following nationalisation of the electricity industry from 1 April 1948 ownership of the power station was vested in the British Electricity Authority (BEA) which continued construction of the power station, and which first became operational in 1952. Eggborough Power Station The village is the site of the coal-fired Eggborough Power Station, built in the 1960s and once owned by British Energy. Carmarthan Bay power station was planned by the Carmarthen Bay Power Station Company Limited from 1946. The site was selected for the availability of coal from the Gwendraeth Valley and the supply of seawater for condensing steam in the plant. Boxberg Power Station (in German commonly referred as Kraftwerk Boxberg) is a lignite-fired power station with three units at Boxberg, near Weißwasser, Saxony, Eastern Germany. Since the late 1990s, it has a capacity of 1,900 MW. In 2001, it was acquired by Vattenfall Europe, a subdivision of Vattenfall. The power station was sold by Vattenfall to the Czech energy group EPH and its financial partner PPF Investments on 30September 2016.
The Kettle Generating Station, also known as Kettle Rapids Generating Station, is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power station on the Lower Nelson River in Manitoba, Canada. It is located northwest of Gillam. As part of the Nelson River Hydroelectric Project, the power station was completed in 1973 and the last generator commissioned in 1974. It has an installed capacity of and is the second largest power station in Manitoba.

The Gilgel Gibe II Power Station is a hydroelectric power station on the Omo River with a power output of 420 Megawatt (MW). The power station receives water from a tunnel entrance on the Gilgel Gibe River in a run-of-river scheme. The tunnel entrance is sitting downstream of the Gilgel Gibe I Dam also on the Gilgel Gibe River with which it forms a hydroelectric cascade.
Trawsfynydd nuclear power station () is a former Magnox power station situated in Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, Wales. The plant, which became operational in 1965, was the only nuclear power station in the UK to be built inland, with cooling water that was taken from the man-made Llyn Trawsfynydd reservoir. It was closed in 1991. Work to completely decommission the site is expected to take almost 100 years.

Hartlepool power station is a nuclear power station situated on the northern bank of the mouth of the River Tees, south of Hartlepool in County Durham, North East England. The station has a net electrical output of 1,190 megawatts, which is 2% of Great Britain's peak electricity demand of 60 GW. Electricity is produced through the use of two advanced gas-cooled reactors (AGR). Hartlepool was only the third nuclear power station in the United Kingdom to use AGR technology. It was also the first nuclear power station to be built close to a major urban area.
In March 2013, the Virginia-based owners Dominion announced that Equipower would purchase the power station. The purchase was closed in August 2013 as part of the $650 million deal that Energy Capital Partners took over three power plants, including two other plants in Illinois, the natural gas-fired Elwood Power Station and the coal-fired Kincaid Power Station. During the period of magistrate Wang Chien-fa's term (2005-2014), county council member Chen Hai-shan () proposed to open a new road from Xincun Road () to Haipu Road (), running through Longgui Park and the nearby abandoned Taiwan Power Company power station. In 2015, Ou Zhi-cheng (), the Penghu power station plant manager, proposed preservation of the power station buildings. Chen Hai-shan rejected this, saying "There is not any reason to preserve Magong power station because I cannot tell any kind feature of it." He insisted on demolishing the plant and Longgui Park for construction of the new road.
