California decision, which was decided on 21 June 1973, adversely affected the mainstream release of porn films, including Behind the Green Door. The Miller decision redefined obscenity from that of “utterly without socially redeeming value” to that that lacks "serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value" and substituted contemporary community standards for national standards, as some prior tests required. Miller continued to hold that obscenity was not protected by the First Amendment, which gave leeway to local judges to seize and destroy prints of films adjudged to violate local community standards. In the third season, the studio prepares to release QB for a wider audience, but Walsh seeks an injunction because the general-release version would be colorized; it is implied that he was denied the injunction. Late in the season, the gang brings back Walsh - who is working as a porn film director - to direct the shooting of Medellin after he reads the script, knowing his ability to make quality films with small budgets.

Robert Charles Kerman (December 16, 1947 – December 27, 2018), also known as R. Bolla, was an American actor who had a noted pornographic acting career during what is considered to be the "golden age" period of the porn film industry during the mid-1970s to the early/mid-1980s. He grew up in a middle- class Italian neighborhood of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. As R. Bolla (or Richard Bolla, a pun on slang terms for penis and testicles), he appeared in well over 100 pornographic films, most famously Debbie Does Dallas (1978). He was one of few adult performers to have an appreciable mainstream acting career, with his most widely known leading role being Professor Harold Monroe in the controversial horror film Cannibal Holocaust (1980).

These people, known as the Wonderland Gang, included Ron Launius and his wife Susan, Billy Deverell, Lind's 22-year- old girlfriend Barbara Richardson, and Joy Miller. When he learns that Holmes knows notorious gangster Eddie Nash, he gives Holmes a pair of stolen antique guns to take to Nash, so that Nash can fence them and the Wonderland Gang can split the loot. Holmes takes the guns to Nash, but Nash says the guns are too rare to be sold, as they would be recognized right away and everyone involved would be apprehended.

Elizabeth Moran (born 1984) is an American artist. Her work explores unseen and possibly unexplained pasts, as well as photographing what could be considered unphotographable. She has created photo series examining such subject matter as porn film sets depicted without any people present, and the exploration of supernatural activity, particularly around her mother's childhood home. Kink.com founder Peter Acworth, who welcomed Moran into the company's studios in The Armory, spoke positively of Moran's depictions, saying that her approach "shows that behind all the fantasy of the Kink is a world that is, in many ways, very normal." Her work exploring supernatural activity, which includes references to nineteenth-century “spirit photography,” caught the attention of ghost hunters who would consult with her on the possible validity of suspected photographs of ghosts.

Xuxa Park was hosted by Brazilian superstar Xuxa, an actress, model and singer that became wildly popular with young viewers through her hosting of many similar shows in both Spanish and Portuguese (plus a one- season attempt at breaking into the U.S. television market with a show in English).
