Designs are very diverse and can range from animal inspired forms, humorous themes, complex calligraphic and symbolic shapes, to the purely abstract. Painted surfaces are similarly richly diverse. Tego film is an adhesive sheet, used in the manufacture of waterproof plywood. It is applied dry and cured by heat, which allows for high-quality laminates that are free from internal voids and warping. Tego film plywoods were used in aircraft manufacture in Germany during World War II, and the loss of the plant during a 1943 bombing raid was a serious blow to several aircraft projects.

Lyle Wicks (November 1, 1912 - February 3, 2004) was a British Columbia politician. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Wicks graduated from McLean High School in Haney, British Columbia, Canada in 1930. He was one of the first employees of the BC Plywoods Company (now defunct), and in 1940 he joined the BC Electric Railway Co., where he worked as a streetcar operator within the Vancouver transit system. He joined the Social Credit movement in 1943 and became actively involved in its organisational efforts.

Marine plywood is manufactured from durable face and core veneers, with few defects so it performs longer in both humid and wet conditions and resists delaminating and fungal attack. Its construction is such that it can be used in environments where it is exposed to moisture for long periods. Each wood veneer will be from tropical hardwoods, have negligible core gap, limiting the chance of trapping water in the plywood and hence providing a solid and stable glue bond. It uses an exterior Weather and Boil Proof (WBP) glue similar to most exterior plywoods.

There is usually an odd number of plies, so that the sheet is balanced—this reduces warping. Because plywood is bonded with grains running against one another and with an odd number of composite parts, it has high stiffness perpendicular to the grain direction of the surface ply. Smaller, thinner, and lower quality plywoods may only have their plies (layers) arranged at right angles to each other. Some better- quality plywood products will by design have five plies in steps of 45 degrees (0, 45, 90, 135, and 180 degrees), giving strength in multiple axes.

NTTF Technical Training Centre, Nettur, Tellicherry (Kerala) The Nettur Technical Training Foundation - successor to the CSI Technical Training Institute - was established on 12 April 1958 as a joint venture between Church of South India and HEKS (Hilfswerk der Evangelischen Kirchen der Schweiz), Switzerland, with the objective of promoting technical education. Per HEKS website, the initial funds for the project was raised as offertory collections from the regional established churches in Zürich, Aargau, Basel and Schaffhausen. On 24 November 1959, Mr. Kaderkutty, managing director of Western India Plywoods, Valapattanam, formally inaugurated the training center at Nettur. The first batch of tool and die-maker trainees, 16 boys, were admitted in November 1959.

Softwood plywood made from spruce Plywood is a material manufactured from thin layers or "plies" of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain rotated up to 90 degrees to one another. It is an engineered wood from the family of manufactured boards which include medium- density fibreboard (MDF) and particle board (chipboard). All plywoods bind resin and wood fibre sheets (cellulose cells are long, strong and thin) to form a composite material. This alternation of the grain is called cross- graining and has several important benefits: it reduces the tendency of wood to split when nailed at the edges; it reduces expansion and shrinkage, providing improved dimensional stability; and it makes the strength of the panel consistent across all directions.
