The blue and white stripes made their first appearance in the 1885–86 season, although at that time they were of a lighter shade of blue; the navy blue stripes did not appear until after the First World War. For the regional leagues played during the Second World War, Albion were forced to switch to all-blue shirts, as rationing meant that striped material was considered a luxury.McOwan p. 56. Like all football clubs, Albion sport a secondary or "change" strip when playing away from home against a team whose colours clash with their own.

Middlesbrough's failures in front of goal meant they got a late scare as Barrow pulled a goal back after more bad defending at a set piece, but they failed to take a chance to level the game late on. A sour moment of the game saw Jérémie Aliadière injured and ruled out for two months. Boro still hadn't registered a league win by the time their fourth round tie came around, while their opponents Wolverhampton Wanderers sat top of the Football League Championship. Considering the two sides' recent form and with Middlesbrough playing away from home, many pundits were predicting a home win.
After only playing away games during the beginning of the season, the Hartford Senators returned to Hartford for a gala opening of Bulkeley Stadium in July 1927. According to the Hartford Courant, Clarkin died 6 years later on March 12, 1933. Between 1921 and 1952, the stadium was the home of Hartford's various minor league baseball teams: the Hartford Senators, Hartford Blues, Hartford Laurels, Hartford Bees, and Hartford Chiefs. In October 2013, six supporters of Charlton Athletic were sent to prison having been found guilty of racially aggravated fear of violence. The supporters had been on a train returning from a game against Fulham singing songs glorifying Gary Dobson, the racially motivated murderer of Stephen Lawrence. In March 2014, Wolverhampton Wanderers players Carl Ikeme and George Elokobi stated they were racially abused by opposition fans while playing away at Walsall. No action was taken against the club. In August 2014, Malky Mackay and Iain Moody were accused of sending each other racist, sexist and homophobic text messages.
Guru-Guru is a bald, bearded man who's always seen playing the "Song of Storms" on what looks like an organ grinder. He first appears in Ocarina of Time where he's found inside the Windmill in Kakariko Village, happily playing away. In the future, he's angry because seven years ago a young boy played the Song of Storms with a magical ocarina, messing up the windmill. Unaware Link is that same boy, he teaches him the "Song of Storms", and Link returns to the past to fulfill his predetermined destiny, draining the well to access the next dungeon.
There is much controversy over when "rolling the corner" became a celebration for all things Auburn. It is theorized by David Housel that it truly began in 1972 when Auburn's football team won a victory against rival Alabama. The rolling of the corner was initially set off by the employees that worked at Toomer's Drugs pharmacy using an inventive way to signal a victory for Auburn while playing away games; they would throw the ticker tape from the telegraph onto the power lines outside of the store. In 1984, the drug store was sold to Mark Morgan.
The 2007 Davis Cup could not have been any worse for Australia playing away in Belgium in their first tie against Belgium, losing their first two rubber Australia faced do or die in the doubles. Lleyton Hewitt was able to win both the doubles and his fourth rubber singles matches to bring the tie back to two all. Chris Guccione then lost in straight sets to put Australia in the world group playoffs. Australia drew Serbia in Serbia for their world group playoff and Serbia, having two of their singles players in the top 100, were clear favorites.
However, the next match resulted in a surprise 1–0 defeat to strugglers Sunderland, a result which ultimately proved a fatal blow to United's slim Europa League hopes. This was followed by a 3–1 win over Hull City in the club's final home match of the season, and Giggs's farewell game at Old Trafford. The final day saw United playing away at Southampton, needing a victory and for Spurs to lose against Aston Villa in order to take sixth place. Ultimately, neither result went United's way, as they only managed to draw while Spurs won.
A defeat by the Wallabies in pool play meant Ireland having to go down the play-off route. Playing away from Lansdowne Road for the first time in the competition, Ireland were beaten 28–24 by Argentina in Lens. From this nadir, however, Irish rugby improved rapidly. With the advent of professionalism, the Irish Rugby Football Union decided to convert the four representative provincial sides into de facto club sides, with the financial capacity to retain top talent in Ireland, yet retaining strong links with amateur clubs and schools to enable young talent to be brought up through the ranks.
In the course of the 2016 season, the rivalry has become highly competitive and intense with both clubs competing for the league title. On Match Day 18 (24 August 2016), the two sides met in a head-to-head match, dubbed as the "Top of the Table Clash". With JDT as the league leaders and four remaining league games, Felda United were determined to stop JDT from creating history as the first Malaysian club to win three consecutive league titles. Playing away at Felda United's home ground, JDT managed to win 3–2 in the title decider.
If the two teams scored the same number of goals on aggregate, then the team which scored more goals away from home was advancing to the next round. If both teams had scored the same number of home and away goals, then extra time was following after the end of the second leg match. If during the extra thirty minutes both teams had managed to score, but they had scored the same number of goals, then the team who scored the away goals was advancing to the next round (i.e. the team which was playing away).

Live-Evil was released by Columbia Records in 1971 to critical acclaim. In a contemporary review for Rolling Stone, Robert Palmer said "this sounds like what Miles had in mind when he first got into electric music and freer structures and rock rhythms". He called the shorter, ballad-like recordings "things of great beauty", devoid of solos but full of "stunning, bittersweet lines", while also praising each band member's soloing on the live jams: "Everybody is just playing away, there aren't any weak links, and there isn't any congestion to speak of. Miles reacts to this happy situation by playing his ass off, too".

Bata Đorđević became the new head coach, infusing new energy into the team by introducing new players Goran Rakočević and Dragiša Vučinić as Zvezda began piling up wins, both in the Yugoslav League and in European Cup Winners' Cup. Simonović, who turned 23 years of age midway through the season, became the team's number one option on offense, putting up tremendous scoring numbers. Among his many stellar displays throughout the season, one stood out — playing away at Hala sportova against the eternal crosstown rivals KK Partizan he scored 59 points. Making this feat even more impressive is the fact that the three-point shot hadn't been implemented yet.

After being relegated to the Second Division the previous season, Southampton qualified for the final instance of the short lived Texaco Cup. Alongside 15 other English teams split into four groups of Round Robin format, the top two from each group would progress to the Quarter-Finals where they would be drawn against Scottish opposition. Southampton's group consisted of West Ham, Luton Town and Leyton Orient which they topped after being undefeated. The knockout stages were a two-legged affair and Southampton were drawn a tough fixture against Rangers F.C. but managed to win convincingly 5–1 on aggregate despite playing away in front of 35,000.
Janio Posito began his career with Sporting Cristal, joining their first team in 2007. Months later he made his league debut in the Torneo Descentralizado in Round 21 (Apertura), coming on in the 86th minute in a 0–0 draw at home against Coronel Bolognesi. In his second match he recorded his first win with Cristal in Round 7 (Clausura) this time playing away to Bolognesi, which finished a 0–1 for his side. It is clear one of the judiciary was having a bad day, a very bad day, maybe finding out their mrs was playing away or maybe worse. They have taken their frustrations with their personal life out on me, such is life. When i saw the panel had a combined IQ of under 50 i knew we was fighting a losing battle.
A few weeks later on Blue House Field, Sunderland won their first game; a 4 - 0 victory over Ovingham. Blue House Field hosted its first competitive football game on December 11 1880, when Sunderland faced Burnopfield in the Northumberland and Durham Challenge Cup, a precursor to the Durham Challenge Cup and the only opportunity for football teams in the North East to play competitive games at that time. The game ended in a 2 - 2 draw. The following season, Blue House Field hosted a handful of friendlies, but no competitive games, as Sunderland had been eliminated from the challenge cup while playing away to Sedgefield.
Traditional methods include the batsmen playing the ball as late as possible, and not playing away from the body. Other effective measures for combating swing bowling include standing well outside the crease, thus giving the ball less time to swing; and guessing the direction of swing based on the seam position observed in the ball's flight. Controversy regarding reverse swing has never left modern cricket, as the Pakistani team was accused of ball tampering by the Australian umpire Darrell Hair during the fourth test against England in 2006 when the ball began to reverse swing after the 50th over.Cricinfo – As the chaos unfolded His co-umpire Billy Doctrove supported him.
In 1959, the Prahran Council leased the ground to the Victorian Rugby Union on alternate Saturdays (when the Prahran Football Club firsts team was playing away) for the considerable sum at the time of £660, the Prahran Football Club paid only £60 to rent the ground for the whole winter. The VFA rules required that all clubs have access to the same ground throughout the winter, so that the seconds could play home when the firsts played away; as a result, Prahran was expelled from the VFA for that season. The football club secured a winter- long lease in 1960 and returned to the association.
However, despite the excellent facilities the Gymnasium provided for training, the dominance of Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian in the city was already beginning to tell. St Bernard's had a notably smaller band of regular followers, although some Hearts and Hibs fans would elect to go to a St Bernard's match if their own favourites were playing away. Their lower gates meant less money for wages, and so they were unable to prevent English clubs snapping up their best players. When the club reached the cup semi-final in 1896, losing 1–0 to Hearts, just five of the cup winning team were left in the line-up.
In 1994 the club moved from their Broomfield Park home after 102 years. They spent four seasons as tenants of Clyde at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld. The burden of the construction cost of their new all-seater ground (the Excelsior Stadium) was made worse with the deterioration of their supporter base due to lack of investment in the playing staff and the years playing away from their home town, which placed severe financial strain on the club. Despite managing to remain in the second tier for nine successive seasons and win the lower- division Scottish Challenge Cup two years running, they were dissolved in 2002 due to debt.

In an interview, Plant said of Low's The Great Destroyer, "It's great music; it's always been in the house playing away beside Jerry Lee Lewis and Howlin' Wolf, you know. There's room for everything.".Chris Talbott, "Robert Plant follows his muse on 'Band of Joy", Associated Press, September 14, 2010 It is rumored that Plant was introduced to Low's music by guitarist/producer Buddy Miller; Miller worked with Low in the past, and played guitar on Band of Joy. Curiously, writing credits for both "Monkey" and "Silver Rider" are listed in the "Band of Joy" liner notes as "Zachary Micheletti, Mimi Parker, George Sparhawk" per the official listing in BMI's publishing database.
After day one the tie was drawn at one all Australia lost their doubles match in four sets and looked in a bad position. Things only got worse for Australia as their top player Lleyton Hewitt came down with sickness and could not compete in the final day. Australia eventually ended up losing 4–1 overall, seeing Serbia into the world group for the first time; the result also saw Australia relegated for only the second time. The 2008 Davis Cup saw Australia playing away for the fourth consecutive time, playing in Chinese Taipei. Australia beat Chinese Taipei 4–1 and were awarded a home 2nd Round rubber for the first time in almost two years.
The 2005–06 Australian cricket season began on 2005-10-05 with the first official ICC Super Series match, and the home season lasted until 2006-03-27 when the Pura Cup final concluded. The national team are, however, playing away matches until 2006-04-28. The team also toured New Zealand for One Day Internationals in December, played five ODIs and three Tests in South Africa in February and March, and visited Bangladesh for the first time in April.
In February 2000, Airdrieonians were placed into provisional liquidation due to debts related to paying for their new stadium and support lost due to years playing away from their hometown during its construction. After eleven years at the club, 34-year-old Stewart was made redundant at the end of that season (along with 27 of the 30-man squad). He moved to third-level Partick Thistle, and in his single season in Glasgow helped the club achieve promotion as champions. He was released by the Jags in summer 2001 and rejoined Airdrie, where the club were still in a dire financial situation but nevertheless had managed to maintain their second-tier status and win another Scottish Challenge Cup.
Scotland faced a tough group in the bid to qualify for the 1994 FIFA World Cup, as they were drawn with Italy, Portugal and Switzerland. Scotland lost their opening match in Switzerland 3–1, with Richard Gough sent off for a deliberate handball. Scotland were playing away from their normal home stadium of Hampden Park because of redevelopment work for an all-seater stadium and were able to grind out goalless draws against both Italy and Portugal at Ibrox towards the end of 1992. After a 3–0 win against Malta at Ibrox the moment of truth came when the team were destroyed 5–0 by Portugal in Lisbon in April 1993.
On June 2014, Zeman returned into football management, being appointed new head coach of Serie A club Cagliari after a successful takeover led by entrepreneur Tommaso Giulini. On the fifth game of the season Zeman got a surprising but deserved victory of 1–4 playing away against Internazionale, briefly staving off rumors of dismissal after a mediocre start of season. However, he was sacked on 23 December 2014 following a poor run, which saw Cagliari achieve only two wins in their sixteen league fixtures, leaving them in eighteenth place in the relegation zone. On 9 March 2015, just a few months after originally being sacked, Cagliari reappointed Zeman as head coach, the club having sacked Gianfranco Zola.
Harry Fielding (Ross Kemp) is an investigative reporter working for a secret agency designed to covertly document the compromising activities of important public figures. His latest task is to investigate member of parliament Douglas Jenner (Rupert Frazer), who has reportedly been playing away from his wife with a mistress, Angela Richardson (Marina Morgan). Meanwhile, Harry finds he has a new neighbour – primary school teacher Lisa Talbot (Natasha Little), whose daughter, Sarah (Karen Wallace-Jones), is being tormented by an abusive boyfriend, Joe (Simon Meacock). At the request of his boss, Hamilton (Liam Cunningham), Harry takes covert photos of Angela rowing with her ex, Alex Simpson (Alan McKenna), and follows Angela as she goes to meet with Jenner.

All and all, the European presence was positive despite the abrupt end, as PAOK managed 6 wins out of 12 games, with impressive performances and a milestone win against Tottenham. At the home front, PAOK had a turbulent season, as the team managed to finish 3rd in regular season, with 5th being its final position after Play-off. During the season, PAOK won the away games against AEK Athens F.C. and Panathinaikos F.C., marking the end of a winless, 10-year-old tradition against those teams when playing away from home. Team's form was inconsistent though, and the departure – due to the club's financial difficulties – of two of the most significant players of the team, Vieirinha and Pablo Contreras didn't help matters.
Borussia Dortmund clinched its 6th national championship, thanks to a stellar ending to the season, passing long-time leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the penultimate round, before sealing the title with a win on the final day. It also reached the final of the UEFA Cup, where it had the disadvantage of playing away from home against Feyenoord. With skipper Jürgen Kohler being sent off in his final match of the career, Feyenoord were able to win 3–2 and deprive Dortmund of its first international title since its famous UEFA Champions League victory in 1997. Key players in Dortmund's success were Czech duo Jan Koller and Tomáš Rosický, top scorer Márcio Amoroso and German internationals such as Christoph Metzelder, goalkeeper Jens Lehmann and Christian Wörns.
Burns was voted as one of the top three players of the match for his efforts in the game. Burns took over the starting goalkeeping duties for the remainder of the season on August 17, playing away to Henrik Larsson and Helsingborgs IF. Ljungskile won the match 1–0, giving Helsingborgs their only home loss of the season. Colin was named as one of the men of match and also was named best goalkeeper of the week in the Allsvenskan on the weekly highlight show "Fotbollsmåndag" – Football Monday. Burns went on to appear seventeen times for LSK gaining four man of the match honors, two top three players in the match and six shutouts in his first season in the Allsvenskan.

The club enjoyed financial support and administration from a local businessman J.R. "Bob" Bithell, a successful haulage contractor, garage owner and builder involved in construction of buildings such as the Crosville Garage in Llandudno Junction, Vale Laundry, the Drill Hall in Conwy as well as dozens of homes. Bithell supported the construction of the stand at the Nant-y-Coed ground, changing rooms and toilets. He paid for much of the kit and helped players with travel costs especially when Borough played in Europe. Bithell also had several coaches at the time (Blue Coaches of Llandudno that had formally been Royal Blue Coaches, Oswald Road Garage, Llandudno Junction) and his coaches did much of the team transportation when playing away.
In 2002, he gave a very substantial concert program (of which a videotape exists) as a memorial for a prominent resident of Sonoma. The program included including Liszt’s Sixth Hungarian Rhapsody, Campanella and Beethoven’s Waldstein Sonata as well as several major works of Chopin. In 2007, at the age of 82, Clynes has developed new exercises for piano playing away from the piano, which may permit the improvement of piano technique even for octogenarians. In 2007 he applied for three new patents related to SuperConductor, to enhance computer interpretation of music, through: (1) increased mathematical subtlety of note shaping and resulting timbre variations, as earlier, dependent on musical structure, resulting in (2) ‘instant rehearseless conducting’, and (3) importation of note-specific vibrato and shaping from SuperConductor into MIDI files.
Born in Conakry, Sangaré began in his homeland Guinea with AS Kaloum Star and signed 2001 with the Premier-Liha club FC Arsenal Kyiv at that time known as CSKA Kyiv (until December 2001). Sangare, however, at first was placed to play for the Army's second team playing in the Persha Liha. Upon the reorganization of CSKA in December 2001 he stayed with the Army club playing in the second division rather than the newly created city's club of Arsenal. The first game in Ukraine he played on 9 April 2001 in Mykolaiv against the local team playing in the First League. The Armymen lost it 0:2. However, in his next participation a week later CSKA-2 (as it was known then) won, while playing away against the Dnipro's second team 1:0.
Each team hosts one match, and there is no intended advantage to whether a team plays at home first or second. However, many managers and players believe that the team playing at home for the second leg has a slight advantage. The thinking is that the team playing away for the first leg can play it safe there (a draw or even a slight defeat is considered a favourable result), and then "win" the tie at home in the second leg. A statistical analysis of roughly 12,000 matches from the European club competitions between 1956 and 2007 showed that around 53% of teams playing at home in the second leg won the tie (even after allowing for the fact that team playing at home in the second leg tend to be better teams).
Playing away in a low-scoring, rain-affected match against , Richmond won by six points to advance to the grand final. The 2020 Grand Final will be Richmond's third Grand Final appearance in four years, following wins in 2017 and 2019; and, will be Geelong's first appearance since its last Premiership in 2011. It will be the third grand final between the two sides, having previously contested the 1931 and 1967 VFL Grand Finals for one win apiece. It will be the first grand final to feature two Victorian teams since 2011, and only the third grand final not to feature either team that finished first or second on the ladder at the conclusion of the home-and-away season since it became possible in 1972 (the others being 1980 and 2019).
Though there were no actual Cuban men on the Cuban Giants, the team had played in Cuba in the fall or winter of 1885-1886 and again in the winter of 1886–1887. In the September 1938 issue of Esquire Magazine, Sol White recounts the early days of the team: "…when that first team began playing away from home, they passed as foreigners—Cubans, as they finally decided—hoping to conceal the fact that they were just American Negro hotel waiters and talked a gibberish to each other on the field which, they hoped, sounded like Spanish" (Coover, 3). In 1896 ownership issues would lead to a new offshoot team being created, calling themselves "Cuban X-Giants". The older owner's team was then referred to as Genuine Cuban Giants or Original Cuban Giants.
De Sutter started his football activities at his local team KVV Balegem, where he was discovered by third division side Standaard Wetteren. From there, he moved to Club Brugge where he couldn't manage to get a place in the first team, so he moved back to a team in the third division, KM Torhout 1992 this time. De Sutter only stayed there for one top-scoring season, as he was discovered by Clubs city rivals, Cercle Brugge, after a friendly match in which De Sutter scored a hat-trick. At Cercle, he managed a breakthrough almost immediately, scoring in his first official match against Excelsior Mouscron. On 27 November 2007, De Sutter scored 4 goals in 21 minutes in a Belgian Cup game, playing away against KV Mechelen.
Tanya discovered that Conrad was also playing away with closet gay team-mate, Noah, and after Conrad dumped him, she set him up with a rent boy and had the whole scene filmed and shown to the world to make sure he didn't get involved with Conrad again. Amber was then abducted and Conrad decided to cool his affair with Tanya, but she exposed Amber as a liar and that the kidnapping incident was set up to make Conrad finish with Tanya. The disgusted team captain decided to leave Amber and move in with Tanya after she watched Frank die of a heart attack after realising that rampant sex wasn't good for his dodgy heart. Life became tough for Conrad and Tanya when Amber began stalking them, going as far as attempting to hang herself outside their front door.
Robins played a very important part in winning the FA Cup for Manchester United in 1990, which was the first trophy of manager Alex Ferguson's reign at the club, scoring the winning goal in the semi-final replay against Oldham Athletic. United were playing away from home against Nottingham Forest (one of the most successful cup teams of the late 1980s and early 1990s) on 7 January 1990, in a third round FA Cup tie. It was widely speculated in the media (but perennially denied by then-Chairman Martin Edwards) that under-pressure United manager Alex Ferguson would have been sacked had United lost and gone out of the Cup, as they were 15th in the league by this stage and had already been eliminated from the League Cup. Instead, Robins scored the winning goal from a Mark Hughes cross.
Ashton scored a total of 6 tries that season. In the 2013–14 season, Saracens again finished the regular season as league leaders, 9 points clear of Northampton. They then won their semi-final against Harlequins, including a try from Ashton in the 61st minute. However, in a hard-fought final at Twickenham they again lost to Northampton, by 20 points to 24. Ashton finished the season joint-4th in the try scoring table, with a total of 8 tries. In the 2014–15 Premiership season, Saracens qualified for the play-offs in 4th place, with the same number of points as Exeter Chiefs (68), but taking the 4th spot on account of losing one less game than Exeter. In the semi-final Saracens again came up against Northampton, with the added disadvantage of playing away at Franklin's Gardens.
There are sometimes debates over whether the away goals rule gives an unfair advantage to the team playing away first — with the other team squandering their home advantage in the first leg due to away goal fears — and this may be a factor in its somewhat patchy adoption for competitions. The rule can also make the game more exciting as normally one goal can only make the difference between losing and drawing, or between drawing and winning, but with the away goals rule, one goal can make the difference between losing and winning. There is also the issue that if extra time is played in the second leg, the away team gets an extra 30 minutes to take advantage of the away goals rule. This can be countered by the fact that in extra time, the home team has the advantage of playing the extra 30 minutes at home.
The SBL Finals begins in early August and finishes in early September, with the top eight teams in each competition (WSBL and MSBL) competing for their respective Championship. The first two rounds of the finals structure, the quarter-finals and semi-finals, are played using a best-of-three series. The higher ranked team hosts games one and three (if required), and plays game two away; with an exception being: any playoff series involving Geraldton or Goldfields will be played under the pre-2016 format with the higher ranked team playing away for game one, then home for games two and three. Every year, Basketball Western Australia hosts an SBL Grand Final weekend at Bendat Basketball Centre to determine the champion teams of the WSBL and MSBL, with the WSBL championship game on the Friday night and the MSBL championship game on the Saturday night.
Traditionally, when playing at home, teams wore uniforms that were mostly white with trim in team colors and when playing away, they wore uniforms that were mostly gray with trim in team colors. Aside from the obvious need to distinguish one team from the other, conventional wisdom held that it was more difficult to properly launder uniforms while on a road trip, thus the "road grays" helped to hide accumulated soil. This convention continued well after its original premise was nullified by the issuance of multiple uniforms and the growth of the laundromat industry. All-time uniforms displayed at the Atlanta Braves Museum in 2009 Starting in the 1970s, with the advent of synthetic fabrics, teams began using more color in their uniforms, notably the Kansas City Athletics in 1963, the San Diego Padres' brown-and-yellow scheme beginning in 1969, and the Houston Astros' rainbow stripes in the mid-1970s.
Soon afterwards, Hammam met six leading protesters, who told him that in the event of a move they would start a new non-League club locally. Plough Lane in 2000, standing derelict Playing away from Merton at a supposedly temporary home, Wimbledon set a record for the lowest-ever English top-flight attendance on 22 August 1992 with 3,759 watching the clash with Coventry City, before breaking it twice more: 12 December 1992 against Oldham Athletic with 3,386, and finally on 26 January 1993, drawing only 3,039 fans to a Tuesday-night match against Everton, with reportedly 1,500 travelling from Liverpool. All ten of the Premier League's lowest attendances were Wimbledon home matches in the 1992–93 and 1993–94 seasons. However the general trend was one of a sharp rise—the club's average home attendance more than doubled at Selhurst Park from around 8,000 during the last years at Plough Lane to a peak of over 18,000 during the 1998–99 Premier League season.
The team seemed capable of competing with the league's top sides, especially at home – Most managed to draw with AC Sparta Prague (eventual league champions), defeat Slavia Prague (eventual runners-up) and was overall unbeaten at home against the clubs who would finish in the top 5 league positions – but the team was less efficient when playing away from home, and an even bigger problem was an inability to consistently take full advantage of the relatively weaker sides of the league. This translated into Most finishing the season with a league-high 16 draws, good enough only for a somewhat disappointing 12th place in the league, but the club's top-flight status was secured once again. At the end of the season the club and manager Zdeněk Ščasný mutually decided to end their relationship, and the club hired Robert Žák, who had previously been in charge of the club's youth set-up.
Drott's positions in the top division HK Drott was founded on 10 March 1936 by Lars-Erik Dymne, Erik Månsson, Arvid Fridh and Ingvar Svensson, all 13 years of age; the club was originally formed as a football club. A few games were then played in 1937, with HK Drott winning all games played in the rural areas, while at least 3 of the games played in town were lost. The club also bought their first sports kit, based on the Arsenal F.C. model, and for practice the club rented I 16's gym. When playing away against Laholm, the club members pretended to be children to be able to buy the cheaper children's tickets. Several more football matches were played in 1938, but during this year handball became stronger within the club and the first handball matches were played against Läroverkets realskolelag. At this time no centre halves were used so only 6 outfielders and 3 substitutes were used.
He continued to play for All Saints' until mid-April 1933, when he made a reportedly unexpected first-team debut for Cheltenham in a 3–2 win at home to Atherstone Town: he scored Cheltenham's second goal, which was also the team's 100th goal of the season. After he impressed in the next home game, Cheltenham's directors selected Haycox for the away match against Birmingham "A" (the third eleven of the Football League club). It was not a straightforward decision: Haycox suffered with travel sickness to the extent that, when playing away with All Saints', he had sometimes been unable to take the field until the second half. The club allowed him to travel to Birmingham by car in the hope it would ease the problem, and he performed well enough to keep his place, scored four in an eleven–nil defeat of Bournville Athletic, and finished the season with eight goals from rather fewer matches.
In November 2006, a planned launch of the book 'Villains' about the various Aston Villa hooligan firms, which included details of clashes with the Zulu Warriors, which was due to be held at Sensations Club in the Balsall Heath area of Birmingham, had to be cancelled due to threats that the Zulus would turn up and cause trouble at the event. Members of the Zulu Warriors were said to have taken exception to the launch of the book and the presence of rivals on what they considered "their territory". In October 2008, Fowler, along with Michael Lutwyche released a book entitled 'Hardcore' about the firm. A younger wing of the firm emerged under the banner "Hardcore Youth" with two members of the firm being banned in January 2010 from attending Aston Villa matches, being in the vicinity of Villa Park on match-days, and, when Villa are playing away from home, using trains to travel the country and from entering the relevant town-centre.
When Hammam requested talks with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) top brass in April 1997, they refused to even meet him. Vocal opposition from Wimbledon fans emerged—after a friendly match in August 1997 fans holding "Dublin = Death" and "Dons Belong In Merton" placards refused to leave the stadium for two hours. Soon afterwards, Hammam met six leading protesters, who told him that in the event of a move they would start a new non-League club locally. Portland started the season with five straight road games due to an expansion project at Providence Park, which finished in three losses and two draws. After returning to Providence Park in April, the Timbers went on a fifteen-match unbeaten streak (tying a club record) that was broken by a loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps in August. By late September, however, Portland had only won three more matches and lost six—being outscored 15–5 in away games. After winning 4–1 and 3–0 in successive matches against Real Salt Lake to close out the season, the Timbers qualified for the playoffs as the fifth-seed in the Western Conference, playing away to FC Dallas in the first knockout round. Despite a red card being shown to defender Larrys Mabiala, Portland won 2–1 on two goals by Diego Valeri and advanced to the semifinals to face longtime rivals and defending Western Conference champions Seattle Sounders FC. After winning the first leg 2–1 at home, the Timbers lost their aggregate lead during the second leg as the Sounders rallied to tie the series at 3–3 and force extra time.
