I got contacted by a friend who said that she was putting together a group show at her gallery [Planthouse Gallery]; they were being displaced from their space in the Flower District as it was gentrifying, and she wanted to do a group show that was sort of a look back at this neighborhood.

Planthouse was founded in 2013 in a former flower shop by Katie Michel. The gallery took its namesake from its location in New York City's flower district. In 2015, Planthouse moved to its current home on West 28th street between Broadway and 6th Avenue.

In 2016 a projection of Delancey Street was shown at Callicoon Fine Arts, NY, in a solo exhibition, January to February 2016. Garrett then translated the abstract gestures of the poses to a painted collage. Another painted-and cut-paper collage make up "Improvisations 1-9." In a final iteration, the gestural shapes were overlaid onto woodblock prints. Garrett’s paintings, prints, and videos have been exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States, including Danese/Corey, the FLAG Art Foundation, Birnam Wood, the Parrish Art Museum, and Planthouse.
