Ideally, stone from the building site can be utilized. Depending on the stone type, it can be used for structural block, facing block, pavers, and crushed stone. Most brick plants are located near the clay source they use to make brick. Bricks are molded and baked blocks of clay.

The Big Pineapple complex is partly fenced to the south boundary with a timber-framed flat-top paling fence and a low three-rail fence to the east which is painted white. A bitumen car park fronts the entrance pavilion area which is paved in terracotta-coloured pavers.

If the final pavement is to have vehicle traffic, a layer of subbase of crushed stone or concrete must come next—this layer will even out the subgrade and will bear the heaviest load from the pavement above.

Today's Bryansk is an important center for steel and machinery manufacturing, and is home to many large factories. The main industries are machine building, metalworking, chemical, electrical equipment, electronics, wood, textile and food industries, locomotives, diesel engines, freight cars, motor graders, pavers and other road equipment, agricultural equipment, construction materials, and garments.

There is also a cistern located behind the building that collects of water retained from the roof and parking lot. The water is treated and used for irrigation purposes. Eighty-five percent of construction and demolition debris was recycled. In some cases old bricks became pavers engraved with names for a fee.

There is a modern rubbish dump behind kitchen 2. The Anglican Church remains comprise a rectangular concrete pad with entry steps. The slightly elevated north-east end of this pad (originally holding the altar) has a small rectangular CGI shed constructed after the lazaret occupation. Noxer blocks are concrete pavers that feature a 5–7 mm thick coating of titanium dioxide (TiO2) atop a cement mortar layer. Titanium dioxide is a heterogeneous photocatalyst that uses sunlight to absorb and render oxides of nitrogen (NO and NO2) harmless by converting them to nitrate ions (NO3−), which are then either washed away by rain or soaked into the concrete to form stable compounds.

The growth of Lithgow brick and pottery manufactures in some ways paralleled that of the local iron industry. It was realised that brick and pottery manufacture was the best way to use otherwise worthless slack coal and waste clay generated by the Lithgow Valley Colliery. To this end the Lithgow Valley Pottery was established. In 1878 the works, located directly opposite the colliery, commenced production of pipes and pavers.

The second phase of construction on the trail, which officially opened in 2011, redeveloped the old train line from Plantsville center to the Cheshire town line. The project has brought landscaping, iron benches, and intersections of brick pavers where the trail crosses roads. It has pale yellow facebrick walls and aluminium-framed windows with original hardware (sliding and double-hung sashes). The front door addresses a generous, north-facing, roofed patio area, paved with square concrete pavers. The layout of the flat is original; however, all ceiling linings have been removed. The kitchen, bathroom, and laundry fitouts are early and it retains early electric monitor boards used by the caretaker to supervise the building.

Westlake Center Plaza is located on the corner of 4th Avenue and Pine St and has a small, one-story (plus loft) retail pavilion. The plaza is covered in gray pavers and features several small trees. There are many extant examples of Roman architecture, including stellas found at the pilgrimage chapel of Santa Cruz, and working Roman water fountains. The area has many rustic stone houses, and narrow medieval streets set on stone pavers. Fermoselle has a long history of viticulture.

The Union of Stone Setters, Pavers and Kindred Trades () was a trade union representing paviours and people in related trades, in Germany. The union was founded in 1886. It affiliate to the General Commission of German Trade Unions, and its membership grew steadily, reaching 11,395 by 1913. In 1904, the union organised an international conference of stone setters in Dresden, followed by a conference in 1907, which established the International Federation of Stone Setters.

The pavement, scored to resemble square pavers, extends north of the verandah line at the eastern and western ends. On the first floor, the interior walls and ceilings of both sections are lined in flat sheeting and skirtings are timber, of a simple profile. Single panelled timber doors survive between some rooms. In the B&P; section, vertical members of the structural system are evident on the north and south walls, between pairs of windows.

In 2013, just before administration, Barratts closed its Jersey store, which is now occupied by Paperchase. In October 2013, it was reported that the business was suffering a cash flow crisis as it struggled to purchase new stock in the run-up to Christmas. On 11 November 2013, it was confirmed the company had entered administration, with 18 immediate store closures. The retailer Pavers Shoes purchased 14 Barratts stores in December 2013.

As highway construction moved away from rigid concrete construction, Blaw-Knox began making highway pavers for the new method of flexible asphalt paving (tarmac). In 1931 Blaw-Knox introduced a form-riding finisher for asphalt paving. By 1932 they released the first self-propelled non-form riding finisher for the placement of stones and asphalt. Until this time it had been common to pave roads using formwork on either side of the pavement.

The screed was mounted between these wheels and was able to average out irregularities. In 1956, they developed the first auto-grade-and-slope pavers. Blaw-Knox went on to establish a broad line of paving machines for the US and UK markets. The UK employed a distinctly different paving method, applying a deeper mat of asphalt than was common in the US, which resulted in a marked reduction in paving speed.

A wheelchair ramp is positioned on either side of the four steps that lead into the park which is elevated from the sidewalk level. The park displays a unique blend of synthetic materials, textures, colors and sounds. The wire mesh chairs and marble tables are light, while the ground surfaces are rough-hewn granite pavers which extend across the sidewalk to the street curb. The honey locust trees were planted at intervals.

Ten years later, following a trip to the United States, they began to plan and build a new and more efficient tunnel kiln. In 1972 Midland Brick developed and introduced the first commercial pavers into Western Australia. The first of these were used in the construction of the Perth Concert Hall and are still in place today. The firm was said to have promoted the Perth tradition of building double-brick homes.

In 1933 the independent float screed was invented and when combined with the tamper bar provided for uniform material density and thickness. Harry Barber filed for a patent a "Machine for and process of laying roads" on 10 April 1936 and received patent on 6 December 1938. The main features of the paver developed by Barber Greene Co. have been incorporated into most pavers since, although improvements have been made to control of the machine.

Above the arcade (below the roof of the south range) there is a roof cladding of split tapered weatherboards. The floors throughout the northern and central sections of the house are timber with the exception of two small pantry rooms which flank the rear hall. These two rooms have floors tiled with terracotta pavers. The west half of the southern range has timber floors while the east half have both brick and tile floors.

After that, he played less minutes due to injuries and became an effective reserve player. Barnes won an NBA Championship with the Celtics in 1969-1969, serving at the backup to Bill Russell, although hampered by injury, he did not appear in the playoffs. The streets of the Michigan Avenue-Genesee Street neighborhood are narrow and some sections display brick pavers. The neighborhood is completely residential, containing residences of a modest size but architecturally sophisticated. The district contains 32 properties, all but one of which were constructed in the 19th century. Although a few Greek Revival houses are in the district, most houses reflect later styles, including Carpenter Gothic, Italianate, Queen Anne, Eastlake, and Georgian Revival styles.

The Commons is also notable for its chic, upscale appearance, including outdoor lighting, lush landscaping, sidewalks and brick pavers to connect the various buildings in the center, outdoor music, individually designed storefronts, benches, and a number of special events held throughout the year, including public art displays, celebrity guest appearances, summer concerts, the Touch-a-Truck event, and horse-drawn carriage rides during the holidays.

However, on July 24, 1914, after a few games in Rock Island, the franchise was forced to play the remainder of the season in Galesburg, Illinois after losing a territorial dispute with the Three-I League. They played as the Galesburg Pavers in their remaining 1914 games.The franchise did not return in 1915. In 1916, the Rock Island Islanders rejoined the Mississippi Valley League, playing alongside the Moline Plowboys and Davenport Blue Sox.

A memorial green space sits where the rest of the school once stood. A monument was also built to commemorate both the school and the church (which served the Slovak community for over one hundred years). In 2008, under the leadership of Mayor Joseph P. Keating, the city invested in renovating the downtown area sidewalks with a brick theme. Colorful brick pavers line the sidewalks along the curbside and at street crossings.

First Government House Plaza is an open-air public space and part of Museum of Sydney, situated at Bridge Street end of the site. The design is minimalist and disciplined, intended to evoke a sense of the site's past. Paving covers the majority of the First Government House remains, however the individual pavers can be removed and the remains viewed through a glass pyramid. The outline of original building is marked through the paving pattern.

Close-up, 2014 The Oxley War Memorial stands to the northwest of a small rectangular park on the corner of Oxley Road and Bannerman Street. The park setting contains grassed areas, decorative planted beds and hedges, scattered trees, children's play equipment and the war memorial monument. The sandstone and marble monument stands on a low dressed stone plinth surrounded by stone pavers. A stepped sandstone pedestal bears a sandstone soldier figure facing west.

When not competing in track meets, Capel worked for Flagstone Pavers in Brooksville, Florida, driving a forklift and picking defective blocks from outgoing orders. He also served as a coach for track and field and football at his alma mater, Hernando High School in Brooksville, Florida. As of 2013, he was working as an assistant at Oak Hill Hospital. He is married to his high school sweetheart, with whom he has four children.

The church, which is a main location for the film, was substantially set-dressed. Despite having several original medieval wall paintings, the largest addition was the creation of the medieval mural by artist Margot Noyes. To create the impression of an austere country church, Victorian stone flags were replaced with brick pavers for the duration of filming and the original wall paintings covered up. Plastic guttering and other modern additions were covered up or removed.

Downtown Oswego is home to historic buildings and homes, as well as shops and restaurants. The Village of Oswego launched a project to enhance and restore the historic downtown district. This project included significant infrastructure and streetscape improvements, such as the installation of brick pavers, sidewalks, landscaping, and decorative streetlights and benches. Hudson Crossing Park, located along the Fox River, opened in October 2004 where many children and families enjoy the scenery.

At the time, the beach was a narrow sand bar connecting Hunter Island and Rodman's Neck. There was a retaining wall behind the sand bar, and breakwaters allowed water from the Long Island Sound to pass through the sand bar. The retaining wall frequently flooded at high tide, which made the sand bar effectively unusable most of the time. There were approximately 600 families using the bungalows near the sand bar, as well as bathhouses made of granite pavers.

Approximately long, the memorial features a long pathway of light-grey basalt pavers cut to resemble railway sleepers, reminiscent of those used on the Thai-Burma Railway. To the southern side are two canted black polished granite walls with the names of all known Australian prisoners of war. They are listed alphabetically by war and no rank is acknowledged. The two walls are separated in the middle by a square pool of water that features six large basalt obelisks.

In August 2016 pavers were laid on the site where the statue of Lenin stood.

Father Pedro Opeka taught the Akamasoa people tips on how to divide and sort the rubbish, to transport the compost created from rubbish, and to create small agricultural farms. Akamasoa also trains construction artisans (bricklayers, carpenters, cabinet makers, operators and street pavers) who have built or rebuilt roads and bridges to help communities in the villages and all over the country... Akamasoa lies about 12 km from the center of Antananarivo, on the road to Tamatave.

Stepped terraces for seating are utilized on the south side of the field in lieu of retaining walls to address the grade difference. The curvilinear terrace walls, along with the meandering decomposed granite path around the perimeter of the field, help soften the edges. Lawn and pavers within the terraces help break up the concrete steps and to provide additional seating areas. Planting along the perimeter preserves the existing trees, provides shade and softens the edges.

Built with donations provided by businessman Allan Scott, government grants and funding provided by the sale of personalised pavers laid around the Oval precinct, the Headquarters house the administration of the Port Adelaide Football Club along with the AFL training facilities. The Headquarters also have a balcony that overlooks the ground. In 2010 the HQ was upgraded, the cornerstone of which was the Mark Williams Facility, which allows players to train indoors during extreme weather conditions.

The park was paid for in part by the donations of thousands of individuals who bought bricks engraved with the short message of their choice and laid as pavers throughout the park. The contribution for each brick was $35. The message was allowed 15 characters on each of two lines. The finished bricks were laid in alternating light (tan) and dark (brick red) groups comprising a large portion of the 800,000 bricks used in the park's construction.

Vessel (under construction) behind it In fall 2016, the Shed started a citywide dance program about social justice issues. It also partnered with the MIT Media Lab to assist artists who were creating works involving virtual reality and artificial intelligence. The first permanent art commission for the Shed was announced in May 2017. Artist Lawrence Weiner was commissioned to decorate the plaza with pavers arranged into letters, which would spell the phrase "In front of itself".

Monmouth drew 23,000 for the season, 362 per game. In 1910, the Monmouth Browns Monmouth left the Illinois-Missouri League after winning the championship and joined the eight–teamCentral Association. Monmouth finished 62–72, for 6th place in 1910, playing alongside the Burlington Pathfinders (56–81), Galesburg Pavers (69–67), Hannibal Cannibals (77–60), Keokuk Indians (67–70), Kewanee Boilermakers (49–91), Ottumwa Packers (80–57) and Quincy Vets (88–50). Monmouth was managed by Lew Drill in 1910.

In 2009, $75 million was earmarked to clean and spruce up the area and to renovate the plaza. The renovation itself cost $45 million. It created a new public park within the plaza, on the former site of the municipal parking lot; the park was envisioned as an "urban oasis" or neighborhood meeting place. Another new public park, named Dutch Kills Green, was built as part of the renovation; it has 500 trees, wetlands, and pavers for storm drainage.

In 2011, Deutsche Bahn sold it to the company. The new owner plans to demolish it and build a new railway station building in the long term. The station forecourt was extended in 2011/12 in two construction phases with the removal of the cobblestone pavers and the construction of a barrier-free bus stop. Installing a snowmelt system under brick pavers is achieved by placing the heating cables on the base surface over 1/2" of sand.

Wellfield Botanic Gardens features over 20 individual gardens including an English-style garden, a waterfall garden, and an "Adventure Path" for children. The Conversation Garden Walkway trail includes memorial pavers that can be purchased in memory of a loved one or to commemorate a special event. The Quilt Garden is updated yearly with flowerbeds and greenery designed to represent a quilt square. It is one of 17 quilt gardens in the northern Indiana Amish Country Heritage Trail.

In 1929, the union expanded to include the Tunnel and Subway Contractors’ International Union. Then, eight years later, the union expanded again to include the Pavers' International Union. However, during the Great Depression of the 1930s, membership fell to under 30,000 as more and more people lost their jobs. In 1940, the union moved its international headquarters from Massachusetts to Washington D.C. Also, in October of that year, union dues were suspended in support of the U.S.’s impending involvement in WWII.

The garage has been extended with an open-sided canopy with a gently pitched roof and has been paved with brick pavers. The main door is located within a wall with a stepped, asymmetric parapet and has delicate concrete moulding around the opening. Circular moulded cartouches adorn the exterior in a number of places. Reports of the interior highlight the use of hand-made flooring tiles, panelled ceilings and walls, gently arched openings and timber-framed glass doors with decorative tracery.

It originally contained stable accommodation for ten horses, with each horse contained in 13 by 13 foot (3.96 by 3.96 metre) stalls. The floor was constructed of wood block pavers, which sloped to the middle of the building, connecting to a drainage system and absorbing pits. The Infirmary also contained two fodder stores, harness room and pharmacy, each of which had a concrete floor. The Infirmary was partly destroyed by fire in 1925, but rebuilt to match the existing fabric.

(which later merged with The Austral Tile Company and formed Eureka Tiles Australia). By the 2003, Brickworks Limited had acquired 100% of Bristle Limited, and started a new endeavor in the timber industry and bought Auswest Timbers, a timber producer in Western Australia. Additionally, Brickworks Limited continued purchasing bankable construction materials companies.

Modular Block systems are similar except that permeable block pavers are used instead. Normally all rainfall will immediately pass through the pavement into the gravel storage layer below it where it can infiltrate at natural rates into the site's native soil. Pavement layers are usually 4 to 6 inches in height while the gravel storage layer is typically 6 to 18 inches high. The Capture Ratio is the percent of the treated area (street or parking lot) that is replaced with permeable pavement.

Because of population growth and migration to the city, Bosco found the traditional methods of parish ministry inefficient. He decided it was necessary to try another form of apostolate, and he began to meet the boys where they worked and gathered in shops and marketplaces. They were pavers, stone-cutters, masons, plasterers who came from far away places, he recalled in his brief Memoires. The Oratorio was not simply a charitable institution, and its activities were not limited to Sundays.

Sidewalks were widened and enhanced with brick pavers as well as landscaping. Two new public plazas were added in Anglin's Square and furnished with colorful "Addy" chairs, boat benches and bike racks shaped like fish. Each of the four business plazas on Commercial were outfitted with coral reef themed artworks (parrotfish, green turtle, eagle ray and sea fan), reflecting the town's ties with the ocean. An 18-foot coral reef sculpture also greets visitors as they enter the town over the intracoastal waterway.

In 1978, archaeologists led by Dr. Carter Hudgins and the Virginia Department of Historic Resources excavated the foundations of Robert Carter I's Georgian mansion at Corotoman. The archaeology undertaken also confirmed a single-pile house of 40 by including a loggia that measured 10 by . The mansion's foundations were found to be thick. Considerable rubble was unearthed at Corotoman, including white marble pavers, fragments of dressed stone and rubbed brick, Delft tile, Chinese porcelain, tankards, and over 1,000 wine bottles.

Other stele were simply laid out in rows like pavers. Broken stones were reused at other sites and can be found bordering the fence of a nearby playground. The chairman of the trust at that time was P. W. Gledhill, a trustee from 1924 until his death in 1962 and whose enthusiasm for the project left many visible marks on the cemetery. Gledhill rescued endangered monuments of all sorts and brought them to the cemetery, where they contribute to the landscape.

This was amalgamated further into the Royal Armament Research and Development Establishment in the 1980s and then the Defence Research Agency on 1 April 1991. A further reorganization into the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency followed on 1 April 1995 before a split into the publicly owned Defence Science and Technology Laboratory and the privatised QinetiQ in 2001. The organisation worked to develop and test new techniques and equipment for use in the British Army. The latter including bridges, rafts, cranes, earthmoving equipment and road pavers.

Access to the first floor is via a small stair at the northern end of the building, and via the landing of Block A's western stairs at the southern end. One early door survives: a high-waisted, single-light door with a VJ panel at the southern first floor entrance. The interior of the first floor has plaster walls, timber skirtings of a simple profile, and a modern fitout. The ground floor is mostly open play space, with a concrete pavement floor scored to resemble square pavers.

Timber-framed, top-hung awning windows with centre-pivoting fanlights run almost the entire length of the first floor eastern facade. Stairwells with separate gable roofs are located at each end of the building, enclosed by facebrick walls glazed with timber-framed screens with wired-glass insets. The stairs are concrete and have tubular metal pole handrails. The western verandah has a low-pitched skillion roof, with clerestory windows (glass louvres) above; square timber posts; and a concrete pavement floor scored to resemble square pavers.

The two-story lobby is recessed allowing for a colonnade or pilotis to encircle the building at street level. The interior walls and floors of the lobby are covered in granite which entends to the plaza. The lobby contains several commemorative tablets which were removed from the previous building. The entire complex is based on a grid pattern so that seams of the granite pavers in the plaza extend into the building lobbies and up the sides to create unity among the three structures.

Harriet Tubman Park, also known as Harriet Tubman Square, is located in the South End neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It honors the life of abolitionist Harriet Tubman. The park is located on a triangular traffic island previously known as Columbus Square, which was developed by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department with funding from the Browne Fund, the Henderson Foundation and the New England Arts Foundation. The park's brick paving is inlaid with decorative bronze pavers which depict aspects of the story of the Underground Railroad.

The asphalt paver was developed by Barber Greene Co., that originally manufactured material handling systems. In 1929 the Chicago Testing Laboratory approached them to use their material loaders to construct asphalt roads. This did not result in a partnership but Barber Greene did develop a machine based on the concrete pavers of the day that mixed and placed the concrete in a single process. This setup did not prove as effective as desired and the processes were separated and the modern paver was on its way.

The company recruited real-estate mogul Thomas Lowry, who on September 2, 1875, brought on line a route between downtown Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota. The streetcars became popular because they rode on smooth rails, while most of the streets of the era were dirt or made of cobblestone pavers. These roads became treacherous to pedestrians and uncomfortable to ride on in horse-drawn buggies, especially during Minnesota winters. Thomas Lowry envisioned linking together the various railways that were cropping up around Minneapolis.

The site features a 20 X 30 pilot shelter with picnic tables, a beautiful fire pit surrounded by brick pavers, running water and portable toilets. The site is already attracting pilots from all over the S.E. United States and has hosted pilot seminars and large fly-in camping events. Friends is working with local businesses and attractions to provide transportation into town for the visiting pilots. The site was fully funded by Friends and donated to the City of Arcadia who owns the airport.

Streets in the downtown area were recently improved, by the removal of parking spaces, as part of the "Streetscapes" program, bringing brick pavers to sidewalks, lamp posts, lush landscaping and intersection upgrades. In May 2004, the city held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Heritage Park, the first phase of the Etowah River Greenway. The park covers approximately and has pedestrian and bike trails and a natural amphitheater. The city used to hold concerts and movies in Heritage Park throughout the summer free of charge to its residents.

Items include granite pavers that have memories of past Hillsboro citizens carved into the stone and photographs etched onto glass. Photographs range from pioneer times to life in the 1990s. There are also letters etched in glass from people such as Albert E. Tozier, Robert Summer, Chavela Mendoza, Lester C. Mooberry, Mary Ramsey Wood, George Iwasaki, and Howard Vollum. Gunfights, hangings, funerals, the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, the Great Depression, and an outbreak of diphtheria in the 1890s are among the events represented.

The Galesburg Pavers (Galesburg, Illinois) and Monmouth Browns (Monmouth, Illinois) joined after having left the Illinois–Missouri League. For the 1911 season, Quincy moved to the Illinois–Indiana–Iowa League and the Muscatine Camels (Muscatine, Iowa) formed and joined the league. For 1913, Galesburg and Hannibal folded, with the Cedar Rapids Rabbits (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), and Waterloo Jays (Waterloo, Iowa) forming to join the league. In 1914, Kewanee and Monmouth folded while the Clinton Pilots (Clinton, Iowa) and Marshalltown Ansons (Marshalltown, Iowa) formed and joined the league.

However, of Costello's 58 reusable public surface shelters, 20 have survived; the removal of their blast walls, as planned, had given them a renewed purpose. The worker's shelters at the Story Bridge and Howard Smith Wharves also still exist. The blast walls of the Hefferan Park air raid shelter were removed according to plan after World War II, although evidence of the location of the walls is still visible. The shelter roof and piers have been painted and concrete pavers have been laid on the floor.

"It's consistent with the essence of the buildings that are down here -- white plaster and graceful forms, which are somewhat of an abstraction of the look and feel of Miami Deco", Sherlock continued. Even the parking-garage walls are tiled in Miami- Deco pastels that connect with Little Havana. As visitors walk from the outside in, they step right on metaphors for Miami's topography, including concrete pavers that in general are either green or blue ("grass" or "sea").

On February 11, 2010, Bloomberg announced that the pedestrian plazas would become permanent. The city started rebuilding the plaza in 2010, hiring the design and landscaping firm Snøhetta to permanently replace Broadway's roadway with custom-made granite pavers and benches. By December 2013, the first phase of the Times Square pedestrian plaza had been completed at the southern end of the square in time for the Times Square Ball drop on New Year's Eve. The project was originally intended to be completed by the end of 2015.

Shelter in 2015 The Newmarket air raid shelter is a rectangular concrete structure comprising a heavy floor slab, rear and side nib blast walls, a flat roof and five brick piers. The original floor slab is covered with concrete topping and an outer edge of pavers, and the rear concrete wall has a mural painted to the interior while the exterior of the rear wall remains unpainted. The roof fascias are painted yellow. The original air-raid shelter timber seat is painted green and is located against the rear wall.

In the early 2000s, the walkway in front of Old Main was replaced with stone pavers. In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of Phi Kappa Psi in 2002, the fraternity paid to return the fountain to working order. As part of a 2004 restoration grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, portions of Old Main were painted and weatherized, and a study was undertaken to examine further avenues for historical preservation. In 2005, the bell was renovated and rang for the first time since the 1960s.

The concrete pavement is scored to resemble square pavers and steps up toward the eastern end, in line with the brick-enclosed section. The pavement continues around the northwest corner of the building to terminate in a landing with tubular metal handrails. From here, a short flight of concrete steps leads down to a modern concrete pathway. Windows in the northern wall are large double-hung timber sashes (with fanlights above the first floor windows), and original doors are single or double, part-glazed timber doors with v-jointed (VJ) panelling.

The parade ground between Block A, Block C and Building A6 has an upper level of gently sloping ground lined with bitumen, and a lower level (along the southern and western edges) of concrete pavement scored to resemble square pavers. Connecting the levels is a long, curving set of concrete stairs that run from the brick planter box at the northeast corner of Building A6 and curve around to run parallel with Block A. Modern shade structures and concrete planter boxes within the parade ground area are not of heritage significance.

Externally the roof is formed of copper sheeting and internally of timber panelling. The entrance verandah is both physically and visually an extension of the main roof form, the lowest point of which comes to rest on a white angled column. Here the roof ends with an elegant copper storm water feature like a cubist gargoyle delivering roof water to a circular drain edged by brick pavers and filled with large smooth river stones. External Inspection reveals: painted timber framed windows to clerestory, painted timber framed entrance doors and windows.

The materials utilized in the creation of the disks included 72 cubic yards of dirt excavated from the site of the I-485/South Boulevard station. The dirt was mixed with concrete tinted with iron oxide and applied to the steel discs in the Scaleybark parking lot. Each disc measures only in width, and have been engineered to withstand hurricane- force winds. Additional works include bas-reliefs entitled Hornbeam by Alice Adams, Mexican Bingo motifs on both the pavers and shelters by Leticia Huerta and track fencing featuring sweetgum leaves by Shaun Cassidy.

Instead of pot holed blacktop, cement pavers, gardening, and Victorian style lights were debuted. Along with a brand new midway, the park saw the return of the children's Pony Cart ride and the opening of several different food vendors. For the 2016 season, the park announced the addition of two attractions, a boat ride and a statue that pays tribute to the racehorse American Girl that died at Elmira Racetrack in 1875. The park also announced an opening ceremony for the special opening of a record two attractions.

Enola Gay maneuvers into position at a hardstand upon returning to North Field on Tinian following the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Hardstands are paved with materials including concrete heavy duty pavers which give a lot of maintenance flexibility over other products as well as strength for the life of the project or asphalt/macadam. The paving is usually designed to be thicker and more durable than drives, city streets, or automobile parking lots in order to support the weight of heavy vehicles such as large airplanes, tanks, or heavy trucks.

The Rue Mosnier Decked with Flags depicts red, white, and blue pennants covering buildings on either side of the street; another painting of the same title features a one-legged man walking with crutches. The Johnetta Plant of the United States Sewer Pipe Company utilized the Kittanning clay for the manufacture of refractory products. This clay immediately underlaid the Kittanning coal, which was mined in advance of the clay, and which found a ready market at the northern lake ports. The clay seam was about 15 feet in thickness, of exceptional purity, and adapted to the manufacture of pavers, high-grade face brick and sewer pipe. Bagdad Four miles above Schenley, on the Kiskiminetas river, and two miles below Leechburg is the old village of Bagdad.

The original surface to the footpath is not known. Around 1981 there was a wash concrete finish with borders of brick pavers, apparently laid over earlier paving. The surface was relaid in 2007 to incorporate granite paving borders and a cross- strip at each lamp standard, and a new layer of bitumen. Two commemorative plaques are situated on the structure; the 1924 foundation stone on the southern side of the balustrade wall and a plaque on the northern face of the wall commemorating Frank Pace, described as the "Lord Mayor" of Rose Bay.

Also housed in the University of Oregon Law Center is the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics. The Lane County Courthouse in Eugene renovated and rededicated its adjacent Wayne L. Morse Free Speech Plaza in the spring of 2005, complete with a life-size statue and pavers imprinted with quotations. The Morse family's Eugene property and home, Edgewood Farm, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Wayne Morse Farm. The City of Eugene, assisted by a nonprofit corporation, operates the historical park formerly known as Morse Ranch.

As a result of her efforts, she was the recipient of the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee School of Architecture & Urban Planning "Urban Edge award". A few years later, Bargmann and D.I.R.T were hired to renovate Urban Outfitters headquarters from an abandoned Navy Yard. She constructed the exterior landscaping around the building to include pathways, laws, and dog parks. As part of the land included a working Navy base, she uncovered and designed ship crainways, ecological floating wetlands, and reused debris as pavers to turn the site into an ecological friendly landscape.

Townsend became a mason and then a contractor and builder at the age of 21. He built several stores, dwellings, court houses, railroads, sewers, and bridges. His works include the Muskingum County Courthouse, Wood County Courthouse, Guernsey County Courthouse, Tuscarawas County Courthouse, Miami County Courthouse, and the Arlington Hotel (since demolished). Ohio Historical Society Brick was in high demand for use as pavers (including at the "Brickyard" racetrack Indianapolis Motor Speedway) in the early 20th century, and Townsend's bricks are collected along with other historic examples at "Redbud Alley" in Columbus, Ohio.

By the time the park officially opened in 2004, Ameritech had merged with SBC Communications and the plaza was called SBC Plaza. When SBC acquired AT&T; and subsequently changed the name from SBC to AT&T; in 2005, the name of the plaza changed again. Cloud Gate was originally estimated to weigh because it was impossible to estimate the thickness of the steel compatible with the desired aesthetics.

The Trust for Public Land has completed 183 green school yards across the 5 boroughs in New York. Existing asphalt school yards are converted to a more vibrant and exciting place while also incorporating infrastructure to capture and store rainwater: rain garden, rain barrel, tree groves with pervious pavers, and an artificial field with a turf base. The children are engaged in the design process, lending to a sense of ownership and encourages children to take better care of their school yard. Success in New York has allowed other cities like Philadelphia and Oakland to also convert to green school yards.

Plastic grid systems, if selected and installed correctly, are becoming more and more popular with local government maintenance personnel owing to the reduction in maintenance efforts: reduced gravel migration and weed suppression in public park settings. Some permeable paving products are prone to damage from misuse, such as drivers who tear up patches of plastic & gravel grid systems by "joy riding" on remote parking lots at night. The damage is not difficult to repair but can look unsightly in the meantime. Grass pavers require supplemental watering in the first year to establish the vegetation, otherwise they may need to be re-seeded.

The main pool has ceramic tiled rounded edging, a scupper channel to absorb waves, and hexagonal ceramic tiled patterns at the ends of the lanes on the floor of the pool. The wading pool is tiled in fluid abstract patterns. The diving boards are supported on splayed concrete columns, from which spring splayed cantilevered platforms, and steel balustrades and stairs with central steel stringers; the diving tower has curved stairs clinging to its northern face. The podium is paved with hexagonal concrete pavers flecked with exposed aggregate, and has raised seating and planting areas with hexagonal concrete edging.

Paving of the Place des Cornières, 1988, Lauzerte, France The main square, Place des Cornieres, features an uplifted corner of pavers, a unique and whimsical sculpture created in 1988 by local ceramic artist, Jacques Buchholtz whose work also appears in the Jardin de la Brèche. The local market takes place in the square on Saturday mornings throughout the year. Wrought iron signs hanging from the exterior of a number of buildings indicate the type of business located within. Lauzerte has a lively artistic community with artists working in such mediums as illuminated manuscripts, artist books, pottery, and textiles.

In July 2011, this artwork was reported stolen. There is a shark sculpture outside The Deep and a fountain and installation called 'Tower of Light' outside Britannia House on the corner of Spring Bank. Part of the Seven Seas Fish Trail, on Lowgate The Seven Seas Fish Trail marks Hull's fishing heritage, leading its followers through old and new sections of the city, following a wide variety of sealife engraved in the pavement. Running along Spring Bank there is also an elephant trail, with stone pavers carved by a local artist to the designs of members of the community.

The rooftop deck at the Fort Collins Lincoln Center is a unique outdoor venue, ideal for parties, wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions or any number of special events. Located on the second floor, just outside the balcony lobby, this 2400 square foot open-air space is situated among the tree tops and overlooks the entrance plaza. The rooftop deck is accessible by the grand staircase or handicapped accessible by elevator. This sophisticated event space features stone pavers, treetop views in the daylight, sparkling Tivoli lights at night and a built-in bar located just inside the lobby.

The courthouse complex occupies the full city block between Fourth, Fifth, San Antonio and Nueces Streets, immediately west of Republic Square Park. The exterior is covered in a mixture of banded limestone cladding, dark stainless steel, and narrow multi-story glazing. The rectangular form sits atop a concrete plinth set back from the streets, creating broad sidewalks on all sides. The segment of San Antonio street between the courthouse and Republic Square Park is closed to vehicles, forming a wide plaza of concrete pavers, wooden benches and shade trees in front of the courthouse's principal, eastern facade.

Denny-Renton Clay and Coal Company, founded in 1892 as Denny Clay Company, was the largest producer of brick pavers in the world by 1905. An industry journal said in 1909 "The clay products of this company have long been a standard for general excellence in Seattle and the entire northwest" and described its products: The factory in Taylor, Washington, was near heavy glacial clay deposits in an high bank used to make the brick, and could produce 100,000 bricks a day in 1907. Hydraulic mining was used to extract clay from the hill. The factory produced 58 million bricks in 1917.

When a modular thermapanel system is set under a concrete slab, re-mesh or rebar within the concrete monolith may be necessary. Hydronic tubes should not be placed directly on top of solid bedrock; this will cause the heating tubes to conduct heat into the earth. Pre-insulated modular thermapanel systems can be laid directly on bedrock or a structural concrete base. To comply with most paver manufacturers warranties and ICPI (International Concrete Paver Institute) specifications, up to 1" of bedding sand for the pavers should be used and shall not exceed a maximum of 1 1/2".

The college buildings were reported to be in very good and highly intact condition as at 27 September 2012. The complex is highly intact. The loose extendable nature of the original planning of the College purposefully anticipated the need for future additional residential rooms and teaching facilities, particularly the planning of the eastern and western wings. One of the few alterations made to the original construction, is the alteration to the sunken courtyard to the East of the Chapel, whereby the original open pavement with ground covers providing margins to the brick pavers has been replaced by a homogeneous brick pavement.

In June 1999, MetroCard vending machines were installed in this station as part of the second batch of the fare-payment technology's installation. In early 2006, work began to make the station fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. As part of the project, the cobblestones around the station entrance near Bowling Green were replaced with granite pavers, an ADA-compliant path was constructed to Bowling Green Park, and a new glass canopy was installed over this entrance. The canopy, which was designed by Dattner Architects in 2003, consists of a curved steel and glass with stainless steel ribs, and is supported by a granite base.

The entrance to Block F retains an area of stencilled, poly-chrome painted concrete slab. The main entrance from Nicholson Street, northeast of Block F, is landscaped with modern pavers and garden beds that contain a range of shrubs. A decorative metal archway (possibly pre-1961), set on modern concrete plinths, frames a pedestrian entrance from the corner of the Warrego Highway and Nicholson Street, featuring "DALBY STATE HIGH SCHOOL" in metal lettering. The splayed open courtyard spaces between the 1950s buildings, which were formed as part of the 1950s planning, are sealed in bitumen, with large areas finished with modern synthetic turf and sheltered by modern open shade structures.

Inside, the ground level has a floor of pavers, white walls, and a flight of concrete steps leading to the second level. The second through fifth levels are all largely alike, with bare concrete floors and ceilings, and exposed brick walls; they connect to each other by a central steel staircase. The sixth level is accessed from the fifth by an attic ladder; it has the same concrete floor and brick walls as the lower levels, but a wooden plank ceiling hides the rafters supporting the roof. The top level houses the loudspeakers of the electronic carillon; the system's controls are below, on the second floor.

Plans to excavate archaeological remains of Fort Townshend, which are largely located under the building, were not defined in the scope of the project. The east portion, originally called the Bellwood addition and farmed by residents of the Stark County Poor House, was annexed to the city in 1911. Except for 25th Street NW, which was paved in 1924 by the city, the remaining streets were paved by private contractors with brick manufactured by Canton's own Metropolitan Paving Brick Company, the largest producer of paving brick in the country. Metropolitan pavers were used in New York's major tunnels and on the Indianapolis speedway. Ridgewood's street lights were manufactured by another Canton firm, Union Metal Manufacturing Company, who built ornamental street lighting standards for first class suburban developments and other uses nation-wide.

A small oval of land centrally located at the campus main entrance was refurbished by the donations of the graduating class of 1989. What was once a concrete square, outside of the library and student center, was transformed with brick pavers and granite curbstones, in a scalloped design that would eliminate all square corners, a concept developed by the outgoing class of 1989 in a "Northeastern News" poll and suggestion to President Ryder and Assoc. Dean of Students Harvey Vetstein was presented to the board of Trustees in March 1988. The "No Corners" campaign kicked off with a fundraiser at the Ell Student Center on Parents weekend in October 1988.

By 1989 Midland Brick employed 850 people, had sales of $100 million annually and produced nearly a million bricks a day, supplying about 80 per cent of the Western Australian market and exporting a proportion. Ric died in 1989 and following his death Gerry sold Midland Brick, in 1990, to Boral Ltd. By the late 1990s Midland Brick was the world's largest exporter of clay bricks and pavers to Japan and South Korea and one of the world's biggest brick and paver exporters overall. Mounted on an octagonal Bowral trachyte base with the muzzle facing Whitlam Square, the memorial is encircled by an iron palisade fence on stone kerbing. The area within the fence is paved with eight large trapezoidal stone pavers aligned with the octagonal base of the memorial. The base is inscribed in gold with the date and purpose of the opening of the memorial and the names of those killed and wounded from the HMAS Sydney in the Emden battle, officers on board and those who received the distinguished service medal. The gun itself is composed of two different elements, a rotating mounting or platform, and the gun barrel proper.

To conform to the elevation changes for the final grade of the road modern pavers use automatic screed controls, which generally control the screed's angle of attack from information gathered from a grade sensor. Additional controls are used to correct the slope, crown or superelevation of the finished pavement. In order to provide a smooth surface the paver should proceed at a constant speed and have a consistent stockpile of material in front of the screed. Increase in material stockpile or paver speed will cause the screed to rise resulting in more asphalt being placed therefore a thicker mat of asphalt and an uneven final surface.

The Wharf District Parks are home to the Mothers’ Walk, a curving pathway that consists of pavers engraved with names and personal messages. The Greenway Carousel at The Tiffany & Co. Foundation Grove, inspired by the imaginations of Boston’s school children, opened on August 31, 2013. Instead of horses, the hand-carved creatures of this carousel are the wildlife found in and around Boston and its harbor; the animals are carved by local sculptor Jeff Briggs from the drawings of Boston school children.

Hunnam was discovered at the age of 17 in a branch of Pavers Shoes on Christmas Eve while clowning around buying shoes for his brother. A production manager for the Newcastle-based children's show Byker Grove approached Hunnam and he was later cast in his first role as Jason in three episodes of the show. He also had a brief modeling career where he did a photo shoot for Kangol Caps and then decided modeling was not for him. Hunnam's first major role came at age 18 when he was cast by Russell T Davies as 15-year-old schoolboy Nathan Maloney in Davies' Channel 4 drama Queer as Folk.

With an easily accessed supply of clay in the area PGH Bricks & Pavers has one of two Queensland production plants located here. On 17 July 2013, a new Woolworths store opened on Oxley Station Road. The Station Oxley Shopping Centre is located at 133 Station Road also contains approximately 15 speciality retail stores and the Department of Disability Services Queensland on the upper level. The former Austral Bricks quarry site in Douglas Street, as well as two other plots of vacant land in the area have been converted to residential estates, providing significant housing to a region and growing city, where strong demand is not being met by supply.

One of the most distinctive spaces for the display of outdoor art in the southeastern United States, this beautiful multi-level sculpture garden features works by artists such as Fernando Botero, Jacques Lipchitz and Auguste Rodin as well as three site-specific artworks commissioned by the Museum: Lithos II (1993) by Elyn Zimmerman, a water wall and pool of textured granite blocks set into the curving east wall of the garden, Blue Pools Courtyard (1993) by artist Valerie Jaudon, featuring inlaid tile pools, plantings, and brick and bluestone pavers and Sol LeWitt’s Bands of Color in Various Directions, commissioned in 2001 in celebration of the Museum’s 50th anniversary.

Seating to this side is also provided, as is a low timber rail fence, bins and a twin telephone booth. Display lighting to the clock tower is located on posts to the front and side of the tower and the footpath is made up of concrete pavers. Kempsey Post Office is generally in good condition; however, some cracking, peeling paint, previous patching and general wear and tear is evident to the interior walls, particularly the ground floor. There is some archaeological potential for the site considering the numerous additions and alterations that have occurred over time and the openness to the rear of the site.

Burns Commons In 2010, the Saint Andrew's Society, in collaboration with the Milwaukee County Parks, organized private donations to fund and install a walkway of commemorative engraved granite pavers around the base of the Burns Monument. With the walkway in place, visitors to the statue can see the monument engravings and bas reliefs up- close without walking through the rose bushes or the flower beds. alt= In 2013, granite benches were privately donated and installed in the Burns Triangle, in collaboration with the Milwaukee County Parks, to allow visitors to sit and view the statue. The granite benches are engraved with selections of Burns's poetry.

CPP and CPR techniques include slab stabilization, full- and partial-depth repair, dowel bar retrofit, cross stitching longitudinal cracks or joints, diamond grinding and joint and crack resealing. CPP and CPR methods, developed over the last 40 years, are used in lieu of asphalt overlays and bituminous patches to repair roads when longer lasting solutions are desired. When installing pavers over top of an existing asphalt of concrete pad, there are three installation options: sand set, bituminous set, and mortar set. Due to rising oil prices, these methods are often less expensive than an asphalt overlay and last three times longer in addition to providing a greener, more sustainable solution.

The station is located at 625 East 400 South (East University Boulevard/SR-186), with the island platform being in the median of 400 South. The vicinity of the station is characterized by intensive and diverse retail development, including supermarkets and the mall in historic Trolley Square (which is one block south), though substantial office buildings and residential areas are also nearby. As part of the UTA's Art in Transit program, the station features tile mosaics, granite pavers, color laminated glass windscreens and steel created by Paul Heath, Victoria Lyons, Michael Moonbird, and Valerie Parker Price collectively entitled Bad Dog Community Art Station. Unlike most TRAX stations, Trolley does not have a Park and Ride lot.

All three paintings were originally purchased by Marinetti, until Nelson Rockefeller acquired them from his widow and later donated them to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Elasticity, 1912 Portrait of Ferruccio Busoni, 1916 Beginning in 1912, with Elasticità or Elasticity, depicting the pure energy of a horse, captured with intense chromaticism, he completed a series of Dynamist paintings: Dinamismo di un corpo umano (Human Body), ciclista (Cyclist), Foot-baller, and by 1914 Dinamismo plastico: cavallo + caseggiato (Plastic Dynamism: Horse + Houses). While continuing this focus, he revived his previous interest in portraiture. Beginning with L'antigrazioso (The antigraceful) in 1912 and continuing with I selciatori (The Street Pavers) and Il bevitore (The Drinker) both in 1914.

Untitled is a large-scale outdoor piece, covering some on a parcel nested between Alewife Brook Parkway (MA-2/US-3/MA-16), the main station entrance, and the massive 5-story parking garage. An elongated artificial pond is surrounded by a grassy area with trees and decorative pavers, intended to be a "usable space for MBTA commuters and community residents" while also serving as part of the drainage system necessary for the large concrete garage structure. Like several other works from the Arts on the Line project, Untitled includes stone monoliths. Arranged around one corner of the work, the large granite bollards are arranged mostly horizontally and vertical save for one angled block resting upon two others.

The unenclosed areas of the ground floor have ceilings lined with flat sheeting (with cover strips in some sections), and a concrete pavement floor scored to resemble square pavers. Below the first floor verandah the ceiling is unlined. The rooms at the eastern end have timber double hung windows (north wall), glass louvres (south wall), internal walls and ceilings lined with flat sheeting with rounded cover strips, and the tapered legs of the timber trusses are exposed within the space. A raised covered walkway with a flat roof links the eastern ends of blocks A and C. Constructed from timber, it is supported by square timber posts and has a three-rail timber balustrade.

The Pavers released two albums, two EPs, a live radio cd, and a variety of split EPs. In the early 2000s, frustrated with major label non- response to music that was lauded by fans and critics, he moved from Buffalo, NY to Austin, TX. He is currently fronting the metal punk band Bonesaw Romance, has recorded an album of more acoustic, lounge-type songs under the moniker Scott Reynolds and the Steaming Beast, and is working with former All band-mate, guitarist Stephen Egerton on another project, 40Engine. Between October 2009 and February 2010, Scott produced and sang back up vocals on the album "Second to All" for local Austin punk band The Butts.The Butts Myspace Site, Myspace.

On successful completion of the prototype program in September 2011, sufficient funds remained to procure long lead-time materials required for the construction. Those materials were the golden onyx stone panels of the backlit facade of each black monolith forming the "golden" passageway between the monoliths, and the stone to be used as cobblestone pavers on the surface of the courtyard. Golden onyx is not indigenous to Australia, and so had to be sourced from overseas. Eventually suitable onyx was sourced from a Mexican quarry which was shipped to Italy for final cutting and polishing of the stone panels and for toughened glass to be bonded to the face of each panel.

By August 2009, digital signs were added to the garage to alert motorists as to how many spaces remain prior to entering the facility. As part of the CATS Art in Transit program, I-485/South Boulevard features several pieces intended to provide a better overall aesthetic for the station. The works include bas-reliefs entitled Skyrocket Oak by Alice Adams, drinking fountain basins designed to look like dogwoods, the North Carolina state flower, by Nancy Blum, games motifs on both the pavers and shelters by Leticia Huerta and the painting of the bridge and retaining walls by Marek Ranis. In late 2008 the station received the Federal Highway Administration's Award of Excellence in the "Intermodal Transportation Facilities" category.

Galerías Pacífico was renovated and reopened in 1991, though Harrods Buenos Aires, which by then operated only on the ground floor, would close in 1998. Mayor Fernando de la Rúa had the textured concrete pavers along Florida replaced in 1999 with granite tiles laid in a decorative black- and-white pattern. Commerce along the street was afflicted in the ensuing years by proliferating street vendors, a result of a legal loophole in the municipal ordinance that otherwise prohibits the practice; Mayor Mauricio Macri succeeded in having these vendors removed in January 2012. Florida Street continues to command among the highest commercial rents in the city, and has become a favorite attraction among the city's growing number of foreign tourists.

To complement the International Convention Centre and Symphony Hall the square was redeveloped in 1989 and renamed Centenary Square to commemorate 100 year since Birmingham attained city status. The £3.5 million construction of Centenary Way, a bridge across the Inner Ring Road linking Paradise Circus to Centenary Square was essential in creating an uninterrupted pedestrian route with the city centre, pedestrians previously had to cross beneath the road in an underground subway. The colonnade at the western end of the square was relocated to St. Thomas' Peace Garden. Artist Tess Jaray designed the railings, street furniture and paving for the square which included 525,000 pavers to be laid out in the design of a Persian Rug.

The Cleveland mayor was the insurgents' candidate for both the short and long Senate term and had been elected in 1895 to his municipal position despite the opposition of Hanna and the Cleveland business community. Rumors flew in Columbus that legislators had been kidnapped by either or both sides, and allegations of bribery were made. James Rudolph Garfield, the late president's son, stated that he had been told by one Republican from Cleveland that he had to vote for McKisson because if he did not, his contracts to sell the city brick pavers would be cut off. According to Horner, In the end, "Hanna's tactics—whatever they really were" succeeded; he was re-elected with the barest possible majority.

Buildings included in the boundary increase of West Canfield Historic District In the early 1870s, numerous brick Queen Anne homes were constructed along Canfield, on spacious lots with generous setbacks. The original platting specified that each lot would measure 50 by 190 feet, and that there would be "a 30 foot setback for sidewalk, shrubbery, and ornamental purposes." West Canfield Historic District from the National Park Service In the early 1980s, the street was narrowed and returned to its original 1870s design with granite pavers, reproduction street lamps were installed, trees were planted, and grassy medians were added. In 1970, the District received state and local historical designation, the first district so recognized in the city.

In other section they have "Fundidora de Cananea, S.A.", a manufacturer of ball mill liners, and "Road Machinery Company de México, S.A." -- which all aforementioned companies together provide approximately 600 jobs and are involved in diverse activities, from cable assembly to steel fabrication. The intent to open a concrete products industrial park north of Cananea was announced in January 2018 by Ing. Glenn Edward Roy E. of "Ferrocret", a conglomerate that shall produce all manner of precast concrete products such as: hydro conduit; walls, floors, and ceilings of affordable housing; drycast concrete pavers; cinder block; concrete railway sleepers. The factories will utilise proprietary fast- cure concrete formulations in combination with the abundant nearly free-of- cost copper slag "escoria" -- an aggregate alternative to expensive riverbed- mined gravel.

A business improvement district has been launched along the Fulton and Nostrand Corridor with a redesigned streetscape to include new street trees, street furniture, pavers, and signage and improved cleanliness in an effort to attract more business investment. Major infrastructure upgrades have been performed or are in progress, such as Select Bus Service bus rapid transit on the route along Nostrand and Bedford Avenues, which began operating in late 2013. Other infrastructure upgrades in the neighborhood includes major sewer and water modernization projects, as well as fiber-optic and cable service upgrades. Improved natural and organic produce continue to become available at local delis and grocers, the farmer's market on Malcolm X Boulevard, and through the Bed-Stuy Farm Share.

The road reached from the Congress Hall to the Märzfeld, the construction work started in 1935 and was finished in 1939 (it has never been used as a parade road, as due to the beginning of World War II, the last rally was held in 1938). The pavement was made of granite pavers in black and gray with edges of exactly . A representative entrance portal and two pylons were planned at the northwestern end of the Great Road. Near the entrance area of the German Stadion a grandstand with a hall of pillars was planned for the government leaders and generals which were to take the salute on Wehrmacht formations which were to march in direction of the parade ground Märzfeld.

The streetscape project increased pedestrian access by narrowing street crossings, slowing traffic, installing protected crosswalks and bicycle lanes on Hosea Williams, and building wider decorative sidewalks. The visual element of the project added historic street lighting, removal of several power poles, decorative brick pavers, trash cans and bike racks. Today, Downtown Kirkwood has become what neighbors call "the small town in the big city," hosting its own post office, newly constructed fire station, police precinct and public library. Residents and visitors also have a host of shopping and dining options at their disposal, including: day spas, furniture galleries, gift shops, restaurants, bars, a wine store, coffee shops, real estate offices, professional/creative spaces, salons, dance studios, yoga studios, and more.

Syd Kearney, author of A Marmac Guide to Houston and Galveston, said that Atascocita was "synonymous with golf, tennis, and other great recreational features on Lake Houston." Harris County Precinct 4 operates the Lindsay/Lyons Park and Sports Complex. The complex has barbecue grills, one barbecue pavilion, 10 lighted baseball fields, 2 lighted American football fields, picnic tables, 2 playgrounds (one is an all-inclusive playground and toilet facility for children of all physical abilities), 4 lighted softball fields, 18 unlighted soccer (football) fields, and toilet facilities. Additions added later in the park's life include a donor pavers garden, sensory garden for children with impaired sight, three 30-seat picnic pavilions, a paved walking trail around the playground, and additional trees.

A perforated wall panel which covers roof supports in the lobby was designed by Olafur Eliasson. It features hexagonal opening and is illuminated from below and behind to create the illusion of melting ice. Other artists involved in the construction include Kristian Blystad, Jorunn Sannes and Kalle Grude, who designed the shape of the pavers on the forecourt and roof; Bodil Furu and Trine Lise Nedreaas, who created a film and video project; Marte Aas, Talleiv Taro Manum, Tom Sandberg, Gerd Tinglum and Nina Witoszek Fitzpatrick, who created the art book Site Seeing; and Linus Elmes and Ludvig Löfgren, who created the foundation stone. The main stage curtain is the work of Pae White who designed it to look like crumpled aluminum foil.

Several documented additions have occurred to Junee Post Office since first construction. These include the extension of the northern side of the two storey-section in -9, the addition of the verandah and a first floor balcony at about the same time, the extension of the verandah with the single storey addition to the north and the removal of the balcony . The eastern facade has an unusually wide, pavement-width verandah on the ground floor which has a low pitched roof clad in corrugated iron with a heavy, dentilled entablature, supported by paired, green painted cast iron posts. The pavement is a combination of bitumen and brick pavers and the soffit is green painted corrugated iron with an ovolo cornice, exposed beams and attached fluorescent lighting.

These two businesses provided AMES with a platform for growth in the UK market are expected to help with building channels to leading garden centers, retailers, and grocers in the UK and Ireland. In Australia, Griffon started 2017 announcing it had acquired Hills Home Living, the iconic brand of clotheslines and home products, from Hills Limited (ASX:HIL). Later, in September 2017, Griffon acquired Tuscan Path, a provider of pots, planters, pavers, decorative stone, and garden décor products. In the United States, Griffon acquired Harper Brush Works, a leading U.S. manufacturer of cleaning products for professional, home, and industrial use, from Horizon Global (NYSE:HZN) in October 2017 to expand the AMES line of long-handle tools to include brooms, brushes, and other cleaning products.

A volunteer committee was created to oversee the proposal, design and construction of a memorial park to honor veteran servicemen. The original project was designed to take place in multiple phases to include future expansion. With the assistance of the local military organizations and civilian clubs, the Oregon National Guard, the city and county of Klamath, as well as multiple donations of citizens, the first phase of Klamath Falls Veterans Memorial Park broke ground in August 2007 and was completed and dedicated three months later, on Veterans' Day, November 11, 2007. Phase 1 of construction included a covered pavilion and benches, flag poles, concrete walkways with red, white and blue fiber optic lights, bronze plaques representing the military branches, monuments depicting various wars, initial memorial brick pavers and landscaping.

Stone walls at southwest corner of original administration block The administration block is a lowset, single- story, timber-framed and masonry structure that is sheltered by a low-pitch gable roof clad in profiled metal sheeting. The building consists of two wings: the original, 1957-8 wing to the north; and a later, -6 wing to the south (the southern wing is not of cultural heritage significance). The exterior of the northern wing is generally clad in metal sheets, with stone walls featured in the southwestern corner and a facebrick feature wall forming the eastern elevation. Original angled concrete steps, concrete pavers and two face brick flower-boxes have been retained in the northwestern corner of the building, and a concrete garden plot survives east of the building, south of a raised concrete slab.

A large selection of his poetry appeared in the Yiddish- language periodicals of Bucharest throughout the 1930s, including Shpitol- Lider ("Hospital poems"), Fabrik-Lider ("Factory poems"), Tfise-Lider ("Prison poems"), the ballad Malkutse Der Gasnfroys Farveynt Harts ("The cried-out heart of the street girl Malcuţa"), and a long poem, Banakhtike Asfalt-Leygers ("Nocturnal Asphalt Pavers"). In 1940 Bessarabia was annexed by the Soviet Union, and Bronshtein, as with almost all other Bessarabian writers, moved back home. Later in World War II, he was mobilized into the Red Army at the outbreak of the German invasion (June 1941) and suffered a penetrating lung wound from shrapnel the following year.

The central part of the memorial includes four tall black granite-clad columns which list all the Philadelphia area Korean War casualtiesthose killed in action, missing in action, or taken as a prisoner of war but never returned and presumed deadfrom each year of the four-year conflict (1950-1953). The memorial also features six granite-clad monoliths with information sandblasted onto the surfaces including the major units involved in the war, specific events and battles, maps of the four phases of the war, laser engraved photographs, and markers honoring other participants such as the nurses of the Korean War. A bronze statue entitled The Final Farewell by artist Lorann Jacobs was added to the site in 2007, along with additional landscaping and granite pavers to create a new platform for the entire memorial.

Approximately 21,500 motorists travel this road daily. The project reconstructed a one-mile segment of Evergreen Road between 10 and 11 Mile Roads, reducing from six and seven-lane roads into a four-lane boulevard, and incorporating two roundabouts, one at Evergreen and Civic Center Drive (south roundabout) and one at Evergreen and the Municipal Campus driveway (north roundabout). Reconstruction included enhancements of landscaping, green infrastructure, irrigation, bollards, planters, LED street lighting, electrical outlets for holiday displays, benches, trash receptacles, bus shelters, mid-block crossings, way-finding signage, historic interpretive panels, shared-use pathways, and sidewalks. Storm water improvements included permeable pavers, bio-retention pond, native plant materials, acquisition of easement for 60-inch storm sewer to improve drainage, replacement of the City's 12-inch water main along the roadway.

The airport observation area from across the street In 2009 and again in 2010 the Tulsa Airport Authority held a fundraising golf tournament to create what they called "a first-class observation area" in an effort to discourage drivers from pulling over on 91st street directly adjacent to the airport to watch the aircraft landing. They initially built six parking spaces outside the fence on the southwest side of the airport. Since the two golf tournaments the Airport Authority has begun to sell brick pavers around the gazebo that will be built on the site and they have begun selling taxiway lights that have been removed and replaced by LED lights, and rewired as LED desk lamps. When complete the observation area will have a gazebo, security guard shack, and restroom.

Rice's wife, two children, both of his parents and two sisters were killed by a tornado on April 21, 1912. Rice had begun the season with the Galesburg Pavers, but left the team after the tragedy. The 1913 Muscatine Wallopers finished 2nd in the Central Association with a 68–54 record. The Muscatine Wallopers played an exhibition game against the Chicago Cubs on June 2, 1913. There were 3,000 in attendance at League Field in Muscatine. Continuing play in the Central Association, the 1914 Muscatine Buttonmakers finished 3rd at 72–53. The Buttonmankers moniker was a reference to buttonmakers, a Muscatine industry, which had a strike in 1911 and 1912. On June 26, 1914, Al Gould of the Muscatine Buttonmankers threw a no–hitter against the Cedar Rapids Bunnies.

For many years, all traffic on Broadway flowed on either side of this median and its subway entrance, and its uptown lanes went past it along the western edge of triangular Verdi Square. In 2001 and 2002, renovation of the historic 72nd Street station and the addition of a second subway control house and passenger shelter on an adjacent center median just north of 72nd Street, across from the original building, resulted in the creation of a public plaza with stone pavers and extensive seating, connecting the newer building with Verdi Square, and making it necessary to divert northbound traffic to Amsterdam Avenue for one block. While Broadway's southbound lanes at this intersection were unaffected by the new construction, its northbound lanes are no longer contiguous at this intersection.

Governors State University Solar-thermal Systems In 2008, GSU renovated several parking lots, replacing asphalt with permeable pavers—interlocking bricks that allow rainwater to seep down, trapping heavy metals and pollutants before they enter storm sewers. GSU is also home to one of the state's largest solar-thermal systems, which preheats water for the campus swimming pool and provides about one-third of the domestic hot water for the university's main building. Governors State University's Wind Turbine On October 21, 2010, Warren Ribley, director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, announced a $153,000 grant for the 50-kilowatt wind turbine to be located on the University Park campus. With the installation of an on-campus wind turbine, Governors State University will continue reducing its greenhouse gas emissions, and move toward its goal of becoming Illinois’ "greenest" university.

In recent months a number of suitcase traders have been supporting the market on a regular basis and this has attracted local interest. The furniture store Haskins, which originated in Shepton Mallet in 1938, has its principal showroom in the High Street within Haskins Retail Centre, which includes a number of others shops including a supermarket, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Ponden Home, Pavers Shoes and an outlet clothing store. Retail jobs in the town increased in 2006–2007 when a new shopping development, including a large Tesco supermarket, a clothes store and other retailers on a site just south of the town centre, which had once been a factory making shoes and later boots. This development attracted national media attention when protesters occupied the site to try to prevent the felling of an avenue of trees dating back to the 19th century.

A heated sidewalk in Holland, Michigan Installation of under-floor heating in Reykjavík, Iceland Heat mats A snowmelt system prevents the build-up of snow and ice on cycleways, walkways, patios and roadways, or more economically, only a portion of the area such as a pair of -wide tire tracks on a driveway or a center portion of a sidewalk, etc. It is also used to keep entire driveways and patios snow free in snow prone climates. The "snow melt" system is designed to function during a storm thus improve safety and eliminate winter maintenance labor including shoveling or plowing snow and spreading de- icing salt or traction grit (sand). A snowmelt system may extend the life of the concrete, asphalt or under pavers by eliminating the use of salts or other de-icing chemicals, and physical damage from winter service vehicles.

Hanna supporters sought to persuade other coalition Republicans to return to the fold—by one account, a Cleveland Republican tearfully refused, stating that if he voted for Hanna, McKisson would cut him off as a supplier of brick pavers to the city. Otis alleged that he was offered $10,000 and was actually paid $1,750.

The flags at the UIS Irish Plaza Led by Ed Neubacher and Mike McGunn, with graphic assistance by Margaret O'Neill,Dedication of the United Irish Societies " Irish Plaza" in Corktown the project began in 2001 when Michigan Department of Transportation granted the United Irish Societies permission to use the property for a commemorative plaza. Funding for project was obtained through the sale of various elements of the landscape and hardscape, the primary components being engraved brick pavers. On Sunday, May 21, 2006 the United Irish Societies Irish Plaza was dedicated as a "memorial for past and present members of the Irish community, and the starting point for the St. Patrick's Parade for present and future generations to come." It continues to be used as the starting point for the Detroit St. Patrick's Parade, and a gathering place for various events in the Detroit Irish community.

The main entry, with a later tiled porch and steps, later doors and board and batten soffit, is located on the corner, the residential entry and porch, with bullnose slate steps, earlier hexagonal pavers and corrugated iron soffit, is at the centre of the western facade. Glen Innes Post Office and residence was reported to generally in very good condition as at 22 June 2000. There is some archaeological potential to the remaining open areas of the site, including the residence yard and rear concrete yard for evidence of former structures and uses. The Glen Innes Post Office appears largely intact structurally, and retains the features which make it culturally significant including architectural features such as the large round arches, hipped slate roof, arcaded porches at street level, along with the prominence of the building in the streetscape and its overall form, scale and style.

The Marks family purchased Helms Bakery in the early 1970s and since then, they have completed a rare feat in Los Angeles - successful transformation and adaptive reuse of a historic structure. Covering the 11 acres, the many improvements include restoring original neon signs on the roofs, creating two historic murals, installing two large photovoltaic solar arrays, restoring the Zigzag Moderne detailing, reinventing retail, home furnishings and eateries, as well as creating a home for top-flight media and arts related companies. To honor the history of the bakery, a small museum was installed inside one of the retail stores. The closure of Helms Avenue to through traffic created a new pedestrian plaza giving the neighborhood a much deserved community space, Helms Walk. The closed portion of Helms Avenue has been developed with trees, lawn areas, a water feature, free Wi-Fi, music and basalt pavers creating a new found space – a meeting place to sip coffee, chat with an old friend or simply “remember the day”.

Granite insets, designed in consultation with the local Māori (Ngati Whatua iwi), as well as recycled redchip pavers from the existing footpath, were used to denote special areas – such as those related to the existence of the old Waihorotiu Stream. New street furniture (such as multi- purpose poles for lighting, signage and pennants) and new trees and other landscaping were added to create a 'boulevard effect'.Auckland's CBD Into the future – Queen Street upgrade (from the Auckland City Council website) The liquid ambers and Nikau Palms chosen for the new design touched off heated public discussion in 2006 as their inclusion came at the destruction of previous, established trees (which were not native flora of New Zealand, and thus not retained in the new landscaping plan). The 2006–2008 project repeatedly increased in cost, from NZ$23 million to around NZ$43.5 million, with some aspects (such as an improved entrance to Myers Park) falling victim to the blowout.

Detail of one of Moretti's Panther statues There are 20 representations of Panthers (cougars) in and about Pitt's campus, including ten painted fiberglass panthers decorated by various student groups that are placed around the campus by the Pitt Student Government. The oldest representations of panthers are four Panther statues that guard each corner of the Panther Hollow Bridge. Other Oakland locations include both inside and in front of the William Pitt Union, outside the Petersen Events Center, "Pitt the Panther" on the carousel in Schenley Plaza, the Panther head fountain on the front of the Cathedral of Learning, and the Pitt Panther statue outside Heinz Field on Pittsburgh's North Shore. This does not include the large image of a Panther embedded into Litchfield Towers Fifth Avenue entrance plaza pavers (best seen from high above) or the panther depicted in a neon artwork "Tree of Knowledge" by Jane Haskell inside the William Pitt Union.

International Fountain in Seattle, Washington Built for the Century 21 Exposition in Seattle in 1962, the International Fountain's original design had changing water and light patterns, with a background of classical music (though the patterns weren't specifically intended to be synched with the music.) The fountain was very large, designed as a concrete bowl around a 'moonscape' of broken limestone, at the center of which was a tiled dome studded with pointy black nozzles. The fountain was not originally designed for interaction but was redesigned in 1995 by WET to make the fountain more inviting, interactive and safe. Switching out the multicolored lights for white, WET added fog nozzles, a ring of their Shooters set into the pavers around the base of the dome, and four large SuperShooters hidden in the upper surface of the dome. The restored fountains behaves as its predecessor did for most of the day, producing changing water patterns as music plays, but it now marks each hour by bringing out other effects, like fog, and performs a choreographed show.

Three structures were conceived: a low banking pavilion anchoring the site at the corner of King and Bay Streets, the main tower in the centre of the site, and another tower in the northwest corner, each structure offset to the adjacent by one bay of the governing grid, allowing views to 'slide' open or closed as an observer moves across the court. The rectilinear pattern of Saint-Jean granite pavers follows the grid, serving to organize and unify the complex, and the plaza's surface material extends through the glass lobbies of the towers and the banking pavilion, blurring the distinction between interior and exterior space. The remaining voids between the buildings create space for the plaza and lawn. Phyllis Lambert wrote of the centre and the arrangement of its elements within the site: More towers were added over the ensuing decades, outside the periphery of the original site—as they were not part of Mies's master plan for the TD Centre—but still positioned close enough, and in such locations, as to visually impact the sense of space within areas of the centre, forming Miesian western and southern walls to the lawn and a tall eastern flank to the plaza.
