She proceeds to partner with Monica upon learning her loyalty and forms a new VC called Bream-Hall together, later agreeing to fund Pied Piper once again after its concept of a decentralized internet was successfully proven. In season 5, Laurie initially offers Pied Piper $30 million in series B funding, but later reveals that she plans to leverage them into collecting user data and other actions, leading to Pied Piper pulling out and fund itself through its ICO, PiperCoin. Laurie later partners up with Yao, a Chinese businessman who owns YaoNet, the version of Pied Piper developed by Jian-Yang, and attempts a failed hostile takeover of Pied Piper's network.

When his team is killed in an ambush by Hernan Reyes en route to the airport to take the fugitives home, he joins Toretto's team to steal Reyes' money, and personally kills a badly-injured Reyes, avenging his team. Faced with the chance to arrest the team after Reyes' death, he instead offers them a 24-hour head start to get to safety before he will start the search again. In Fast & Furious 6, he comes to Toretto for help to bring down Owen Shaw, the leader of an international crime syndicate, recognizing that Toretto's team is the best candidate to match Shaw's own skills. He partners up with DSS Agent, Riley Hicks, who turns out to be a double agent who double-crossed Hobbs and Toretto's team.

Max and Lola then fly to Paradise Island in The Bahamas. Agent Stanley P. Lloyd shows up 6 months later and accuses Burdett of planning to steal the third Napoleon diamond, which is on a cruise ship that will be docking for a week on the island. He denies this, and unwittingly turns the tables and befriends the frustrated detective Lloyd, showing him the pleasures that Paradise Island has to offer, even paying for the most expensive suite, the bridge suite, for as long as Lloyd is there. Lloyd, out of his element, adapts quickly to the easy-going Caribbean lifestyle and partners up with Sophia, a local constable, to try to capture Max at last when he steals the diamond, which Max visits and later gives in to the temptation to steal.

Mount Saint Joseph sponsors many student-inspired clubs such as chain-mail club, the Beatles club, Think Tank, the anime club, the video game club, and an It's Academic team, which won the Baltimore Catholic League in 2001 2007, 2008 and 2013. There is also a chapter of the National Honor Society, as well as an ACE Mentoring program for aspiring engineers. In recent years, the school has begun a Model United Nations team, and has participated in the National History Bee and Bowl since its inauguration in 2010, with at least one of its teams advancing to the national tournament every year. The Drama Club partners up with the local Catholic all-girls school, Mount de Sales Academy to perform two shows each year: a play in the fall and a musical in the spring.
