Hennepin County Park Reserve District (now Three Rivers Park District) acquired the farm property in 1962 when Carver Park Reserve was established, and the farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Since the land was no longer a working farm, the farmhouse was in a process of decay, and trees had begun to grow in the former pastureland. In 1993, the Minnesota Historical Society noticed that the state was losing historic agricultural sites, and it identified the Grimm farm as a high priority for stabilization and preservation. The Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office and the Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources conducted a reuse study and soon began emergency stabilization of the farmhouse.

Many of them, such as Hobiton Lake, Squalicum Lake, Tsuiat Lake, and Cheewhat Lake lie completely within Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, while others such as Doobah Lake and Sprise Lake lie between Pacific Rim National Park and Carmanah Walbran Provincial Park.

The forest offers opportunities for hiking, hunting, picnicking, swimming, and boating. The Lyme portion of the forest provides access to Uncas Pond and Norwich Pond. Boat launches are located on each pond. The ponds and their connecting stream, Falls Brook, sit at the western edge of Becket Hill State Park Reserve.

Cheewhat Giant, also known as the Cheewhat Lake Cedar, is a large western red cedar (Thuja plicata) tree located within Pacific Rim National Park Reserve on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It is the largest living Western redcedar, the largest known tree in Canada and one of the largest in the world.

Thorndon Park Reserve is a public park in the Adelaide suburb of Paradise, South Australia. It was formerly the site of the Thorndon Park reservoir, which was completed in 1860. The village site at Tanu, Haida Gwai. Tanu is designated as a Haida Heritage Site by Parks Canada and the Council of the Haida Nation, and the site is co-managed by the joint venture of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site, though it is not included as part of the park reserve due to its zoning within Tanoo Indian Reserve No. 9. The site today retains three visible house-pits and a number of house-beams along the forest undergrowth, along with a number of monumental poles in various stages of decomposition. It is among the sites covered by the Haida Gwaii Watchmen Program, and has a resident Watchman on- site between May and October each year to welcome visitors and provide information of its history.

Rabbitkettle Hot Springs is a naturally occurring hot spring located in the Northwest Territories of Canada. The springs are found in the Nahanni National Park Reserve, along the South Nahanni River. Rabbitkettle Hot Springs are situated on a limestone plateau and comprise two large travertine mounds. At high and in diameter, the free-standing North Mound is the largest travertine mound in Canada.

All-terrain vehicles are also common in most of the Canadian Arctic. Snowmobiles are used to travel within the city and in the surrounding area. In winter, dog sleds are still used, but primarily for recreation. In winter, the nearby Qaummaarviit Territorial Park and the more remote Katannilik Territorial Park Reserve are only accessible by snowmobile, dog sled or foot.

The Canada National Parks Act classifies national parks where the geographic area is subject to a claim in respect of aboriginal rights that has been accepted for negotiation by the Government of Canada as a "park reserve" which allows for the continuing of traditional renewable resource harvesting activities by aboriginal persons. Related to the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, the Nuu- chah-nulth Tribal Council had submitted a claim in 1980 which the government accepted for negotiation in June 1983. In the early park formation little consultation had occurred with the First Nation groups whose interests in the land they intended to purchase or trade for other similar lands. While seven First Nations claim area within the park as part of their traditional territory, Parks Canada incorporated a working relationship with those interested in its management.

Some sections of the old track are still visible through the park. Level crossings were retained when the tracks were removed. The old line has been replaced with a shared path that joins the Linear Park Reserve and leads to the nearby Capital City Trail. Factories associated with the line have been demolished and the land either returned to the Edinburgh Gardens or sold.

The name Torngat is derived from an Inuktitut word meaning place of spirits, sometimes interpreted as place of evil spirits. The Torngat Mountains National Park Reserve was announced on 1 December 2005. It aims to protect wildlife (caribou, polar bears, peregrine falcon and golden eagle among others), while offering wilderness-oriented recreational activities. In the CBC Series Geological Journey the Torngat mountains are featured.

Medicine Lake Regional Trail is a paved trail which runs from Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove to Luce Line Regional Trail on the south end of Medicine Lake. In between, the trail runs through Fish Lake Regional Park and Clifton E. French Regional Park. A short branch of the trail extends east of French Park into the surrounding neighborhood, ending at a city park.

The St Albans Football Club is an Australian rules football club based at the Kings Park Reserve in Kings Park, a north-west suburb of Melbourne. Founded in 1947, the club had been participating in the Western Region Football League. To date, St Albans has won five Division One Premiers, the most recent success being in 2001. St Albans also claimed the Division Two Premier once.

This involved vandalproofing the windows and doors, replacing the roof, and rehabilitating the foundation. In 1998-99, the interior restoration began, and was completed in 2001. On October 6, 2001, the completion was celebrated with an open house. Located in Carver Park Reserve, the site is now known as Grimm Farm Historic Site and is open to the public during education and special programs.

Gladstone Park Reserve is located on South Circular Road. The park contains a playground, and is connected to the Gladstone Park Secondary College oval via a gate in the south-east corner. It is the home ground of the Meadow Park Eagles, and is adjacent to the Gladstone Park Primary School. Sporting facilities include a synthetic cricket pitch and a soccer pitch and goals.

This division of the park into three sections affected the way in which the park developed. The central section of the reserve was gazetted as a Park Reserve on 18 August 1891 and a School Reserve to the north was excised. The Central Boys and Girls School reserves were possibly also excised at this time. In 1893 Queens Park was transferred to Ipswich City Council.

Retrieved 12 May 2010. and the Princes Street synagogue was deconsecrated in 1969. Ownership of the property reverted to Auckland City Council as part of the Albert Park Reserve following the deconsecration. The building was left vacant and deteriorated over the next two decades, until it was carefully restored under the direction of Salmond Reed Architects in 1989 to serve as a branch of the National Bank.

In August 1907, the Vancouver mountaineers A. Dalton, W. Dalton, A. King, T. Pattison, J.J. Trorey, and G. Warren reached the summit of Mount Garibaldi. The views from the peak inspired the establishment of summer climbing camps at Garibaldi Lake. This early interest led to the creation in 1920 of a park reserve. In 1927, Garibaldi was made into a large wilderness park called Garibaldi Provincial Park.

Clam gardens are found along the west coast of North America. Over 2,000 clam gardens have been identified on the coast of Alaska, British Columbia, Washington and California. Though most clam gardens are currently untended, restoration of sections of previously untended clam gardens are occurring in Fulford Harbour on Salt Spring Island and on Russell Island located in the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve.

William Pearce, a Dominion Land Surveyor was the first to suggest a park be established in the vicinity of Waterton Lakes in his 1886 annual report, although no action was taken by the government. In 1893, Frederick William Godsal, a rancher who resided north of the lakes wrote Pearce referencing his 1886 report and suggested the area be turned into a park reserve, Pearce forwarded the proposal, noting the land had no value for agricultural and minimal grazing potential. Minister of the Interior Thomas Mayne Daly came across the proposal and directed a park reserve be created in the area. Finally on May 30, 1895, Order-in-Council 1895-1621 established a unnamed forest park under the Dominion Lands Act. While oil had been found in the area since the late 1880s, the government began approving reservation and sales of land for prospecting in 1898.

Indian Fields, Nova Scotia is an unincorporated community and provincial park reserve in the Municipality of the District of Shelburne, Nova Scotia, Canada, on Route 203 at an elevation of about 70m. There is an area of meadows. The few households that make up the community are not serviced by Nova Scotia Power. There is an abandoned airfield near the junction of Indian Fields Road and Route 203.

In 2011, the Canadian government created the Sable Island National Park Reserve, which allows further protection of the island and horses. Aside from the island, until 2019, Sable Island Horses lived only at the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. It maintained descendants of Sable Island Ponies removed from the island in the 1950s by the Canadian Department of Transport. The last remaining horse was euthanized in September of 2019.

The South Nahanni River is a major tributary of the Liard River, located roughly west of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories of Canada. It is the centerpiece of Nahanni National Park Reserve. It flows from the Mackenzie Mountains in the west, through the Selwyn Mountains, growing as it heads east over the majestic Virginia Falls, and finally empties into the Liard River. The Nahanni has a unique geological history.

Mount Logan () is the highest mountain in Canada, and the second-highest peak in North America after Denali. The mountain was named after Sir William Edmond Logan, a Canadian geologist and founder of the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC). Mount Logan is located within Kluane National Park Reserve in southwestern Yukon, less than north of the Yukon–Alaska border. Mount Logan is the source of the Hubbard and Logan glaciers.

Moose, black bear, wolf, lynx, snowshoe hares and white-tailed deer are residential mammals of this park. Herons, terns and double-crested cormorants use Birch Island and the nearby small islands and shallows as nesting habitat. The area was first set aside as a park reserve in May 2000 to prepare for the park designation. The area was designated a provincial park by the Government of Manitoba on November 1, 2010.

The Medicine Lake Regional Trail starts at the Luce Line Regional Trail just south of Medicine Lake in Plymouth. The trail starts heading north on the east side of Medicine Lake. The trail then starts heading through the Medicine Lake Park Reserve. The trail then goes north into northern Plymouth where it has crossings with Rockford Road (County Road 9, CR ), Bass Lake Road (CR 10), and Interstate 494 (I-494).

Highway 241 serves as an east-west connector route between St. Michael and Interstate 94/US Highway 52. The maximum speed limit is 60 miles per hour between the junction with Interstate 94 and Wright County Highway 19 in Saint Michael. Highway 241 generally follows the Crow River throughout its route. The Crow-Hassan Park Reserve is located south of the junction of Highway 241 and Naber Avenue (Territorial Road).

Becket Hill State Park Reserve is named for an early settler of the area named Beckwith; the land was part of the Nehantic tribe's territory. In 1961, the land for the reserve was given to the state by the George Dudley Seymour Trust, to become the 76th designated Connecticut state park. Beckett Hill was listed on the Connecticut Register and Manual for 1962 as having 260 acres of undeveloped land.

The suburb began as a housing estate within the St Albans 3021 postcode area which eventually became an official suburb with the same 3021 postcode. The estate began construction c. 1971 with the first stage consisting of Gillespie Road (south), Kings Park Reserve (west), Magnolia Ave (north) and the existing Kings Road (east). At the time Kings Road was a single lane of bitumen with gravel on either side.

Winnebago were the only inhabitants in the area of Maple Grove until 1851 when Louis Gervais arrived and settled. Four years later, in 1855, city growth included a church, town hall and many homes. The Pierre Bottineau House was the first wood frame house built in Maple Grove Township in 1854. The house has been moved from its original location and is currently located in the Elm Creek Park Reserve.

Along with other lakes such as the Great Bear and Athabasca, it is a remnant of the vast glacial Lake McConnell. The lake has a very irregular shoreline. The East Arm of Great Slave Lake is filled with islands, and the area is within the proposed Thaidene Nene National Park Reserve. The Pethei Peninsula separates the East Arm into McLeod Bay in the north and Christie Bay in the south.

The reserve has more than 6,000 rock carvings depicting mostly hunting scenes, human and animal figures. There are also longship illustrations similar to Viking ships. Gobustan is also characterized by its natural musical stone called Gavaldash (tambourine stone).

Although Auyuittuq was established in 1976 as a national park reserve, it was upgraded to a full national park in 2000. There were Inuit settlements in the Baffin Mountains before European contact. The first European contact is believed to have been by Norse explorers in the 11th century, but the first recorded sighting of Baffin Island was Martin Frobisher during his search for the Northwest Passage in 1576.

Rose Harbour is an unincorporated settlement on the north coast of Kunghit Island, on the south shore of the Houston Stewart Channel, in Haida Gwaii. It is within the bounds of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site. It is the only privately-owned property within Gwaii Haanas. Rose Harbour was established as a whaling station in 1910 by the Queen Charlotte Whaling Company and operated until 1943.

Mount Nirvana, at is the unofficial name of the highest mountain in the Northwest Territories, Canada. Currently the Canadian government is working to officially recognize the name Thunder Mountain, reflecting the local Deh Cho first nation name for the mountain. Today, the name Mt. Nirvana is commonly depicted in alpine literature. Mount Nirvana is part of Nahanni National Park Reserve, the largest national park in the Northwest Territories.

Hargrave conducted his heavier-than-air flights on Stanwell Park Reserve Beach. On 3 August 1940, the Lawrence Hargrave memorial was erected on Bald Hill. The monument was placed on Bald Hill to signify Hargrave's work in aeronautics and overlooks the scene of his experiments. The height of this location suggests altitude, as in flight; and the location was also considered appropriate due to the popularity of the site as a tourist destination.

The park reserve—an area of Crown land that has been set aside for potential development and management as a provincial park—has an area of 1,619 hectares, some of which is in Yarmouth County. It has natural and cultural heritage values and provides opportunities for outdoor recreation. It adjoins the Tobeatic Wilderness Area and provides habitat for the endangered mainland moose. It borders several lakes with fresh-water beaches, and sections of the Roseway and Clyde rivers.

Three Rivers Park District is a special park district serving the suburban areas of the Twin Cities including suburban Hennepin, Carver, Dakota, Scott and Ramsey counties. Three Rivers's mission is "To promote environmental stewardship through recreation and education in a natural resources-based park system." Three Rivers operates twenty parks and ten regional trails, with at least two more regional trails planned.

The reserve is an undeveloped, walk-in park with access through the Lyme section of Nehantic State Forest, which is entered from Connecticut Route 156. Bushwhacking is required as no roads or trails cross from the forest to the state park reserve. The reserve's boundary with the state forest is created by Uncas Lake and Falls Brook, a stream that connects Uncas Lake with Norwich Pond. Boat launches for non-motorized craft are located on each.

Lake Catani is an artificial lake in the Mount Buffalo National Park in Victoria, Australia. It was constructed in 1910 under the supervision and probably design of the Victorian Public Works engineer, Carlo Catani, to provide recreational facilities in the newly opened winter resort. The Mount Buffalo National Park was established in 1898 with a 1166 hectare temporary reserve centred on the Eurobin Falls. In 1908 the area was increased to 9240 hectares and became permanent national park reserve.

Cape John Beach is a 3 ha Provincial Park Reserve (protected land that has the potential to be a provincial park) which provides public beach access and habitat for a range of birds. The geology of the area consists of floodplain mudstone, fluvial sandstone, arkosic sandstone, minor amounts of conglomerate and lacustrine limestone all belonging to the Cape John Formation of the Pictou Group of the Stephanian epoch of the Late Carboniferous period, approximately 300 million years ago.

Rosslyn Avenue Reserve, the largest public open area within Clovelly Park The largest park within the suburb is Rosslyn Avenue Reserve, which sits between Rosslyn Avenue and Beverley Street at the northern end of the suburb. Rosslyn Avenue Reserve has a playground, seating and a playing area. The Clovelly Park Reserve lies between Scottish and Australian Avenues. It features a playground, a community hall, electric barbecues and tennis courts that can be hired by the general public.

'Nááts'ihch'oh National Park Reserve is within the Mackenzie Mountains. The park takes its name from Nááts'įhch'oh (Mount Wilson) at the north end of the park. “Nááts'įhch'oh” is the Shúhtagot’ine language description of this mountain and it refers to its unique shape, which is sharp and pointed on the top like a porcupine quill. This area has been travelled and valued for hunting and its cultural importance by the Shúhtaot’ine (Mountain Dene, a Sahtu group) of the Tulita District.

The path effectively follows the route of the old Ashburton Creek, which is now completely barrel drained. The path meets Gardiners Creek Trail at Nettleton Park Reserve near a footbridge over the creek. Following the path is straight forward except at the west side of Glen Iris Rd where it splits in two. Take the south path, cross Glen Iris Rd and continue on the south side of Ferndale Park by the oval and toilet block.

Nielsen Park Reserve may be of state heritage significance as it demonstrates the entire range of human occupation of the site including pre- colonisation. Located facing the Atlantic, Cabrera has beaches, rivers, exotic vegetation and other natural features and attractions. A National Park reserve is located in El Breton, a small section of Cabrera called Cabo Francés Viejo (Cape Old Frenchman). Cabrera’s mainstream religion is the Christian Evangelic Church; this is not true for most towns in the island since Catholicism is the official religion in the Dominican Republic. However, Cabrera has a prominent and recently renovated Catholic church located in the city center.

It also occurs around Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands and the Elizabeth and Middleton Reefs Marine National Park Reserve in the Tasman Sea. There have also been reports from the Younghusband Peninsula in South Australia and north eastern New Zealand. The cape itself is 7 km (4 mi) long and ranges between several kilometres to several dozen metres in width. Both sides of the headland end in high cliffs overlooking treacherous tidal currents in the Minas Channel. Danby was born in Melbourne and lives in Elwood, in his electorate. Danby attended Mount Scopus Memorial College and then enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts at Melbourne University but left without completing the degree. He was President of the Melbourne University Student Union as well as President of the Australasian Union of Jewish Students. From 1980 to 1983 he was an Australian Army Reserve officer cadet with Officer Cadet Training Unit, 3 Training Group, based at Albert Park Reserve and Puckapunyal.

During this time he began to name the limestone monoliths which are a prominent feature of the limestone islands of the archipelago. He photographed and catalogued them in an album. Jomphe's poetry was included in the National Film Board of Canada production, "Le Voyage au bout de la route", directed by Jean-Daniel Lafond. Kings Park Reserve is located on Gillespie Road with facilities for AFL Football, Cricket and Lawn Bowls. It is the home to the St Albans "Saints" Football Club which plays in the Western Region Football League with various Male and Female senior and junior teams playing in the Red & Blue colours made famous by the Melbourne AFL team. The St Albans (Lawn) Bowls Club and a Scout Hall are also located within the reserve and accessed from the Magnolia Ave entry.

Rides were moved around, repainted, and renamed, to give the appearance that the new owners were trying to make an effort. The directors kept putting forward excuses to try to gain an extension, even declaring a trade union ban on their own site. Four days after the government ultimatum passed, the lease was terminated and the Luna Park Reserve Trust was established. Soon after this, the National Heritage Trust added several buildings on the site to its list of protected structures.

The Boreal Cordillera Ecozone, as defined by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC), is a Canadian terrestrial ecozone occupying most of the northern third of British Columbia and southern half of Yukon. Most of the area's population is based in the city of Whitehorse, and it contains most of Yukon's population. The portion in British Columbia is barely populated.

Lyell Island, known also in the Haida language as Athlii Gwaii,Pacofi Bay Lodge Tour 2 is a large island in the Haida Gwaii archipelago on the North Coast of British Columbia, Canada. The island is a part of the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site. Lyell Island was the focus of anti-logging demonstrations that led to establishment of Gwaii Haanas park in 1993. 72 Haida citizens were arrested by the RCMP and charged with Contempt of Court.

Formerly known as Pulpit Plateau, in the 1960s the plateau was cleared for a plantation of Radiata Pine, hence the name. It was purchased by the NSW State Government in 2019 for $2.8 million. On 8 October 2019, NSW Environment Minister Matt Kean announced that Radiata Plateau will be incorporated into the State's national park reserve system. The area houses several species including the spotted-tail quoll, greater glider, and flame robin, while traditional Aboriginal pathway Blacks Ladder runs through the area.

After his death, a warden at Nahanni National Park Reserve informally started calling the dramatic rock spire, in the midst of Virginia Falls, "Mason's Rock". Thorndon Park Reservoir in 1899 The topography of Paradise is mostly flat, with the river Torrens acting as the northern boundary. The site was the location of many market gardens during the 20th century and some of these still remain, as can be seen by contemporary satellite imagery. Housing now occupies much of the suburb. The suburb contains the Thorndon Park Reserve, formerly the site of Thorndon Park Reservoir, built in 1860 and the first reservoir in Adelaide's Metropolitan water supply.

El Torcal de Antequera is a nature reserve in the Sierra del Torcal mountain range located south of the city of Antequera, in the province of Málaga off the A45 road in Andalusia, Spain. It is known for its unusual landforms, and is regarded as one of the most impressive karst landscapes in Europe. The area was designated a Natural Site of National Interest in July 1929, and a Natural Park Reserve of about 17 square kilometres was created in October 1978.

It is east of Havre-St-Pierre, accessible by car along Quebec Route 138. The island is in the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve. Only the first of the river is readily accessible to salmon, which cannot pass a waterfall high at the confluence of Lake Tanguay and the Corneille River. In 2014 a program funded by Hydro-Québec as part of the development of the Romaine River hydroelectric project built a path by which the salmon could pass this obstacle.

A second plaque at the western end of the memorial, honouring Niels Nielsen, was added in 1995. The Park Kiosk dates from 1914 and was the first building commissioned by the newly formed Nielsen Park Reserve Trust to provide refreshment facilities for visitors, reflecting the new status of the park as a recreation ground. Its original form was an octagonally shaped pavilion and in wings were added each side. A small cottage and garage was built adjacent for the Kiosk lessee.

It is inhabited by a variety of wildlife, fish and migratory birds, including the threatened Mealy Mountains woodland caribou herd, and healthy populations of wild atlantic salmon, in decline throughout its range. Other mammals that inhabit this park reserve are wolf packs, black bear, marten and two species of fox. Agreements with the indigenous peoples of the area, including the Innu, Inuit, and NunatuKavut allow for the sharing of various management and planning responsibilities, and the continuation of Indigenous rights in the protected area.

Rhyndarra comprises a two-storeyed rendered brick residence overlooking the Brisbane River towards Long Pocket to the south, a stables to the northwest of the house, and part of the park reserve to the south and southwest of the house, which was formerly part of the grounds. The house and stables are visible from the approach along Riverview Place. The house rests on a raised square-snecked stone base. It has a hipped corrugated iron roof with projecting gable above a hipped bay to the southeast.

Trout Brook Valley State Park Reserve is a parcel owned by the state of Connecticut that is part of the larger Trout Brook Valley Preserve (also known as the Trout Brook Valley Conservation Area), located in Easton, Connecticut. The full conservation area covers and comprises several contiguous parcels in the towns of Easton and Weston, bordering the southeast corner of the Saugatuck Reservoir. It is managed by the Aspetuck Land Trust. The state park portion of the preserve offers opportunities for hiking and hunting.

The oil well and surrounding area was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1965. By 1905 more than half of the sections of land compromising the park had been sold or reserved for oil exploration. On September 21, 1905 Frederick William Godsal wrote the Secretary of the Interior requesting he consider expanding the park reserve for scenic and recreational purposes. The Dominion Forest Reserves Act which came into force in 1906 established the Kootenay Lakes Forest Reserve under the authority of the Superintendent of Forestry.

In 1914 it was resumed by the Bundamba Shire Council for the purpose of a park reserve and after the amalgamation of Councils it came under the jurisdiction of the Ipswich City Council. Australia, and Queensland in particular, had few civic monuments before the First World War. This winding bearing of Highway 4, which features very steep grades, continues for before reaching the southeast shore of Kennedy Lake. Highway 4 then follows the shore of Kennedy Lake southwest for , and reaches a junction with a spur into the settlement of Ucluelet (known locally as "The Junction") later, after which the route continues in a northwest direction. later, Highway 4 enters the Long Beach Unit of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Highway 4 goes through the national park for northwest before terminating later at Tofino.

The stadium was built on the site of the old Lake Oval, which was an historic Australian rules football venue of South Melbourne Football Club. The Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC) is a large swimming centre, which hosted squash, swimming, diving events and table tennis during the 2006 Commonwealth Games. The MSAC is also the home of the Melbourne Tigers that play in the South East Australian Basketball League. In December 2006 polo returned to Albert Park Reserve after an absence of 100 years.

The Queen Victoria Silver Jubilee Memorial Technical College Complex is located adjacent to the Ipswich central business district on a site bounded by Limestone Street to the north, South Street to the south, park reserve to the east and Ellenborough Street to the west. The complex comprises four main buildings which are complementary in design, scale and form and several smaller single storey outbuildings that house toilet facilities and stores. The technical college site also includes two very large shade trees, on the Ellenborough Street boundary.

Lake Winnipegosis is separated from Cedar Lake by a 6 km (3.7 miles) wide (minimum width) land barrier at the north end and from Lake Manitoba by a 3 km (1.9 miles) wide (minimum width) land barrier at the southeast end at Meadow Portage. Birch Island is the largest island on Lake Winnipegosis. The island, located near the middle of the lake, is part of Birch Island Provincial Park, created in 2010, and is adjacent to the Chitek Lake Park Reserve on the eastern shore.

Kluane National Park and Reserve (; ) are two protected areas in the southwest corner of the territory of Yukon. The National Park Reserve was set aside in 1972 to become a national park, pending settlement of Native American land claims. It covered an area of . When agreement was reached with the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations over an eastern portion of the Reserve, that part—about —became a national park in 1993, and is a unit of the national park system administered co-operatively with Parks Canada.

"Just that sense of 'this has to be expressed' — there is no holding back." In 2009 Woodhands took part in an interactive documentary series called City Sonic. The series, which featured 20 Toronto artists, had Dan and Paul describing an illegal outdoor show at the Don Valley Brickworks. In 2011, Werb also participated in the National Parks Project, collaborating with musicians Sebastien Grainger and Jennifer Castle, and filmmaker Catherine Martin, to produce and score a short documentary film about Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve in Quebec.

The next morning a man found her partially concealed body in Lloyd Park Reserve: she had been strangled, stabbed, her throat had been slashed, and a criss-cross pattern was carved into her chest. The mountain has historic significance in British Columbia. It formed one corner of the large land grant given to Robert Dunsmuir to fund construction of the E&N; Railway. A segment of the boundary of that grant later became a boundary of Strathcona Provincial Park. When BC Premier Sir Richard McBride set aside a reserve for the park, his Minister of Lands, Price Ellison, lead an expedition to explore the new park reserve which included the first ascent of Crown Mountain on July 29, 1910.

Clearview sits atop a gentle rise, and from some parts, depending and weather, line of sight right down to Port Adelaide is possible from ground view. This situation gave rise to the suburb name, via its founding company, Clearview Ltd. Most of the original vegetation has been lost due to urbanisation with the exception of areas in the neighbouring suburb of Enfield. Folland Park Reserve and the adjacent Enfield Memorial Park's "Wirra Wonga" (meaning bush grave in the indigenous Kaurna language) contain remnants of mallee box vegetation.

The workshops, which were located to the south-west of the station, became less important after the Maryborough system was linked to the rest of Queensland in 1891. They are no longer extant, having been demolished for a shopping centre in the late 1990s. After the line to Gympie was approved in 1877, drawings for buildings at the Maryborough station were prepared by the Engineering Branch of the Department of Railways. The site chosen for the Maryborough railway station was centrally located on a municipal park reserve.

They were rounded up for private use and sale for slaughter, which by the 1950s had placed them in danger of extinction. In 1960, the Canadian government protected the horses by law in their feral state. From the 1980s on, long-term, noninvasive herd studies have been performed, and in 2007 a genetic analysis was conducted that concluded the herd was genetically unique enough to interest conservationists. In 2008, the horses were declared the official horse of Nova Scotia, and in 2011, the island was declared the Sable Island National Park Reserve.

More than one-fifth of the island is protected as Quttinirpaaq National Park (formerly Ellesmere Island National Park Reserve), which includes seven fjords and a variety of glaciers, as well as Lake Hazen, North America's largest lake north of the Arctic Circle. Stetski had a 35 year career working with national and provincial parks and protected areas. His career began as a naturalist for Pacific Rim National Park Reserve as a summer job while attending the University of Manitoba where he earned a science degree in ecology and education. He worked for Manitoba Parks before moving to British Columbia where he worked as a BC Parks manager for visitor services. He transitioned to the Manager for East Kootenay parks in 1980, and later became the regional manager of the Kootenay parks.

A park system in Hennepin County outside of Minneapolis was proposed as early as 1901, but it was not until 1955 that the Minnesota Legislature passed the legislation that cleared the way to establish the park system in 1957. It was then known as the Hennepin County Park Reserve District. In its first decade, the Park District purchased nearly of property, mostly farmland in Hennepin County's fast-growing suburban areas. In 1967, the Park District began efforts to restore wetland, prairie, woodland, and wildlife habitat to their natural state before 19th-century settlement.

The district's policy is now that at least 80% of the land in a park reserve must be maintained or restored to its natural state, with only 20% of the land or less developed for recreation. Not all the parks in the system are park reserves; some of the smaller or more-developed parks are "regional parks". Beginning in the 1970s, the district's focus shifted from land acquisition to development. The building of recreational facilities including park buildings, beaches, boat launches, paved trails for hiking and biking, and cross-country ski trails began in earnest.

Driftwood logs on Long Beach Long Beach, Vancouver Island Long Beach is the largest and longest beach in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It is located on Wickaninnish Bay between Tofino (NW) and Ucluelet (SE) and is adjoined by campgrounds and picnic areas. The Tofino-Ucluelet highway parallels the entirety of the beach. The beach's consistent surf, exposed to the open Pacific Ocean, established it as one of the earliest and most popular surfing locations in British Columbia.

After receiving the waters of South Nahanni River south of Nahanni Butte and east of the Nahanni National Park Reserve, the Liard turns east and north-east, receiving waters from Grainger River, Blackstone River, Dehdjida Creek, Matou River, Birch River and Poplar River. It then turns north, being followed by the Mackenzie Highway, and receives the Manners Creek before it empties into the Mackenzie River, immediately upstream of Fort Simpson, at Clay Point, at an elevation of . The Truesdell Island and Franklin-Clarke Island are formed at the river mouth.

Sable Island Horses Since 1960, the horses of Sable Island, unlike those in the rest of Canada, were protected under the Sable Island Regulations section of the Canadian Shipping Act. Following the designation of Sable Island as a National Park Reserve in December 2013, the horses are now fully protected by Parks Canada as wildlife under the Canada National Parks Act and the National Parks Wildlife Regulations. Parks Canada considers the Sable Island horses as 'naturalized wildlife’ and, as such, they are being managed as a taxon equal to other species living on the island.

Lying in just of water, the wreck is accessible to sport divers and has become a popular dive site. In 1970, the wreck was made a part of Parks Canada's Pacific Rim National Park Reserve as a Shipwreck of National Historical Significance. In 2011, the Department of National Defence organized a survey of the wreck site following reports of unexploded munitions being seen by divers. In March 2017, The Royal Canadian Navy sent divers to conduct a survey of the wreck and develop a plan to remove the unexploded munitions.

Nitinat Lake is a large lake and inlet on the southwestern coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The lake is about northwest by road from Victoria, BC's capital on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, and about southwest by road from the town of Lake Cowichan. The town of Port Alberni is about by road to the north. The southern end of the lake lies in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, which also contains Nitinat Hill on the lake's northern shore and Nitinat Cone on the southern shore.

White's Creek Aqueduct was listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 18 November 1999 having satisfied the following criteria. The Gate, Second Canyon Mason's Rock in the centre of Virginia Falls The Dene, sometimes called Slavey, peoples have used the lands around Nahanni National Park Reserve for thousands of years. The first human occupation of the area is estimated to have occurred 9,000-10,000 years ago. Evidence of prehistoric human use has been found at Yohin Lake and a few other sites within the park. The local oral history contains many references to the Naha tribe, a mountain-dwelling people who used to raid settlements in the adjacent lowlands.

Mount Wellington, officially kunanyi / Mount Wellington , incorporating its Palawa kani name (Nuenonne: unghbanyahletta or poorawetter), is a mountain in the southeast coastal region of Tasmania, Australia. It is the summit of the Wellington Range and is within the Wellington Park reserve. Located at the foothills of the mountain is much of Tasmania's capital city, Hobart. The mountain rises to above sea level and is frequently covered by snow, sometimes even in summer, and the lower slopes are thickly forested, but crisscrossed by many walking tracks and a few fire trails.

Campbell Falls State Park Reserve is an undeveloped, public recreation area and nature preserve located in the town of Norfolk, Connecticut. The state park offers hiking, stream fishing, and views of the park's namesake waterfall which cascades nearly on the Whiting River just north of the Connecticut/Massachusetts state line. Legislation passed in 1923 and 1924 provided for the joint management of the park after the land was donated to the two states by the White Memorial Foundation. A stone monument within the park marks the border between the states.

Quttinirpaaq National Park is a Canadian national park. Located on the northeastern corner of Ellesmere Island in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, the most northerly extent of Canada, it is the second most northerly park on Earth after Northeast Greenland National Park. To the south of the city centre are the Timaru Botanic Gardens, first laid out in 1864, with a notable collection of roses and native tree ferns. To the west is the Centennial Park Reserve, opened in 1940, that includes a tranquil 3.5 km walkway following the wooded valley of the Otipua Creek. The DB Mainland Brewery in Sheffield Street offers tours and tasting sessions. The Caroline Bay Carnival, featuring live performances, games, and side shows, takes place from Boxing Day through to mid-January at Caroline Bay Park.

In 1991, the Osoyoos Desert Society was founded with the goal of protecting this unique ecosystem. As part of its conservation efforts, the society constructed the Osoyoos Desert Center, an interpretive centre with the goal of spreading awareness of the region's unique ecology and promote conservation. In 2003, Parks Canada and the Government of British Columbia began formally assessing the viability of a national park reserve in the South Okanagan. In 2006, Parks Canada drafted a park concept of in cooperation with the Government of British Columbia and local residents.

Railway Station, Qualicum Beach Highway 19A, known as the Oceanside route or the Old Island Highway, runs the length of the town along the shore line of the Strait of Georgia. The modern 4-lane Inland Island Highway, (Highway 19), is nearby. The Qualicum Beach exit is also its junction with Highway 4, which runs through Cathedral Grove to Port Alberni and to Tofino, Ucluelet, Bamfield and the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve on the south-west coast of the Island. Scenic, flight training and charter flights are offered by Qualicum Flight Center.

Mono Pond State Park Reserve is a public recreation area covering in the town of Columbia, Connecticut, southwest of Willimantic. The state park surrounds Mono Pond, a body of water averaging depths of with an area near the dam reaching a depth of . The park offers fishing, hiking, picnicking, cross- country skiing, bow hunting, and a boat launch for motorized (8-hp limit) and non-motorized boating. The park is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and was added to the roll of Connecticut state parks in 2008.

Recently, WCS Canada conducted research on three focal species in Nahanni National Park Reserve - grizzly bear, caribou and Dall's sheep. These studies provided scientific support for a massive expansion of Nahanni National Park (from 1,862 square miles to 12,000 square miles) to help ensure its ecological integrity. WCS Canada also undertook research in the Western Arctic including understanding the terrestrial food web, assessing the threat of mining, and polar bear conservation.

A small visitor's centre with viewing platform is located on top of a hill overlooking scenic waterfalls, tidal flats and traditional fishing sites. Nearby on an island near Peterhead Inlet, is the Qaummaarviit Territorial Park. It is a site with a long Inuit history and numerous artifacts have been recovered, including the remains of 11 semi-buried sod houses. A little farther, across Frobisher Bay, are the Katannilik Territorial Park Reserve and the Soper River, a Canadian Heritage River, forming a park corridor linking Iqaluit along traditional overland travel routes with Kimmirut (formerly Lake Harbour).

Pacific Rim National Park Reserve is a park located in British Columbia, Canada, which comprises three separate regions: Long Beach, the Broken Group Islands, and the West Coast Trail. It represents the Pacific Coast Mountains landscape, which is characterized by rugged coasts and temperate rainforests. Widespread vegetation found in the park includes western hemlock, Sitka spruce, western red-cedar, deer fern and sword fern. Animal species vary from marine and intertidal species, such as humpback whales and ochre sea star, to terrestrial mammals, such as Vancouver Island wolves.

Fort Simpson is the regional centre of the Dehcho and is the gateway to the scenic South Nahanni River and the Nahanni National Park Reserve. Fort Simpson can be reached by air, water and road and has full secondary and elementary school service. The Mackenzie Highway was extended to Fort Simpson in 1970-71. The central section of the community is on an island near the south bank of the Mackenzie River, but industrial areas and rural residential areas are located along the highway as far as the Fort Simpson Airport, just beyond which is the Liard River ferry crossing.

On October 17, 2011, the Nova Scotia government entered into an agreement with the federal government to eventually protect the Island as a national park. The news followed an announcement made by the federal government in May 2010, increasing the level of protection the island receives by transferring control from the Canadian Coast Guard to Parks Canada, which manages the island under the National Parks Act. Sable Island became a National Park Reserve on June 20, 2013 with approval of Mi'kmaq stakeholders. Full national park status has yet to be achieved, pending settlement of native land claims.

County Road 19 is a county route in Washington County that serves the cities of Lake Elmo, Woodbury, and Cottage Grove. County Road 19 begins at the entrance to Lake Elmo Park Reserve and is named Keats Avenue. 19 has a major intersection at 10th Street (Washington County 10) and then at Interstate 94 before entering Woodbury and taking on the name Woodbury Drive. In Woodbury, County Road 19 has major intersections at Valley Creek Road (Washington County 16) and Bailey Road (Washington County 18), where there is a roundabout, before entering Cottage Grove and readopting the name Keats Avenue.

The group is protected as the Broken Islands Group Unit of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, which includes Long Beach, between Ucluelet and Tofino to Barkley Sound's northwest, and the West Coast Trail between Port Renfrew and Bamfield, which is to the southeast. The group lies between Imperial Eagle and Loudon Channels and includes Brabant Islands, Hand Island, but not Pinkerton Islands. The southernmost of the group is Cree Island, the easternmost is Reeks Island. Benson Island, on the northwest corner of the Broken Group, is an important cultural site for the Tseshaht First Nation.

He moved to South Africa and continued his work with large African mammals, including elephant and rhinoceros transport. His work was absolutely vital in the creation of many South African game reserves, in particular the Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Park reserve in northern Kwazulu-Natal, where his work with Ian Player was vital in preserving the white rhinoceros. He also had a vital role in the saving of thousands of animals marooned on small islands created by the rising waters of the newly formed Kariba Dam in 1959-1960 in Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). The campaign to save the animals was dubbed Operation Noah.

As a result, the two governments agreed to co-manage the land of the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site, and committed to creating a marine agreement in the future. In 2009, the Kunst’aa Guu–Kunst’aayah Reconciliation Protocol was formed, which outlined Haida and Crown land titles, and in 2010 the Gwaii Haanas Marine Agreement was ratified to protect the marine ecosystem of southern Haida Gwaii. Of those who were arrested during the blockades, 10 were convicted of mischief according to Section 387 of the Canadian Criminal Code. However, none served any jail time.

Clo-oose (tluu7uus in the Nuu-chah-nulth language) is a village of the Ditidaht people in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is located just southwest of the west end of Nitinat Lake in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve on the west coast of Vancouver Island, about south of Port Alberni. Its population is approximately 50BC Stats – Census 2001 and consists of members of the Ditidaht First Nation. The village is located entirely on Claoose Indian Reserve No. 4 but the name refers to the locality beyond the reserve also, which has in the past had non-native residents.

This is supported by 2011-12 excavations overseen by Dr Jon Prangnell of the University of Queensland, which showed no evidence of the continuation of the brick drain in the yard between the store and William Street retaining wall. There is some potential to find artefacts in the land now occupied by Miller Park. The land adjacent to the north-west of the Commissariat Store was officially gazetted as a park reserve in 1980 and named Miller Park after Captain Henry Miller, the first Commandant of the Moreton Bay penal settlement.lan H Spry & Associates, p.29.

There are mature Banyan trees along The Strand boundary, just outside the park reserve, and early garden beds along the street and throughout the park. More recently planted palm trees are scattered throughout the park. Anzac Memorial Park forms a garden setting for a number of adjacent buildings of cultural heritage significance, including the former Queen's Hotel and former Customs House along The Strand, further up on Wickham Street, the State Government Offices and at the corner of Cleveland Terrace and Melton Terrace, the former Supreme Court Building. Anzac Memorial Park contains a number of memorial structures.

By 1910, the needs of the station had again outgrown the building, and approval was given for the erection of a new police station in Woolloongabba. A portion (adjacent to a former Quarry Reserve) of the Woolloongabba Park Reserve facing Main Street was set apart as a Police Reserve thereby avoiding the need for the Government to purchase land for the new station. The design for the new building was prepared in 1911; AB Brady being Government Architect at the time. The contract sum for the building, which was completed and occupied in 1913, was £4,539.

A Persian onager at Chay Bar Yotvata, Israel Asiatic wild asses are highly and legally protected; hunting them is forbidden. The European Endangered Species Programme reserved for European Association of Zoos and Aquaria is helping save the Persian onager from extinction, by breeding them in captivity and reintroducing them to their former ranges, including in new locations once inhabited by Syrian onagers in Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Ukraine. On August 30, 2014, Iranian officials reported that three Persian onagers were born in Khar Turan National Park reserve near Shahroud in Semnan province, where it also has the largest populations of the equids.

A giant cedar on Meares Island in Clayoquot Sound The land around Clayoquot Sound includes vast coastal temperate rain forest, rivers, lakes, marine areas and beaches. It includes part of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and some of Strathcona Provincial Park. The total size of the Clayoquot Sound region, including both land and water, is . More than 200,000 hectares have been part of a multi-year study using Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping (TEM) to identify areas prone to geologic and geomorphic hazards, in particular, landslides, soil erosion, and sedimentation, as well as identify and characterize terrain conditions associated with these hazards.

The creek is small in size and width and moves through numerous private properties. The upper portion of the creek has the Strettle Road Reserve on its north side - which is at the west end of Mahogany Creek which although completely a regenerated plot of land following extensive firing and logging in the last hundred years is a significant reserve. Near the ex- Statham quarry in Glen Forrest it enters into its first reserve, the Thomas Park reserve. In Glen Forrest the Glen Forrest Super Block is on its south side just prior to the border with Darlington and near Devil's Terror.

She received positive media coverage in late 2011 for her strong performance during Question Period, and was seen as a rising star within the Conservative caucus. Auyuittuq National Park (, , "the land that never melts") is a national park located on Baffin Island's Cumberland Peninsula, in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, the largest political subdivision of Canada. The park was initially known as Baffin Island National Park when it was established in 1972, but the name was changed in 1976 to its current name to better reflect the region and its history. It features many terrains of Arctic wilderness, such as fjords, glaciers, and ice fields. Although Auyuittuq was established in 1972 as a national park reserve, it was upgraded to a full national park in 2000.

The Sulphur Springs Park Reserve is a historic former spa area at the heart of Sulphur Springs, Benton County, Arkansas. The area is bounded on the east by Lake LaBelladine, impounded by a dam on Butler Creek which has surviving parts dating to its 1889 construction, and includes landscaped parkland and a cluster of buildings and mineral springs to its west. The buildings include city hall, a former bathhouse built in 1924 and converted to its present use in 1949. The mineral springs were developed beginning in 1884 as a curative spa and resort, which resulted in the eventual formation of the city.

One of the concerns brought up by the area residents was regarding the "traditional land uses by Labradorians", which include "the continuing use of personal cabins, boil-ups (lunch and picnic fires), cutting wood for personal use, gathering medicinal and healing herbs, berry picking, fishing, and hunting, trapping and snaring small game". In May 2008, the committee concluded that a park was feasible. The park will start as a reserve due to unresolved land claims negotiations with Innu people in the area. A National Park Reserve is an area that has been set aside with the intention of becoming a national park, pending the settlement of land claims.

Otahuhu United is a football club in Auckland, New Zealand. Otahuhu United was formed in 1975 as a breakaway side from the Courier Rangers club, formed by parents and junior players unhappy with the organisation of that club. Initially sited at Bert Henham Park, the side were granted the right to play as part of the Auckland Association on the condition that only junior clubs could be fielded for the first three years. The club fielded numerous junior teams, playing in strips modelled on those of English side Norwich City F.C. In 1990 the club moved to Seaside Park Reserve, the former home of Courier Rangers.

The two reefs also form a Ramsar site, having been listed as Ramsar Site 1223, on 21 October 2002, under the Ramsar Convention as a wetland of international importance.

Tourism contributes significantly to the local economy due to the town's position near the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve, a park encompassing a large number of islands in Mingan Archipelago of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. It is noted for the unique variety of flora and fauna to be found there, such as puffins and the rare Mingan Thistle, and for the unique geological features on many of the islands, which are referred to as "monoliths". The town is also noted for the excellent fishing, being made up largely of snow crab, scallops, and lobster, with excellent salmon and trout to be found in the numerous rivers and lakes.

In 1974, the National Parks Act was further amended to include provisions for traditional hunting and fishing within national park reserves. This was the first time that Parks Canada had adopted the concept of cultural landscapes and park reserves became a new concept as land set out for a future national park pending the settlement of an unresolved land claim. Section 40 of Canada National Parks Act (2000) stipulates the right of traditional harvesting by stating, "the application of this Act to a park reserve is subject to the carrying on of traditional renewable resource harvesting activities by aboriginal persons" (2000, c.32, s.40).

Looking Around and Blinking House at Hlk'yah Gawga (Windy Bay) Hlk'yah G̱awG̱a, also known as Windy Bay, is located on Athlii Gwaii (Lyell Island) in southern Haida Gwaii, British Columbia. The site was historically the location of a Haida village named Hlk'yah Llnagaay, meaning Peregrine Falcon Town in English. In the 1980s, Hlk'yah G̱awG̱a was the focus of a series of lawsuits and protests opposing clearcut logging on the island. These demonstrations were the impetus for the signing of the Gwaii Haanas Agreement of 1993 and the creation of the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, National Marine Conservation Area Reserve, and Haida Heritage Site.

As a result of pressure stemming from the media's coverage of the logging protests on Athlii Gwaii, Canada and the Province of British Columbia’s governments entered into negotiations with the Council of the Haida Nation in 1987. In 1988, the South Moresby Agreement was signed, designating Gwaii Haanas as a national park reserve. In 1993, the Gwaii Haanas Agreement was signed by the Council of the Haida Nation and the Government of Canada. This agreement acknowledged the two governments' differing viewpoints regarding ownership of the lands constituting Gwaii Haanas, yet found common ground in the desire of both parties to protect and care for it.

Queens Park was listed on the Queensland Heritage Register on 27 September 2002 having satisfied the following criteria. The place is important in demonstrating the evolution or pattern of Queensland's history. Queens Park is important in demonstrating the pattern of development in Queensland, being an early park reserve intended to serve the scientific and economic needs of the colony as a botanic garden and also as a place of resort for public recreation. It is also associated with the development of several sports organisations in Ipswich, the croquet, bowls and lawn tennis associations having facilities in the park from early in the 20th century.

Tyler York () is a Haida woodcarver and actor from Haida Gwaii, British Columbia, Canada. He is most noted for his performance in the Haida-language film Edge of the Knife (), for which he won the Vancouver Film Critics Circle award for Best Actor in a Canadian Film at the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards 2018. As a carver, York was an apprentice under Jaalen Edenshaw, working together on a totem pole for the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site — first new totem pole to be erected in the park in over a century. York also plays basketball, where he is a "crowd favorite and fierce competitor".

Bayview Park ferry wharf is a commuter wharf located in the Sydney suburb of Concord, New South Wales, on Hen and Chicken Bay. It is situated adjacent the namesake Bayview Park reserve, and upon the site of the historical Burwood ferry wharf, where Canadian exiles from the 19th century Lower Canada Rebellion landed in Sydney. Bayview Park was originally serviced by a Matilda Cruises route, before being included on Sydney Ferries' Parramatta River service in 2006, after a brief one-year service by Palm Beach Ferries. Services to the wharf were decommissioned by Sydney Ferries in October 2013, alongside after patronage declined to a weekly average of 28 passengers.

The Whiting River is a southward-flowing stream located in Massachusetts and the far northwest corner of Connecticut in the United States. The river runs for seven miles from its source at the Thousand Acre Swamp in New Marlborough before emptying into the Blackberry River in North Canaan. The river follows a curving southwesterly course for four miles in Massachusetts, passing over 100-foot-high Campbell Falls at Campbell Falls State Park Reserve, where it is joined by the northwest-flowing Ginger Creek. It flows south for 2.78 miles from the state line north of Canaan Valley to its mouth on the Blackberry River in Connecticut.

Located in northern Canada, the territory borders Canada's two other territories, Yukon to the west and Nunavut to the east, as well as three provinces: British Columbia to the southwest, and Alberta and Saskatchewan to the south. It possibly meets Manitoba at a quadripoint to the extreme southeast, though surveys have not been completed. It has a land area of . Local people felt that they had no say on the creation of the North Western Motorway, town planning, the extension of Queen Street to Dominion Road and New North Road through Basque Park Reserve and the lead pollution from petrol that had been inflicted on the area and was to be perpetuated with the new motorway. As a result, the Foreshore Resumptions Scheme was established in 1911 and Nielsen Park was created and named in honour of the Minister for Lands Mr. Niels R W Nielsen, the Secretary for Lands. The Hermitage Foreshore Reserve and Strickland House were also reclaimed at this time. The newly created Nielsen Park Reserve was a total of 51 acres of land and it included: Shark Beach, Bottle and Glass Point and the W C Wentworth Trustee's land around Mount Trefle as well as a parcel of land belonging to George Donaldson containing a house and stables at the summit of Mount Trefle. Greycliffe was not included in the first resumption.

Although both provinces admitted it would take decades to plan, working with Aboriginal and local communities and ultimately mapping out precise boundaries of the areas off-limits to development, the measures were touted to create some of the largest protected areas networks in the world once completed. Since then, however, very little action has been taken. For instance, in February 2010 the Canadian government established limited protection for 13,000 square kilometres of boreal forest by creating a new 10,700-square-kilometre park reserve in the Mealy Mountains area of eastern Canada and a 3,000-square-kilometre waterway provincial park that follows alongside the Eagle River from headwaters to sea. Images of the ruins of SG̱ang Gwaay llnagaay are emblematic of Haida culture and of Haida Gwaii and are featured in tourism promotions for the islands and the province at large. The site is extremely remote, and access is only by sea or air from towns in the northern part of the islands. To protect the valuable Haida Heritage Sites, the Haida operate a Watchmen program, stationing Haidas at traditional village sites throughout Haida Gwaii including within Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site. The Watchmen ensure that visitors are acting in an appropriate manner and maintain a presence on their traditional territories.

The former Cleveland Police Station and Courthouse is an example of one of a number of courthouse types developed by the Government Architect for use throughout country Queensland and in suburban areas. The Cleveland Courthouse was a purpose-designed building, reflecting the estimated level of use, accommodating the particular needs of the local community, sited to constitute a strong civic presence to that part of the town. A motel now occupies the post and telegraph office site to the south-east; however, there is clear evidence in the park reserve, in the mature tree planting and the war memorial, of the early role of this area as an important civic precinct.

The far southern reaches of the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys are part of a threatened xeric shrubland ecosystem in Canada known as the Columbia Plateau ecoregion. Specifically, the ecosystem of the area is named after the antelope brush plant typical of the local climate. This ecosystem was once more prevalent in the South Okanagan but is now becoming fragmented and degraded due to the spread of agriculture, urban development, and other human activities. Since 2003, a feasibility study by Parks Canada has been going on to determine the need for protection of a large area of grasslands west of the town known as the South Okanagan-Lower Similkameen National Park Reserve Feasibility Study.

In 1895, Alderman James Hipwood made reference to: :That concrete water-tables and asphalt footpaths be laid on foot-path through reserve, leading from Wickham terrace to Turbot street; This reserve owned by the State Government was one of several parcels of parkland including the Observatory reserve, and municipally-owned Wickham Park. It is unclear when Jacob's Ladder was recognised by that name, but there are references to its existence by that name from as early as 1897. This may have been about the same time as Turbot Street was extended from Albert Street east to Edward Street, as well as the relatively new Central railway station. The adjoining park reserve was known for its amorous couples by 1904.

Luna Park Sydney is a heritage-listed amusement park located at 1 Olympic Drive, Milsons Point, North Sydney Council, New South Wales, Australia, on the northern shore of Sydney Harbour. The amusement park is owned by the Luna Park Reserve Trust, an agency of the Government of New South Wales, and was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 5 March 2010. The park was constructed during 1935 approximately from the northern approaches of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and ran for seventy-month seasons until 1972, when it was opened year-round. Luna Park was closed in mid-1979, immediately following the Ghost Train fire, which killed six children and one adult.

It is located between Port Phillip and Albert Park Lake, which is about halfway across the western side of the Albert Park Reserve (a state park), hence the name "Middle" Park. It is bordered by Canterbury Road to the east, Mills Street to the north, Fraser Street to the south and Beaconsfield Parade to the west. Middle Park, along with neighbouring Albert Park, contains some of the best preserved terrace house and Victorian architecture in Melbourne and is part of a strict heritage-conservation area. Many of the terraces line Canterbury Road, along the former railway line, which now has several more tram light rail stops since it was converted to tram use in 1987.

The place demonstrates rare, uncommon or endangered aspects of Queensland's cultural heritage. Queens Park was one of three government reserves for gardens located at the early settlements of Ipswich, Toowoomba and Warwick, other of which were later established in a few other key regional centres. The place is important in demonstrating the principal characteristics of a particular class of cultural places. It is a good example of its type, being an early Queens Park Reserve for botanic and recreational purposes, which began under the aegis of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens and the administration of boards of trustees chosen from prominent local citizens, then eventually passing into the control of local government authorities.

Mrs Downey surrendered her lot in the following year and the entire reserve was re-gazetted on 12 November 1925, measuring and . The early playground on the site was along the Water Street boundary, another park reserve was gazetted around the former quarry site, which the Playground Association assumed in recent years, increasing the size of the original playground. Few early plans of the Spring Hill playground have been located, it seems, however, that it was originally planned with three principal sections divided by fences; the boys were closest to the Love Street end of the site and the girls at the Quarry Street end, divided by the infants section which was centrally located.

As the town of Emu Park developed, the Emu Park Progress Association, sought to preserve an area facing Fisherman's Beach close to the town. It was an area of greenery, that was considered to be unique in the area. Correspondence of 9 December 1889 requesting the improvement and proclamation of the area as a Park reserve was sent from the Gogango Divisional Board to the Under Secretary for Lands in Brisbane. This request, was initially rejected, but was however, successful later, when in 1892, an area was set aside as a Reserve for Public Purposes. The same area was re- established, in 1899, as a Reserve for Botanic Gardens and Public Purposes.

The remains of Fort McNab were designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1965 as being reflective of the significant changes in defence technology that occurred in the late 19th century. Today, of McNabs Island's total area of approximately , the Province owns 62 percent, the Federal Government 35 percent, and 3 percent is privately owned. Most federal lands on the island are administered as a park reserve by the Department of Heritage, under the responsibility of Parks Canada who manages the Fort McNab National Historic Site of Canada, except for the Fort Hugonin lands of approximately 11 ha under the responsibility of the Defence department. The Province of Nova Scotia manages a Provincial Park.

Byron Avenue Reserve, which resides next to the old Clovelly Park Scout Hall on Byron Avenue, encompasses 0.49 hectares which are in the process of being revegetated with pre-European flora. The reserve contains 200-year-old river red gums, and used to include Viaduct Creek before the creek was built over as part of the Chrysler/Mitsubishi development. Finally, hidden behind units on Cohen Court and the southern end of Windsor Avenue is a small reserve containing seating and a playground. Although not located in Clovelly Park, the adjacent Mitchell Park Reserve on Bradley Grove provides a full-sized playing oval, a community hall, tennis courts, barbecues, large open spaces and two playgrounds.

The site is of considerable historic significance as it represents the picturesque aspirations of wealthy members of society during this period, and how a European landscape aesthetic was implemented in the Australian context. The intactness of Greycliffe, together with associated stables, coach house, gardener's cottage and the landscape setting contributes to an understanding of the cultural history of NSW. Nielsen Park Reserve represents an early 20th- century appreciation by both citizens and the State Government of the value of an important harbour side landscape. For a century, Nielsen Park has epitomised the recreational value of Sydney Harbour and is one of the first major recreational reserves created along the southern shore of Sydney Harbour.

Cairns War Memorial, at the intersection of Abbott Street and Shields Street, circa 1934 The Cairns War Memorial, facing Trinity Bay to the north-east, is located in a park reserve on the Esplanade near the junction with Florence Street. The WWI monument is located opposite the Cairns RSL at the corner of Florence Street, and is clearly visible from both the road and a walkway along the foreshore. The view from the road, with the WWI monument, a symbol of great sacrifice, juxtaposed against a tranquil, palm-lined setting overlooking the ocean, is particularly evocative. A memorial garden walkway, surrounded by trees and shrubs, is located north-west of the WWI monument.

The Corporate Town of Brighton was proclaimed on 25 November 1858 by severance from the District Council of Brighton, the latter later changing its name to Marion to avoid confusion. The town boundaries extended from the modern Yarrum Grove, Boundary Road and Oaklands Road (Somerton Park), in the north, to Kingston Park reserve, Kingston House, Scholfield Road (Kingston Park) and Arthur Street (Seacliff Park) in the south. On the west it was bounded by the coastline and on the east by the modern Brighton Road (Somerton Park), MacArthur Avenue (Hove), Winton Avenue (Hove), Neath Avenue (South Brighton) and Davenport Terrace (Seacliff Park). The inaugural councillors named in the 1858 proclamation were: Francis Corbet Singleton, Pitt Cobbett, George William Chinner, William Home Popham, and William Voules Brown.

The proposed site for Jazan Economic City is bounded by the Red Sea waterfront on the west, a new proposed road on the east that leads to Jizan City, and an existing road on the north that leads to the neighbouring Baysh Town 24 km away. Further up north is the nature park reserve - Baysh Park - that provides a contrasting landscape amidst the uniform desert environment. This green park along the coastline is a protected area of importance for the preservation of native wildlife, flora, and fauna. Measuring approximately 12 km x 8 km (excluding proposed land reclamation works over an existing swamp, thus yielding a final site of 103 km2), the site is generally level with wind coming in a north-westerly, south-easterly direction.

In 1997 the Department of Land & Water Conservation (DLWC) engaged the Urban Design Advisory Service (UDAS) to investigate urban design and land use options for the future use of Luna Park.DPWS/DLWC 1998: 1 The Luna Park Plan of Management was prepared by the New South Wales government in 1998 to guide the future management of the Luna Park Reserve. The Luna Park Plan of Management identified a preferred option for Luna Park's future use, determined in consultation with residents, the general public and other stakeholders. The preferred option identified by the Luna Park Plan of Management sought to preserve Luna Park's amusement park character while introducing new uses to improve its viability and accordance with the parameters in the Luna Park Site Amendment Act 1997.

The Taiga Cordillera Ecozone, as defined by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC), is a rugged, mountainous terrestrial ecozone of Canada spanning most of northern Yukon and significant portions of the border between the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. This ecozone is very sparsely populated, with only a few hundred inhabitants who rely on subsistence living and the tourism industry. Most of the area's population consists of members of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation in the community of Old Crow, located on the Porcupine River. The area includes three national parks within its boundaries - Ivvavik National Park, Vuntut National Park, and Nahanni National Park Reserve, one of twelve sites in the first group of World Heritage Sites granted by UNESCO.

The monument rests on a rock- faced granite plinth and is surrounded by its original concrete kerb and iron stake fence, with a gate at the southwest corner. The memorial enclosure in turn is defined by a two-rail timber fence with wrought-iron gates at the western corner. A flagstaff is located at the northern corner of the memorial enclosure, just inside the timber fence, and the memorial is framed by the Big Fig tree to the south, just outside the timber fence but within the larger park reserve. From photographic evidence, this tree and other figs along Bloomfield Street and the cross-street leading to the railway, appear to date to the first decade of the 20th century.

" The park will prohibit the opening of new mines, but existing claims will be respected. Originally, the land was meant to be used for an extension of Nahanni National Park Reserve, but the Dene and Métis people in the Sahtu Region lobbied for a plan that would make their area of land different from Nahanni, which is claimed by the Dene of the Dehcho Region. On February 26, 2003 the Government of Canada announced the withdrawal of approximately of land for the establishment of the park. The official announcement was made on April 7, 2008 by Federal Environment Minister John Baird who said, "with this historic agreement announced today, we are once again taking action to protect Canada's North for future generations.

Belcarra Regional Park is managed by Metro Vancouver Regional Parks; this park surrounds Bedwell Bay on the mid-western side of Indian Arm, and includes the area around Sasamat Lake. The Baden-Powell Trail is challenging but well-maintained and well-marked. It originates at Panorama Park in Deep Cove, passing along the slopes of the North Shore Mountains on the western side of Indian Arm to its western terminus in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver. Other parks around the shores of eastern Burrard Inlet and Indian Arm include: Cates Park and Panorama Park in the District of North Vancouver, Barnet Marine Park in Burnaby, Rocky Point Park (which includes a boat launch), Inlet Park and Tidal Park in Port Moody, and Thwaytes Landing Metro Park Reserve.

The former Cleveland Police Station and Courthouse is a fine and intact example of a timber suburban courthouse. It has a special association with the work of the Government Architect's Office which developed a number of courthouse types which sought to respond to matters both economic and climatic, as well as providing a high quality of public building even on this modest scale. The place is important because of its aesthetic significance. The siting of the former Cleveland Police Station and Courthouse at the corner of Passage and North Streets provides evidence of the early role of the area as an important and strongly defined civic precinct, an area which includes the park reserve, mature tree planting and the war memorial.

Gulf Islands National Park Reserve is a national park located on and around the Gulf Islands in British Columbia, Canada. In the National Parks System Plan, this park provides representation of the Strait of Georgia Lowlands natural region, the only place in Canada with a Mediterranean climate of dry, sunny summers and mild, wet winters, the result of a rain shadow effect from surrounding mountains between the region and the ocean. It has similar dominant vegetation as the Pacific Northwest, such as coastal Douglas-fir, western red cedar, shore pine, Pacific dogwood, bigleaf maple, and red alder, but also contains the northern extent of some of the more drought tolerant trees such as Garry oak and Arbutus. The park was created in 2003 as the fortieth national park.

The ancient murrelet is listed as of 'Special Concern' by the committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada because populations have been greatly reduced over the past century by mammalian predators such as rats introduced to their breeding islands by visiting ships in the 1800s. On one island, the number of breeding pairs was reduced from 200,000 pre-infestation to about 14,000 in the 21st century. In 2009, a five-year $2.5m Night Birds Returning project was instituted by Parks Canada, Haida Nation, Island Conservation and Coastal Conservation to restore Murrelet population by eradicating rats in the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site. For success, every single rat needs to be killed as a single pregnant rat can repopulate an island in 1–2 years.

Established as a post–World War II housing boom suburb connected to the urban street grid of Minneapolis and serviced by two major freeways, Interstate 35W and Interstate 494, Bloomington's residential areas include upper-tier households in the western Bush Lake area and traditional middle-class families in its rows of single- family homes in the central to eastern portions. Large-scale commercial development is concentrated along the Interstate 494 corridor. Besides an extensive city park system, with over of parkland per capita, Bloomington is also home to Hyland Lake Park Reserve in the west and Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge in the southeast. Bloomington has more jobs per capita than either Minneapolis or Saint Paul, due in part to the United States' largest enclosed shopping center, Mall of America.

About one third of the city is permanently reserved for park purposes, including two large natural areas – the Minnesota Valley's wetlands (controlled by the City and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service) and the Hyland Lake Park Reserve (controlled by the Three Rivers Park District). Water bodies within the city include Bush Lake, Long Meadow Lake, Lake Normandale, Marsh Lake (Hennepin), Nine Mile Creek, Penn Lake and about 100 small lakes and ponds with their wetland habitats. Locally, the city is informally divided by Interstate 35W into "West Bloomington" and "East Bloomington." West Bloomington is mostly residential with newer housing stock, along with multi-story office high-rises along Interstate Highway 494 in the north, whereas East Bloomington contains more industry, destination retail centers, and the majority of Bloomington's less expensive housing.

The Miriam Vale War Memorial is located at the southeastern end of a long, narrow, grassed and treed park reserve which runs parallel to the railway line to the east and Bloomfield Street, the principal street in the town of Miriam Vale, to the west. The memorial faces the morning light and the Miriam Vale railway station to the northeast, and provides a principal focus at the southern end of the business sector of town, which has retained an early-to-mid 20th century streetscape. The memorial comprises a life-sized stone statue of an Australian Infantry soldier standing with head bowed and arms reversed, on a substantial and ornate sandstone pedestal resting on a granite plinth. The pedestal is capped by a gabled cornice with a moulded wreath in the front gable.

In 1881 the town council planted 30 cedar trees along the foreshore, and added cocoa and betel nut trees in early 1882. In 1883, following strong public demand, a road was made along the beach front to Kissing Point. By 1889, The Strand, between King Street and Kissing Point, made a glorious promenade on a moonlight night when the breeze blew straight and cool from Magnetic Island. Photographs of The Strand in 1888 show banyan trees several years old, as well as more recent plantings, and a reserve for public baths (opposite the then quarry site on The Strand) was gazetted in 1889. One of the earliest structures erected along the foreshore was an ornamental fountain/bird-bath, extant by 1905, which remained in the park reserve to the 1950s at least.

Fossil material now assigned to Eucnemesaurus was once placed in a separate genus and species, Aliwalia rex (the generic name was taken from the Aliwal Park Reserve in the Union of South Africa, where the first remains were found). The fossil evidence of this species was comparably small, with for many years only femoral fragments and a maxilla known, having been sent from South Africa to Austria in 1873 in a shipment with prosauropod bones. The size of the femur led many palaeontologists to believe (along with the clearly carnivorous maxilla), that Aliwalia was a carnivorous dinosaur of remarkable size for the age in which lived. It would have been comparable to that of the large Jurassic and Cretaceous theropods, such as Allosaurus, that evolved tens of millions of years after Aliwalia.

In 1991, the first two stages of the three-stage redevelopment and restoration plan for Luna Park was given the green light, with $25 million granted by the Open Space and Heritage Fund towards the project. The third stage, involving the demolition of sections of the old North Shore railway line (in use as a holding area for trains outside peak hour since 1932) and construction of parkland, an amphitheatre, art gallery, and museum, was not approved. In 1992 the Trust commissioned Godden Mackay heritage consultants to prepare a Conservation Plan for the site. The Luna Park Reserve Trust between 1993 and 1995 in accordance with this Conservation Plan undertook conservation and construction works. The actual construction plans were approved by North Sydney Council in August 1992, with Ted Hopkins also supporting the plans shown to him.

Coonara House was the farm house for the farm land that is now Kings Park reserve. Some historic buildings and sites have been lost over the years—including the original Primary School (which was nestled into the National Park, near the current Country Fire Authority station), the tearooms (corner of Rollings Road and Burwood Highway—many original architectural features were lost during renovations in the 1990s), the cycling velodrome (a bitumen track that was located behind St Joseph's College on the border of Upper Ferntree Gully and Ferntree Gully—this was used as part of The Sun newspaper's cycling competition), the Progress Hall (adjacent to Martin's Smash Repairs) and Kayser factory (Rose Street). The old bakery in Rose Street is home to the 1812 Amateur Theatre Group. The suburb of Upper Ferntree Gully is often referred to by residents simply as Upper Gully.

St. Paul Island, Nova Scotia, off the northeastern tip of Cape Breton Island, is referred to as the "Graveyard of the Gulf" because of its many shipwrecks. Access to this island is controlled by the Canadian Coast Guard. Bonaventure Island on the eastern tip of the Gaspe Peninsula, Île Brion and Rochers-aux-Oiseaux (Bird Rock) northeast of the Magdalen Islands are important migratory bird sanctuaries administered by the Canadian Wildlife Service. The Federal Government of Canada has national parks along the Gulf of Saint Lawrence at Forillon National Park on the eastern tip of the Gaspe Peninsula, Prince Edward Island National Park on the northern shore of the island, Kouchibouguac National Park on the northeastern coast of New Brunswick, Cape Breton Highlands National Park on the northern tip of Cape Breton Island, Gros Morne National Park on the west coast of Newfoundland, and a National Park Reserve in the Mingan Archipelago on the Côte-Nord of Quebec.

Skeleton of an extinct horned turtle (Meiolania platyceps) displayed in the Maritime Museum Lord Howe Island is the highly eroded remains of a 7-million-year-old shield volcano, the product of eruptions that lasted for about 500,000 years. It is one of a chain of islands that occur on the western rim of an undersea shelf, the Lord Howe Rise, which is long and wide extending from New Zealand to the west of New Caledonia and consisting of continental rocks that separated from the Australian plate 60 to 80 million years ago to form a new crust in the deep Tasman Basin. The shelf is part of Zealandia, a microcontinent nearly half the size of Australia that gradually submerged after breaking away from the Gondwanan supercontinent. The Lord Howe Seamount Chain is defined by coral-capped guyots stretching to the north of the island for and including the Middleton ( away) and Elizabeth ( away) reefs of the Elizabeth and Middleton Reefs Marine National Park Reserve.

County Road 11 begins in Loretto and runs through northern Independence and past the Lake Rebecca Park Reserve before crossing the Wright County line and continuing as Wright County Road 30 into Delano. County Road 12 is Noble Parkway from County Road 109 / 85th Avenue North in Brooklyn Park to 109th Avenue North, then follows West River Road through Champlin to a 1/4-mile concurrent stretch with U.S. Highway 169, then follows Dayton River Road through Dayton, where it continues into Wright County as Wright County Road 42. The West River Road segment of County Road 12 was previously old U.S. 169 until the late 1970s, then part of State Highway 252 (MN 252) until State Highway 610 (MN 610) was completed in 1999 between the Richard P. Braun Bridge and Osseo. Much of County Road 12 is concurrent with the Great River Road throughout Champlin and Dayton in northern Hennepin County.

Bill C-97 also amended the Canada Business Corporations Act to add the interests retirees and pensioners to the list of factors to be considered in the best interests of corporations, and to require certain classes of corporations to disclose to their shareholders prescribed information on the diversity and remuneration of their directors and senior management and the well-being of employees and pensioners. Non-financial or business related amendments within Bill C-97 include a modernization of the Pilotage Act, increasing the number of judges on the Federal Court, making a provision which prevents people from making a refugee claim if they have already made a refugee claim in another country and inserting the Thaidene Nëné National Park Reserve into the Canada National Parks Act. Bill C-97 included within it the enactment of several other acts, including the Poverty Reduction Act, the National Housing Strategy Act, the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act, the Security Screening Services Commercialization Act, the Federal Prompt Payment for Construction Work Act.

By the end of the nineteenth century, a large amount of the land surrounding many of the early grand homes had been subdivided into estates. Following sustained growth, on the 19 August 1903, the area was declared the Town of Toowong under the provisions of the Local Authorities Act 1902, and the tram lines were extended to the Toowong Cemetery in the same year. In addition to many other achievements during its time, Toowong Town Council was successful in its focus on securing numerous land allotments for recreational use. Despite the large number of subdivisions that occurred during the later half of the 19th century, a map from 1895 shows the parcel of land bounded by Sylvan Road, Dixon Street and the railway line to retain large allotments. On the 7 September 1918, Toowong Town Council declared the land a park reserve, to be known as Toowong Park. When Toowong was amalgamated to become part of Greater Brisbane in 1925, management of the park passed to Brisbane City Council.

By this time the park had been filled in and served as the school's playground. By 1909 Red Jacket Swamp had been renamed Gregory Park - after Sir Augustus Charles Gregory (1819-1905), former Commissioner for Crown Lands and Surveyor-General, Member of the Queensland Legislative Council, and a former Mayor of Toowong.'Gregory Park Reserve', Brisbane Courier, 31 May 1909, p.4). However, the main change to the school in the 1930s was the construction of a Depression-era brick school building (Block A in 2017) between 1935 and 1937. The Great Depression, commencing in 1929 and extending well into the 1930s, caused a dramatic reduction of public building work in Queensland and brought private building work to a standstill.

The main oval is located in the north- western corner of the wider Elsternwick Park reserve, which covers 90 acres between Glenhuntly Rd, Head St, New St and St Kilda St. The wider reserve served as the Elsternwick Racecourse from 1880 until 1891, but after its closure it fell into disuse and disrepair – to the point that it was known colloquially as "no-man's land" in the district. The main oval was opened on approximately five acres of the reserve in 1903, and the rest of the reserve was leased by the Elsternwick Golf Club in 1910, which invested £13,000 pounds developing it from a swamp to a private golf course. When its lease expired in 1925, the Brighton Council did not renew it and instead made the area a public reserve, which included a municipal nine-hole golf links, a tennis club, a bowls club and more football and cricket ovals, all of which remain today except the golf course, which closed in 2018. After losing occupancy of Elsternwick Park in 1925, the golf club moved to Cheltenham and became the Kingston Heath Golf Club.
