The myth of Myrrha has been chronicled in several other works than Ovid's Metamorphoses. Among the scholars who recounted it are Apollodorus, Hyginus, and Antoninus Liberalis. All three versions differ. In his Bibliotheca, written around the 1st century B.C. Apollodorus tells of three possible parentages for Adonis.

In Greek mythology, Metion (; , gen. Μητίονος) was a son of King Erechtheus of Athens or of Eupalamus, son of King Erechtheus. His sons later drove King Pandion II out of Athens into exile. Among these sons were Eupalamus, Sicyon, and Daedalus, though they are sometime credited with other parentages.

Billy (aged five) and Nancy (aged two) were Annice's own children, but the parentages and ages of the others were not identified. In April 2002, authorities in Indian-administered Kashmir arrested three Indian paramilitary soldiers following the gang rape of 17-year-old girl. In July 2011, there were anti- India protests in Srinagar against the alleged rape of a 25-year-old village woman in the village of Manzgam. In October 2011, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir apologised for the release of names, parentages and addresses of 1400 rape victims.
