Held annually during the last weekend of April each year, the Western New York Maple Festival has occurred every year since its inception by the Franklinville JayCees in 1962. The festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the village annually. It showcases local area maple producers and their delicious maple syrup and maple products. The event is highlighted by a pageant, a parade, pancake breakfast, ham and leek dinner, trade show, craft fair and dozens of vendors.

In 1924 Bernays set up a vaudeville "pancake breakfast" for Calvin Coolidge to change his stuffy image prior to the 1924 election. Entertainers including Al Jolson, John Drew, Raymond Hitchcock, and the Dolly Sisters performed on the White House lawn. The event was widely reported by American newspapers, with The New York Times running the story under the headline "President Nearly Laughs."Tye (1998), pp 77–79. The annual Festival of Lights is a winter holiday event that has been celebrated for 22 years. The highlight of the weekend is the Grand Parade. Festivities include tours of decorated historic homes, a lighting contest, arts and crafts show, a children's play zone, food vendors, the jingle bell jog, a scavenger hunt, storytelling, tours of the county courthouse and murals, and a pancake breakfast. Other activities include the Yule Log lighting, chowder feed, and caroling.

In the 1950s, he pioneered exporting cattle by airplane allowing the Canadian industry to develop new markets in Mexico and the United Kingdom. Hays is the creator and namesake of the Hays Converter beef cattle breed. Harry Hays is credited with starting the Calgary Stampede pancake breakfast tradition. In 1934 Hays married Muriel Biglund and had one son Daniel Hays, who was a former member of the Senate of Canada appointed in 1984 where he served as Speaker and Leader of the Opposition.

The Oklahoman, July 11, 2014. John Dillon and Vivian Nesbitt, hosts of the Art of the Song radio show, made their fourth visit to WoodyFest, this year interviewing Ellis Paul on Friday and Rebecca Loebe on Saturday. The interviews - which typically include the performance of one or two songs and a Q&A; session with the audience - air at a later date. Mary Jo Guthrie Edgmon - Guthrie's baby sister who is now 91 - once again hosted her pancake breakfast on Saturday.

Parade Cowboys and Horses The Castroville Artichoke Festival evolved from an earlier May Days Parade and band competition. A pancake breakfast and a barbecue were added to the event and, in 1959, a band leader and three local business owners formed the Castroville Artichoke Advisory Board. The board came up with the name Castroville Artichoke Festival. The two-day event is held every year in May, originally in Castroville and, since 2014, at the Monterey County Fair and Event Center.

St. Urho's Day is the Finnish tradition of celebrating when St. Urho chased the crickets, and other vermin, out of Finland. Finlayson embraces its Finnish background by celebrating St. Urho's feast day on March 27. The city's fire department, elementary school and community center is open to the public for a day of basketball, volleyball, fried bread and good friends. The community center is the host of a free pancake breakfast while the fire department hosts the delicious fried bread.

One of the unique landmarks in the community is the Kingsburg water tower, which is shaped like an antique Swedish coffee pot. The Swedish immigrant heritage of the community is principally preserved with festivals. The Kingsburg Swedish Festival, which is one of the biggest and best known festivals that bring people in from all over the country, is held annually during the third weekend in May. Activities include a Swedish pancake breakfast, a parade and the coronation of the Swedish Festival Queen.

Likewise, most small town fairs in Alberta feature a pancake breakfast hosted by the mayor and councilors and other local notables. These events are now part of a "barbecue circuit" of summer community events that Canadian politicians are expected to attend. Over time, the pancake breakfasts associated with the Calgary Stampede have evolved into large affairs in which big international corporate sponsors tried to out do each other and sometime overshadows the smaller breakfasts. Many large deals are sometime made at these breakfasts.

Bedford Days has occurred annually at the end of June and beginning of July for over 30 years. Currently, most of the events take place at DeWolf Park. There is an Opening Celebration, Rubber Duck Dash, Free pancake breakfast, Dog show, Scott Manor House Tea Party, Kids' Extravaganza, Kids' Triathlon, Movies in the Park, and a Canada Day Celebration. The Light Up Bedford Parade is an annual parade that runs along the Bedford Highway from Bedford Place Mall and ends at DeWolf Park.

FEBRUARY - Every third weekend of February, the Annual Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival; which includes many family activities such as hot air balloon rides, helicopter rides, dog sledding, minnow races, craft show, bake sale, broom ball tournaments, mini snowmobile rides, family skating, as well as a pancake breakfast. This event attracts hundreds of visitors. FEBRUARY - The Dorset Firefighters Association Annual Polar Plunge - Participants pay money to throw themselves into the freezing water of Lake of Bays. All proceeds go purchasing equipment for the local fire department.

During the last week of July, Bruce celebrates Honey Days, its town holiday. The name and theme of Honey Days is inspired by the company Adee Honey Farms which originated and is based in Bruce. Adee Honey farms is the largest producer of honey in the world and is a large employer in the small town.Argusleader The festival features many activities such as a street dance, bingo, barbecue feed, pancake breakfast, an outdoor church service, and many recreational tournaments such as softball, horseshoes, volleyball, and beanbags.

The neighbourhood comes together to celebrate its agricultural past each fall. This celebration is called Harvestfest and it usually takes place the first week after Labour Day, beginning on the Thursday and running until late Sunday. It features many events such as a baseball tournament, an adult dance, teen dance, and pre-teen dance, parade, occasional rides for kids, pancake breakfast for the town, auto show and shine, as well as two beer tents in different locations featuring a live band all day and night. Lambeth celebrated its 200th anniversary of settlement throughout 2009.

The 12th annual festival also marked the fifth appearance of the Woody Guthrie Poets under the direction of Carol Hamilton and George Wallace. New for 2009 were songwriting workshops - one conducted by Jack Hardy, and a second conducted by Sam Baker and Ronny Elliott. The workshops were held at Lou's Rocky Road Tavern, the venue that also hosted daily open mics. Guthrie's younger sister, Mary Jo Guthrie Edgmon, hosted her annual pancake breakfast benefiting the Huntington's Disease Society of America on Saturday, July 11 at Lou's Rocky Road Tavern.

The festival showcases a variety of food and beverages to enjoy over the course of the weekend. Some of the restaurants expected for the 2013 festival were Jackelope Ranch, Las Casuelas, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Fisherman's Market & Grill, and vendors like Spicy Pie, Pink's Hot Dogs, and Waffleman Ice Cream Sandwiches. There are also full bars, a Cantina Restaurant, BBQ contest, and a pancake breakfast supporting the local Lion's Club. Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) sanctioned the Stagecoach Invitational BBQ Championship encompassing teams from across the nation competing for the KCBS California State championship.

Friday evening features the annual benefit auction, baking contest, and Fire Auxiliary BBQ dinner at Town Hall. Saturday is a fun-filled day when the community, families, friends, and visitors alike get together to socialize, browse the craft booths, eat “fair food”, throw a horseshoe, and race outhouses. The morning begins with a Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast followed by a lively parade down the main street to the Town Park full of local vendors showing their wares. Many activities are for children, and there is often a miniature train to ride around town.

The Lions Club Pancake Breakfast in April and its Fish Fry (started in 1943) in July are two of the biggest events in Seal Beach. There has been a Rough Water Swim the same weekend as the Fish Fry since the 1960s. The Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce sponsors many events, including: a Classic Car Show in April, a Summer Concert series once every week in July and August, the Christmas Parade in December along with Santa and the Reindeer. Also in the fall is the Kite Festival in September.

A mural dedicated to the phenomenon is painted on the wall of the local Tijuana Flats. "The Rising" This annual event is held the last Saturday each October and invites the entire town to travel a 5K route that leads past 10 historic sites, then "enjoy a homemade pancake breakfast while watching an interactive performance from actors in costume portraying Oviedo's founders, who are back from beyond the grave for one magical weekend." This is a kid-friendly event not designed to be scary, but to educate people on the town's history.

Programs run by students, for students, are important and widespread and give students the opportunity to organize classic McNally events such as Bike-a-thon, Pancake Breakfast, and H-Fest. McNally is one of the few schools in Edmonton that does not have a Student Union. Rather than a small group of students leading the events of the whole school, McNally prefers to hold Youth Engagement Focus Groups, where randomly-selected students from the whole student body come together to give feedback on various topics (e.g. athletics, IB, etc.).

The buildings include a drug store, an Anglican church, and homes. Museum Day The day after the Agricultural Society Annual Fair Day is Museum Day. Visitors take a tour of the museum and watch demonstrations made in the buildings about the pioneer way of life. The day begins with a pancake breakfast, then a church service, and then demonstrations, which include blacksmithing, flour-making, and rope- making. Together, the Agricultural Society Fair Day and Museum Day are meant to be an event to take pride in Ogema’s new and old citizens, and attract visitors from outside of the area.

The Woody Guthrie Coalition welcomed festival attendees to the sixth annual festival in 2003 by saying "We are honored to have back with us Arlo Guthrie & Family along with an American icon, Pete Seeger, and, for the first time, another great folk music legend, Josh White, Jr.". Guthrie family members in attendance included Arlo's daughters Sarah Lee Guthrie (and husband Johnny Irion), Cathy Guthrie, and Annie Guthrie, and his son Abe.

Besides the fairs and rodeos, pancakes are also widely served on Canada Day, including at the Alberta Legislature. Green Party of Canada leader Elizabeth May at a 2008 Calgary Stampede pancake breakfast There has also been a long connection between these breakfast events and politics. The Premier of Alberta annually hosts pancake breakfasts at both K-Days and the Calgary Stampede which are frequently attended by many other politicians, keen to be seen by the public at such events. And politicians are also the main volunteers behind the Canada Day breakfast hosted by the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.

In the midst of summer events in Lambton County, the Rotary Club of Sarnia hosts the annual public Mackinac Pancake Breakfast alongside the Mackinac sail race that runs through Point Edward’s riverfront during July. Guests from all over the county come participate in the breakfast while enjoying the scenic surroundings of Point Edward, and the numbers are only growing. Rain or shine, members of the club work to serve pancakes, sausages and coffee to over 2,000 guests who come to enjoy the races that weekend. This year, the funds are pledged to support the building of a public splash pad for the village.

The City of Terrell, in partnership with the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum, hosts an annual World War II veterans reunion and air event on the first Saturday of October. This event draws attendees from all over the world. It presents numerous attractions such as vintage aircraft and military vehicles, skydiving, flight simulators, lectures, films, and demonstrations, and activities for every member of the family. The reunion dinner and hangar dance is on Friday night, and the fly-in kicks off with a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning, followed by a ceremony and entertainment until the afternoon.

The race uses "chip time technology" allowing every participant to know their exact time to complete the race. The Swamp Fox Festival and Parade is a celebration of the past and the present, the annual Swamp Fox Festival honors Marion's namesake and Revolutionary War hero, Francis Marion, aka the Swamp Fox. Some of the many scheduled events include a golf outing, picnic in the park, live music, craft show, 5K run and fun walk, a pancake breakfast and a community parade. The Uptown Marion Market features fresh produce, baked goods, honey, flowers, plants, meat, wines, and an array of artisan items.

Dog Sled Races on Main Street (Feb, 2006) Annual events include the Blackfly Festival, Lions Club Lobsterfest, Creative Changes Art Show, Sand Lake Regatta, Kearney Regatta, Kearney Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, Christmas Fun Fair and Craft Sale, the "Kearney Dog Sled Races", and Sand Lake Thanksgiving Sunday Turkey Shoot. Kearney is also well known for its grand and impressive firework show that is held every July. Visits can be made to the restored pioneer log church at Sand Lake as well as many other points of interest along the way. Kearney's history of logging also helped create the trails for their dog sled races in the winter.

The events take place in Pikeville, Kentucky, Matewan, West Virginia, and Williamson, West Virginia. The festival commemorates the famed feud and includes a marathon and half-marathon (the motto is "no feudin', just runnin'"), in addition to an ATV ride in all three towns. There is also a tug-of-war across the Tug Fork tributary near which the feuding families lived, a live re-enactment of scenes from their most famous fight, a motorcycle ride, live entertainment, Hatfield–McCoy landmark tours, a cornbread contest, pancake breakfast, arts, crafts, and dancing. Launched in 2000, the festival typically attracts thousands with more than 300 runners taking part in the races.

The village features hockey and curling rinks, an Elks lodge, the Strongfield café and post office, and a small United Church of Canada. The town is near the South Saskatchewan River, and the man-made Lake Diefenbaker created by the Gardiner Dam, one of the world's largest earth-filled dams. In the centre of the village is a cenotaph or memorial to Strongfield's fallen soldiers of both World Wars. For Saskatchewan's centennial, a celebratory event was held on July 2, 2005 in Strongfield at the community rink where activities included a pancake breakfast, horseshoe tournament, parade, street, hockey, slow pitch, beer gardens, supper and a street dance.

Each year, the citizens of Pullman, Washington congregate to enjoy, celebrate, and revel at The National Lentil Festival, a food festival honoring the lentil. The festival takes place every year the weekend before classes resume at Washington State University, also in Pullman. There are many things to see and do at the National Lentil Festival, Friday night includes live musical entertainment, a kids' carnival, free lentil chili and many business and craft vendors. Saturday's events include contests, The Lentil Cook-Off, many art and business vendors, a grand parade, lentil pancake breakfast, the Tase T. Lentil 5K Fun Run/Walk, beer garden, food court featuring lentil dishes, a large kids area and many other great family activities.

A free pancake breakfast is provided at the Peace Country Co-op store served by the Peace River area M.L.A. and the town mayor. Peace River Art Club is a society made up of visual artists who are based in the Peace River area. Of the various businesses in town that display the works of Peace River Art Club members, none is frequented by more art lovers than Java Domain, a café in downtown Peace River. The Peace River Art Club also has exhibitions at the Athabasca Hall art gallery in both stand alone basis and in concert with events at the Riverfront Park, as well as in the Peace River Municipal Library Gallery and the Peace River Museum.

Stony Plain celebrates Farmers' Days in the first week of June each year, complete with the Farmers' Days Parade, the Kinsmen rodeo, a pancake breakfast and fair grounds. The town also plays host to the Great White North TriathlonThe Great White North Triathlon in the first week of July. In the summer, Stony Plain hosts two major festivals — the Blueberry Bluegrass and Country Music Festival,Blueberry Bluegrass and Country Music Festival which is held in early August and is the largest bluegrass event in western Canada, and the Cowboy Poetry and Country Music GatheringStony Plain Cowboy Poetry Gathering held in late August. In December, the town sets up a large Christmas tree on Main Street and is lit throughout the Christmas season.

The area is abundant with open landscapes, bush, marsh, and wildlife, mainly to the north and east of the community. Plumas is also home to the Plumas Memorial Community Gardens located downtown, designated a public site in 2005, and Lions Park, an open green area including a playground and a scenic area along Jordan Creek. The Plumas Fairgrounds located on Jordan Street, are home to the annual Plumas Agricultural Fair held every July, which hosts a display of market/garden items and homestyle crafts in the skating rink, 4-H cattle and horse shows, a midway, children's activities, a Show N' Shine Classic Car Display, catered meals, live entertainment, and a community parade & pancake breakfast to kick off the weekend. The fairgrounds also provide a baseball diamond, and livestock stables.
