Freia (minor planet designation: 76 Freia) is a very large main-belt asteroid. It orbits in the outer part of the asteroid belt and is classified as a Cybele asteroid. Its composition is very primitive and it is extremely dark in color. Freia was discovered by the astronomer Heinrich d'Arrest on October 21, 1862, in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Each flower is up to 3.5 cm across. The base of each tepal is white (as are the stamen filaments), producing a white 'eye'. The outer part of the tepals is violet-blue. The species can be distinguished from the commonest species grown in gardens, S. forbesii, by the much smaller number of slightly larger flowers per stem.

Stjernsundet is a strait in Troms og Finnmark, Norway. It separates the island of Stjernøya from the mainland. Stjernsundet leads from the outer part of Altafjorden, and opens up westwards into Lopphavet. During the World War II Operation Source, a number of British X-crafts found their way from Lopphavet through Stjernsundet and succeeded in attacking and damaging the German battleship Tirpitz in Kåfjorden, an inner branch of Altafjorden.

The Chapelle Sainte Catherine is a Roman Catholic chapel located in Hombourg- Haut, in the historic region of Lorraine, France. Built by the knight Simon of Hombourg between 1250 and 1270, it initially was a private chapel, surrounded by the buildings of the knights' castle. Its towers and walls made up the outer part of a big medieval castle. The chapel was renovated in 1706, 1897 and 1984.

The Dalsfjorden is a narrow fjord that cuts into roughly eastwards from the village of Vilnes on the island of Atløyna in Askvoll municipality. The outer part of the fjord is also known as the Vilnesfjorden. The mouth of the fjord by Vilnes has a width of approximately , but at the village of Holmedal the fjord narrows quite a bit. The rest of the fjord going east has a width of .

Melchiorites is a desmoceratid ammonite genus included in the subfamily Puzosiinae. HIP 57274 d is an exoplanet orbiting the K-type main sequence star HIP 57274 about 84.5 light-years (26 parsecs, or nearly km) from Earth in the constellation Cetus. It orbits within the outer part of its star's habitable zone, at a distance of 1.01 AU. The exoplanet was found by using the radial velocity method, from radial-velocity measurements via observation of Doppler shifts in the spectrum of the planet's parent star.

Graue Wand (2594m) in the Wattental The Wattental is a southern side valley of the Inn valley. The valley, through which the Wattenbach stream flows, is incised deeply into the quartz-phyllite rock of the Tux Prealps. The two dispersed settlements of Wattenberg and Vögelsberg (in the municipality of Wattens) sprawl across the outer part of the valley. At the head of the valley is the Wattentaler Lizum and its military training area of Lizum Walchen which is run by the Austrian Armed Forces.

The Aomori Belt Highway primarily serves as a bypass of the central part of the city of Aomori. The broad-billed duck orchid was first formally described in 2006 by Stephen Hopper and Andrew Brown who gave it the name Paracaleana triens. The type specimen was collected near York and description was published in Australian Systematic Botany. In 2014, based on molecular studies, Joseph Miller and Mark Clements transferred all the species previously in Paracaleana to Caleana, so that the present species became Caleana triens. The specific epithet (triens) is a Latin word meaning "third", referring to there being calli only one-third of the outer part of the labellum.

The ring's brightness drops sharply just outward of the Metidian orbit, forming the Metis notch. Inward of the orbit of Metis, the brightness of the ring rises much less than in forward- scattered light. So in the back-scattered geometry the main ring appears to consist of two different parts: a narrow outer part extending from to , which itself includes three narrow ringlets separated by notches, and a fainter inner part from to , which lacks any visible structure like in the forward- scattering geometry. Taiwan is a member of the Astrid family (), a smaller asteroid family of nearly 500 carbonaceous asteroids. The family is located in the outermost central main-belt, near a prominent Kirkwood gap, that marks the 5:2 orbital resonance with Jupiter, and divides the asteroid belt into a central and outer part. Taiwan orbits the Sun at a distance of 2.7–2.9 AU once every 4 years and 8 months (1,703 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.05 and an inclination of 2° with respect to the ecliptic.

The isles, in detail referred to as Store Arøy, Lille Arøy and Vesle Arøy ('Big', 'Small' and 'Tiny' Arøy), are situated approximately midway between the towns of Langesund and Helgeroa in the municipality of Larvik. Arøya is a typical recreational cottage area for the population in the Grenland area as well as cityslickers from the Norwegian capital Oslo a 1,5h drive away. There are still a few families residing on the isles, where fishing is the prime source of income.

The iliohypogastric nerve is a nerve that originates from the lumbar plexus that supplies sensation to skin over the lateral gluteal and hypogastric regions and motor to the internal oblique and transverse abdominal muscles. The nerve emerges from the psoas major in the outer part of its upper border, and crosses in front of the quadratus lumborum to the iliac crest, running behind the kidneys. The compound eyes of arthropods like insects, crustaceans and millipedes are composed of units called ommatidia (singular: ommatidium). An ommatidium contains a cluster of photoreceptor cells surrounded by support cells and pigment cells. The outer part of the ommatidium is overlaid with a transparent cornea. Each ommatidium is innervated by one axon bundle (usually consisting of 6–9 axons, depending on the number of rhabdomeres) and provides the brain with one picture element.

The Society holds an annual Rail Fair each Labor Day weekend during which trains are hauled by visiting steam locomotives brought in by truck. C is a service on the S-train network in Copenhagen. Kuna Crest Granodiorite (also called Granodiorite of Glen Aulin), is found, in Yosemite National Park, United States. The granodiorite forms part of the Tuolumne Intrusive Suite (aka Tuolumne Batholith), one of the four major intrusive suites within the Sierra Nevada. Calectasia obtusa is an undershrub with stilt roots 30-55 mm long but no rhizome. It grows to a height of about 50 cm with several short side branches. Each leaf blade is glabrous except at the margins, 4.5-8.5 x 0.5-0.9 mm, often pressed against the stem, the ends usually blunt and only rarely tapering to a short, sharp point. The base of the petals (strictly tepals) form a tube 7.7-8.8 mm long, while the outer part of the petals are wine red with blue margins fading to pale blue with age and spreading outwards to form a papery, star-like pattern.

Four wheel drive for heavy vehicles in this period was difficult and the Hathi used a complex arrangement of bevel gears to transmit drive through the steering joints of the front axle. The costal edge is somewhat lighter than the rest of the wing. The bulge is X-shaped, that suggests that the galaxy is actually barred. NGC 5965 along with another edge-on galaxy, NGC 5746, were the galaxies used to confirm that peanut shaped bulge are associated with the presence of a bar, by spectrographically observing the disturbance caused at the velocity distributions of the galaxies. The galaxy features some level of disk disturbance, like a warp, as the outer part of the disk along with a ring-like dust lane appear to be on a different plane from the bulge, but it could also be a projection effect. When observed in K band, the galaxy features a stellar ring.

An underground vaulted ring passageway, only high ran around the outside of the keep, with similar covered radial passageways leading off to each of the bastions; the passageways are now ruined. A cobbled courtyard surrounded the keep, separating it from the external defences, and containing a well in the north-west corner. Underground passageways led from the entrance bastion to outside the castle walls, either to allow the garrison to escape in an emergency or to assault a besieging force. NGC 592 is around ten times less luminous than NGC 604, a neighbouring emission nebula and one of the largest H II regions in the Local Group of galaxies. It is relatively close to the galactic centre of M33 and is located on the outer part of one of its spiral arms. The central region of NGC 592 is estimated to be 4.9 ± 0.5 million years old and have a stellar mass of 16500 ± 5200 M☉. Several massive stars have been discovered within NGC 592, including at least four Wolf-Rayet type stars. The nebula is also estimated to contain 8 ± 4 O- and B- type stars.

A MacPherson strut uses a wishbone, or a substantial compression link stabilized by a secondary link, which provides a mounting point for the hub carrier or axle of the wheel. In the outer part of the intermediate mesoderm, immediately under the ectoderm, in the region from the fifth cervical segment to the third thoracic segment, a series of short evaginations from each segment grows dorsally and extends caudally, fusing successively from before backward to form the pronephric duct. This continues to grow caudalward until it opens into the ventral part of the cloaca; beyond the pronephros it is termed the mesonephric duct. Thus, the mesonephric duct remains after the atrophy of the pronephros.

Shortly after slightly weakening due to land interaction, Gafilo made landfall in the vicinity of Antalaha, Madagascar early on 7 March. Unlike other storms, the overland depression just weakened gradually, because of its unusually large circulation making the outer part still at sea. On that day, Gafilo tracked more southwestwards along the northwestern periphery of a subtropical ridge located to the southeast. Before noon on 8 March, Gafilo arrived at the Mozambique Channel as a moderate tropical storm whose strongest winds were located in the northern sector. There is a strait to the southwest, separating Hove from the islands of Merdø and Gjessøya, and northeast of Hove is Spornes, with a beach that alternates between a sandy beach and a pebble beach depending on the wind and weather. Tromøy Church and the Brekka farm stand further to the northeast. The entire area is characterized by a large moraine, which creates the natural basis for pebble beaches, sandy beaches, and large areas of Aust-Agder's best arable land. The outer part of the Hove area is part of a moraine landscape area with the protected Hove Woods (Hoveskogen), containing windswept Scots pine.

It has been theorized that light reflections and infrared emissions from 47 UMa b, along with tidal influence, could warm any moons in orbit around it to be habitable, despite the planet being outside the normally accepted habitable zone.

The reed is whittled directly in the bark (idioglottic reed) after the bark has been thinned. A small ball of wax pressed onto the base of the reed is used to fine-tune the pipe to give the orchestra a homogeneous sound. Davik Church Davik is a former municipality in the traditional district of Nordfjord in the old Sogn og Fjordane county (now Vestland), Norway. The former municipality existed from 1838 until 1964 and it encompassed all the lands surrounding the outer part of the large Nordfjorden on both sides of the fjord. Davik was located in parts of the present-day municipalities of Kinn, Bremanger, and Stad. The administrative center of the former municipality was the village of Davik which is located on the southern shore of the Nordfjorden, although some of the municipal services were based out of the village of Bryggja on the north side of the fjord, since that village was the largest village in Davik municipality.

Earth's magnetic field is produced by what is known as the core dynamo, consisting of an electrically conducting liquid, the nickel-iron outer core that rotates and is convecting. Venus is expected to have an electrically conductive core of similar composition, and although its rotation period is very long (243.7 Earth days), simulations show that this is adequate to produce a dynamo. This implies that Venus lacks convection in its outer core. Convection occurs when there is a large difference in temperature between the inner and outer part of the core, but since Venus has no plate tectonics to let off heat from the mantle, it is possible that outer core convection is being suppressed by a warm mantle.

This result argues in favor of the view that type II clusters in the galaxy were captured from a satellite galaxy, rather than being the oldest members of the Milky Way's globular cluster system as had been previously thought.

Fort Vrmac is situated on Vrmac, a limestone ridge that rises to and divides the inner and outer part of the Bay of Kotor. It overlooks Kotor to the east, the Troica pass leading to Kotor to the south, and the Župa valley to the west. The fort is reached via a military road built by the Austro-Hungarians that runs over the top of the ridge from Troica to Gornja Lastva in Tivat municipality, or alternatively via a winding path that leads up the mountainside from Muo, a suburb of Kotor. Its position was chosen to enable it to support the outlying Fort Gorazda on the other side of the Troica pass and the Škaljari Battery to the south.

Three had now crashed with the loss of 17 lives, and the fourth would not be permitted to fly again. Hastings Arm is a fjord on the North Coast of British Columbia, which is the northwest arm of Observatory Inlet, one of the two main branchings of Portland Inlet, the other being the better-known Portland Canal, which forms part of the Canada–United States border. Hastings Arm is approximately in length from the divergence of Observatory Inlet near the former smelting town of Anyox, where a east arm, Alice Arm, branches off towards its head at the mouth of the Kitsault River. This divergence is approximately from the mouth of Observatory Inlet itself, near Nass Bay, which is the outer part of the estuary of the Nass River. At the head of Hastings Arm is the mouth of the Kshwan River, and the Nisga'a village-site of Kswan.

In December 2007, a team led by Johny Setiawan of the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany announced discovery of a planet orbiting TW Hydrae, dubbed "TW Hydrae b" with a minimum mass around 1.2 Jupiter masses, a period of 3.56 days, and an orbital radius of 0.04 astronomical units (inside the inner rim of the protoplanetary disk). Assuming it orbited in the same plane as the outer part of the dust disk (inclination 7±1°), it would have a true mass of 9.8±3.3 Jupiter masses. However, if the inclination was similar to the inner part of the dust disk (4.3±1.0°), the mass would be 16 Jupiter masses, making it a brown dwarf. Since the star itself is so young, it was presumed this was the youngest extrasolar planet yet discovered, and essentially still in formation.

Rigorous comparisons show no synapomorphies of nemertean and platyhelminth nephridia. Measurements detail that both the Pacific and Eurasian Ocean water profiles are clearly offset from one another, an important facet of the hydrography of the Lincoln Sea. The Lincoln Sea has been found to contain water with three distinct properties. The first concerns the water in the inner part of the Lincoln Sea shelf, where the temperature and salinity profiles increase from the surface to the seafloor. The second involves the water covering the outer part of the shelf, including the slope; the waters here hold attributes similar to those in the Canadian basin and thus not unlike those from the Pacific. The third includes the waters north of the shelf’s slope. These waters protrude into the Arctic basin’s large-scale circulation, and so their characteristics appear to change over to those found in the Eurasian basin.

In December 2007, a team led by Johny Setiawan of the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany announced discovery of a planet orbiting TW Hydrae, dubbed "TW Hydrae b" with a minimum mass around 1.2 Jupiter masses, a period of 3.56 days, and an orbital radius of 0.04 astronomical units (inside the inner rim of the protoplanetary disk). Assuming it orbits in the same plane as the outer part of the dust disk (inclination 7±1°), it has a true mass of 9.8±3.3 Jupiter masses. However, if the inclination is similar to the inner part of the dust disk (4.3±1.0°), the mass would be 16 Jupiter masses, making it a brown dwarf. Since the star itself is so young, it was presumed this is the youngest extrasolar planet yet discovered, and essentially still in formation.

In 2017, the West Midlands Metro was extended running past the northern entrance to Martineau Place, with the Corporation Street tram stop adjacent to the centre. In 2017, the owners of the centre secured flexible use categories for many of the units in the inner Martineau Way part of the development, which had seen higher vacancy levels than the main frontages on the outer part of the development, in order to ensure vacancies could be quickly filled.

Ptolemy knew the Gulf of Kutch as Kanthi, a name still applied to the strip of land along its north shore, and to the Kanthkot Fort near the south shore of the Ran. About a hundred years later (246 CE) the author of the Periplus speaks of the outer part of the gulf of Kutch as Barake, possibly Dwarka.

The Barbary falcon differs in appearance from the peregrine falcon according to Gloger's rule. The genetic distance is slight and the species form a close-knit and somewhat paraphyletic group in DNA sequence analyses. In fact, some taxonomic authorities consider it conspecific. They differ more in behavior, ecology and anatomyNotably, the Barbary falcon has a peculiar way of flying, beating only the outer part of its wings like fulmars sometimes do; this also occurs in the peregrine, but less often and far less pronounced (Snow et al. 1998). The Barbary falcon's shoulder and pelvis bones are unusually stout by comparison with the peregrine and its feet are smaller (Vaurie, 1961), suggesting that hybridization has not affected the evolution of these traits. It was proposed (Vaurie, 1961) that the Barbary falcon also has an elongated middle toe, but this seems to be in error (Snow et al. 1998).

Posterior wings with the subbasal stramineous band broader than Papilio erithonioides, and on the costal margin extending rather broadly round the subapical ocellus, the outer part of the band between the costal and subcostal nervures being brightly ferruginous; the spots in the submarginal row are smaller and less lunulate outwardly, and the black spot at the lower end of the rufous anal spot of P. erithonioides is absent, the rufous spot of P. morondavana being rounder and paler; the space between the submarginal row and the band is more densely irrorated with stramineous scales. Due to the 26,000-year movement of the Earth's axis tracing an imperfect circle (axial precession), it has since increased to just beyond 0 hours, which it reached in J2013. At the cusp of sunrise on the March Equinox in the present era the circlet appears just above the sunrise being the westernmost part of the asterism; the easternmost parts can be most easily seen after sunset, just above the sun on a maximal horizon, such as the sea. A month later the progress of the earth around the plane of the ecliptic (its orbit) by a mean 2 hours of Right Ascension (18° of orbit) means that the sun rises and sets in an outer part of Aries bordering Cetus.

The main altarpiece of the Charterhouse was carved in wood by artist Gil de Siloé and polychrome and gilded by Diego de la Cruz (whose gold came from the first shipments of the Americas after its discovery) Made between 1496 and 1499, is undoubtedly one of the most important existing works of the Spanish Gothic sculpture, by its compositional and iconographic originality and excellent quality of carving, valued by the polychrome. One of the most important elements of the altarpiece is the angelic wheel in which is framed the Christ crucified image for its beauty and significantly accentuated expressiveness by the work of polychrome of Diego de la Cruz. In the outer part of the wheel, are placed the figures of God the Father to the left and the Holy Spirit to the right bearing the rungs of the cross. In the bottom of the cross, the figures of the Virgin Mary and John the Evangelist complete the scene.

Both wing sets were built up around two spruce spars; the only novelty was that the rear spar was not straight but came in two joined sections, the outer part swept forward to meet the forward spar at the wingtip. The engines were chosen to match the same purposes. For economy the Pixie I had a 500 cc Douglas horizontal twin and the Pixie II a more powerful 750 cc (the competition limit) engine of the same make and configuration. In 1924 it was flying with a 696 cc Blackburne Tomtit engine.

Nest construction begins with the river chub male creating a shallow depression 0.5-1m in diameter by removing the stones with his mouth and depositing them on the lateral margins. Next, collecting a relatively uniform set of up 10,000 pebbles about 1 cm in size from as far away as 25m, he builds a short platform and then a 20–30 cm high circular mound with a central trough on the upstream slope. When a gravid female enters the trough he presses her against the side by placing his caudal peduncle over hers and lodging her head between his opercle and pectoral fin.

The contraction of this muscle makes a distinct furrow on the cheek, and produces strong wrinkles under the eye, especially at its inner corner.

Brodmann area 20 is a subdivision of the cerebral cortex of the guenon defined on the basis of cytoarchitecture. It is cytoarchitecturally homologous to the inferior temporal area 20 of the human (Brodmann-1909). Distinctive features (Brodmann-1905): area 20 is similar to area 19 of Brodmann-1909 in the relative abundance of small cell types relative to the number of larger pyramidal cells; a very dense, wide internal granular layer (IV) composed almost exclusively of granule cells, as in area 18 of Brodmann-1909; a broad, clear internal pyramidal layer (V) with few cells; and a distinct multiform layer (VI). The major differences from areas 18 and 19 are somewhat lesser cell density; absence of a division of the external pyramidal layer (III) into sublayers 3a and 3b; layer V is more clearly distinguished from layer VI and, on average, has a greater density of pyramidal ganglion cells than in the other areas; layer VI is wider, more diffuse and has fewer cells that are concentrated in the outer part of the layer to produce a denser sublayer 6a and a less dense sublayer 6b.

After Mariner 3 was a total loss due to failure of the payload shroud to jettison, JPL engineers suggested that there had been a malfunction caused during separation of the metal fairing exterior from the fiberglass inner lining due to pressure differences between the inner and outer part of the shroud and that this could have caused the spring-loaded separation mechanism to become tangled and fail to detach properly. Testing at JPL confirmed this failure mode and an effort was made to develop a new, all-metal fairing. The downside of this was that the new fairing would be significantly heavier and reduce the Atlas-Agena's lift capacity. Convair and Lockheed-Martin had to make several performance enhancements to the booster to wring more power out of it. Despite fears that the work could not be completed before the 1964 Mars window closed, the new shroud was ready by November. After launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Launch Complex 12, the protective shroud covering Mariner 4 was jettisoned and the Agena-D/Mariner 4 combination separated from the Atlas-D booster at 14:27:23 UTC on November 28, 1964.
