On 27 April, Smith was forced to withdraw due to an allergic reaction. Smith stated he had been out of training for eight days and was forced to postpone the fight to a later date.
On October 8, 2018, Williams was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Rams. He remained on the Rams roster for the rest of the 2018, appearing in one game. Williams made the Rams 53-man roster out of training camp the next season. He scored his first NFL touchdown on October 20, 2019 against the Atlanta Falcons, recovering a fumble in the end zone on a punt return.

After signing with the Washington Capitals in the off-season, he was sent down to the Hershey Bears where he was part of another run to a Calder Cup Championship. He returned to Philadelphia in the off-season and made the Flyers final roster out of training camp prior to the 2006–07 NHL season.

His shoulder was popped back into place but after being on IR for 6 weeks, he tweaked his shoulder in practice just before a team road trip. Pinizzotto's injury caused him to miss the entire season.
On July 1, 2016, having left the Hurricanes as a free agent, Gerbe signed a one-year deal with the New York Rangers. However, Gerbe did not make the Rangers roster out of training camp and was sent down to the Rangers' AHL team, the Hartford Wolf Pack. When Gerbe refused to report to the Wolf Pack, the Rangers placed him on unconditional waivers for release in order to terminate his contract.

Running back Eric Dickerson held out of training camp, during a contract dispute. The Colts suspended Dickerson four games for conduct detrimental to the team.

He recorded his first NHL point, an assist against the Philadelphia Flyers on October 20, 2016. Dawkins was waived by the Titans on December 3, 2018 and re-signed to the practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Titans on December 31, 2018. Dawkins made the Titans' 53-man roster out of training camp for the 2019 season but was waived after Week 1 on September 10, 2019 and re-signed to the practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster on October 8, 2019.

Mihail Petrov Ganev (Bulgarian: Михаил Петров Ганев, born January 5, 1985) is a freestyle wrestler from Bulgaria who won the world title in the 84 kg division in 2010. He was eliminated in the second bout at the 2016 Olympics. In December 2010 he was stabbed in the stomach with a knife and was out of training for a month. He lost another four months from March to July 2015 due to an injury.
Delaney signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2018. He failed to make the Jaguars' 53-man roster out of training camp, but was subsequently signed to the team's practice squad on September 2. Delaney was promoted to the Jaguars' active roster from the practice squad on October 25, 2018. Delaney made his NFL debut on October 28, 2018 against the Philadelphia Eagles at Wembley Stadium in London.
Walker made the Reign's 2017–18 opening night roster out of training camp. He scored his first professional point in a 7–4 loss to the Cleveland Monsters on October 27, 2017. Walker ended the season having played in 64 regular season games for the Reign and collecting 28 points. Walker signed a two-year, entry level contract with the Los Angeles Kings on July 3, 2018 after playing one season in the AHL.
On a stopover in the Canary Islands a boxing match was arranged in Barcelona between Cravan and the former world champion Jack Johnson to raise money for Cravan's passage to the United States. Posters for the match touted Cravan as "European champion". Johnson, who didn't know who the man was, knocked Cravan out cold after six rounds. In his autobiography, My Life and Battles, Johnson noted that Cravan must have been out of training.

The following season, Rypien made the Canucks' line-up out of training camp for the first time in his career. After scoring two goals in the first five games in 2008–09, he suffered a sports hernia in October. Upon recovering, he was granted an indefinite leave of absence for personal reasons. The Canucks organization alluded to Rypien's history of injuries as the main reason for him not returning to the team.
Campbell was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in April 2002. He made the team out of training camp, and went on to appear in six games including two starts for the Vikings during his rookie season despite spending some time on the practice squad. He accumulated 13 catches for 176 yards and three touchdowns on the year. Campbell started six of the 15 games in which he appeared in 2003.

Rensing in 2018 Since 1 July 2013, Rensing has played for the second division team Fortuna Düsseldorf. Before the first match of the season Rensing stormed out of training and was thus dropped from the team for that match. The argument was concerning Fabian Giefer being selected as first choice keeper above him. During the 2017–18 season, Strome made the Coyotes' final roster out of training camp. On October 9, 2017, the Coyotes announced Strome was being sent down to the Coyotes' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners, after going pointless in two games. However, he was recalled on November 26 after recording a seven-game point streak with the Roadrunners. He scored his first NHL goal on December 2 in a 5–0 win over the New Jersey Devils.
Sayler was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New England Patriots after going undrafted in the 2001 NFL Draft. Sayler made the Patriots' 53-man roster out of training camp and started the 2001 season opener in place of an injured Richard Seymour at nose tackle. He played in two games for the Patriots before being placed on injured reserve on October 5. He was re-signed by the Patriots following the season, but was released on September 1, 2002.
Thorn was born in Atbara, Sudan during the Second World War and attended Ipswich School from 1953 to 1961. Just after leaving school he represented Suffolk in the Minor Counties cricket competition as an 'opening' fast bowler. He entered the Royal Air Force College Cranwell as a flight cadet in September 1961. He graduated with his pilot wings in 1964 and on completion of the Advanced Flying Training he was selected to become a flying instructor straight out of training.
On January 23, after playing a total of nine games in the NHL during which he scored one goal, Gauthier was returned to the Marlies. He competed with the Marlies during their 2018 Calder Cup playoffs run where he helped them clinch the Calder Cup. On July 11, 2018, Gauthier signed a two-year, two-way contract extension with the Maple Leafs. After making the team out of training camp, Gauthier stayed on the NHL roster for the entirety of the season.
After the Raiders 2000–01 WHL season was complete, Schultz made his professional debut with the Cleveland Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League, suiting up for four games, where he scored a goal and added an assist. On May 2, 2017, Jackson signed with the Toronto Argonauts as a free agent. He made the team out of training camp and played in his first game on June 30, 2017. He was named a CFL Top Performer for Week 4 after gaining 339 total return yards in a single game, the fourth-most in CFL history. Overall, he played in 15 regular season games and both playoff games, including the Argonauts' 105th Grey Cup victory over the Calgary Stampeders.
Parsons' 24 points were his best in 39 games with Memphis. Chandler had an extended stint on the sidelines between late December and mid-February due to right knee soreness. Despite only appearing in 36 games during the 2017–18 season, Parsons shot a career- best 42% from 3-point range. Parsons earned a starting spot for the 2018–19 season out of training camp, but only played in the first three games before being sidelined with right knee soreness.
Jackson was represented by agent Drew Rosenhaus. Before the 2005 NFL season, Jackson said he would hold-out of training camp in order to secure a new contract with the Packers. With his stellar play in his only season in the AHL, Sterling made the Atlanta Thrashers roster out of training camp for the 2007–08 NHL season. After going undrafted in the 2003 NFL Draft, Edwards signed with the Atlanta Falcons on April 29, 2003. Despite missing the team's final preseason game due to injury, Edwards made the team out of training camp. He was active for six games during the regular season, making his debut on September 28 against the Carolina Panthers. His first and only NFL reception to date came on November 30--a 10-yard grab against the Houston Texans from quarterback Doug Johnson.
Konar was listed by the CFL Scouting Bureau as the 16th ranked draft prospect in December 2014, but did not appear on the final rankings. He was invited to the national CFL Combine in early 2015. Konar was selected in the third round of the 2015 CFL Draft by the Edmonton Eskimos with the 25th overall pick. After making the active roster out of training camp, Konar debuted in the season opener against the Toronto Argonauts on June 27, 2015.
Ginevra was retired from racing at the end of her three-year-old season and was sold to a Japanese breeding syndicate for 106,000 guineas at the December Sales. She was the first British Classic winner just out of training that had been sold at the December Sales since Festoon was sold in 1954. Ginevra did not produce successful racers in Japan and died at the Yoshida Stud Farm on 18 March 1982 while foaling her last foal, Mrs. Ginevra.
On July 15, 2019, Heinola was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Winnipeg Jets. Heinola impressively made the Jets roster out of training camp. He became the first player of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft to register an NHL point during the Jets first game of the 2019–20 season against the New York Rangers on 3 October 2019. Heinola scored his first career NHL goal on 8 October 2019 against Matt Murray of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Because of the Cardinals' win, the Packers made the playoffs. The city of Green Bay gave Poole the key to the city and invited him to attend the Packers' playoff game at Lambeau Field against the Seattle Seahawks. Poole re-signed with the Cardinals on May 30, 2004 and began the season on the team's physically-unable-to-perform list. He made the team out of training camp once again and went on to play in nine games with one start.

In 2005, Jackson again was signed to the practice squad following training camp, then was promoted to the active roster after the fourth game. A backup to the guard and center positions, Jackson did not appear in a game.
After struggling in his first 23 games of the season, Mete was sent to the Canadiens American Hockey League affiliate, the Laval Rocket, to help his development. Mete was recalled to the NHL on December 17 after recording one goal and three assists in seven AHL games. Mete made the Canadiens lineup out of training camp for the 2019–20 season. After going goalless to start the season, Mete broke his 127-game, franchise-record goalless streak in a 4–0 win over the Minnesota Wild.
Unable to make the Blues roster out of training camp, Borgman was assigned for the duration of the 2019–20 season to AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage. In 53 games with the Rampage, Borgman added 2 goals and 16 points. With the COVID-19 pandemic concluding his contract with the St. Louis Blues, Borgman returned to Europe by agreeing to a one-year contract with Finnish club, Ässät of the Liiga, on 1 September 2020. His contract included an NHL-out clause through to December 2020.
Barrass was drafted by West Coast with pick 43 of the 2013 national draft, their third selection. On arrival at the club he expressed interest in eventually filling a leadership position. In January, prior to the 2014 AFL season, Barrass underwent an arthroscopy to repair a torn hip joint, ruling him out of training for three months. He returned in April to play his first game for East Perth reserves (West Coast's WAFL affiliate). Playing slightly over half the match, Barrass amassed 17 possessions.
Highsmith went undrafted in the 2008 NFL Draft and was signed by the Arizona Cardinals shortly following the draft. In 2008, Highsmith made the team out of training camp and went on to appear in six games for the Cardinals as a rookie before being placed on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury on November 4. He finished the season with four tackles. Highsmith was waived by the Cardinals on December 22, 2009, and re-signed to the team's practice squad the following day.
After making the team out of training camp, Lewis recovered a fumbled snap against the Arizona Cardinals on September 30, 2002. Due to multiple injuries suffered by Giants players, Lewis got more playing time than was expected for him. Against the Washington Redskins on November 17, after Lewis tackled running back Ladell Betts he fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Giants player Marcellus Rivers. Lewis along with fellow linebacker, Nick Greisen got his first career start at linebacker against the Redskins on December 8.
He was initially assigned to the Sabres' new minor league affiliate, the Rochester Americans, out of training camp and began the season in the AHL. On November 24, 2011, Kassian was recalled by Buffalo. Making his NHL debut the following night against the Columbus Blue Jackets, he recorded his first NHL point, assisting on a Jordan Leopold goal. Playing on back-to-back nights, Kassian then scored his first NHL goal the following game against goaltender Tomáš Vokoun in a home game against the Washington Capitals.
Brown signed a three-year entry level contract with the Kings and made the Kings' 2003–04 team out of training camp. His first NHL game was October 9, 2003, against the Detroit Red Wings. Brown saw fourth-line ice time in his rookie year, and he scored his first NHL goal on November 22, 2003 in a 2-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche. He managed just 1 goal and 5 points in 31 games before his season was cut short by a high ankle sprain.
Stinnie signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2018 and made the final 53-man roster out of training camp. Stinnie made his NFL debut, the only regular season appearance of his rookie season, on October 21, 2018 against the Los Angeles Chargers. On August 31, 2019, Stinnie was waived by the Titans and was signed to the practice squad the next day. He was promoted to the active roster on September 7, 2019 before the season opener.
After failing to make the Detroit roster out of training camp, Henderson was assigned to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Pittsburgh Hornets, to begin the 1963–64 season. He appeared in 38 games for the Hornets and his speed and aggressive nature helped him score 10 goals and 24 points. Henderson earned a brief recall to Detroit in November, then joined the NHL team permanently early in the new year. He scored his first NHL goal on January 29, 1964, against the Chicago Black Hawks.
Maurice "Red" Elder (March 21, 1916 – August 14, 2011) was an American football and baseball coach. He served as the head football coach at Colorado State University–Pueblo (CSU–Pueblo) from 1946 to 1951. Elder was a fullback at Kansas State University in the mid–1930s, where he played on the conference champion 1934 Kansas State Wildcats football team. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL) in 1937 but dropped out of training camp and, instead, pursued a career in coaching.
Houmard was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 14th round of the 1969 NFL/AFL draft, but opted to instead sign with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. In 1970, Houmard rushed for 810 yards and eight touchdowns. After the season he was signed by the Montreal Alouettes, who traded him to the Edmonton Eskimos before the start of the season. Houmard was signed by the Toronto Argonauts in 1973 but did not make the team out of training camp.
However, his spell to Salonica was not successful and in January 2009 he returned to homeland, joining AC Omonia for 1.5 years. In summer 2009 he joined Alki Larnaca FC, on a loan spell from AC Omonia. However, a serious injury left him out of training for a long time, setting the continuance of his career into threat. With Panayiotou's career declining, he achieved a return to professional football in July 2011, by joining Chalkanoras Idaliou, a team which competed in the Cypriot Second Division.
Ekuale signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2018. He was waived at the end of training camp but re-signed to the Browns' practice squad on September 2, 2018. Ekuale was removed from the practice squad on December 6, 2018 after receiving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy. Ekuale signed a reserve/future contract with the Browns on January 2, 2019 and made the 53-man roster out of training camp.
Playing in the World League of American Football (now NFL Europa) Traylor began to add mass to his linebacker's body for a move to the defensive line. He started three of the eight games that he played with the Barcelona Dragons, recording 18 tackles and a pair of fumble recoveries. Traylor made the Chiefs' roster out of training camp and appeared in all 16 games in a reserve role. He was credited with 19 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble and four passes defensed.
After going undrafted in the 2005 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers signed Amey on April 27, 2005. Prior to the season opener he changed his first name from Fred to Otis. He made the team out of training camp, and in his first regular season game against the St. Louis Rams on September 11, he returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown. He played in 11 games over the course of the season, averaging 17.2 yards per kick return an 11.4 yards per punt return.
At the start of the 2016-17 season, Gaunce made the Canucks' roster out of training camp for the first time in his career. He earned his first career assist on October 16, 2016; assisting on a Ben Hutton goal in a 4–3 overtime win against the Carolina Hurricanes. On August 9, 2017, the Canucks re-signed Gaunce to a two-year, $1.5 million contract worth $750,000 annually. Gaunce broke his foot in February and was set to be out for 2–4 weeks.
For a moderate or severe bout of ER, it may take 4–6 weeks to return to the regular program. It is important not to push the horse more than he is ready or a relapse may occur. A second bout of ER is usually more severe than the first, not only taking the horse out of training for a longer time, but possibly causing permanent muscle damage. Grain is gradually reintroduced as exercise resumes, but grain can contribute to the development of ER.
Love was selected with the 168th overall pick in the 6th round of the draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He was inactive for all 16 Regular Season games in the 2011 season despite making the team out of training camp. After the arrival of fellow offensive tackle Matt Kalil, Love made a deal to give Kalil his collegiate number 75 and instead assumed ownership over number 73. On August 1, 2013, Love was suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
After his father's death Hoffmann began training as a plumber, but after failing the final exam twice he dropped out of training. After her worked for the German Red Cross as a paramedic at major events for five years, he met his future wife, whom he soon married. From the year 2000 Hoffmann worked for a security company in Bremerhaven, where he regulated bus tickets. During this time, he was again accused of raping a 17-year-old, whom he had met while working.
As a result, Leonov has the strongest claim to have been the Soviets' first choice for the first man on the Moon. After Komarov's death in Soyuz 1 in 1967, Gagarin was taken out of training and the groups were restructured. Despite the Soyuz 1 setback, the Soviets successfully rehearsed the automated docking of two uncrewed Soyuz craft in Earth orbit in 1968 and with the crewed Soyuz 4 and Soyuz 5 joint mission in early 1969 tested the other key mission elements. A total of 18 missions were related to the N1-L3 project.
The following season, Cholowski made the Red Wings opening night roster out of training camp. He made his NHL debut for the Red Wings on October 4, 2018, and scored his first career NHL goal in the second period against Joonas Korpisalo of the Columbus Blue Jackets. On February 14, 2019, Cholowski was assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins. Prior to being assigned to the Griffins, he recorded seven goals and nine assists in 52 games for the Red Wings, ranking third in points among rookie defensemen in the NHL.
The following season, as NHL play resumed, Higgins made the Canadiens' roster out of training camp. He scored his first career NHL goal on October 6, 2005, against New York Rangers goalie Kevin Weekes during an away game at Madison Square Garden. The Canadiens won the contest 4–3 in overtime. He finished the season with 23 goals, ranking seventh among league rookies, and 15 assists for a total of 38 points. A month into the 2006–07 season, Higgins suffered a sprained left ankle during a game against the New Jersey Devils.
The following season, Repik was sent back to the AHL out of training camp. After recording 22 points over the first 17 games of the season (tying him for second in league scoring at the time), he was recalled by the Panthers in mid-November 2010. A spot was freed up in the lineup after winger Steve Bernier suffered a fractured orbital bone. He spent the season splitting time between Rochester and Florida once more and finished with 45 points over 53 AHL games and 8 points over 31 NHL games.
Searle was a great sculler; no stylist, he had a powerful action characterized by perfect boat control; he trained much harder than was usual and could break opponents with sudden, repeated and sustained bursts of speed. He was 5 ft 10 ins (178 cm) tall, rowed at 11 stone 9 lbs. (74 kg), but weighed 13 stone 3 lbs. (84 kg) when out of training; his measurements were: chest 41½ ins (105 cm), biceps 13½ ins (34 cm), forearm 11 ins (28 cm), thigh 22 ins (56 cm) and calf 16 ins (41 cm).
After reaching the Calder Cup Final, Palát and his teammates had the unique opportunity at back-to-back AHL championships, despite playing for two different hockey clubs. The Crunch, however, would fall to the Grand Rapids Griffins in the Final. Palát would make the Lightning's 2013–14 opening roster out of training camp, along with his AHL line-mates Tyler Johnson and Richard Pánik. At the end of the season, he was nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy, awarded to the NHL's rookie of the year, along with teammate Tyler Johnson.
On February 19, 1998, he signed a four-year contract as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles used him at right guard, where he started six games. The next year, with the arrival of new head coach Andy Reid, he walked out of training camp for one day, after being told of his demotion in favor of rookie Doug Brzezinski. When he came back, Reid made him push a blocking sled the length of a practice field under the heat, in front of some players, coaches, executives and the media.
For the second consecutive year, he made the Rangers roster out of training camp, with Vigneault calling him one of the most consistent players throughout the camp. But he again struggled once the regular season began, and on October 17 was sent back to the Hartford Wolf Pack, along with J. T. Miller. Fast had nine points (one goal, eight assists) over the next 11 matches for Hartford, including two 2-assist games on October 24, and November 8, notching his sole goal in a 4–3 win over the Worcester Sharks on November 2.
Underwood was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round (29th overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft, after his stock rose with his pre-draft workouts. On August 1, he signed a five-year, $5.3 million contract with a $1.7 million bonus. He walked out of training camp the next day on August 2, after the first practice and never returned. On August 13, he was waived and forfeited a $1.75 million bonus saying he could not resolve the conflict between playing football and serving his Christian faith.
With the Falcons, he played in 36 games, scoring nine goals and adding 11 assists. At the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Columbus severed their ties with Filatov, trading him to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a third-round pick. Filatov left his family vacationing in the Dominican Republic and joined the Senators for their development camp at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. He made the Senators out of training camp, but was a healthy scratch several times, splitting his time with Ottawa and the Binghamton Senators of the AHL.
Sanheim made Philadelphia's final roster out of training camp and started the 2017–18 season in the NHL. He scored his first NHL goal on December 14, 2017, in his 28th NHL game, to help the Flyers defeat the Buffalo Sabres 2–1. He was reassigned to Philadelphia's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, on January 22, 2018, but was later recalled on March 9 due to an injury to Robert Hägg. Sanheim made his Stanley Cup playoff debut during the first round of the 2018 playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
On October 11, 2016, the Tampa Bay Lightning announced Point had made the opening night roster out of training camp. Point had had an impressive training camp, recording three preseason goals. Lightning captain Steven Stamkos stated that he believed Point deserved to play in the NHL. Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman stated that the team "felt like he's earned the right for us to give him a look right off the bat." On October 13, 2016, Point made his NHL debut in a 6–4 Lightning win over the visiting Detroit Red Wings.
But for the playoffs Higgins returned to Ray, who led the Eskimos to the 90th Grey Cup, which they lost to the Montréal Alouettes, coached by Maas's first CFL head coach, Don Matthews. In 2003, Maas was looking to regain his starting job from Ray, but suffered a back injury during the off-season. The condition was severe enough to require surgery and Ray became the starter out of training camp. Maas was the holder for kicker Sean Fleming as he healed, but by Week Eight he was completely healthy.
Navas suffered from chronic homesickness, to the extent he walked out of training camps in Spain because they were too far away from Seville. He also suffered from anxiety attacks and seizures, and initially refused to travel with Sevilla during pre-season to the United States due to his homesickness, later changing his mind in a bid to rid himself of this condition. Navas' older brother, Marco, was also a footballer and a midfielder. After also graduating from Sevilla's youth academy he made three first-team appearances, and played mainly in the Segunda División.
Sherwood made the Ducks' 2018 opening night roster out of training camp. He made his NHL debut on October 4, where he recorded his first career NHL point to help the Ducks beat the San Jose Sharks 5–2. He recorded his first career NHL goal in a 5–3 loss to the Dallas Stars on October 13. As an impending restricted free agent following the conclusion of his entry-level deal, Sherwood was not tendered a qualifying offer by the Ducks and was released to free agency on October 9, 2020.
Compared by some scouts to Zdeno CharaSenators big on Jared Cowen - Ottawa Senators - Features and Derian Hatcher, Cowen was expected to challenge for a roster spot in Ottawa for the 2010–11 season. Cowen made it to the final cuts at the 2010 training camp before being returned to junior. Cowen was a member of the Binghamton Senators' 2011 Calder Cup championship team in his first season of professional hockey. In 2011–12, Cowen made the Ottawa roster out of training camp and played regularly, being paired with veteran defenceman Sergei Gonchar.
On March 22, 2006, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Quinn, joining quarterbacks Tee Martin, Russ Michna and Kevin Glenn on Winnipeg's roster. In his CFL preseason debut against the Alouettes on June 2, Quinn threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Quentin McCord however the Blue Bombers lost 25-24. After making the team out of training camp, Quinn injured his sternum and shoulder which caused him to miss three weeks. In his first week back with Winnipeg, Quinn was forced into the starting role after Glenn suffered a knee injury.
He appeared in 70 games with Omaha in his first full AHL season in 2006–07, scoring two goals and six assists. Pardy did not earn much ice time initially as the coaches played him sparingly for the first three months of the season. As his play improved, he earned greater responsibilities with the Knights. Entering his third season of professional hockey in 2007–08, Pardy continued to impress the Flames organization with his development, and while he did not make the team out of training camp, he was one of the final cuts.
Lindsey Moore (born June 3, 1991) is an American professional basketball player, who formerly played for the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA, Virtus Elite La Spezia of LegA Basket Femminile and the Australian Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) for the West Coast Waves. Moore is a point guard, and played college basketball at the University of Nebraska, where she was an AP All-American. Moore was drafted in the first round by the Lynx, and made the team out of training camp. She is currently a backup guard on the team.
In 1988, he made 14 tackles, 2 sacks and was third on the team in special teams tackles. In 1989, he was chosen to replace the retired Dave Butz at left defensive tackle, but walked out of training camp threatening to retire, after dealing with the emergence of rookie Tracy Rocker and having a poor preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. After the incident, head coach Joe Gibbs refused to allow him to return and traded him to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a fifth round draft choice (#110-Junior Robinson).
Gbajabiamila went undrafted in the 2003 NFL Draft and later signed with the Oakland Raiders as a free agent. He made the team out of training camp and played in 13 of the team's 16 regular season games. He recorded seven tackles (four solo) on the season, with his first and only sack of the season coming against Daunte Culpepper, then with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2004, Gbaja-Biamila split time between defensive end and linebacker, occasionally filling in for players such as Travian Smith and Tyler Brayton.
Crawford signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on August 8, 2018. He made the Packers 53-man roster out of training camp after originally entering as a long shot to make the team, in part because he did not join the team until ten days after camp began. Crawford made his NFL debut during the Packers season opener against the Chicago Bears. Crawford was named the Packers' captain on special teams for the team's final game of the season against the Detroit Lions.
Lauren Drummond plays Chantelle Lane, an agency nurse fresh out of training who is eventually given a permanent staff position on Keller. Her friendly and dutiful manner have seen her take responsibility for failures that were not her fault. Chantelle leaves after realizing that Arthur feels more for her than she for him meaning they couldn't work together so one of them had to leave and so she decided it must be her. Chantelle gets on a bus and leaves after kissing him goodbye during his surprise birthday party.
Upon his junior club's first-round playoff elimination, he was reassigned to the Wolf Pack where he recorded 1 goal and 6 points over 12 games to finish the regular season. He then added 3 points in 23 post-season contests, helping the Wolf Pack to the franchise's first Calder Cup championship. Malhotra returned to the Wolf Pack the following season after failing to make the Rangers' roster out of training camp. With New York deep at the centre position, his AHL assignment was predicated on him learning to play wing.
On May 6, 2019, Sullivan signed with the Green Bay Packers and made the team out of training camp. In week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys, Sullivan intercepted a pass from Dak Prescott in the 34–24 win. Sullivan played in all 16 of the Packers' regular season games and recorded 30 tackles with six passes defended, one interception, and one forced fumble while also playing in both of the team's playoff games with one start. On March 17, 2020, the Packers tendered Sullivan for one year as an exclusive rights free agent.
Franks signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2018. Franks failed to make the Bengals' 53-man roster out of training camp and was subsequently signed to the team's practice squad. Franks was promoted to the active roster on October 23, 2018 after tight end Mason Schreck was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. Franks made his NFL debut on October 28, 2018 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and recorded his first career reception after catching a 32-yard pass from Andy Dalton.
Shuler was a first- round selection in the 1994 NFL Draft, taken by the Washington Redskins with the third overall pick. He held out of training camp until he received a 7-year, $19.25 million contract, most of the holdout being due to Shuler's agent and the Redskins general manager discussing the parameters of the contract. The Redskins had fallen on hard times since winning Super Bowl XXVI, and Shuler was considered the quarterback of the future. However, Shuler's poor play contributed to a quarterback controversy with fellow 1994 draft pick, seventh-rounder Gus Frerotte.
Making the Penguins out of training camp, Letang made his NHL debut in the 2006–07 season. He scored his first NHL goal in his third game, against Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers in a 6–5 win. However, after two goals in seven games, Letang was scratched twice and then returned to Val-d'Or for further development. Playing in his third season with Val-d'Or, he led the Foreurs to the 2007 QMJHL Finals with 31 points in the post-season, only to be swept by the Lewiston MAINEiacs in four games.
Hamhuis transitioned to the NHL the following season by making the Predators' line-up out of training camp. He scored his first NHL goal on October 16, 2003, a game winner on the powerplay against St. Louis Blues goaltender Chris Osgood; Nashville won the game 4–1. Late in the campaign, he recorded a five-point night (one goal and four assists) in a 9–4 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 4, 2004. He finished the season with seven goals and 26 points over 82 games with Predators in 2003–04.
Ledbetter signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2019 and made the team out of training camp. Ledbetter made his NFL debut on September 8, 2019, starting at defensive end and making four tackles with a combined sack in a 59-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He was placed on injured reserve on September 12, 2019. He was waived with a non-football injury designation on April 21, 2020, and reverted to the team's reserve/non- football injury list the next day.
Following an outstanding season with the Griffins, Miele was named to the AHL First All-Star Team. On July 1, 2015, the Red Wings signed Miele to a one-year contract extension. On July 1, 2016, the Philadelphia Flyers signed Miele to a one-year contract. In the 2016–17 season, Miele was assigned to the Flyers AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, out of training camp. Playing as a top- line forward, Miele continued in his offensive role in leading the club with 44 assists in 65 games.
During the 2018–19 QMJHL season, in just 59 games with Drummondville, he produced 42 goals and 62 assists for a 104 total points, helping the Voltigeurs reach the semi finals of the QMJHL playoffs, when he produced a further 8 goals and 9 assists in 16 games. On May 1, 2019, Veleno signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Red Wings. He did not make the Red Wings roster out of training camp, and began the 2019–20 season with the Wings AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
He would crack the Canucks' roster out of training camp in 1997–98, but a coaching change would alter his fortunes as new Canuck coach Mike Keenan decided to go in a different direction with larger, tougher players like Jamie Huscroft and Enrico Ciccone. Wotton was sent back to the AHL where he spent the next two seasons. Wotton left the Canucks organization in 1999 to sign with the Dallas Stars. He would spend 5 seasons in the Stars organization, but played only a single NHL game for them in the 2000–01 season.
Reeder signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2019 and made the team out of training camp. He made his NFL debut in the Rams season opener against the Carolina Panthers on September 8, 2019, making a tackle on special teams. Reeder made his first career start on October 3, 2019 against the Seattle Seahawks, replacing injured starter Bryce Hager and making a game-high 13 tackles. He started eight of the Rams last 12 games and finished his rookie season with 58 tackles and two forced fumbles.
He was held pointless through five AHL playoff games. Including his participation in the 2007 World Junior Championships, Bourdon played for five different teams throughout the 2006–07 season. Initially failing to make the Canucks starting roster out of training camp, Bourdon began the 2007–08 season with the Manitoba Moose; however, because of a series of injuries among the Canucks' defencemen throughout the season, Bourdon was called up on several occasions. Bourdon scored his first goal on November 16, 2007, against goaltender Niklas Bäckström in a 6–2 win over the Minnesota Wild.
He held this position through the end of his senior season. Days after Miami was eliminated from the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament and his college career had come to a close, Czarnik signed an entry-level deal with the Boston Bruins on March 31, 2015. He was assigned to the Bruins' AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins. Prior to the 2016–17 NHL season, Czarnik made the Boston Bruins' roster out of training camp, making his NHL debut on October 13 for the Bruins' 6–3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Connolly made the Lightning's NHL roster in October 2011 out of training camp. He then scored his first career NHL goal on November 1 against Cam Ward of the Carolina Hurricanes. His first professional season, however, was interrupted when he was loaned to Team Canada for a second-straight appearance at the IIHF World U20 Championships. On January 10, 2012, Prince George traded Connolly's WHL rights to the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a bantam draft pick and two conditional draft picks should Connolly return to the WHL; the condition was never met.
He made the Wild roster coming out of training camp when coach Jacques Lemaire saw the same intimidating effect on other teams his opposing coaches had, as well as the young player's propensity for winning fights. The rookie first skated on October 5, 2005, getting no points in 3:58 of ice time in a 6–3 win over the Calgary Flames. Within the season's second week he would have his first assist, fight and goal. The assist came on a goal by Wes Walz on October 14, 2005 in a 5–3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
Oystrick began the 2010–11 season with the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen, but on November 3, the Blues recalled him from Peoria. Oystrick signed a one-year contract as a free agent with the Phoenix Coyotes on July 6, 2011. In the 2011–12 season, Oysrick failed to make the Coyotes out of training camp and was reassigned to the team's affiliate, the Portland Pirates, for the duration of the year, scoring 43 points in 60 games. On June 2, 2012, Oystrick signed a one-year contract with Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) side Lev Praha.

After being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round (249th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft, Obomanu spent the entire 2006 season on the team's practice squad. Obomanu made the Seahawks' active roster out of training camp in 2007. His first NFL touchdown came in on October 14 in a Sunday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints. Obomanu caught a 17-yard Matt Hasselbeck pass late in the second quarter. Obomanu broke his collarbone in a preseason game against the Oakland Raiders on the 29th of August 2008 and he was placed on Injured Reserve the following day.
Ekblad was selected first overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers on June 27, 2014. Bacashihua was selected in the first round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars, 26th overall. He spent two seasons with the Stars' AHL affiliate Utah Grizzlies before he was traded on June 25, 2004 to the St. Louis Blues for Shawn Belle. Jason played for the Blues AHL affiliate's the Worcester IceCats and the Peoria Rivermen before being called up to the main Blues roster and making his NHL debut in the 2005–06 season. After failing to make the team out of training camp, Bacashihua was assigned to Peoria prior to the 2007–08 season.
Read signed a three-year contract as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers on March 24, 2011, after playing four seasons of collegiate hockey with Bemidji State University. Read made the Flyers roster out of training camp heading into the 2011–12 season and made his NHL debut on October 6, 2011, against the Boston Bruins. He scored his first NHL goal on October 8 against Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils. On October 18, Read recorded a career-high four points (one goal and three assists) in a 7–2 Flyers win over the Ottawa Senators.
Ford signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2018. He failed to make the active roster out of training camp and was subsequently re-signed by the Lions to the team's practice squad on September 2, 2018. Ford was promoted to the Lions' active roster on November 14, 2018 after offensive guard T. J. Lang was placed on injured reserve. Ford made his NFL debut on November 18, 2018, when he started at cornerback and played on special teams in a 20-19 win over the Carolina Panthers, recording two tackles.
He appeared in six games with Ottawa, going pointless. In 2000–01, Rachůnek made the Senators coming out of training camp. In his rookie season, he appeared in 71 games, scoring 3 goals and 33 points, averaging nearly 21 minutes of ice time per game and helping the Senators into the playoffs. He earned his first NHL point on November 11, 2000, an assist on a goal by Magnus Arvedson in the Senators' 4–3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. He would score his first NHL goal on January 16, 2001, on Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jamie Storr in a 7–6 loss.
Craven played his junior hockey with his hometown Medicine Hat Tigers, and his success there saw him selected by the Detroit Red Wings with their first-round pick (17th overall) in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He proceeded to make the Wings' NHL squad out of training camp at age 18, and recorded 4 goals and 11 points in 31 games before being returned to Medicine Hat. He would see 15 more games of NHL action in 1983–84, again splitting the year between Detroit and Medicine Hat. By this time he was dominating the WHL, recording 94 points in just 46 games.
Odum was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2018 and made the team out of training camp. Odum made his NFL debut on September 9, 2018 against the Cincinnati Bengals, playing on special teams. Odum made his first career start on November 18, 2018 after an injury to safety Malik Hooker in a 38-10 win against the Tennessee Titans and made 6 tackles, including one for a loss. Odum recorded his first career interception by picking off a pass from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in a 23-0 win on December 16, 2018.

Unable to make the Canadiens out of training camp and pre-season, Andrighetto returned to the Bulldogs for the 2014–15 season. He contributed a goal and two assists in a game on 2 December 2014 against the Adirondack Flames at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Recalled by the Canadiens in December, he made his NHL debut in a 4–1 loss to the Dallas Stars on 6 December, recording his first goal with assists from Tomáš Plekanec and Jiří Sekáč. He registered a point in his first three games to become the first Hab to do so since Pierre Mondou in 1978.
Training Squadron NINE (VT-9) is the third squadron, and second training squadron, to be designated VT-9. The first VT-9 was established in 1927 as Torpedo Squadron NINE flying the Curtis T-3M Convertible Land/Seaplane. The first Training Squadron NINE was established on December 15, 1961 at McCain Field, U.S. Naval Air Station, Meridian, Mississippi flying the T2J-1 Buckeye and calling themselves the "Tigers" when they were split out of Training Squadron SEVEN. In September 1962 the squadron's aircraft were redesignated to T-2A by the 1962 United States Tri-Service aircraft designation system.
On June 13, 2013, the Maple Leafs re-signed Orr to a two-year contract extension worth $1.85 million. On October 1, 2013, while playing for Toronto in their home opener against the Montreal Canadiens, Orr engaged once again with George Parros, now of the Habs, in the third period. Parros lost his balance and fell headfirst to the ice, where he was subsequently taken off on a stretcher and later diagnosed with a concussion. Orr failed to make the Maple Leafs' roster out of training camp for the 2014–15 season and was assigned to the Toronto Marlies after clearing waivers.
Rags to Riches in the paddock area at Belmont Park Despite several minor medical problems over the summer, Rags to Riches continued to train at Belmont Park towards the 2007 Breeder's Cup. She made her return to the races in the $250,000 Gazelle Stakes at Belmont Park on September 15 and finished second to Lear's Princess. It was announced the next day, September 16, that X-rays had revealed a hairline fracture in her right front pastern, and that her trainer, Todd Pletcher, had taken her out of training. She was expected to make a full recovery and return to racing in 2008.
He was named the second star of the game. Mauldin continued to make an impact with the Avalanche from the fourth line, most notably scoring two goals and two assists in a 7-4 victory over the Minnesota Wild on November 28, 2010, to be named first star of the game. Mauldin remained with the Avalanche for a career-high 29 games and 10 points before he was later returned to help Lake Erie to their first post-season berth. In the 2011–12 season, Mauldin failed to make the Avalanche out of training camp and was reassigned to Lake Erie.
On 5 March 2014, Namestnikov was reassigned to the Crunch after failing to register a point in four NHL games. He regained his scoring touch in Syracuse and on 6 January 2015, he represented the Eastern Conference in the AHL All-Star Game. Namestnikov made Tampa Bay's roster out of training camp to start the 2014–15 season. On 13 October 2014, he picked up his first career NHL point with an assist on a Victor Hedman goal, and soon after scored his first career NHL goal in a 7–1 Tampa victory over the Montreal Canadiens.
In 2007–08, Winnik made the Coyotes line- up out of training camp and scored his first NHL goal in his debut on October 4, 2007 in a 3–2 win against the St. Louis Blues. At the end of his first NHL year Winnik had established himself as a regular in the Coyotes team and was looked upon, by coach Wayne Gretzky, as the team's top penalty killer. Winnik with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2009. After a promising start to his NHL career, Dan suffered a sophomore slump in 2008–09, scoring just 7 points in 49 games.
As the colt had never been entered in the Belmont Stakes there was no hope of completing the Triple Crown, and shortly after the Derby it was announced that Determine would miss the Preakness Stakes, which was won in his absence by Hasty Road. Molter had explained that as Determine was a late foal and had already run nine times in 1954, he did not want to risk over-racing him. Back in California, Determine was sent out against older horses. Losing a few races, he was found to have an abscessed jaw and was taken out of training.
His first victory in a World Cup event came in October 2008, when he beat Yevhen Bolibrukh of the Ukraine. He took the victory in the kilo event with a time of 1:01.996, a clear margin of over a second over the rest of the field. After taking a silver medal in the Keirin at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Daniell underwent knee surgery that kept him out of training for 15 weeks. Subsequently he badly twisted his leg whilst riding on the road in the autumn of 2012, resulting in him losing 40 percent of the cartilage in his joint.
After going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, Schlottmann signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent which reunited him with high school teammate Courtland Sutton. He spent the entire 2018 season on the Broncos' practice squad, but made the active roster coming out of training camp in his second year with the team and made his regular season debut September 9, 2019 against the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football. He was named the starting right guard in Week 14 after Ronald Leary was out the rest of the season.
The only Chinese performer who has ever rivalled Bruce Lee's global fame is Jackie Chan. Like many kung fu performers of the day, Chan came out of training in Peking opera and started in film as a stuntman, notably in some of Lee's vehicles. He was groomed for a while by The Big Boss and Fist of Fury director Lo Wei as another Lee clone, in several movies including New Fist of Fury (1976), with little success. But in 1978, Chan teamed up with action choreographer Yuen Woo Ping on Yuen's directorial debut, Snake in the Eagle's Shadow.
When the NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement expired, Jackson became a Restricted Free Agent for an additional year, causing the Chargers to place a one-year, $3.2 million tender on him. Seeking a long-term deal instead, Jackson held out of training camp. After making the team out of training camp and beginning the 2017–18 season in the NHL with Ottawa, Brown returned to the Spitfires at the end of October. On October 27, in his second game back with the club, Brown recorded two goals and four points in a 7–2 win over the Sudbury Wolves. On November 11, Brown scored a hat-trick and added an assist in a 6–5 victory over the Kitchener Rangers. In January 2018, Brown was traded to the Kitchener Rangers along with Austin McEneny in exchange for Grayson Ladd and a package of four draft picks.
Philippe played in four games with the Avalanche and notched his first NHL point, an assist, in a 4-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on November 4, 2009. In the 2010–11 season, Dupuis made the Avalanche's opening night roster out of training camp, securing a position as the team's fourth line center. He scored his first NHL goal, which was short handed, on November 6, 2010, against Andrew Raycroft of the Dallas Stars, as part of a 5-0 home win for the Colorado Avalanche. He also had two assists and was named the first star of the game.
Brown almost made the Maple Leafs' NHL roster out of training camp for the 2015–16 season, but was assigned to the AHL to further his development. However, he would be called up to the team late in the season as part of an initiative by the team to give AHL rookies some late season experience. Brown made his NHL debut on March 17, 2016, against the Florida Panthers, and scored his first NHL goal on March 24 against future teammate Frederik Andersen of the Anaheim Ducks. Brown made the Maple Leafs full-time for the 2016–17 season.
Rielly made his professional debut at the end of the 2012–13 season with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL). At the start of the 2013–14 NHL season, Rielly made the Maple Leafs roster out of training camp. He made his NHL debut on October 5, 2013, against the Ottawa Senators. On December 16, 2013, Rielly scored his first NHL goal, against Stanley Cup winner Marc-André Fleury of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Rielly recorded his first multigoal game with two goals against Cam Talbot of the New York Rangers on February 10, 2015.
Macenauer was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the 3rd round (63rd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He played four seasons major junior hockey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before turning professional with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL in the 2009–10 ECHL season. With the start of the 2010–11 AHL season, Macenauer was promoted to the Syracuse Crunch, and the following year (2011-12), Macenauer made the Anaheim Ducks out of training camp. He scored his first NHL goal on October 14, 2011, in his third NHL game, against Thomas Greiss of the San Jose Sharks.
His first NHL goal was a game-winning overtime goal in a game against the Carolina Hurricanes on April 3, 2011. Gragnani signed a two-year contract extension with the Sabres in the 2011 offseason. After making the Sabres lineup for the first time out of training camp and earning a regular roster spot to begin the 2011–12 season, he was made a consistent healthy scratch by February 2012. At the NHL trade deadline, on February 27, he was traded along with forward Zack Kassian to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for forward Cody Hodgson and defenceman Alexander Sulzer.
Moog was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in 1980 and spent most of the season in the minors, until injuries to goaltenders Ron Low and Eddie Mio forced him into action late in the season. That year he was spectacular in a three-game first round sweep of the Montreal Canadiens. The following year, Moog was expected to share goaltending duties with Low, but then a 19-year-old Grant Fuhr surprisingly made the team straight out of training camp. Moog was once again relegated to the minors, appearing in only eight NHL games that season.
On July 13, 2011, Perreault signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Capitals. After two seasons bouncing back and forth between the AHL and NHL, Perreault made the Capitals' opening night roster out of training camp for the first time in 2011. Perreault recorded his first NHL hat trick on January 24, 2012, against Tuukka Rask of the Boston Bruins in Washington's 5–3 victory. Perreault was traded from the Capitals to the Anaheim Ducks on September 29, 2013, in exchange for winger John Mitchell and a fourth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
Wright was signed by the New England Patriots after going undrafted in the 2005 NFL Draft. He made the Patriots' roster out of training camp and played in 13 games in his 2005 rookie season. He was placed on injured reserve on January 6, 2007, and missed the team's two playoff games. In the second week of the 2006 season, Wright made his first career start, and made four overall starts on the year. He led the team once in tackles and twice in special teams tackles in 2006. Wright played in nine games in 2007 before being placed on injured reserve on December 13.
Following surgery on his shoulder during the off-season, Luck was held out of training camp and the preseason, and it was announced he was to miss regular season games. Scott Tolzien started for the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams, and the newly acquired Jacoby Brissett took over as the starter in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals. Following the Colts' Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Colts' general manager Chris Ballard stated that Luck would begin practicing but was not ready to fully return to games. On November 2, the Colts placed Luck on injured reserve, meaning that he was ruled out for the 2017 season.
Dallas Drake was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft in the 6th round, 116th overall. During his junior year at Northern Michigan, he was a key factor in the team winning the 1991 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship. In the final game, NMU teammate Darryl Plandowski scored the winning goal as the Wildcats defeated Boston University 8–7 in triple overtime. Following a stellar four-year college career, Drake made the Red Wings roster out of training camp without playing in the minor leagues. He enjoyed a fine rookie season in 1992–93, posting 44 points on 18 goals and 26 assists.
In the 2017–18 season, Bigras made the Avalanche opening night roster out of training camp. He appeared in 15 games with the Avalanche, registering a lone assist before he was reassigned to the San Antonio Rampage on November 28, 2017. Bigras suffered an injury with the Rampage and was limited to 20 games before he was dealt by the Avalanche at the NHL trade deadline to the New York Rangers in exchange for Ryan Graves on February 26, 2018. Following the conclusion of his contract with the Rangers, Bigras was not tendered a qualifying offer and was released as a free agent on June 25, 2019.
Westbrook signed a five-year contract extension with the Eagles in November 2005, after holding out of training camp and months of hectic negotiations. On December 6, 2005, with over 1,200 total yards rushing and receiving, it was announced that Westbrook would miss the rest of the 2005 season due to a mid-foot injury he sustained during a 42-0 Monday night loss to the Seattle Seahawks. During the 2005 season, numerous Eagles starters battled injuries throughout the entire year, and the team finished 6-10 just one year removed from their Super Bowl berth. Westbrook resumed his productivity in 2006, despite early injury concerns over a swollen knee.
Hall played his junior hockey with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League, and was selected 116th overall in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks. By the 1983–84 season he was dominating the WHL and finished the year with 63 goals and 142 points, good for fourth in the league. He also made his NHL debut, appearing in four games for the Canucks and scoring his first NHL goal. Considered one of Vancouver's top young prospects, Hall cracked the Canucks' roster out of training camp for the 1984–85 campaign and got off to a great start with five points in his first seven games.
Lumley joined the Montreal Canadiens organization, and spent the majority of his first two seasons with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Nova Scotia Voyageurs. His play improved dramatically in his second season, where he was named a second-team all-star and was rewarded with a three-game call-up with the Canadiens. On June 13, 1979, Montreal traded Lumley and Dan Newman to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a second round pick, which was used on future NHL'er Ric Nattress. The following season (1979–80) Lumley made the Oilers out of training camp and posted solid totals in both points and penalty minutes in his official rookie season.
Vorobyev made his Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) debut playing with Salavat Yulaev Ufa during the 2015–16 KHL season. On 27 April 2017 Vorobyev signed a three-year, entry- level contract with Philadelphia Flyers. Following the Flyers training camp prior to the 2017–18 season, Vorobyov was assigned to the Flyers American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. After playing one season with the Phantoms, Vorobyev made the Flyers 2018–19 season opening night roster out of training camp. He made his NHL debut on 4 October 2018, where he earned one assist in a 5–2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.
On December 23, 2017, while playing against the Colorado Avalanche, Rinaldo sucker-punched Colorado defenceman Samuel Girard and was suspended for six games. On July 2, 2018, Rinaldo reunited with former Flyers head coach Peter Laviolette in signing as a free agent to a one-year, two-way contract with the Nashville Predators. Rinaldo made the Predators opening night roster out of training camp, and remained with the team for the majority of the 2018–19 season, posting 1 goal and 3 points in 23 appearances. As a free agent from the Predators, Rinaldo went un-signed over the summer before accepting an invitation to attend the Calgary Flames training camp.
On April 5, 2001, Kennison signed a two-year, $1.8 million deal that included a $500,000 signing bonus with the Denver Broncos. He earned a starting role out of training camp, but after eight unproductive games, Kennison requested to be released from the team only a few hours before a game in which he was scheduled to start. He stated at the time he had "lost his love for the game", and as a result Kennison retired and was released on November 15, 2001. The loss of Kennison, along with a severe injury to Ed McCaffrey decimated a once dominant Broncos corps of wide receivers.
When the use of paratroops was contemplated for Operation Torch, Williams was given the task of organizing and commanding the 51st Troop Carrier Wing. The headquarters of the 51st Troop Carrier Wing arrived in Scotland on 1 September 1942 and was assigned to the Eighth Air Force. Williams was given all three of the troop carrier groups in the theater: the 60th Troop Carrier Group, the 62nd Troop Carrier Group and the 64th Troop Carrier Group. None of them had their full complement of 52 C-47 aircraft and many of the personnel of their air and ground crews were fresh out of training schools.
Mitchell was selected in the eighth round of the 1966 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins but opted to sign with the newly formed Miami Dolphins of the American Football League, joining Tennessee teammate Frank Emanuel. Mitchell initially lived out of his car during training camp, expecting to be cut, and spent much of his rookie season on the taxi squad, playing in two games during the Dolphins' inaugural season. He made the team out of training camp the following year and rushed 83 times for 269 yards and three touchdowns and catching 18 passes for 133 yards and another touchdown. His four touchdowns tied for the team lead.
Fast skirmishers armed with javelins were also used to drive them away, as javelins and similar weapons could madden an elephant. Elephants were often unarmoured and vulnerable to blows to their flanks, so Roman infantry armed with some sort of flaming object or with a stout line of pikes, such as Triarii, would often attempt to make the elephant turn to expose its flank to the infantry, making the elephant susceptible to a pike thrust or a skirmisher's javelin. The cavalry sport of tent pegging grew out of training regimes for horsemen to incapacitate or turn back war elephants. One famous historical method for disrupting elephant units was the war pig.
He made his NHL debut on February 28, 2016, against the Edmonton Oilers. He recorded his first career NHL goal on March 17, in a 4–2 loss to the Nashville Predators.. Pulock also scored his first Stanley Cup playoff goal, a power play goal in Game 3 against the Florida Panthers, in the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs. Pulock began the 2016–17 season with the Islanders but sustained an injury at the beginning of the season, and spent the rest of the year in the AHL. The following season fared better for Pulock, who made the team out of training camp and played the entire season in the NHL.
Zaccheaus signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2019 and made the 53-man roster out of training camp. Zaccheaus made his NFL debut on October 13, 2019 against the Arizona Cardinals, making a tackle on special teams. In the Falcons' 40–20 victory against the Carolina Panthers on December 8, 2019, Zaccheaus recorded his first reception in the NFL, a 93-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan, which was the third-longest reception in franchise history, and set an NFL record for the longest first catch. In Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers, Zaccheaus returned a fumble for a touchdown in the closing seconds of the 29–22 win.
On October 1, 2009, Bissonnette was claimed on waivers by the Phoenix Coyotes after failing to make the Penguins' NHL roster out of training camp. On October 12, 2009, Bissonnette's first fight as a Coyote occurred against Jody Shelley of the San Jose Sharks. On November 12, 2009, Bissonnette scored his first NHL goal, against goaltender Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens in a 4–2 loss. On October 5, 2011, Bissonnette signed a two-year contract extension with the Coyotes. During the 2011–12 season, on November 19, 2011, Bissonnette scored the game- winning goal, playing in front of his mother and grandparents for the first time as an NHL player.
Emerging from his major junior career, Vermette played the 2002–03 season with Ottawa's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. In 74 games, he scored 18 goals and 20 assists and earned a place on the AHL All-Rookie Team. The following season, 2003–04, Vermette earned an NHL roster spot with Ottawa out of training camp. In his rookie NHL season, he would appear in 57 games, scoring 14 points. During the 2004–05 NHL lock-out, Vermette returned to Binghamton and scored 28 goals and 45 assists, second in team scoring only to Jason Spezza. As NHL play resumed the next season, Vermette broke out with 21 goals.
After appearing in only one NHL game with the Penguins the previous year, he made the club out of training camp. He has played a large role, including being featured on the first unit power-play. On January 9, 2012, Potter signed a two-year extension with the Oilers In his 62nd game after Potter was hit by Bobby Ryan of the Anaheim Ducks, he suffered a concussion, and missed the remainder of the regular season. On October 2, 2012 he signed a temporary NHL lockout contract with the Vienna Capitals of the Austrian Hockey League. Potter appeared in 17 games for 4 points before returning to the Oilers for the shortened 2012–13 season.
In the 2010 off- season, Benoit left the Canadiens organization and signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Ottawa Senators. He failed to make the NHL team out of training camp and was assigned to its AHL affiliate in Binghamton. He was called up to Ottawa in February 2011 and played in eight regular season games. He was returned to Binghamton for the post-season, helping Binghamton win the 2011 Calder Cup and for a third time in his career led all AHL defenseman in assists in the playoffs. In the 2011 off-season Benoit returned to Europe, signing a one-year contract with Spartak Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League.
The programme was set in the fictional Fenn Street Secondary Modern School, and starred John Alderton as Bernard Hedges, a young teacher fresh out of training college. The supporting cast included Deryck Guyler, Joan Sanderson and Richard Davies. Character actors and actresses formed the guest cast, including Mollie Sugden as a parent of one of the pupils, Barbara Mitchell as Frankie Abbott's mother, and Ann Lancaster as Mrs Pearce in a pair of 1968 episodes. Bernard Hedges and the 5C pupils were replaced by a new teacher and pupils for the final series in 1971–72, while the original pupils continued in a spin-off series, The Fenn Street Gang, which ran for 47 episodes between 1971 and 1973.
Warhop was named the co-offensive line coach for the St. Louis Rams on February 8, 1996. In the 1997 NFL Draft the Rams took offensive tackle Orlando Pace with the first overall selection. Pace held out of training camp for three weeks to get a bigger contract, and Warhop was angry, stating that Pace "lost a good part of the year." In an attempt to speed up the playbook-learning process, Warhop was assigned as a special tutor for Pace. Warhop was hired by the Arizona Cardinals as the offensive line coach on February 10, 1998. His contract expired at the conclusion of the 2002 season, and was not re-signed.
In the AHL, he finished the regular season with 32 points (17 goals and 15 assists) over 56 games, tying for 31st among league rookies and 10th among River Rats players. Bowman added nine points (three goals and six assists) over eight games in the playoffs (ranking fifth among rookies and tying for first in team scoring) as the River Rats were eliminated in the second round by the Hershey Bears. Bowman during a game on March 16, 2011 Bowman made the Hurricanes' roster out of training camp in 2010–11, but was returned to the AHL within a month. With the Hurricanes having changed their minor league affiliate, he joined a new team, the Charlotte Checkers.
Getzlaf made the Mighty Ducks' roster out of training camp and began the 2005–06 season in Anaheim; he made his NHL debut on October 5, 2005, against the Chicago Blackhawks. After recording his first point with an assist on October 14 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Getzlaf scored his first NHL goal seven days later against goaltender Manny Legace of the Detroit Red Wings. Though Getzlaf had seven points in his first 16 games with Anaheim, he was demoted to the AHL's Portland Pirates in mid- November, partially to gain more playing time than he was getting in Anaheim. He appeared in 17 games for the Pirates in which he scored 8 goals and added 25 assists.
Despite his strong collegiate career, Bodden received little press and went undrafted in 2003. However, Bodden made the 53-man roster of the Cleveland Browns out of training camp in 2003 and contributed heavily as a special teams player and nickel cornerback, playing in 13 games in his rookie year. He recorded his first career NFL interception against the Arizona Cardinals off a fourth-quarter pass by Josh McCown. The 2004 season saw Bodden further establish himself as a force on special teams. He tied for the team lead with 18 special tackles and recorded his first career forced fumble. Bodden's season ended in the third quarter of a Week 8 match-up against AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens.
The group was originally called "Tiger Force", but was later renamed as "Garud Force". In order to address the need for a dedicated force, in September 2003, the Government of India authorized a 1080 strong force to be raised and trained on the lines of the Para commandos of the army and MARCOS of the Indian Navy, with the mandate of performing niche, Air Force specific operational tasks. Soon after, the first batch of 100 volunteers from the IAF No.1 Airmen Training Center at Belgaum, Karnataka were earmarked to undergo Garud Training at Gurgaon. The Garuds were first unveiled on 6 February 2004, when the first batch of 62 "Air Commandos" passed out of training in New Delhi.
On January 23, 2008, Bagg signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the team that had expressed interest in him before the 2007 season. After again making the active roster out of training camp, Bagg dressed as a receiver for 16 games in 2008. After a plethora of injuries at the receiver position, Bagg was pressed into service during the Banjo Bowl versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers where he recorded his first CFL reception and finished the game with six catches for 52 yards in the Roughriders' comeback win. He had an explosive game against Montreal where he had six catches for 146 yards, including a 72-yard reception, and was named the CFL’s Canadian Player of the Week.
With two more extended stints with the Rangers throughout the season, Parenteau posted eight points in 22 games, producing enough league-wide interest to earn him a free agent contract from the New York Islanders for one-year on July 2, 2010. Parenteau with the Colorado Avalanche in December 2013 Parenteau made the Islanders' opening night roster out of training camp and found a permanent spot on the top line alongside John Tavares and Matt Moulson. After establishing himself with the Islanders, Parenteau was quickly signed to a one-year extension on February 17, 2011. At the end of his first full season in the NHL, he scored 20 goals and 53 points, finishing the season second in scoring for the Islanders.
These successes led the Newcastle people to think that they had another champion at hand ready to do battle for the championship, which had vanished from their sight by the last defeat of Boyd by Higgins, and there is little doubt at that time they really had got the best man in the north. With commendable spirit they issued the challenge to the champion, and they also made a match with Thomas, of Hammersmith, to row on 6 May 1878, for £200. Higgins, who was then champion of England, accepted the challenge to row Elliott, and the match was made. Thus it will be seen that in the short space of five months Elliott had scarcely been out of training, and he had to row four matches.
With the Vancouver Canucks On July 3, 2011, Pinizzotto signed a one-year, two- way deal ($600,000) with the Vancouver Canucks after receiving contract offers from 9 other NHL teams. Pinizzotto was slated to fill a 4th line spot with the Canucks right out of training camp. The Canucks saw him as a Raffi Torres replacement. His combination of physicality, puck-handling ability and scoring, skating well, finishing checks, going hard to the net and his defensive ability impressed Coach Alain Vigneault. He recorded 2-assist, 5-hit effort in a preseason home opener against the Calgary Flames and finishing the preseason tied for the highest plus/minus on the team at plus-3 and 5 points in 4 games.
The next month the project announced their final two candidates, one of whom would fly the mission with the other acting as her backup. After over a year of selection the Thiele-Eich and Baumann were selected from the original pool of 400 candidates, in August 2017 the two traveled to Star City, Russia for their first round of training, which included Parabolic flight "Zero-G" training, medical training, Russian language, Thiele-Eich also trained to obtain her pilots license as part of the training, which was not needed for Baumann who was already a professional pilot. In April 2018, the organisation announced that Baumann had pulled out of training with the project, her replacement was Dr. Suzanna Randall, who was one of the original six finalists.
The following season, Niemi made the Blackhawks lineup out of training camp. The Blackhawks began their season with a back-to-back season opening series against the Florida Panthers, held in Niemi's native Finland in the city of Helsinki. The first game of the season opener was held 2 October 2009. Niemi started the second game, held on 3 October. In that game, Niemi stopped all 23 shots he faced against the Panthers to earn his first NHL shutout. Compiling a very respectable record of 26–7–4 during the regular season, Niemi was named the Blackhawks' starting goaltender for the playoffs near the end of the 2009–10 NHL regular season and prior to the 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs, replacing Cristobal Huet.
In his first North American season in 2019–20, Lilja made the Blue Jackets opening night roster out of training camp and made his NHL debut against the Toronto Maple Leafs on 4 October 2019. Given a role on the fourth-line, Lilja appeared in 37 games over the course of the regular season, registering 2 goals and 5 points. He split the season with AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, notching 13 points through 25 contests. After receiving permission by the Blue Jackets to find a new team during the suspension of the NHL season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Lilja went to play in Kazakhstan after he was signed to a one-year deal with Barys Nur-Sultan of the KHL on 24 June 2020.
Australia endured an injury-plagued tour. Wallaby captain Michael Lynagh suffered a badly dislocated shoulder in Australia's victory over Ireland, loosehead props Tony Daly and Cameron Lillicrap and centre Anthony Herbert were required to fly back to Australia due to injuries, and Australian second-rower John Eales suffered a shoulder injury that sidelined him for a year in the game against Llanelli. In addition, Australia's two wingers David Campese and Paul Carozza were both forced to sit out of training sessions "nursing niggling injury concerns." Australia came under scrutiny following losses in provincial games to Munster, Swansea, and Llanelli - matches in which Campese did not play. Australian team management selected a full-strength side, including Campese, for Australia's first touring match against Leinster (won 35-11).
Acquired to initially to provide depth insurance to the defense, O'Brien impressed out of training camp and made his Avalanche debut on the opening night of the 2011–12 season in a 3-0 defeat to the Detroit Red Wings. With his experience, physicality and leadership he quickly became a fixture on the defense of a youthful Avalanche team and appeared in his 400th career game in a 4-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on November 20. With a more prominent role entrusted than given with former clubs, O'Brien matched a career high with 17 assists and finished with 20 points for his best statistical season since 2008. He also finished second amongst the Avalanche with 105 penalty minutes.
On July 16, 2015, O'Brien signed as a free agent to a one-year, two-way contract in a return his original NHL club, the Anaheim Ducks. Unable to make the Ducks roster out of training camp, O'Brien added a veteran presence to AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls, for the duration of the 2015–16 season, posting 1 goal and 17 points in 57 games. With his NHL opportunities exhausted, O'Brien remained a free agent over the summer and into the 2016–17 season. On January 10, 2017, O'Brien opted to sign his first contract abroad, agreeing to an initial two-week contract that would extend for the remainder of the season with Finnish club, HPK of the Liiga.
Niemann signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent and made the final 53-man roster out of training camp. He made his NFL debut on September 9, 2018 in the season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, playing on special teams. Niemann made his first career start on November 11 in the Chiefs 26-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals and led the team with 6 tackles. Niemann finished his rookie season with 10 tackles made in 14 games played, mostly on special teams, and appeared in both the Chiefs postseason games, defending a pass in the endzone against the Indianapolis Colts in the divisional round and making two tackles on special teams in the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots.
With the intention to gain a one-way contract in the NHL, Benoit succeeded in signing as a free agent to a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche on July 5, 2013. Benoit made the 2013–14 opening night roster out of training camp, and on his Avalanche debut he logged a game-high in ice time in a 6-1 rout of the Anaheim Ducks on October 2, 2013. Solidifying a blueline position with the Avalanche as a puck moving defenseman, Benoit scored his first goal for the Avalanche and became the first Blueliner in three years to record three points (a career high) in a 4-3 overtime win against the Phoenix Coyotes on November 21, 2013.
Kulak was born in Edmonton, Alberta. He was selected in the third round, 115th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft from the Victoria Cougars of the WHL. He would make his debut for the team at the age of just 19 in the 1982–83 season, appearing in 4 games and registering a goal and an assist. Considered one of the team's top prospects at this point, his career would go awry the following year when he suffered a serious abdominal injury which required surgery and forced him to miss almost two seasons. In 1986–87, Kulak would crack the Canucks' roster out of training camp, appearing in 21 games before being waived and claimed by the Edmonton Oilers.
Fleischmann failed to make the Capitals' opening night roster out of training camp for the 2006–07 season and scored 51 points in only 45 games in spending the majority of the first half of the campaign with the Bears. On February 24, 2007, Fleishmann scored his first NHL goal in a 4–2 victory against Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils. He remained in Washington to play in the team's final 21 games and on March 18, 2007, he recorded the first multi-point game of his career, scoring the first two goals of the game and assisting in two others to be named second star of the game in a 7–1 rout of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
PCSOs were featured in the BBC Radio 4 sitcom by Dave Lamb Hobby Bobbies. In 2009 the long running children's British comedy television series ChuckleVision featured PCSOs in Season 21, Episode 2 "Top of the Cops" where the shows main characters the Chuckle Brothers Paul & Barry Chuckle are depicted as PCSOs fresh out of training sent out on patrol for the first time. In 2015, a PCSO is shown guarding a crime scene on No Offence, episode 6, where he has a brief conversation with a Detective Inspector and Detective Constable. In 2016, season 2 of the BBC series Happy Valley featured Ann Gallagher, played by Charlie Murphy, becoming a PCSO following the events of her kidnapping in the first season.
The next season, in 2005–06, Carter made the Flyers' roster out of training camp. He was joined by fellow rookies Mike Richards and R. J. Umberger, who were both also instrumental in the Phantoms' Calder Cup championship of the previous season. He scored his first career NHL goal on October 27, 2005, against Roberto Luongo of the Florida Panthers. He finished the campaign first in team-scoring among rookies with 23 goals and 42 points. Carter with the Flyers in September 2010 After 37- and 53-point efforts in his second and third NHL seasons, respectively, Carter and the Flyers agreed to a three-year, $15-million contract extension on June 27, 2008, days before he was set to become a restricted free agent.
Concurrent with the phase-out of training at No. 1 FTS, British Aerospace was contracted to conduct flight grading at its base in Tamworth, New South Wales. Subsequent all-through flight training on the Pilatus PC-9 took place at No. 2 FTS, Pearce. In 1998, British Aerospace was granted a contract to supply tri-service basic flying instruction at the newly formed Australian Defence Force Basic Flying Training School (ADFBFTS) in Tamworth, the first course commencing in January 1999 on CT-4B Airtrainers, and No. 2 FTS again became responsible for advanced flying training only. ADFBFTS thus became, according to the school's head of training, "the No. 1 Flying Training School you have when you don't have a No. 1 Flying Training School".
Despite the loss at the Olympics, Brian would end 2016 strong, scoring in both games in a series of friendlies against Romania Brian would play in the 2017 SheBelieves Cup but would suffer a minor knee injury that would cause her to miss a series of friendlies against Russia the following month as well as friendlies against Sweden and Norway in June. Brian would return in the 2017 Tournament of Nations but would play only as a late game sub against Australia. Brian would spend the rest of 2017 in and out of training camps due to nagging injuries and would sparingly find playing minutes as a late game sub. These injuries would carry over into 2018 as Brian was left out of the team's January camp.
Robinson signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2020 shortly after the conclusion of the 2020 NFL Draft. Robinson made the Jaguars' 53-man regular season roster out of training camp and was announced as the team's starting running back several days later. Robinson made his NFL debut in Week 1 of the 2020 season against the Indianapolis Colts. He recorded 16 carries for 62 rushing yards and a reception in which he leapt over Colts safety Khari Willis for 28 receiving yards in the 27–20 victory. Robinson became the fourth undrafted rookie running back to start week one since 1970, and set the record for most rushing yards for an undrafted rookie in Week 1.
After three seasons with the Otters, DeBrincat made the Blackhawks roster out of training camp at the start of the 2017–18 season. He made his NHL debut on October 5, 2017, in a 10–1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. On October 10, DeBrincat scored his first NHL goal in a game against the Montreal Canadiens on goaltender Carey Price. On November 27, DeBrincat recorded his first NHL hat trick against the Anaheim Ducks making him the second youngest Blackhawks player to score a hat trick, just behind Jeremy Roenick by four days. He scored his second hat trick of the season on January 25, 2018, against the Detroit Red Wings to cinch a 5–1 win in his home state of Michigan.
Tolwyn orders Lieutenant Christopher Blair (Freddie Prinze, Jr.), whose father he knew from a previous conflict called the Pilgrim Wars, to carry orders to the carrier TCS Tiger Claw in the Vega Sector, under the command of Captain Jason Sansky (David Suchet), to fight a suicidal delaying action to buy the needed time. Lieutenants Blair and Todd Marshall (Matthew Lillard) are pilots fresh out of training, traveling aboard the small supply ship Diligent, commanded by Captain James Taggart (Tchéky Karyo), to their new posting aboard the Tiger Claw. En route, the ship gets pulled into a gravity well and loses its navigation computer. While Taggart repairs it, Blair is able to space-jump them to safety, calculating the jump in under ten seconds.
Roy began the 2003–04 season with the Sabres' then-minor league affiliate, the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League (AHL). After scoring at a point-per-game pace after 26 games with the Americans, he was called up to the NHL and played the majority of the season in Buffalo, tallying 19 points in his 49-game rookie season. Sabres in 2012. Roy was back with the Americans the next season due to the 2004–05 NHL lock-out. He failed to make the Sabres out of training camp when NHL play resumed in 2005–06. After scoring 20 points in eight games with the Americans, including a multiple five-point performances), he was recalled to the Sabres.
The inquiry into Vayrann's positive test took place at a private session of the Jockey Club's disciplinary committee on 7 June 1982. The horse's urine sample had been found to contain Estrane-3.17 Diol a substance produced by the breakdown of anabolic steroids. The use of steroids is banned in British racing (although at the time they were allowed to be used as a medication for horses who were out of training) and it was widely expected that Vayrann would be disqualified. The Aga Khan's team of experts argued that it was possible for a male horse to produce Estrane naturally as a breakdown product from testosterone, and that the Jockey Club's list of prohibited substances only covered those which were administered externally.
However, he did not play in the Pro Bowl for the second straight season. In the 2007 offseason, Seymour had surgery on the left knee he had originally injured more than two years prior, an injury he said had hampered his conditioning and play during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. The surgery kept Seymour out of training camp and the preseason, and eventually the Patriots decided to keep Seymour on the Physically Unable to Perform list, keeping him out at least the first six weeks of the regular season. Seymour was activated from the PUP on October 27, and played the balance of the regular season and the playoffs, including Super Bowl XLII, a loss to the New York Giants.
Lynch with the Seahawks in 2014 On July 24, 2014, former Seahawks fullback and good friend Michael Robinson announced on NFL Network's Inside Training Camp, that Lynch would hold out of Training Camp while he waited for a restructured contract from the Seahawks. Lynch and the Seahawks quickly agreed to new terms for the season, and Lynch served as the starting running back for the team, ahead of backups Robert Turbin and Christine Michael. In the 2014 season opener, Lynch had 110 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in a 36–16 victory over the Green Bay Packers. During Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, he completed the first overtime drive by rushing for a touchdown, giving the Seahawks a 26–20 victory over Denver in a Super Bowl rematch.
After scoring just 3 goals in 20 games for the Devils, and showing a marked drop-off in his defensive play, Sharifijanov was shipped to the Vancouver Canucks for a draft pick. In Vancouver, he made an instant impact, scoring a goal on his first shift as a Canuck, but it was all downhill from there as he quickly became a healthy scratch and earned a reputation for lazy play. He finished the season with just 5 goals and 10 points in 37 games, as well as a +/- rating of a dismal -13. The 2000–01 season would prove no better, as Sharifijanov failed to crack the Canucks' roster out of training camp and was assigned to the Kansas City Blades of the International Hockey League, where he spent the entire season.
On February 15, 1995, the Pittsburgh Steelers chose to apply their franchise tag to Lake. Lake was disgruntled about not receiving a long-term contract and held out of training camp for 25 days. On August 15, 1995, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Lake to a four-year, $9.20 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $2 million. Lake and Darren Perry returned as the starting safeties to begin the regular season. In Week 6, he collected a season-high eight combined tackles during a 20–16 loss at the Jacksonville Jaguars. On October 19, 1995, Lake was moved to cornerback and replaced Alvoid Mays after the Pittsburgh Steelers' defense allowed Bengals' quarterback Jeff Blake to throw three touchdown passes during a 49–31 win at the Cincinnati Bengals.
His stay in the NHL was shortlived, however, as he was re-assigned to the Rampage on 23 January after Erik Johnson was activated from injured reserve. The following year, Zadorov made the Avalanche's lineup out of training camp and remained on their roster for the entirety of the 2016–17 season. In February 2017, Zadorov collided with forward Mikko Rantanen during practice and suffered a season-ending fractured ankle injury. At the time of the incident, he had recorded 10 assists and no goals in 56 games. Prior to the start of the 2017–18 season, the Avalanche signed him to a two-year contract extension to remain with the team. He was also medically cleared to play but was late returning for the Avalanche's 2017 training camp due to Visa issues.
The Patriots re-signed Neal off the Eagles' practice squad on December 12, 2001, and he was inactive for the final three games of his 2001 rookie season, as well as the playoffs and Super Bowl XXXVI. In 2002, Neal made the Patriots' 53-man roster out of training camp and spent the first four games of the season inactive before making his NFL debut as a reserve in Week 5. The next week against the Green Bay Packers, Neal made his first career start at guard, but suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the game and was placed on injured reserve on October 23, 2002. The shoulder injury caused Neal to miss the entire 2003 season as well, after being placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list to start the season.
Later in 1974, the Islanders made Gilles their first-round selection in the 1974 NHL draft, taking him fourth overall. Gillies was also selected by the World Hockey Association's Edmonton Oilers in the WHA draft, but signed with the Islanders, making the team out of training camp. It was during his rookie season of 1974–75, in the playoffs, that Gillies established himself as one of the toughest players in the National Hockey League (NHL), pummeling Philadelphia Flyers enforcer Dave Schultz."Loyal to Islanders and LI Too Gillies still a huge presence on adapted home turf" Newsday December 14, 2014 In the latter half of the 1976-77 NHL season, Gillies was named team captain; however, in spite of Gillies' articulate speaking manner and amiable nature, he never felt completely comfortable as captain.
Gagné was drafted 22nd overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft and made the Flyers out of training camp prior to the 1999–2000 season. His rookie season saw him play primarily at centre and score 20 goals and 28 assists in 80 games, good enough to be named to the NHL All-Rookie Team. He contributed 5 goals and 5 assists in 17 games during the playoffs before the Flyers lost in seven games to the New Jersey Devils in the Eastern Conference Finals. The following season, Gagné was converted from centre to wing. Playing on a line with Mark Recchi and Keith Primeau in the 2000–01 season, Gagné scored 27 goals and 32 assists in 69 games and took part in his first NHL All- Star Game.
Boston traded Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley, and Ryan Button; in exchange, they acquired Morrow, Loui Eriksson, Reilly Smith, and Matt Fraser. He played 33 games during the 2015–16 season and then re-signed with the Bruins to a one- year, one-way deal for $800,000. On July 1, 2017, Morrow signed as a free agent to a one-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens In the 2017–18 season, Morrow stuck with the Canadiens out of training camp. Despite Montreal dwindling in the standings, Morrow contributed with his best season performance in recording 5 goals and 11 points in 38 games. He was later traded on February 26, 2018, the day of the trade deadline, to the Winnipeg Jets for a fourth-round draft pick in 2018.
Zachary Rhyner and Army Special Forces soldiers of ODA 3336 in the Shok Valley prior to the battle On 6 April 2008, a 130-man combined assault force, dubbed Commando Wrath, performed a day-time rotary- wing insertion down into a remote valley of the Nuristan Province, Afghanistan. Commando Wrath was composed of three Special Forces teams with each team having a Combat Controller attached, and a company from the 201st Afghan Commando Battalion. Rhyner, just six months out of training and on his first deployment, was attached to the C2-element (command and control) of Army Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha 3336, from the 3rd Special Forces Group. Their mission was to capture Haji Ghafour, a high-ranking commander of the Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin (HIG) militant group.
In June 1934, Brunelli has been promoted to the rank of first lieutenant and one year later, was transferred to San Diego, California, where he was attached to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment stationed there. Apparently influenced by his service on the aircraft carrier USS Lexington, Brunelli asked for naval aviator training and was transferred to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida in January 1936. However, he dropped out of training in December 1936 and was transferred back to the infantry and appointed adjutant and assistant operations officer on the staff 1st Marine Brigade under Brigadier General James J. Meade. He served in this capacity until May 1937, when he was ordered to the Marine Corps Base Quantico, where he was appointed aide-de-camp to Commanding General James C. Breckinridge.
On 7 June 2015, Bayer Leverkusen opted to make Papadopoulos' loan from Schalke 04 permanent on a €6.5 million transfer fee, with the player signing a five-year contract. On 29 September 2015, Papadopoulos scored his first goal in the 2015–16 season in the first half of a Champions League encounter against Barcelona: Hakan Çalhanoğlu, swung in a corner that hit right underneath Barça goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen's crossbar; Papadopoulos headed in the rebound from close range. Papadopoulos suffered a lot of injuries during the season facing a tear in a joint capsule that kept him two weeks out of training, as well as a right calf tendon in the 0–0 Europa League draw with Villarreal that kept him out of the club till the end of the season.
On July 23, 2014, one day after threatening to hold out of training camp, Charles agreed to a two-year, $18.1 million extension making him one of the top five highest paid running backs in the NFL. On September 14, 2014, Charles suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos. On September 29, against the New England Patriots, he had 18 carries for 92 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in the 41–14 victory to earn AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. On October 19, against the San Diego Chargers, Charles passed Priest Holmes's mark of 6,070 rushing yards to become the all-time leading rusher for the Chiefs. In the next game, he had 67 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in the 34–7 victory over the St. Louis Rams.
Fox retired rather than rejoin the team and Payton threatened to hold out of training camp, but he eventually ended up playing for the team during the 2004–05 Season. The Celtics were a young team under new coach Doc Rivers, yet they seemed to have a core of good young players, led by rookie Al Jefferson, to go along with a selection of able veterans (Paul Pierce, a now-healthy Raef LaFrentz, and Ricky Davis). Before the trading deadline in the winter of 2005 the Celtics re-acquired Antoine Walker when they dealt Gary Payton to the Atlanta Hawks (Payton would re-sign with the team after being released from the Hawks a week later). With Walker back in the fold, the Celtics improved enormously. The Celtics went 45–37 and won their first Atlantic Division title since 1991–92.
He did well with the Mariners and was named team captain out of training camp before rejoining the Bruins in October. He proved his value after being recalled, with 19 points in his first 11 games, including making 8 goals on 15 shots in that span before suffering a shoulder injury in a game against the Hartford Whalers in November, which turned out to be a torn rotator cuff requiring surgery. He remained sidelined until February, first appearing in a charity skills competition with his teammates (and winning the shooting accuracy contest) and then returning to the lineup in mid-February against the St. Louis Blues. Still struggling late in the season, the Bruins eventually returned Brickley and other veterans to Maine, favoring youth over experience, and eventually cutting ties with them all after the season ended.
Hilliard signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2018. Hilliard was signed to the Browns practice squad on September 2, 2018 after not making the 53-man roster out of training camp. Hilliard was promoted to the Browns' active roster on October 9, 2018. Hilliard made his NFL debut on October 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers, returning one kick for 31 yards and recording a tackle on special teams. In his rookie season, Hilliard caught nine passes for 105 yards and returned 11 kicks for 264 yards (24.0 average), as well as making three tackles on special teams, in 11 games played. Hillard scored his first touchdown on a four-yard run, the first carry of his professional career, on Week 1 of the 2019 season against the Tennessee Titans.
He played two games with the Chicago Hounds in 2006–07 and then began the 2007–08 season with the Kalamazoo Wings of the International Hockey League (IHL), a rebranded UHL. Although he received little ice time during his 25-game stint with Kalamazoo, Rechlicz received a call-up from the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL). Before the 2008–09 season, Rechlicz signed a three-year entry-level contract with the New York Islanders. On March 5, 2009, Rechlicz made his NHL debut with the Islanders, recording an assist in the game. Rechlicz went on to play 17 games in the NHL that season, with stops in the ECHL and AHL. During the 2009–10 season, Rechlicz made the Islanders roster out of training camp and started the year in the NHL.
Brown entered the 2005 NFL Draft and was drafted with the 2nd overall pick of the 1st round by the Miami Dolphins. Fellow Auburn University HB Carnell Williams was also in the draft and was selected with the fifth pick in the first round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brown held out of training camp due to a contract dispute and as a result was not successful running the ball in the first two weeks of the season as he rushed for only 93 yards on 34 carries (2.7 avg.) and no touchdowns. However, he got on track in Week 3 as he rushed for 132 yards on 23 carries (5.7 avg.) and his first career touchdown. He followed this up with a successful Week 4 performance rushing for 97 yards on 17 carries (5.7 avg.).
On 11 July 2014, Pánik signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with Tampa Bay. After failing to make the 2014–15 Lightning roster out of training camp, however, he was placed on waivers, where he was then claimed by the Toronto Maple Leafs on 9 October 2014. On 25 October, he scored his first goal as a Maple Leaf in a 4–1 loss to the visiting Boston Bruins. Pánik experienced a breakout season in Toronto, setting career-highs in games played (76), goals scored (11) and points (17). Following this noteworthy campaign, on 1 July 2015, Pánik signed a one-year, $925,000 contract with the Maple Leafs. Pánik was expected to play with the Maple Leafs in the 2015–16 season; however, he was beaten on the depth chart by new additions such as Brad Boyes and P. A. Parenteau.
Ross played high school hockey for Detroit Catholic Central and was a co-winner of the "Mr. Hockey" title in 2001 as the top high school player in the state of Michigan. After spending four years playing collegiate hockey with the Alabama- Huntsville Chargers, Ross made his professional debut with the Motor City Mechanics of the United Hockey League in 2005. He spent most of the next two seasons with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League until being traded to the Philadelphia Phantoms for the loan of Niko Dimitrakos on March 1, 2007. During the 2007–08 season, he led the Phantoms with 62 points and the Philadelphia Flyers, the Phantoms parent club, signed Ross to a two-way contract on April 8, 2008. Ross made the Flyers roster out of training camp and made his NHL debut on October 11, 2008 against the New York Rangers.
He was reassigned to Springfield 10 days later. Finishing the season with 3 points in 11 games with the Oilers and 24 points in 39 games with the Falcons, he was re-signed by Edmonton in the off-season to a one-year, two-way contract on August 12, 2009. Brulé began the 2009–10 season as the Oilers' fourth-line centre out of training camp. With improved play and the injury of first-line winger Ales Hemsky, Brulé moved up the Oilers' depth chart and recorded his best statistical season in the NHL. However, after suffering from a recurring flu throughout the campaign, which sidelined him for a combined 11 games, he suffered a high-ankle sprain during a game against the Dallas Stars on April 2, 2010; following a collision with opposing forward Brian Sutherby, his skate got jammed underneath goaltender Kari Lehtonen's pad.
He recorded one goal and one assist over eight games. After attending his first NHL training camp with the team in September 2010, he was reassigned to the Moose for the start of the 2010–11 season. He received his first NHL call-up on December 16, and made his NHL debut two nights later in a home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He scored his first NHL goal in his second game against Jaroslav Halak of the St. Louis Blues on December 20, 2010. Volpatti finished his rookie professional season with a goal and an assist over 15 NHL games and 11 points (2 goals and 9 assists) over 53 AHL games. He added 3 points (1 goal and 2 assists) over 12 AHL playoff games. The following season, Volpatti made the Canucks' roster out of training camp, playing on the fourth line with Maxim Lapierre and Dale Weise.
Fresh out of Training Pool, a trade school for spaceship crews, Dane Thorson discovers that his first assignment as apprentice-Cargo Master puts him on Solar Queen, a Free Trader: basically an interstellar tramp freighter. At the end of Dane’s first flight the ship’s captain gains an opportunity to bid on a planet newly opened for possible trade and the crew goes all in to get the contract for a planet named Limbo. The information on the planet, which comes with the contract, does not look promising, but things look up a bit when a team of archaeologists hires Solar Queen to take them to Limbo. On Limbo the archaeologists set up camp in the ruins of a Forerunner town, a trace of the people who ran a galactic empire long before humans ventured into space and who had wiped themselves out in an interstellar war.
Tim Thomas after a 2006 game In August 2005, Thomas signed to play with Jokerit for the 2005–06 season, but his contract included an NHL option and on September 14, one day before the regular season in the SM-liiga started, Thomas announced he had signed with the Boston Bruins, leaving Jokerit with rookie goaltender Joonas Hallikainen as their sole goaltender. Eventually, Jokerit used three North American goaltenders (Karl Goehring, Steve Passmore and Tom Askey) that season, but missed the playoffs. When he returned to North America, Thomas was assigned to the Providence Bruins of the AHL out of training camp. However, as Boston suffered injuries to their two goaltenders Andrew Raycroft and Hannu Toivonen, Thomas earned his first call- up to the NHL in three years and took over as the Bruins starter, completing the 2005–06 season with a 12–13–7 record, 2.77 goals against average (GAA), .
He totaled 12 points (six goals and six assists) in 22 playoff games. After competing for a Canadiens roster spot in the 2007 NHL pre-season, Lapierre was returned to the Bulldogs to start the 2007–08 season. On December 5, 2007, he was recalled to the Canadiens, earning a role as the club's third or fourth line centre. His time with the Canadiens increased as he spent 53 games in the NHL with seven goals and 18 points, while registering 14 points over 19 games in the AHL. By the 2008–09 campaign, Lapierre had established himself as a full-time NHLer and earned a roster spot with the Canadiens out of training camp for the first time in his career. Just over a month into the season, he was elbowed in the head by opposing forward Jarkko Ruutu during a game against the Ottawa Senators on November 11, 2008.
On June 23, 2010, Sterling was traded by the Thrashers, along with Mike Vernace and a 7th round selection in 2010 NHL Entry Draft (Lee Moffie), to the San Jose Sharks for future considerations in order to help the Thrashers facilitate an earlier trade of Dustin Byfuglien from the Chicago Blackhawks. However, with his contract set to expire the Sharks chose not to re-sign Sterling and on July 3, 2010, Sterling was signed by the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 1-year contract, worth $500,000. Despite his new surroundings Sterling was unable to make the Penguins' roster coming out of training camp and was placed on waivers. After spending most of the year in the AHL Sterling was called up to the NHL on February 10, 2011, he made his Penguins debut later in the day in a game against the Los Angeles Kings.
Once recovered he spent the remainder of the season with the Moose, recording 6 points (3 goals and 3 assists) in 14 games. Rypien during the Canucks' 2009 training camp Rypien remained with the Moose to start the 2007–08 season, failing to make the Canucks' roster out of training camp. Within half-a-month, he was recalled by Vancouver. Playing against the Detroit Red Wings on October 24, 2007, Rypien broke a finger in his left hand. After being sidelined for 16 games, he was reassigned to the Moose on December 4. Splitting the remainder of the season between Manitoba and Vancouver, he was called up on two separate occasions (January 13–16 and February 26–April 8, 2008) and finished the regular season with 14 points (3 goals and 11 assists) in 34 AHL games and 3 points (1 goal and 2 assists) in 22 NHL games.
On 11 February 2013, several weeks after NHL play had resumed, the Lightning recalled Pánik, where he later scored his first career NHL goal on 23 February against Dan Ellis of the Carolina Hurricanes in a 5–2 victory. On 1 March, the Tampa Bay Lightning reassigned Pánik to Syracuse after playing nine games in the NHL, registering one goal from eight shots on net. At the end of the AHL regular season, Pánik had played in 43 games with the Crunch, recording 21 goals and 35 points, including an AHL-high 12-game point streak from 2 November through 1 December 2013, with 17. Pánik then helped Syracuse reach the Calder Cup Final, though the team fell to the Grand Rapids Griffins in a 4–2 series defeat. Pánik made the 2013–14 Lightning roster out of training camp to begin the regular season.
As the season began Holland was overshadowed by a plethora of young forward rookies including Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and Connor Brown, among others. Due to limited roster space, Holland seldom played for the Maple Leafs, being scratched in 17 of the teams first 25 games, and seeing limited ice time in the eight games he did play. After being informed by general manager Lou Lamoriello that the team would do their best to trade him, Holland was traded to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a conditional draft pick in 2018 on December 9, 2016; the condition was not satisfied. On July 1, 2017, as a free agent, Holland signed a two-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens, playing the second year on a one-way basis. Ahead of the 2017–18 season, Holland was unable to make the Canadiens' roster out of training camp and was assigned to Montreal's AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket.
Blessed with size and a mean streak to go with a soft touch around the net, Momesso played his junior hockey for the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL, and was drafted 27th overall in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft by his hometown Montreal Canadiens. He made his NHL debut the following season at the age of just 18, playing a single game for the Canadiens, but remained in junior for most of the following two seasons, during which time he began to dominate the QMJHL and establish himself as a blue-chip NHL prospect. In 1984–85, he recorded 56 goals and 146 points in just 64 games, along with 216 penalty minutes, and was named QMJHL Player of the Year. For the 1985–86 NHL season, Momesso made the Habs' roster out of training camp and meshed well on a line with Brian Skrudland and Mike McPhee, recording an impressive 8 goals and 15 points in his first 24 games to start his career.
Hinote accepted an appointment to the United States Military Academy in 1995, and initially planned on a career with the FBI. He left the Academy in 1996 when he became the first NHL player ever to be drafted from West Point when the Colorado Avalanche selected him in the 7th round (167th overall pick) of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Dan subsequently spent one and a half seasons playing major junior hockey for the Oshawa Generals of the OHL before turning pro with Colorado's AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, midway through the 1997–98 season. Hinote cracked the Avs' roster in the 1999–2000 season out of training camp, but spent most of that season in Hershey before making the NHL roster for good the next season. Though he would only score once during that brief call-up in 1999-2000, the goal itself marked the first time a Florida-born player ever scored an NHL goal.
As a free agent, Ward signed a one-year contract with the Nashville Predators on July 15, 2008. He made the opening night roster out of training camp for the 2008–09 season and scored his first NHL goal in his first game as a Predator against the St. Louis Blues on October 10, 2008. In 2008–09, his first full NHL season, he scored 17 goals in 79 games, and his reliability as a defensive forward, and success as a utility scoring forward earned him a two-year contract extension on July 1, 2009. Ward with the Capitals in 2013 Ward became an unrestricted free agent after the 2010–11 season and subsequently signed a four-year, $12 million contract with the Washington Capitals on July 1, 2011. On April 25, 2012, Ward scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Game 7 of the first round of the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs against the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Boston Bruins, advancing Washington to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
On March 1, 2016, the Kansas City Chiefs offered Berry a franchise tag. He decided to hold out of training camp and offseason activities in the hopes of receiving a long-term contract offer by the Chiefs. On August 28, 2016, Berry signed a one-year, $10.80 million franchise tag to remain with the Chiefs for the 2016 season after both parties were unable to come to an agreement on a long-term contract. On November 13, 2016, Berry recorded nine combined tackles, two pass deflections, and returned an interception by Cam Newton for a 42-yard touchdown in the Chiefs' 20–17 victory at the Carolina Panthers. In Week 13, Berry made two solo tackles, broke up a pass, returned an interception for a 37-yard touchdown, and became the first player to return an interception for a defensive two-point conversion since the rule was enacted in 2015. His two-point score occurred on an interception by quarterback Matt Ryan during the two-point conversion attempt and provided the winning score for the Chiefs' 29–28 victory against the Atlanta Falcons.
In 2011–12, Rattie was named Canadian Hockey League player of the week for the week of November 21 to November 27. He was also named WHL player of the month for November, for scoring 16 goals and 28 points in 11 games. In the 2012–13 WHL season, after the Winterhawks won the WHL championship, Rattie was awarded the airBC Trophy after being named the 2013 WHL Playoff MVP. He made his NHL debut with the St. Louis Blues on April 11, 2014, against the Dallas Stars. During the 2015–16 season, Rattie scored his first NHL goal on January 12, 2016 against the New Jersey Devils. In the following 2016–17 season, Rattie made the Blues opening night roster out of training camp. After playing in just 4 games with the Blues through to the new year, Rattie was placed on waivers for the first time on January 3, 2017. On the following day, Rattie was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Hurricanes. Over the following month, Rattie proceeded to play in just 5 games with the Hurricanes recording 2 assists.
After recording 30 points (12 goals and 18 assists) over 51 games with the Checkers (10th in team scoring), he was recalled on March 10, 2011. Spending the remainder of the season with the Hurricanes, he finished 2010–11 with one assist over 23 games, while averaging 10 minutes of ice time. Carolina failed to qualify for the playoffs, coming within three points of the eighth and final seed in the Eastern Conference. With his NHL season over, the Hurricanes returned him to the AHL, where the Checkers had qualified for the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs. Bowman contributed 8 points (2 goals and 6 assists) over 15 games as the Checkers were eliminated in the Conference Finals by the Binghamton Senators. Bowman remained with Charlotte for the beginning of the 2011–12 season, failing to make the Hurricanes' roster out of training camp. In November 2011, he received a call-up to Carolina that lasted five days. The following month, he was recalled again and recorded a two-goal game against the Vancouver Canucks on December 15, 2011.
The league's collective bargaining agreement (CBA) precluded any adjustment to that contract until October 1997. He eventually became outraged, despite his agent, Tony Dutte, clearly understanding that contract renegotiating, and even discussions of renegotiation, was explicitly forbidden by the league until 1997; it also did not help that the SuperSonics signed Jim McIlvaine to a seven-year, $33.6 million contract. Despite this oft-forgotten fact concerning CBA rules and restrictions, Kemp threatened to refuse to play in the upcoming 1996–97 season and held out of training camp for 22 days; despite that Kemp still helped lead the SuperSonics to another 50-plus-win season as they dispatched the Phoenix Suns in five games in the first round, only to lose to the Hakeem Olajuwon, and Clyde Drexler-led Houston Rockets in a seven-game series in the second round of the NBA Playoffs. Following the 1996–1997 season, Kemp was part of a trade sending him to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks forward Vin Baker to the SuperSonics, and Terrell Brandon and Tyrone Hill from the Cavaliers to the Bucks.
Following a 0–2 Basque derby loss at Real Sociedad on 29 September, in which he was a late substitute, he got into an argument with manager Marcelo Bielsa; two days later he walked out of training early and was sent to practice with the youth squad and, as a result, his relationship with the club's supporters and president Josu Urrutia further deteriorated. On 3 January 2013, Athletic confirmed that Llorente would be holding talks with Juventus On the 21st the Italians' sporting director, Giuseppe Marotta, stated that he was "very optimistic" that the player would join on 1 July, with Urrutia believed to be unwilling to allow him to leave in the January transfer window. Three days later the club formalized the signing, and announced he would sign a four-year contract on 1 July when his contract with Bilbao expired; Juventus also paid his agent €3.038 million. Llorente scored just 5 goals in 36 competitive matches in his final year with Athletic, playing mainly as a back-up for Aduriz.
Markström failed to make the Canucks out of training camp during the 2014–15 season. After clearing waivers, he was assigned to the Canucks' AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets. Following an injury to Ryan Miller, Markström was recalled to the Canucks to serve as backup to Eddie Läck and got to play on 3 March 2015, against the San Jose Sharks, but was pulled after he allowed three goals on four shots. The Canucks went on to lose the game 6–2. Markström came into a game on 19 March 2015 against the Columbus Blue Jackets and made two saves on two shots. However, the Canucks went on to lose that game 6–2 as well. Markström got his first and only win of the 2014–15 season when he made 26 saves on 27 shots on 22 March 2015, when the Canucks beat the Arizona Coyotes 3–1. On 29 June 2015, Markström was re-signed to a two-year one-way contract with the Vancouver Canucks.
In Hurley's words, Friday "trained like he played"; "he had no other way of playing". His new manager had to take him out of training on occasion because of the injuries he would inflict on his own teammates in his effort to win. By late January 1974, Reading were on a run of 14 games with only two victories, while Friday had performed strongly in three reserve matches. Hurley registered the amateur forward to play in the Football League on 23 January 1974 and gave him his first-team debut four days later. Friday turned in a performance awayRothmans Football yearbook, 1974-1975 (covering 1973-1974 season), Queen Anne Press Limited, p386 - confirmation of venue at Northampton Town that the Reading Evening Post called "outstanding" as Reading drew 3–3. The team then travelled to Barnsley on 3 February, having not won away from home in four months. After Barnsley led 2–0 at half-time, Friday scored his first League goal with a header just after the break to make the score 2–1. Reading immediately offered a professional contract, which Friday signed on 6 February 1974.
Entering his seventh season within the Stars organization, and failing to attain a roster position out of training camp, Nemeth was placed on waivers to start the 2017–18 season. On October 3, 2017, Nemeth was claimed off waivers by division rivals, the Colorado Avalanche. Inserted into the lineup on opening night he recorded an assist in his Avalanche debut against the New York Rangers on October 5, 2017. Providing physical and smart plays on the blueline, Nemeth posted his first NHL goal, in his 118th game, during a 5-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on November 2, 2017. Nemeth had recorded 6 points in his first 12 games before suffering a lower-body injury, forcing him to miss 12 games. He returned to the lineup on December 7 and was a mainstay in an improved Colorado defense, featuring in the final 56 contests of the season, the longest of his career. Adding an need stay-at-home presence, Nemeth recorded a career high 3 goals and 15 points in 68 games. He led the Avalanche in Plus-mins (+27), ranking fourth among all NHL defenseman.
On July 1, 2006, Arnason signed a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche. His dad also played in Colorado as a member of the Colorado Rockies hockey team. Arnason enjoyed a return to form by posting 49 points for the Avalanche in the 2006–07 season. He was consequently awarded a two-year extension by the Avalanche on June 22, 2007. On July 3, 2009, Arnason signed a one-year two-way contract with the New York Rangers for the 2009–10 season. On September 17, 2009, Arnason failed to make the Rangers out of training camp and was assigned to affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, for the beginning of the season. On November 10, 2009, without the ambition to play in the AHL he was suspended by the Rangers and released from his contract to sign with the European team Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League. Following a difficult transition and recording only 11 points in 26 games, Tyler's contract was not renewed by Riga at season's end. Returning to North America, as a free agent, he accepted a tryout invitation to attend the Florida Panthers training camp for the 2010–11 season.
In his first professional season, in 2010–11, Gaunce was assigned to Colorado's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters. After 54 games with the Monsters, he was called-up to the NHL and made his NHL debut in Colorado's 5–3 defeat against the Nashville Predators on February 12, 2011. In his third game with the Avalanche, he scored his first NHL goal and point against Marc-André Fleury and the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 3–2 loss on February 16. During the 2012–13 season, while playing with the Monsters and in the final year of his entry-level contract, on April 2, 2013, Gaunce was traded to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Tomáš Vincour. On December 17, 2013, Gaunce was called-up to the Stars. In September 2014, after failing to make the Stars' NHL roster out of training camp, Gaunce was assigned to Dallas' AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars. On July 1, 2015, after he was not tendered a qualifying offer to remain with the Stars, Gaunce signed as a free agent to a one-year, two-way contract with the Florida Panthers. Gaunce was assigned to add leadership to Florida's AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates, for the duration of the 2015–16 season.
Brodziak made the Oilers out of training camp at the beginning of the 2007–08 season after an excellent pre-season, where he impressed Oilers head coach Craig MacTavish.
