The Hevener House is one of the most elaborate Queen Anne-styled residences in Lapeer, distinguished by the ornateness, complexity and delicacy of its Queen Anne-inspired detailing. Paulinus wrote an annual hymn (natalicium) in honor of St. Felix for the feast day when processions of pilgrims were at their peak. Many burial grounds outside of the city became crowded because mausolea had not but increased in size, ornateness, and quantity since the Hellenistic Era.
